Jennifer sat there in her office at her father's company where she was the lead interior designer. Her father was CEO and her twin brother was COO. She knew her brother would be taking over the company once their father retired.
“Hi baby girl,” David said.
“Hi Daddy, what's up?” Jennifer asked.
“I have a meeting with Michael Ross in a few minutes and want you to sit in with us,” David said.
“Shouldn't you have James do that since he's taking over the company once you retire?” Jennifer asked.
“He will be there too, but I want you there as well, he suggested that when I retire, he wants you both to be in charge,” David said.
“What?” Jennifer said.
“Honey, he wants you to be co-CEO with him, he doesn't want you to be left out because he's older than you by two minutes,” David said.
“He's right, sis, I want you there with me,” James said.
“You serious, bro?” Jennifer asked.
“He's serious, sis,” Ashley said. She saw his wife, Ashley, standing beside him.
“I don't know what to say,” Jennifer said.
“It will be awhile before I'm ready to retire so you have time to let it sink in,” David said.
“Babe, they are in the conference room,” Amber said.
“Thank you, my love,” David said.
“He's not alone, Mom?” Jennifer asked.
“No, he has his sons with him,” Amber said.
“Let's go baby girl,” David said. They went to the conference room and walked in and saw two young guys and an older guy sitting there waiting.
“Michael hello,” David said.
“David how are you,” Michael said.
“Doing good, this is my son, James and my daughter, Jennifer,” David said.
“Hello,” Jennifer said.
“Hello,” James said.
“Nice to meet you both, this is my oldest son, Ethan and my younger son, Eric,” Michael said.
“Hello,” Eric said.
“Hello,” Ethan said. Jennifer noticed Ethan staring at her. She glanced at him and gave him a small smile before looking at her papers in front of her.
“Okay so let's get down to business, what brings you here to the office?” David asked.
“Ethan owns one of my nightclubs and Eric owns the other and they need to be redesigned and updated,” Michael said.
“Of course, Jennifer is our lead designer, she can come look at the clubs and see what she can do or do you guys have ideas on what you want changed?” David asked. Jennifer saw Ethan and Eric whispering to each other.
“Boys,” Michael said.
“Dad,” Ethan said.
“What's up,” Eric said.
“What are you two whispering about,” Michael said.
“Just stuff,” Ethan said.
“I was telling him what Bec said this morning,” Eric said.
“That reminds me, have you given any thought about what else we talked on the phone about?” Michael asked.
“I am still speaking with my wife about it,” David said.
“Dad?” James asked.
“What's going on?” Jennifer asked.
“You will know soon,” David said.
“Deadline for decision is at the end of the month which is in two weeks,” Michael said.
“I'll have an answer by then,” David said.
“Okay what's going on,” Jennifer said.
“Yeah Dad, are they buying us out?” James asked.
“No we aren't,” Michael said.
“No son, you both will be taking over when I retire,” David said.
“So why can't you tell us what's going on?” Jennifer asked.
“Because I'm going to have to talk with your mom about it,” David said.
“Okay that's it, come on, Jen, let's get out of here, obviously we are not going to be in the loop of whatever is going on,” James said. She looked at her father and everyone and followed her brother out the door.
“James, Jennifer,” Amber said.
“Mom, what's going on?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah, Dad is hiding something and won't tell us until he speaks to you,” James said.
“I don't know, honey, but I will talk to your father,” Amber said.
“We will have to wait and find out once he tells us,” Ashley said. Jennifer went to her office and closed the door and sat down and went back to work.

Chapter 2

Meanwhile in the conference room
“Well, that went well,” Eric said.
“Eric!” Ethan said.
“Why couldn't you tell them the truth,” Eric said.
“Because I need to talk with my wife about it,” David said.
“Well you can now,” Amber said. She closed the door and sat down.
“Honey,” David said.
“Tell me what's going on, David, and why I'm just as clueless as my children,” Amber said. David looked at her and sighed. He looked at Michael.
“Amber, we don't just own nightclubs, we are mafia,” Michael said.
“Oh?” Amber said.
“Ethan is looking for a wife,” David said.
“Oh god no, David, please tell me you didn't offer our daughter,” Amber said.
“I didn't really offer her,” David said.
“I want her,” Ethan said.
“She's not some property,” Amber said.
“I wasn't buying her,” Ethan said.
“He wants her to be his wife,” Eric said.
“David, what did you do?” Amber asked.
“He wants to make a deal with us,” David said.
“I will invest in the company if Jennifer agrees to marry Ethan,” Michael said.
“So you want her to have an arranged marriage,” Amber said.
“I want her to be mine, I fell for her when I saw her picture that was on your website,” Ethan said.
“I doubt she feels the same,” Amber said.
“Feelings will grow,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, you don't know if she's got a boyfriend or is already married,” Eric said.
“She's not,” Ethan said.
“You don't know that,” Eric said.
“Boys,” Michael said.
“Jennifer is single,” David said.
“Work has been her focus,” Amber said.
“Has she had a boyfriend before?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, in high school, they broke up after graduation when she caught him in bed with his ex,” David said.
“Since then she focused on college and then her career,” Amber said.
“I have to ask,” Michael said.
“She is,” Amber said.
“Honey,” David said.
“He was going to ask,” Amber said.
“You two should continue talking about this, we will get back to you about designing the clubs,” Michael said.
“Okay Michael,” David said. They left. Ethan walked by Jennifer's office and saw her working. He looked at his brother and father. They nodded. He knocked on her door. She looked up and saw him.
“Hey,” Ethan said.
“Hey,” Jennifer said.
“I was wondering if you would like to grab a bite to eat with me,” Ethan said. She looks at the time.
“Yeah, I could use a break,” Jennifer said.
“Okay,” Ethan said. They left and went down the street to a small cafe. They sat down and ordered food. She noticed the waitress was being flirty with him. He didn't bother looking at the waitress. He focused on her.
“What,” Jennifer said.
“You're beautiful,” Ethan said. She blushed.
“Thanks,” Jennifer said.
“Are you blushing?” Ethan asked.
“Maybe,” Jennifer said.
“How come you don't have a boyfriend?” Ethan asked.
“My ex cheated on me so I closed myself off from dating and just focused on work,” Jennifer said.
“So you wouldn't consider going on an official date with me?” Ethan asked.
“This isn't a date?” Jennifer asked.
“Do you want it to be?” Ethan asked.
“Do you want it to be?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes I would,” Ethan said.
“Okay so we call this a date,” Jennifer said.
“I guess we can,” Ethan said.
“So you don't have a girlfriend?” Jennifer asked.
“No, I never found the right one,” Ethan said.
“You think that's me?” Jennifer asked.
“It's possible,” Ethan said.
“Possible?” Jennifer asked.
“It depends on how things go,” Ethan said.
“Okay so let's get to know each other better,” Jennifer said. He smiled and their food came and they sat and ate and talked.

Chapter 3

Three weeks later, things between Ethan and Jennifer became official as he asked her to be his girlfriend and she said yes. Ethan went to his father and told him to just invest in the company. He wanted to take things slow with her. He wanted her to fall in love with him without knowing about the deal. He didn't want to force her into marriage. Michael agreed and sat down with David, Amber, Ethan, Jennifer, and James and they talked about the investment.
“So the company won't be completely mine and James's when we take over,” Jennifer said.
“It still will be, I'm going to be a silent investor, I will not have any day in the company,” Michael said.
“You guys are hiding something,” James said.
“What James,” David said.
“What reason would he need to invest in the company, we are doing very well, we are not in debt, I've seen the numbers, Dad, we are not in trouble that we need an investor,” James said.
“It's not that, son,” David said.
“This is just a preventive measure,” Michael said.
“You never know what will happen,” David said.
“Jen?” Ethan asked.
“Hmm?” Jennifer said.
“What's wrong?” Ethan asked.
“I just think something is wrong or there is a big secret between everyone except me and James,” Jennifer said.
“Honey, there's nothing to worry about, he just wants to invest because it's a good business measure,” David said.
“David, honey,” Amber said.
“Okay, there was an original deal in place but it's no longer needed to happen,” David said.
“What was that?” James asked.
“I would invest in the company only if Jennifer agreed to marry Ethan,” Michael said.
“What!” Jennifer said.
“What!” James said.
“So that's why you want to invest in the company so I would marry Ethan?!” Jennifer said.
“Jen, that's off the table now,” Ethan said.
“Three days after that first date at the cafe, Ethan came to me and told me to call it off, that he wanted things to happen on their own, he wanted things to go naturally, he didn't want to force you into marriage,” Michael said.
“Michael called and told me he would invest for nothing in return, that it would just be good business,” David said.
“Oh my god,” James said.
“Jen, baby?” Ethan asked.
“I can't believe this, so what you feel for me isn't real?” Jennifer asked.
“It's real for me, I fell in love with you,” Ethan said.
“When?” Jennifer asked.
“Before we even met, I saw your picture on the website and I just fell in love with you,” Ethan said.
“You fell in love with me before we met,” Jennifer said.
“I saw your picture and I just knew I had to meet you, I wanted to meet you and get to know you and date you,” Ethan said.
“But you would going to go along with this marriage thing,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer, that was my doing, he wasn't so sure about that, what he told you is the truth, he saw your picture and fell for you and wanted to meet you and get to know you and date you, he wasn't totally on board with the whole thing and when he came to me to call it off, I didn't hesitate, I saw in his eyes how he felt about you when he talked about you, there was love in his eyes,” Michael said. Jennifer looked at Ethan. She took his hand in hers.
“I could never lie to you about my feelings for you,” Ethan said.
“I've never felt this way before, I feel the same way,” Jennifer said. He smiled and took her hand and kissed it as they gazed into each other's eyes.

Chapter 4

The next day, Michael signed the papers making the investment official. They were in the conference room. Ethan stood behind Jennifer with his arms around her waist from behind. Their fathers shook hands and he shook hands with James. He shook hands with her as well.
“See you later, son,” Michael said.
“See ya Dad,” Ethan said. Michael left. David and James went out the door. Jennifer felt lips on her neck.
“Mmmm,” Jennifer said.
“You smell so good, baby,” Ethan said.
“I love how you smell as well,” Jennifer said.
“Want to eat dinner with me tonight?” Ethan asked.
“I'd love to,” Jennifer said.
“I want to show you my club as well,” Ethan said.
“Oh I better see if it needs redone,” Jennifer said.
“I think it does,” Ethan said.
“We will see,” Jennifer said.
“Jen?” Ethan said.
“Hmmm?” Jennifer said.
“I know it's been three weeks since we met and things became official but I just want you to know that I love you,” Ethan said. She looked up at him. He was gazing at her.
“You love me?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes I do, you can say it when you are ready, I just wanted you to know,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, I love you too,” Jennifer said. He smiled and kissed her softly. The kiss deepened and their tongues fought in their mouths. He held her close. She held onto him.
“Mmm baby, we should stop, I do not want to lose control here,” Ethan said.
“Oh okay,” Jennifer said.
“Baby?” Ethan asked.
“I get it, okay,” Jennifer said.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“I should get back to work,” Jennifer said.
“No Jen, let's talk about this,” Ethan said.
“What's to talk about,” Jennifer said.
“The fact that you are pulling away from me,” Ethan said.
“You don't want me,” Jennifer said.
“Oh god yes I do more than anything but we are in the conference room at your company,” Ethan said.
“Oh good point,” Jennifer said.
“And you have not had your first time yet and I want you to be ready and I want it to be special,” Ethan said.
“Oh Ethan,” Jennifer said. She hugged him. He held her close and buried his face in her neck.
“Unless you are waiting for marriage,” Ethan said.
“What if I was,” Jennifer said.
“I would wait for you,” Ethan said.
“Who said I was marrying you,” Jennifer said.
“So you don't see this being anything more than dating, me calling you baby, us being official, you don't see it leading to marriage?” Ethan asked.
“I do,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, I love you, I want a life with you, I dream about it,” Ethan said.
“You dream about me?” Jennifer asked.
“Ever since I first saw your picture,” Ethan said.
“What are the dreams about?” Jennifer asked.
“Let's see, we are kissing a lot, making love, there was one with us married and had two kids, a boy and a girl, we just were living a happy life,” Ethan said.
“Sounds amazing,” Jennifer said.
“We could make it happen sooner than later,” Ethan said.
“What,” Jennifer said.
“We could just get married and start our life together,” Ethan said.
“We just started dating three weeks ago,” Jennifer said.
“I know, baby, but I told you that I see forever with you,” Ethan said.
“So are you asking me to marry you?” Jennifer asked.
“If I was, what would you say?” Ethan asked.
“Um, maybe,” Jennifer said.
“Maybe?” Ethan asked.
“All right, I would say yes,” Jennifer said.
“You would?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, I do see forever with you,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer Aspen, will you marry me and be my forever?” Ethan asked.
“Yes if you be mine,” Jennifer said.
“God yes I will be,” Ethan said. He crashed his mouth to hers in a deep kiss. She held onto him.

Chapter 5

Jennifer and Ethan stood in the conference room kissing.
“Mmm, did you just ask me to marry you,” Jennifer said.
“Yes I did, and you said yes,” Ethan said.
“Okay so it wasn't a dream,” Jennifer said.
“It was a dream come true for me,” Ethan said.
“Where's my ring?” Jennifer asked.
“We will go pick it out together,” Ethan said.
“I just can't believe it,” Jennifer said.
“Me neither but I wouldn't change anything, I want this, I want to be with you forever,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, I have to ask you something,” Jennifer said.
“I think I know what it is and you are wrong, there is no marriage deal in place,this is my decision and yours, there is no marriage contract, our parents have no clue about this,” Ethan said.
“Okay good,” Jennifer said.
“But we will have to tell them,” Ethan said.
“Do we have to,” Jennifer said.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“Fine,” Jennifer said. They held hands and went to her father's office where her parents were.
“Mom, Dad?” Jennifer said.
“Hi honey, hi Ethan,” Amber said.
“Mrs. Aspen,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, you are with my daughter, you can call me Amber,” Amber said.
“Okay, Amber,” Ethan said.
“What's up you two,” David said.
“We have something to tell you,” Jennifer said.
“Oh god,” David said.
“Honey, you are pregnant already,” Amber said.
“Um no, I'm not,” Jennifer said.
“I know we haven't been together long, but I just couldn't wait, I asked her to marry me,” Ethan said.
“I said yes, so we are engaged,” Jennifer said.
“What!” David said.
“What!” Amber said.
“We aren't getting married tomorrow, we want to plan the wedding and enjoy being together as an engaged couple,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer, it's only been three weeks,” David said.
“Honey,” Amber said.
“I know, Dad, but this is it, he's the one,” Jennifer said.
“And she's the one, we want this to be our decision, no marriage deals, nothing, my dad doesn't know about this yet, I love your daughter, sir, I want to be with her for the rest of my life,” Ethan said.
“I don't know about this,” David said.
“David, she's a grown woman who is making her own choices, we must accept them and just be supportive,” Amber said.
“I'm sorry but I can't support this,” David said.
“David!” Amber said.
“Let's go Ethan,” Jennifer said. She took his hand and pulled him out the door and they left and went to see his father and told him the news.
“David didn't support this?” Michael asked.
“No,” Ethan said.
“Because of how long we have been together is why,” Jennifer said.
“Well, I'm happy for you both,” Michael said.
“Thanks Dad,” Ethan said.
“So when's the wedding?” Michael asked.
“Wedding?” Eric asked coming in.
“What wedding?” Becca asked.
“Ethan and Jennifer are engaged now,” Michael said.
“Congratulations!” Becca said.
“Congratulations you two,” Eric said.
“I take it not everyone was happy about it,” Becca said.
“My father,” Jennifer said.
“Why not just elope, just fly to Vegas and get married, he won't have much choice but to support it because it will be done and it will show you guys are serious for each other,” Becca said.
“Bec,” Ethan said.
“Baby,” Eric said.
“I like that idea,” Jennifer said.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“Eric and I will go with you as witnesses,” Becca said.
“We will?” Eric asked.
“Guys,” Ethan said.
“You don't want to get married?” Jennifer asked.
“I just thought you would want your father to give you away,” Ethan said.
“Why not just go get married in Vegas and then we can have a family wedding once they come around to accepting it,” Michael said.
“Her mom seemed to be supportive, it's her dad,” Ethan said.
“I need to call James,” Jennifer said. She went to make the phone call while Ethan talked with his family.
“Sis, what's up?” James asked.
“Dad talk to you?” Jennifer asked.
“He told me, sis, I support you,” James said.
“I know he thinks it's too soon but I want this,” Jennifer said.
“Then do it, sis, go get married tonight, prove to him how much you want it,” James said.
“Becca had the same idea,” Jennifer said.
“Who is Becca?” James asked.
“Ethan's sister-in-law, she's Eric's wife,” Jennifer said.
“Go do it, sis, I'll meet you out there,” James said.
“Bro,” Jennifer said.
“I'm not missing your wedding because of him,” James said.
“I'll text you once I know the plans,” Jennifer said.
“Love you sis,” James said.
“Love you too, bro,” Jennifer said. She hung up and felt arms around her from behind.
“James supportive?” Ethan asked.
“Yes, he thought the same as Becca did,” Jennifer said.
“So he wants us to go to Vegas too,” Ethan said.
“He said he would meet us there if we go,” Jennifer said.
“Then let's do it baby,” Ethan said.
“Really?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah, let's just go to Vegas and get married,” Ethan said. She smiled and kissed him deeply.

Chapter 6

Jennifer, Ethan, Eric, and Becca went to the airport and got on their private plane for Las Vegas.
“You have a plane,” Jennifer said.
“Yes baby we do,” Ethan said.
“Wow, nightclubs really doing that good,” Jennifer said.
“Yes baby they are, we invested in a couple more in New York,” Ethan said.
“New York City?” Jennifer asked.
“I've got two best friends who own them,” Ethan said.
“We practically grew up with them, they are more like brothers than just friends,” Eric said.
“My sister lives there, she got tired of Miami so she moved up there and she's glad she did, she met her husband, had two kids and a great job at a law office as a paralegal,” Becca said. Her phone beeped and she looked and saw a text from James. She sent him a text.
“He's here?” Ethan asked.
“Yep,” Jennifer said. James and Ashley got on the plane and Eric introduced them to Becca. They all buckled up and the plane took off.
“Dad won't stop bugging me about why I took off from the company, I told him that Ashley and I are taking a trip, then he asked about you and I told him that you needed a break from him and you would be back once he accepted Ethan as your fiance,” James said.
“Well this will piss him off when he finds out about this,” Jennifer said.
“Turn off the locator on your phones, guys,” James said. They all turned off their locators and sat back and relaxed as the plane headed to Las Vegas. Ethan looked at Jennifer who was looking out the window.
“Baby, you okay?” Ethan asked.
“I'm fine, babe, just excited,” Jennifer said.
“You sure?” Ethan asked.
“Yep, I can't wait to be Mrs. Ethan Ross,” Jennifer said. He smiled and kissed her hand as he looked in her eyes.
“I love you so much,” Ethan said.
“I love you too,” Jennifer said.
“I thought after we got married, we would have the wedding night in our suite and then we fly out to the Maldives for our honeymoon,” Ethan said.
“Sounds perfect but we didn't exactly pack any clothes,” Jennifer said.
“We will buy clothes,” Ethan said. James's phone rang. They looked at him and saw him look at it.
“It's Dad,” James said.
“Just ignore it,” Jennifer said.
“He will keep calling until I do,” James said. He answered it. Jennifer held Ethan's hand.
“What's up, Dad, what, I don't know, I am going on a trip with my wife, well I haven't taken a vacation since our honeymoon and that's been three years now, it's long overdue, look all she wants is your support, that's all, of course I support it, she's my twin sister, I will always have her back, yeah you do that,” James said. He hung up and rubbed his face with his hands.
“What's going on,” Jennifer said.
“He's calling Michael,” James said.
“My dad won't say a word,” Ethan said.
“He will make up an excuse,” Eric said. Ethan's phone beeped and he saw a text from his father.
“Hey son, David called me because he's looking for Jen, I told him I haven't seen her and you were headed to New York with Alex for business but Jen wasn't going with you, so he's trying to find her,” Michael texted.
“Probably to try to talk her out of the engagement,” Ethan texted.
“Yeah, he's not really supportive, he wants you out of her life,” Michael texted.
“Unbelievable, I'm not going to do that,” Ethan texted.
“I told him to let her make her own choices,” Michael texted.
“Thanks for having my back, Dad,” Ethan texted.
“Always, son,” Michael texted. Ethan looked at her and cupped her cheek with his hand.
“My heart is yours forever and always,” Ethan said.
“As is mine,” Jennifer said. He leaned over and kissed her softly and held her hand as they sat back and relaxed.

Chapter 7

The pilot made the announcement that they were almost to the airport. Jennifer looked out the window and saw the city lights.
“Baby?” Ethan asked.
“It's beautiful, the lights,” Jennifer said.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Ethan said. The plane landed and they got off and headed for the hotel. They pulled up in front of the hotel and got out.
“Wow, the Bellagio,” James said.
“Come on guys,” Ethan said. They went inside and checked in and went to their rooms. Ethan and Jennifer walked into their suite.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said. He hugged her from behind and kissed her neck.
“Yes baby,” Ethan said.
“This is so amazing,” Jennifer said.
“You are amazing, I can't wait to call you my wife,” Ethan said.
“When are we going to get married?” Jennifer asked.
“Let's go shopping for your dress and dresses for Becca and Ashley and suits for me and our brothers, and go to a chapel, they are open all night,” Ethan said.
“I can't wait, can we just get married in these clothes,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, no, I want to see you in a dress and I said we would shop for clothes so get the girls and get dresses and get ready and I'll get the guys and get suits and I will text you where to go and we will meet at the chapel,” Ethan said.
“Okay, I love you,” Jennifer said.
“I love you baby,” Ethan said. He kissed her deeply as they went to get the others and went their separate ways and went shopping. The girls got clothes and dresses and went to get ready.
“Jen, you look so beautiful,” Ashley said.
“He's going to drool when he sees you,” Becca said.
“You two look beautiful as well,” Jennifer said.
“We are married ladies so we can't outshine you, I'm so happy for you,” Ashley said.
“Me too, for both of you,” Becca said.
“What happened to his mom?” Jennifer asked.
“She passed away a few years ago, it hit him hard, but when he saw your picture, he became the man he was before she died, you brought him back,” Becca said.
“I love him so much, I don't think I ever loved anyone this much in such a short amount of time,” Jennifer said.
“Well James just texted saying they are ready and waiting for us to let's go ladies,” Ashley said. They went to the wedding chapel. They walked into the chapel and saw James and Eric waiting.
“My sexy husband,” Ashley said.
“And mine,” Becca said.
“Hey baby,” Eric said.
“My gorgeous wife,” James said.
“I will be escorting you two ladies down the aisle while James walks the bride down the aisle,” Eric said.
“I'm giving you away sis,” James said.
“I love you bro,” Jennifer said.
“Love you sis and you look gorgeous and beautiful,” James said.
“Thank you my handsome brother,” Jennifer said. The doors opened and Ashley and Becca walked with Eric. James and Jennifer followed behind them. She looked up and saw Ethan standing there gazing at her. James shook Ethan's hand and sat with Ashley. Eric sat with Becca. Ethan took her hands in his and smiled.
“You look gorgeous,” Ethan said.
“Thank you handsome,” Jennifer said. The ceremony began. They exchanged vows and rings.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride,” the officiant said. Ethan cupped her face in his hands and kissed her tenderly.
“Wife,” Ethan said.
“Husband,” Jennifer said. Eric, Becca, James, and Ashley hugged them.

Chapter 8

They walked out of the chapel after signing their names on the marriage license making it official. He took her in his arms and swung her around and buried his face in her neck.
“My wife,” Ethan said.
“My husband,” Jennifer said.
“You have no idea how happy I am right now,” Ethan said.
“I have an idea how happy you are,” Jennifer said. He kissed her deeply and held her close. They heard a phone ring. They saw James looking at his phone.
“Let me guess, Dad?” Jennifer asked.
“It's Mom,” James said.
“Put it on speaker,” Jennifer said.
“Mom?” James said.
“Hi honey, your dad said you took a trip?” Amber asked.
“Yeah, me and Ash needed to get away for awhile,” James said.
“Sounds like you are in a city somewhere,” Amber said.
“Yeah, we are in a city,” James said.
“Hi Mom, we are fine,” Ashley said.
“Have you guys heard from Jen?” Amber asked.
“No I haven't but I'm sure she's okay,” James said.
“I know she's mad at your father and I don't blame her one bit, I'm not happy with him either,” Amber said.
“I wish he would just let her make her own choices, I know she's his daughter but she is a grown woman who is strong and independent,” James said.
“That's what I told him but he thinks there is something going on that none of us knows,” Amber said. Jennifer looked at Ethan who looked at her.
“Like what?” James asked.
“He thinks Ethan and his family are hiding something,” Amber said. James looked at Ethan and Eric who shook their heads.
“What does he think they are hiding,” Jame said.
“He is meeting with Michael right now, he's determined to find out,” Amber said.
“Mom, what do you think?” James asked.
“I think your father is just so overprotective that he is just trying to find a reason that isn't there, he refuses to listen to anything I say, I think he's just scared of losing his little girl, I told him she's not little anymore,” Amber said.
“I will call him,” James said.
“Okay honey,” Amber said.
“Love you Mom,” James said.
“Love you too, let me know if you hear from your sister,” Amber said.
“I will bye,” James said. He hung up and looked at everyone. Ethan got out his phone and went to call his father. James called his father and put it on speaker.
“James,” David said.
“What are you doing, Dad, Mom called me and told me what's going on, why can't you just support Jen and just be her father, why are you looking for something that's not there,” James said.
“That family is hiding something and I am going to find out what it is,” David said.
“Why?” So you can break your daughter's heart?” James asked.
“I'm trying to prevent that!” David said.
“No, Dad, she loves him, I know it hasn't been that long that they've been a couple but she was following her heart, Dad, stop what you are doing and go home to Mom, let Jen come to you if she gets hurt, don't be the cause of her heartbreak, who will she go to if something happens and she ends up with a broken heart, certainly not the person who caused it, you will lose her if you keep it up, just be her father and be supportive, don't push her away because you will do that if you don't stop,” James said. Ethan came back and hugged her from behind.
“You're right, son, I can't believe what I've been doing, have you heard from her?” David asked.
“Yes she's fine and with Ethan,” James said.
“Okay, can you tell her to call me when you talk with her again?” David asked.
“Okay but she's still mad at you so give her time, like a week off from work, I'll be back in a couple days,” James said.
“Okay, see you then and tell her I'll see her at work in a week,” David said.
“Okay bye,” James said. He hung up and looked at them.

Chapter 9

Ethan and Jennifer went back to their suite. He opened the door and picked her up and carried her into the room and closed the door with his foot. He locked up and put her down and kissed her deeply.
“I love you my wife,” Ethan said.
“I love you my husband,” Jennifer said.
“I want you,” Ethan said.
“Take me now,” Jennifer said. He lifted her up and carried her into the bedroom and set her down by the bed and unzipped her dress and it fell to the floor and he gazed at her body.

They sat there in the tub relaxing. He ran a washcloth over her body.

“I'm wondering how my parents will take the news,” Jennifer said.

“The water is getting cold,” Jennifer said. He lifted her up and got out of the tub and dried her off and wrapped her up in the towel and he dried off and wrapped a towel around him and they went and removed the towels and they got into bed and went to sleep holding each other.
The next day, they flew out of Las Vegas and headed for the Maldives. They went to where they would be staying and collapsed on the bed kissing. They spent the next few days swimming or relaxing and every night they would be in bed making love. Soon it was time to head home. They arrived back in Miami and went to his house.
“I thought you lived with your dad?” Jennifer asked.
“Nope, I've got my own place, it's your home now,” Ethan said.

“So is it just us here?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes baby, I don't have any staff here, I do have a housekeeper but she's been off taking care of her mother who has been sick,” Ethan said.

“All right,” Ethan said. He got his wallet, keys, and phone and kissed her and left with his brother.

Chapter 11

Three hours later, Ethan and Eric arrived back at the house and found it quiet. They searched the house and didn't find their wives there. They didn't find a note. Eric sent a text to Becca. His phone beeped.
“Where are they?” Ethan asked.
“Your in-laws,” Eric said.
“I thought we would talk to them together,” Ethan said.
“Jennifer thought it would be better if she did it alone, I mean, Becca is there for support but she thought it would be better if her father didn't see you when he heard the news,” Eric said.
“I can't believe this,” Ethan said.
“Bro, don't get upset with her,” Eric said.
“I'm not going to, I just wish she did it with me by her side,” Ethan said. They heard the front door open and close.
“ERIC ROSS!” Becca yelled.
“Babe?” Eric asked. Becca came over and slapped him across the face. Jennifer came in and gasped when she saw the slap.
“What the hell?” Ethan asked.

“Wait, so your dad told you that he worked for a mafia family?” Ethan asked.

“Ethan, we started our marriage with a lie,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, I made him promise not to say anything,” Eric said. Jennifer and Becca looked at each other and at their husbands.
“Okay boys, sit down now,” Jennifer said.

“SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!” Jennifer yelled. Ethan and Eric sat on the couch as Becca and Jennifer stood in front of them.
“We just gave you both the opportunity to tell us the truth,” Jennifer said.

“I don't know what I will do, but I can't stay here,” Jennifer said.

“No, we are done, don't even bother coming after us or looking for us,” Becca said. Jennifer and Becca looked at them and walked out the door.
“What just happened?” Ethan asked.
“We just destroyed our marriages,” Eric said.
“Shit!” Ethan said. He sat there staring at the ceiling.

Chapter 12

Three days later, Jennifer was in her office at the company. She was packing up her stuff. Her mom came in.
“Honey,” Amber said.
“Mom,” Jennifer said.
“I wish you would stay,” Amber said.

“I hate him, Mom, I hate him for what he did,” Jennifer said.
“I know honey, I'm not happy with him either,” Amber said.
“I told him that I got married to Ethan and your husband couldn't wait to tell me that my husband was lying to me already, maybe Ethan had a reason and he didn't give him the opportunity to be honest with me, he got me upset with my husband that I left him for the time being,” Jennifer said.
“So you will go back to Ethan,” Amber said.
“I just might to stick it to my so called father,” Jennifer said.
“Really?” David said.
“Get out,” Jennifer said.
“I'm your father young lady,” David said.
“David,” Amber said.
“I don't have a father, not anymore,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer, you deserved to know he was lying to you,” David said.
“No, Father, you kept him from being honest with me, it would have been better coming from him, he could have explained it better but no, you had to destroy me,” Jennifer said.
“He did that!” David said.

“David please,” Amber said.

“Did Becca go to Eric?” Amber asked.
“Yeah she did, they worked things out,” Jennifer said.

“The company, me and James just got done cleaning out our offices,” Jennifer texted.
“I'll be right there,” Ethan texted. She and James grabbed their boxes from their offices and walked out the door. They stood in the lobby.
“You will be okay sis?” James asked.
“I'll be fine, Ethan and I have to talk but I think we can work things out,” Jennifer said. Ethan came running in and ran to her and took her in his arms.

“Let's go home and we will talk,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer! James!” David said.

Chapter 13

Ethan and Jennifer arrived at the house and walked in and she put her stuff down and he took her in his arms and held her close.
“I know we have to talk but I just needed to do that,” Ethan said.
“I know you did, it's okay, come on,” Jennifer said. They went into the living room and sat down.
“I'm sorry I didn't tell you about being in the mafia, one reason was I didn't know how you would take it, another was to keep you safe, another was so you would have deniability if anything happens, we do keep things on the legal side but if something happens like a shooting or something, you would be able to tell the truth if questioned by the cops,” Ethan said.
“I just wish you told me sooner, it would have been better coming from you,” Jennifer said.
“And I thought you would wait for me to go tell your parents about the marriage,” Ethan said.
“I just thought it would be better if I told him alone because I didn't want him attacking you,” Jennifer said.
“I could have handled it, baby, maybe it would have been better if I had been there when he told you about the mafia, I could have explained it right there and then,” Ethan said.
“Okay so we both are at fault here, so where do we go from here,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, I love you and I want you here with me, I don't want to lose you, the last three days without you were horrible,” Ethan said.

“Me too,” Jennifer said. He lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist and he locked up and carried her upstairs to the bedroom and set her down and they removed each other's clothes and laid on the bed. He laid on top of her and kissed her deeply.

“What happened to my father, he was never like this,” Jennifer said.
“I don't know, honey, but I am done with him, I just saw two guys take him out the door,” Amber said.
“That's Alex and Seth, they work for Ethan and me,” Jennifer said.
“Honey, where are you now?” Amber asked.
“At the club,” Jennifer said.
“Send me the address, I want to be there,” Amber said.
“Mom,” Jennifer said.
“Don't argue with me, honey,” Amber said.
“Okay, Mom,” Jennifer said. She sent the address to her and they hung up. She called James and told him what was going on and he headed down. The doors opened and they dragged her father in. They stopped in front of her. He looked at her. She looked at him with no expression.

Jennifer stood there glaring at her father.
“Jen,” David said.
“Take him to the room, boys,” Jennifer said.
“Yes boss lady,” Alex said.
“You bet,” Seth said. They took him to the back. Ethan came out of his office.
“He here?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, he's in the room,” Jennifer said.
“Need me to stick around, Ethan,” Paul said.
“Yeah, you can, you can have the privilege of telling him about the treaty,” Ethan said.
“My mom and James want to be here as well,” Jennifer said.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“No, Ethan, my mom is beyond done and James is pissed off,” Jennifer said.
“You bet I am,” James said.
“I can't believe he went this far,” Amber said.
“I don't get why he would do this, didn't he want this marriage at the beginning?” Jennifer asked.
“He and I talked about the whole thing, he began to realize that if you got married, he would lose you, that you would forget him,” Amber said.
“So he decided to try to have my husband killed?” Jennifer said.
“I can't believe he went this far, thank god it didn't happen,” Amber said.
“There is a treaty with the families down here, Ethan and I are allies and best friends,” Paul said.
“How did he know about the mafia families,” Jennifer said.
“That's my fault,” Michael said.
“Dad?” Ethan asked.
“He came over the other day to talk about the whole marriage thing, I had the file of all the families on my desk and I left to get us drinks and I guess he looked in the file, that's the only explanation,” Michael said.
“What did you guys talk about?” Ethan asked.
“About you two being married and what it meant for the mafia, I thought I got through to him that he accepted it but I guess not,” Michael said.
“I'm done with him,” Jennifer said.
“Me too,” James said.
“Me too, Ethan, I don't care what you do to him, just hope he gets what he deserves,” Amber said.
“Ethan, I'll go in first with Paul and Jen,” Michael said. Ethan nodded. He kissed Jennifer.
“Love you baby,” Ethan said.
“Love you too,” Jennifer said. Michael, Jennifer, and Paul walked into the room where her father was. He sat in the chair with his arms tied to the arms of the chair. He looked at her.
“Jennifer,” David said.
“David,” Jennifer said.
“Why did you call me that?” David asked.
“Because you are not my father, I don't know who you are anymore,” Jennifer said.
“Why David, why send someone to kill my son,” Michael said.
“I wanted my daughter back,” David said.
“And I told you you would regret coming after my husband,” Jennifer said.
“Mr. Aspen, I'm Paul Russo, the guy you hired to take out Ethan,” Paul said.
“Is it done?” David asked.
“Well...” Paul said.
“No it's not done,” Ethan said. He came in with Amber and James.
“I forgot to tell you that there is a treaty with the mafia families here in and the ones in New York as well, Ethan and I are allies and best friends, you picked the wrong guy to send after your son-in-law,” Paul said.
“Why did you want him dead, David,” Amber said.
“I just wanted our baby girl back,” David said.
“I'm not a baby anymore!” Jennifer said.
“She's 25 years old! It's around the time she should be getting married and having kids, not being single because you can't let go of your baby girl, she's not little anymore, she is a grown woman who can make her own choices and your choices destroyed your relationship with her, not him, you alone!” James said angrily.
“I don't know who you are but you are not my husband, the man I married would never do something like this, it's like you are a complete stranger,” Amber said.
“Oh god!” David said.
“God can't help you now, father, you've crossed the line this time,” James said.
“There is no going back,” Amber said. Amber looked at Ethan and Michael and took James and Jennifer's hands and walked out of the room. The door closed.

James and Jennifer hugged their mom. Michael, Ethan, and Paul came out of the room. Ethan came over and Jennifer ran into his arms as she cried.
“Shhh baby,” Ethan said.
“Is he?” Jennifer asked.
“No,” Ethan said.
“What?” Jennifer said.
“I shot him as a warning,” Michael said.
“Michael,” Amber said.
“He begged us not to kill him, he would do anything we asked,” Michael said.
“Is he awake?” Amber asked.
“Yeah,” Michael said. She walked into the room and looked at her husband.
“Amber,” David said.
“Are you going to leave Ethan and Jennifer be or are you going to try to kill him again,” Amber said.
“I will do anything you ask,” David said.
“Will you accept Ethan as her husband and your son-in-law?” Amber asked.
“Amber,” David said.
“He loves her, David, she loves him, they proved it by getting married in Vegas, I saw how they looked at each other, it was like how I looked at you!” Amber said.
“Can I speak to them?” David asked. Ethan and Jennifer came into the room and looked at him.
“I'm so sorry to you both, I was just scared that I would never get to see you again, I deserve to be cut out of your life,” David said.
“I will never forgive you for trying to kill my husband, if you ever do anything like this again, I will be the one putting a bullet in you, goodbye David,” Jennifer said. She and Ethan walked out of the room and left the club and went home.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“Would you have killed him?” Jennifer asked.
“A part of me wanted to because he wanted me dead and leave you a widow,” Ethan said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, if I had killed him, how would you have felt?” Ethan asked.
“I don't know, I guess relieved a little knowing that he would not be able to do it again,” Jennifer said.
“I hope he got the message to not do it again, Paul was going to reach out to all the families and tell them what happened,” Ethan said. Her phone rang. She answered it.
“James?” Jennifer said.
“Sis, he's gone,” James said.
“What do you mean?” Jennifer asked.
“Dad got ahold of Seth's gun and shot himself in the head,” James said.
“Oh god,” Jennifer said.
“Sis, don't blame yourself okay, he told us before he did it that he couldn't live with what he did because it cost him you, he told us he deserved to be dead so he wouldn't cause any more problems,” James said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“Sis?” James asked.
“Where's Mom?” Jennifer asked.
“She's sobbing in Michael's arms,” James said.
“I can't believe this,” Jennifer said.
“Sis, we will have to go back to the company now to keep it going,” James said.
“I know,” Jennifer said. Tears started falling down her cheeks. Ethan came over to her.
“Sis, I'll get Mom and come there,” James said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. She hung up and texted him the address and went into Ethan's arms.
“Baby?” Ethan asked.
“He's gone,” Jennifer said. She told him what happened. Ethan held her tight against him.

Chapter 17

Three days later, they held the funeral. Ethan stood there holding her close as they listened to the pastor speak at the gravesite. They heard yelling and turned and saw Andy who worked at the company as a security guard.
“Stop,” Andy said.
“Andy, what's going on?” Amber asked.
“That's not David you are burying,” Andy said.
“What?” Jennifer asked.
“I was walking the building and went to the basement and I heard a noise and I opened the door and there was a man tied to a chair, I got close and looked and saw it was David or a guy who looked like him, he woke up and saw me and said my name so I knew it was him,” Andy said.
“Why would you say that?” James asked.
“The guy you are burying could never remember my name, he kept saying the wrong name when he saw me,” Andy said.
“And the guy you found?” Jennifer asked.
“He looked at me and said Andy,” Andy said.
“Where is he?” Amber asked.
“Hospital,” Andy said.
“You guys go, I'll take care of this,” Michael said. They went to the hospital and talked with a nurse and she led them to a room and they went in and saw him lying there in the bed. He opened his eyes and saw them.
“My love,” David said.
“David?” Amber asked.
“It's me, my love, I'm your husband,” David said.
“What happened to you?” Amber asked.
“I was in my office and someone knocked me out and I woke up tied to a chair and I saw him, he looked exactly like me, he said he was taking over my life, that I had the life he wanted, a wife and a son and a daughter, he said he was my twin brother and somehow got separated at birth and he was raised in a home where he got hurt a lot and starved at times,” David said.
“Oh my god,” Amber said.
“Amber, they took a blood test, they will be in with the results, my love it's me, we got married on August 25th, 1994, James and Jennifer were born April 25, 1995, you were three weeks early with them,” David said.
“Oh god,” Amber said.
“Daddy?” Jennifer asked.
“It's me, baby girl,” David said.
“Dad,” James said.
“It's me son,” David said.
“Hello, I'm Dr. Stevens, are you guys family?” the doctor asked.
“Depends on what the blood test says,” Amber said.
“Doc?” David asked.
“You are David Aspen,” Dr. Stevens said.
“Then I'm his wife and this is his son and daughter,” Amber said.
“This is my wife Ashley,” James said.
“This is Ethan, he's with me,” Jennifer said.
“Jen?” Ethan asked.
“Are you two dating?” David asked.
“We're married actually,” Jennifer said.
“Married?” David asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said.
“I missed a lot, who walked you down the aisle, my twin?” David asked.
“I did, we thought he was you and he wasn't supportive, in fact he went as far as to trying to have him killed,” James said.
“What!” David said. Amber explained everything that his twin did. David covered his face with his hands.
“I can't believe this,” David said.
“We didn't know he wasn't you,” Jennifer said.
“Baby girl, are you happy? In love?” David asked.
“Yes I am,” Jennifer said.
“Ethan, you love my daughter?” David asked.
“More than anything,” Ethan said.
“Then I'm happy for you both, take care of my baby girl,” David said.
“I will sir,” Ethan said.
“We need to find out if he is for sure your twin brother,” James said.
“I'll call my dad,” Ethan said. He left the room to make the call.

Chapter 18

The next day, Jennifer got up and showered and got dressed. Ethan woke up and saw her.
“Baby, where you going?” Ethan asked.
“I have a doctor's appointment for my shot,” Jennifer said.
“You want to stay on it?” Ethan asked.
“Didn't you say you wanted me to because you wanted me to yourself and that you don't share,” Jennifer said.
“I did say that, didn't I,” Ethan said.
“Yes you did, so what now, you change your mind?” Jennifer asked.
“Well, maybe,” Ethan said.
“Okay so how about this, I do this shot and I won't go back for another one,” Jennifer said.
“All right, baby, deal,” Ethan said. She smiled and kissed him deeply.
“I'm going to get the shot and go to work for a bit, I'll see you later,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, how about I be your chauffeur today, I need to go to the club to do paperwork, I can go with you to the doctor and take you to work and go to the club and you can text me when you are ready and I'll pick you up,” Ethan said.
“Okay, get moving,” Jennifer said. He got up and showered and got dressed and they went to the doctor. She got the shot and they left the office and he took her to the office and walked her up to her office. He kissed her deeply.
“I don't want to leave you, baby,” Ethan said.
“It won't be for long,” Jennifer said.
“A minute is too long,” Ethan said.
“Hey you two, you can see each other later, we have a meeting, sis,” James said.
“All right bro,” Jennifer said.
“I'll be back later, love you baby,” Ethan said.
“Love you too,” Jennifer said. He kissed her and left. James and Jennifer met their father in his office and went to the conference room for the meeting.
“James, Jennifer, this is Mark Davis, he wants to redesign his restaurant,” David said.
“Okay,” James said.
“Jennifer, you are lead designer, you can work with him on the design,” David said. James and Jennifer looked at each other and looked at him.
“Um, Dad, can we speak with you?” Jennifer asked.
“Sure honey,” David said.
“Excuse us for a minute,” James said. They went out the door and closed it.
“Jen, what's wrong?” David asked.
“You seriously don't see what's wrong?” Jennifer said.
“Dad, it seems you are trying to get her to work with him closely so she would leave Ethan,” James said.
“I told you that I support the marriage, I was being truthful about that,” David said.
“Then why have me work closely with him?” Jennifer asked.
“Because it's your job as lead designer,” David said.
“Dad,” James said.
“Baby, you have nothing to worry about, Mari is married to his husband, Jake,” David said.
“He's gay?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes honey, he told me about him and his husband needing to redesign their restaurant because the previous one messed up,” David said.
“Okay good, so Ethan will have nothing to worry about,” James said.
“I would never do something like that to you, honey, I know you love Ethan and I want you happy and you are,” David said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. They went back into the conference room to finish the meeting. They made plans and Mark left. Jennifer started working on the plans. She hadn't checked the time and she felt eyes on her and she looked up and saw her husband standing at the door.
“Hey gorgeous,” Ethan said.
“Hey handsome,” Jennifer said.
“I couldn't wait any longer,” Ethan said.
“What time is it?” Jennifer said.
“Four o'clock,” Ethan said.
“Wow, lost track of time,” Jennifer said.
“You okay baby?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, we have a new account, a restaurant,” Jennifer said.
“Oh,” Ethan said.
“Babe, you better sit down,” Jennifer said. He sat down and she told him what had happened at the meeting.
“So he's gay?” Ethan asked.
“That's what my dad said and he swore that it wasn't a plot to break us up,” Jennifer said.
“I hope not,” Ethan said.
“It's not, Ethan, I swear to you, he's married to a man,” David said.
“I hope you are telling the truth because I will not let her go, I love her with everything in me,” Ethan said.
“I know you do and you make her happy and that's all I want for my daughter,” David said.
“Okay then,” Ethan said.
“I'm going to head home with my husband,” Jennifer said.
“Okay honey, have a good night,” David said. She and Ethan went home and locked up and ate dinner before going to their room and showered together and they collapsed on the bed and made love off and on throughout the night before falling asleep in each other's arms.

Chapter 19

Two days later, Jennifer was working on the plans for Mark. James came in and sat down.
“What's up, bro,” Jennifer said.
“I checked out Mark to see if what Dad said was true,” James said.
“Okay and?” Jennifer asked.
“It's true, Ashley and I went to eat there and Mark saw us and came up to us and introduced us to his husband,” James said.
“So you met Jake,” Jennifer said.
“Yes and I did have a check ran on them, they are married and they are each an only child,” James said.
“Okay so nothing to worry about then?” Jennifer asked.
“Nope,” James said.
“Hey kids,” David said.
“Dad,” James said.
“Dad,” Jennifer said.
“Okay what's going on?” David asked.
“Just making sure you aren't breaking your promise,” James said.
“James,” David said.
“Dad, you know I will always protect my sister, that I will always look out for her,” James said.
“I know, son, and I'm proud of you for that, I am not trying to destroy my daughter's marriage, I swear to you on your mother's life,” David said.
“Why you swearing,” Amber said.
“Our son and daughter think that I'm trying to set our daughter up with a client who is happily married to his husband,” David said.
“James, Jennifer, I've talked with him about everything and he is sincere about this, he is happy and supportive of your marriage to Ethan,” Amber said.
“I'm just sad I couldn't walk you down the aisle,” David said.
“I can plan a family wedding,” Jennifer said.
“That would be wonderful,” Amber said.
“It would be like a vow renewal of sorts,” David said.
“In a way, yes, we discussed it with Michael before we left for Vegas, we thought you didn't support us because we didn't know it was your twin in your place and he said to go get married in Vegas and if you came around, that we would have a family wedding,” Jennifer said.
“Honey, get to planning,” David said.
“I can't wait!” Amber said.
“Okay Mom, we can start planning tomorrow,” Jennifer said.
“Okay honey, I'm going to go get some bridal magazines,” Amber said. She went out of the room.
“I've never seen her that excited,” David said.
“She gets to plan her daughter's wedding,” James said.
“I better let Ethan know,” Jennifer said. She got out her phone and called him.
“There's my gorgeous wife,” Ethan said.
“Hey handsome, so I have some news, we are going to have a family wedding,” Jennifer said.
“Okay I'll let my dad know and Becca, so she can help plan it with you,” Ethan said.
“My mom is helping as well, she just left to get some bridal magazines, she was so excited,” Jennifer said.
“Your father on board with this?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, he was sad he didn't get the chance to walk me down the aisle so now he is glad he will get to,” Jennifer said.
“Okay baby, I'll be there in an hour, okay?” Ethan said.
“Okay, love you,” Jennifer said.
“Love you baby,” Ethan said. She hung up and looked at her father and brother.
“He's for it?” James asked.
“Yeah he's calling Michael and he will call Becca also so she can help plan as well,” Jennifer said.
“Honey, I can't wait to walk you down the aisle,” David said.
“Dad, it means a lot to me that you are happy for me,” Jennifer said.
“I don't want to do anything that will cost me to lose my family, you three are everything to me,” David said. James hugged his father. Jennifer got up and joined the hug. David held them close to him.
“I love you both so much,” David said.
“We love you Daddy,” Jennifer said.
“We love you Dad,” James said. They heard sniffling and they saw Amber smiling with tears in her eyes.
“Come here baby,” David said. Amber joined their hug and David held his family to him.

Chapter 20

Three weeks later, Jennifer finished up with the restaurant and Mark and Jake were thrilled and told her that she and Ethan were welcome to eat there anytime and their meals would be free. She walked into the club and went to the office and heard voices.
“I told you to leave now!” Ethan said.
“Ethan, please, I love you!” a woman said.
“You were a fling, nothing more and it was four years ago, I'm married now and I love my wife!” Ethan said.
“Ethan, she won't know,” the woman said.
“I will never ever cheat on my wife!” Ethan said. Jennifer walked into the office and saw a woman standing in front of the desk.
“Get away from my husband, bitch,” Jennifer said.
“This is your wife?” Sarah asked.
“And you must be a fling who can't let go,” Jennifer said.
“I can't let go, I'm in love with him,” Sarah said.
“Your obsession with my husband ends now!” Jennifer said.
“You do not want to mess with me, I'll make your life a living hell, so if you want to have a peaceful life, you will walk out this door and file for a divorce from him and disappear from his life,” Sarah said.
“Did you just threaten me?” Jennifer said. They heard a click and they looked and saw Ethan pointing a gun. Jennifer moved around and stood beside him. Seth and Alex came in and took her arms.
“You threatened my wife, you are done,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, please,” Sarah said.
“No, Sarah, you don't threaten my wife and get away with it, guys, take her to the cells,” Ethan said. Seth and Alex tied her up and took her out. Ethan put his gun up and took her in his arms.
“You okay baby,” Ethan said.
“Yeah, how many more are there,” Jennifer said.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“Tell me,” Jennifer said.
“Many,” Ethan said.
“How many,” Jennifer said.
“Two dozen,” Ethan said.
“Seriously?” Jennifer asked.
“I wasn't ready to settle down,” Ethan said.
“And now you are,” Jennifer said.
“I was at the point that I was getting bored and wanted to start to settle down and find a wife and have a family, the next day I saw your picture and I knew you were the one,” Ethan said.
“I hope there are no more of them wanting you for themselves, I don't want to spend all my time fighting them off,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, baby, do you trust me?” Ethan asked.
“With my life,” Jennifer said.
“I love you more than anything in the world, I would give my life for you,” Ethan said.
“I love you too,” Jennifer said. He kissed her deeply. There was a knock at the door.
“Yeah?” Ethan said.
“Boss, Daniel is here to see you,” Seth said.
“Oh great,” Ethan said.
“Who's that?” Jennifer asked.
“Sarah's brother,” Ethan said.
“Do you get along with him?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah but who knows since today,” Ethan said. Seth brought Daniel into the office.
“Ethan hello,” Daniel said.
“Daniel, hello, this is my wife, Jennifer,” Ethan said.
“Congratulations on the marriage,” Daniel said.
“Thanks, what brings you by,” Ethan said.
“My sister, she told me she was coming to see you and I've been trying to call her but got no answer but the locator on her phone says her last location said here,” Daniel said.
“Oh she was here,” Ethan said.
“She came wanting you back and met you wife huh,” Daniel said.
“And threatened me,” Jennifer said.
“She threatened you, what did she do?” Daniel asked.
“Told me she would make my life a living hell, she said if I wanted to have a peaceful life, that I was to leave and file for divorce from Ethan and disappear from his life,” Jennifer said.
“I can't believe this, she knew it was just one time thing, I thought not hearing from you after that one time would tell her that you didn't want something more, I heard you tell her that it would not be anything more, that you weren't ready, but she held out hope that you would change your mind, she sat in her room staring at her phone,” Daniel said.
“Oh my god,” Jennifer said.
“She sat in her room waiting for a call that would never come,” Ethan said.
“My dad, my mom, and I told her that you moved on and to just get on with her life, she tried but I guess she was still hung up on you, she's never had a boyfriend longer than a year, she hoped and prayed you would come for her,” Daniel said.
“She's downstairs in a cell right now,” Ethan said.
“Okay, have Seth and Alex take her to the mental hospital and put her there indefinitely,” Daniel said.
“You could being her brother,” Jennifer said.
“I'll meet them there, I need to tell my parents,” Daniel said.
“Won't they try to stop it?” Jennifer asked.
“I don't believe so, not after what I tell them she did,” Daniel said.
“Thanks man,” Ethan said.
“Have a good night,” Daniel said. He left. Ethan hugged her close to him.

Chapter 21

The next day, Jennifer sat in her office going over some paperwork when there was a knock at the door. She looked up and saw someone she never thought she would see again standing there.
“What the hell are you doing here?!” Jennifer said.
“Hello Jennifer, I came to see you,” Nathan said.
“Why bother, I want nothing to do with you,” Jennifer said.
“Come on, Jennifer, we dated all through high school,” Nathan said.
“Then I found you in bed with my former best friend,” Jennifer said.
“It was a mistake!” Nathan said.
“A mistake, so you just fell into her bed naked and your dick just happened to fall into her,” Jennifer said.
“No, sleeping with her was a mistake, she just wanted what you had, once you dumped me, she went onto the next guy,” Nathan said.
“So all she wanted was us to break up,” Jennifer said.
“She wanted you alone and miserable, she was jealous of your life, she wanted to hurt you,” Nathan said.
“So where is she now?” Jennifer asked.
“Last I heard, living the life of luxury here in Miami, married to some rich guy,” Nathan said.
“Name?” Jennifer asked.
“Daniel Sawyer,” Nathan said.
“What did you say?” Jennifer asked.
“Her husband's name is Daniel Sawyer,” Nathan said.
“Excuse me,” Jennifer said. She got out her phone and sent a text to Ethan.
“Jen,” Nathan said.
“Sorry, just had to text my husband about something,” Jennifer said.
“You got married,” Nathan said.
“Yes I did, he's amazing,” Jennifer said.
“I hope she doesn't find out,” Nathan said.
“Oh she will but she won't be able to do anything about it,” Jennifer said.
“What do you mean?” Nathan asked.
“My husband is friends with hers, actually he had a fling with his sister four years ago, I just met Daniel yesterday,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer?” Daniel asked.
“Hi Daniel,” Jennifer said.
“Who is this?” Daniel asked.
“This is my ex-boyfriend from high school, Nathan Rogers, he told me something quite interesting,” Jennifer said.
Oh?” Daniel said.
“About your wife,” Nathan said.
“What about her,” Daniel said.
“She's the reason I broke up with Nathan, she used to be my best friend until I found her in her bed with Nathan,” Jennifer said.
“So you cheated on Jennifer with my wife?” Daniel asked.
“Yes, it was a mistake because as soon as Jennifer and I broke up, your wife went onto the next guy, she got the result she wanted,” Nathan said.
“And what was that?” Daniel asked.
“She was jealous of my life so she wanted me alone and miserable,” Jennifer said.
“She wanted to hurt you,” Daniel said.
“She wanted me to have nothing, no guy, nothing,” Jennifer said.
“I can't believe this, go to Ethan and I'll get her and bring her to the club, Nathan, you be there too,” Daniel said. He left. Jennifer looked at Nathan.
“I know we can't change the past, and I know you have moved on, but can we at least be civil, maybe friends?” Nathan asked.
“We will see, come on,” Jennifer said. She got James to go with them and told him what was going on and they went to the club. She introduced Nathan to Ethan.
“So you want to be friends with my wife?” Ethan asked.
“I said either that or just be civil,” Nathan said.
“We will see,” Ethan said.
“Boss, Daniel is here with his wife,” Seth said.
“I'm going to stand by the door and sneak out,” Jennifer said.
“He put a blindfold on her,” Seth said.
“Perfect,” Jennifer said. Daniel brought his wife in and helped her sit down. Jennifer snuck out with James but stood outside the door where she could hear everything. Daniel took off the blindfold and his wife looked and saw Nathan standing there with Ethan. She looked at her husband.
“Daniel, what's going on?” Tanya asked.
“You tell me, Tanya, you remember Nathan right?” Daniel asked.
“Yeah from high school,” Tanya said.
“And what you did,” Daniel said.
“Daniel,” Tanya said.
“Did you or did you not sleep with him while he was in a relationship?” Daniel asked.
“Yes,” Tanya said.
“And she was your best friend?” Daniel asked.
“I never liked her,” Tanya said.
“So you faked the friendship?” Daniel asked
“She had the life I wanted, I became popular because of her,” Tanya said.
“So you used her,” Daniel said.
“Yes,” Tanya said.
“You bitch,” Nathan said.
“She didn't deserve you, you deserved better than her, she deserved to be alone and miserable, I made sure no guy would date her, I told all of them that she was the one who cheated on you, none of them wanted to be with a girl who would cheat,” Tanya said.
“So you lied to all the guys in high school,” Daniel said.
“It was seven years ago, Daniel, I'm not the same person I was then,” Tanya said.
“What would you say to her now if she was here,” Daniel said.
“Yeah, Tanya, what would you say to me?” Jennifer asked. Tanya turned and saw her standing at the door with James.
“Jen?” Tanya asked.
“You call me Jennifer, only real friends call me Jen,” Jennifer said. She came over and slapped her across the face.

Chapter 22
Jennifer stood there glaring at her former friend who held her cheek and looked at her.
“Did I mention that Jennifer is Ethan's wife?” Daniel asked.
“Oh god,” Tanya said.
“Scared?” Jennifer asked.
“She knows that Ethan is the most feared among the mafia families,” Daniel said.
“If you only knew back in high school that she would become his wife,” Nathan said.
“Nathan,” Tanya said.
“You used me to destroy her life, but as you can see, her life is not destroyed, she is happily married to Ethan,” Nathan said.
“Tanya,” Daniel said.
“Daniel,” Tanya said.
“Do you love me?” Daniel asked.
“More than life,” Tanya said.
“So you aren't using me?” Daniel asked.
“God no, I would never do that!” Tanya said.
“So him being rich and mafia leader and all that, wouldn't have something to do with it?” Jennifer asked.
“I fell in love with him before I knew about that, when I met him, I thought he was just a manager at a club, only after we got engaged, he told me the truth, I was already deeply in love with him, I would love him if he was a normal guy,” Tanya said.
“So you wanted me to have nothing” Jennifer said.
“I was an idiot back then, I've changed, Jennifer!” Tanya said.
“I would like to to believe that, I really thought of you as a friend, I actually thought of you as a sister, but it was all a lie!” Jennifer said.
“I'm sorry!” Tanya said.
“You used me!” You destroyed my relationship with Nathan! You destroyed me! You wanted me to have nothing!” Jennifer said.
“I'm so sorry!” Tanya said.
“Get her out of here, I never want to see you ever again,” Jennifer said.
“Um Jen?” Ethan asked.
“What, Ethan?” Jennifer said.
“There will be mafia parties to attend, every mafia family will be there so you would see her at the parties,” Ethan said.
“Fine, I'll only see you at parties but don't expect me to speak to you like friends, I may be cordial but I will not be your friend ever again,” Jennifer said.
“I understand,” Tanya said.
“And don't you even think of trying to destroy my life again, because I will destroy yours,” Jennifer said.
“I promise,” Tanya said.
“Let's go dear,” Daniel said. He took her out the door. Jennifer went into Ethan's arms.
“Baby, you okay?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah, I can't believe all this,” Jennifer said.
“I should get going, goodbye Jennifer,” Nathan said.
“Goodbye Nathan,” Jennifer said. He left. James came over to them.
“I never liked either one of them,” James said.
“Oh James, if you could have only predicted what was going to happen then,” Jennifer said.
“I wish I could have,” James said.
“Thanks for having my back, bro,” Jennifer said.
“Always, sis,” James said.
“I better get back to work,” Jennifer said.
“I'll be there soon to pick you up baby,” Ethan said.
“Love you,” Jennifer said.
“Love you too baby,” Ethan said. He kissed her and she left with James and went back to the company and they went to their offices. Amber came in and she told her mom what happened.
“I should have known,” Amber said.
“Mom, how could I have not seen it,” Jennifer said.
“You were young and you wanted a best friend,” Amber said.
“I had friends,” Jennifer said.
“I know honey, I'm just glad you know the truth now,” Amber said. Amber hugged her daughter and left the office. Jennifer went back to work.

Chapter 23

Two months later, Jennifer sat in the bathroom at the house looking at the tiny stick in her hand. She smiled at the results. She looked at the others on the counter. She wanted to surprise Ethan with the news. He assumed she stayed on the shot but she didn't go back for one when it was due. She was ready to start a family. She hoped Ethan was ready as well.
“Baby, I'm home!” Ethan said.
“I'm in the bathroom!” Jennifer said.
“You okay baby?” Ethan asked.
“I'm just perfect,” Jennifer said. He came in and saw the tests and looked at her.
“Jen, are those?” Ethan asked.
“Yep,” Jennifer said.
“All positive?” Ethan asked.
“Yep,” Jennifer said.
“I thought you stayed on the shot?” Ethan asked.
“I decided not to, I wanted to surprise you by taking these tests,” Jennifer said.
“Oh god Jen, I'm going to be a father?” Ethan asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said. He took her in his arms and held her close and buried his face in her neck.
“Oh god baby, you have no idea how happy I am, I have wanted this since our wedding night,” Ethan said.
“Speaking of a wedding, next week is our family wedding,” Jennifer said.
“I can't wait to see you walking down the aisle to me on your dad's arm,” Ethan said.
“We are not spending the night apart before the wedding, I can' sleep well without you,” Jennifer said.
“Me neither baby,” Ethan said.
“Let's go to the doctor,” Jennifer said.
“Yeah let's go,” Ethan said. They went to the doctor and got tests done and the pregnancy confirmed and got all the info needed and went to her parents' house and told them the news.
“I'm going to be a grandmother!” Amber said.
“A grandfather, congratulations you two,” David said.
“About the wedding next week, we are not doing the tradition of spending the night before the wedding apart, absolutely not, we can't sleep well without each other,” Ethan said.
“But it's tradition,” Amber said.
“Honey, they are married already, tradition is out the window here,” David said.
“Fine,” Amber said.
“We are going to head over and tell Michael about the baby,” Jennifer said.
“Okay, see you tomorrow,” David said. Jennifer and Ethan went to Michael's house and told him the news along with Eric and Becca who were there.
“Oh my god, so am I!” Becca said.
“Really? Thank goodness I won't be going through this alone!” Jennifer said. Her phone beeped and she sent a text.
“Baby?” Ethan asked.
“James has some news and wondered where we were, I told him we were here,” Jennifer said.
“I bet Ashley is pregnant,” Becca said.
“Oh boy,” Eric said.
“What,” Becca said.
“Three of you pregnant at the same time, lord help us with three hormonal women,” Eric said.
“Bro,” Ethan said.
“You did not just say that,” Becca said.
“Bec, I read it in a book about pregnancy, I wanted to be ready for anything so after you went to sleep last night, I read the book you got,” Eric said.
“He's got a point actually,” Jennifer said.
“Yeah true,” Becca said.
“But I heard that pregnancy brings out the sex drive in the women,” Jennifer said.
“I read that too, so bro, be ready for lots and lots of sex,” Eric said.
“Couldn't keep my hands off her anyways,” Ethan said.
“Love you babe,” Jennifer said.
“Love you too baby,” Ethan said. Michael let James and Ashley in.
“Sis,” James said.
“We have news,” Ashley said.
“You're pregnant,” Jennifer said.
“How did you?” James asked.
“We are too,” Ethan said.
“So are we,” Eric said.
“All three of us girls are pregnant?!” Ashley said.
“Yep, I'm two months along,” Becca said.
“I'm three weeks along,” Jennifer said.
“I'm four weeks,” Ashley said.
“We are so close together!” Jennifer said.
“Oh my goodness!” Becca said. The girls went to talk about everything. The guys stood there watching them.

Chapter 24

The next day, Jennifer was sitting in the office at the club with Ethan.
“Now who is coming here today?” Jennifer asked.
“New mafia guy, he just moved to town and met with all the other leaders and I'm last on the list before we all met to decide if we should add him to the treaty,” Ethan said.
“What if you don't add him?” Jennifer asked.
“We will have to risk a war to get him out of town,” Ethan said.
“Oh, could it come to that?” Jennifer asked.
“I don't know baby, Daniel met with him yesterday as did Paul and they seem to think he's legit,” Ethan said.
“So they think he's worthy of being added,” Jennifer said.
“They seemed impressed with him, and it's hard to impress those two, I've known them since we were kids,” Ethan said.
“Boss, he's here,” Alex said.
“Thanks man,” Ethan said. Seth brought him in and he sat down.
“Matthew, hello, I'm Ethan Ross, this is my wife, Jennifer,” Ethan said.
“Hello,” Matthew said.
“Hello,” Jennifer said.
“How you liking Miami so far?” Ethan asked.
“It's been good so far, and now I'm liking it even more,” Matthew said. Jennifer noticed him looking her over.
“Are you checking out my wife?” Ethan asked.
“It's hard not to, you've got a beautiful wife,” Matthew said.
“Yes I do, we are expecting our first child, we found out yesterday,” Ethan said.
“Congratulations,” Matthew said.
“Thanks,” Jennifer said.
“What does your family specialize in?” Ethan asked.
“In LA, we supplied guns and vests to LAPD, my brother took over out there so we could expand our business,” Matthew said.
“Well, we supply guns, vests, gloves, and ammo to Miami PD, but it's hard to keep up at times, we could use more suppliers in the city,” Ethan said.
“Well now it will happen,” Matthew said.
“There is a meeting tomorrow to see about adding you to the treaty here in Miami,” Ethan said.
“Do I need to be there?” Matthew asked.
“Well yes, but not at the beginning,” Ethan said.
“Then I shall see you tomorrow then,” Matthew said.
“Okay then thanks for coming by,” Ethan said. Matthew shook his hand and smiled at Jennifer and went out the door.
“Baby what's wrong?” Ethan asked.
“I didn't like the way he looked at me,” Jennifer said.
“I know baby, me either,” Ethan said.
“You saw it too,” Jennifer said.
“Of course I did,” Ethan said.
“I'm not sure about being around him,” Jennifer said.
“Baby I won't let anything happen to you,” Ethan said.
“I know, I doubt anything will,” Jennifer said.
“I'll see what happens tomorrow,” Ethan said.
“I don't need to go, right?” Jennifer asked.
“No baby,” Ethan said.
“Okay, I'll be at work then,” Jennifer said.
“How you feeling today baby?” Ethan asked.
“I'm okay for now, I dread morning sickness,” Jennifer said.
“I hope it ain't too bad for you,” Ethan said.
“I hope not either,” Jennifer said. He kissed her softly as he pulled her in his lap and held her close to him.

Chapter 25

The next day, Ethan was at the meeting. Jennifer was at work in her office. James came in and sat down.
“What's up sis?” James asked.
“Just working,” Jennifer said.
“Where's hubby?” James asked.
“A meeting with the mafia leaders to decide whether to let a new guy from LA into the treaty,” Jennifer said.
“Oh really, what's he like?” James asked.
“I don't know, I think he wants me, he wouldn't stop checking me out and he kept staring at me and he called me beautiful,” Jennifer said.
“So you think he will want to fight Ethan for you or try something,” James said.
“I have a bad feeling about him,” Jennifer said.
“Keep your guard up, sis, okay, if you feel that way, he's bad news,” James said.
“I will bro,” Jennifer said. James went back to his office. Jennifer continued working on her paperwork. There was a knock at the door. She looked up and saw Matthew standing there.
“Hello Jennifer,” Matthew said.
“Hello what are you doing here, shouldn't you be at the meeting,” Jennifer said.
“I was,” Matthew said.
“So how come you are here,” Jennifer said.
“I came for you,” Matthew said.
“I'm married,” Jennifer said.
“Oh that doesn't bother me,” Matthew said. He moved closer to her desk and leaned on it.
“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry but I want you to leave now, I love my husband and I will not destroy my marriage, go back to your dreams because that's the only place you will have me, in your dreams, please go now!” Jennifer said.
“You will be mine,” Matthew said.
“I will never be yours, never in a million years, I will never be with you even if you were the last man on this earth,” Jennifer said.
“What's going on here,” David said.
“He was just leaving,” Jennifer said.
“Not without me getting to meet my future father-in-law,” Matthew said.
“I am married to Ethan and that's where I'm staying!” Jennifer said.
“Who is this guy,” David said.
“Matthew Riker, he moved here from LA and he seems to think that I'll be his but he is so dreaming,” Jennifer said.
“Get out of my building and stay away from my daughter,” David said.
“Get out now asshole!” James said.
“Fine I'll go for now, but I'll be coming for you, Jennifer, you will be mine, I guarantee it!” Matthew said. He went out the door. David and James took her in their arms.
“Ethan, where is he,” Jennifer said.
“James, call him,” David said. James went to call him. David held her close.
“I'm scared Daddy,” Jennifer said.
“It'll be okay honey,” David said.
“Jen baby!” Ethan said. She cried and ran into his arms. David told him what happened.
“He said he's coming for me, he thinks he's going to marry me, Ethan, what happened at that meeting,” Jennifer said.
“They voted him in and he signed and they said he should look for a wife and he said he's got his eye on one and he smiled at me and left, I met with my father to see what I could do,” Ethan said.
“I'm scared Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“I won't let him get you, baby, you are my wife, my everything,” Ethan said.
“You guys should go away for awhile,” James said.
“What about work” Jennifer asked.
“Honey, we will be fine, okay, your safety comes first,” David said. She hugged them and left with Ethan and they went home and packed. He had his men securing the house and he had the other leaders keeping Matthew and his men busy. Ethan and Jennifer gave their phones to Seth and took untraceable ones and left the house and went to his plane and took off for their destination. The plane landed and a car was waiting for them and Ethan drove for a few hours. They ended up in Vermont and settled into a house under a different name.
“Baby, we are now Tanner and Missi Davis,” Ethan said.
“Okay Tanner,” Jennifer said.
“Okay Missi,” Ethan said.
“What about a doctor?” Jennifer asked.
“I'll figure something out honey,” Ethan said.
“What if he goes after our family to get to us,” Jennifer said.
“Well he won't find them,” Ethan said.
“What?” Jennifer asked.
“While we were disappearing from the city, so were they,” Ethan said.
“So my dad shut down the company,” Jennifer said.
“Until the other leaders can take him out legally,” Ethan said.
“What needs to happen for that,” Jennifer said. He sat down and told her everything.

Chapter 26

Three weeks later, they were still in Vermont. Ethan had been in contact with Alex and Seth who were taking care of things back home and talking through untraceable phones. Ethan told her that if someone tired to trace it, it would say they were in Seattle or California. He found her a doctor who did house calls and was very private about things. Jennifer walked into the living room where Ethan was talking on the phone with Seth.
“That's great news, man, I'll let her know, yeah man, talk to you later, bye,” Ethan said. He hung up and looked at her and she sat down and snuggled against him.
“What's up?” Jennifer asked.
“The other leaders ran Matthew out of town,” Ethan said.
“But he could come back,” Jennifer said.
“Not unless he can come back from the dead,” Ethan said.
“What?” Jennifer asked.
“Daniel, Paul, and the rest of the leaders shot and killed him, Seth and Alex witnessed it, Matthew tried to take my father out but was caught by Eric and Becca and they took him to the cells and called the leaders and my dad told them what happened, my dad is so respected by the other leaders that they wanted him dead so they all took him out,” Ethan said.
“So it's safe now?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes baby we can go home now,” Ethan said. They packed up and locked up the house there and headed home to Miami. Once they arrived home, they went to the house and went in.
“Home sweet home,” Jennifer said.
“I had the guys check the house, it's all good,” Ethan said.
“I just want to move on and focus on us and our baby,” Jennifer said. He smiled and hugged her from behind and rubbed her stomach.
“I'm so excited to be a father,” Ethan said.
“I could see you holding our baby in your arms,” Jennifer said.
“Me too baby, I can see our baby in your arms,” Ethan said. The doorbell rang. Ethan looked out and opened the door and saw the family. They came in and hugged them.
“Oh my baby girl!” Amber said. Jennifer hugged her mom. David hugged them. James joined the hug.
“Dad, how you doing,” Ethan said.
“I'm okay son,” Michael said.
“I talked to Paul and Daniel, they told the police it was a hit by a mafia family from LA, they questioned them and they had no idea about the hit but said it was probably a guy who wanted to be in the family but that Matthew said no,” Eric said.
“So he's definitely gone gone,” Jennifer said.
“Yes sis he is, you are safe now,” Eric said.
“Now girls we have missed some time we could have spent doing things together and we did promise to do everything together during our pregnancies so let's get caught up on everything,” Ashley said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. They hugged and kissed their husbands and opened the door and saw someone standing there that made them freeze in their tracks.

Chapter 27

Jennifer, Ashley, and Becca stood there at the door looking at the person standing there. The guys came to the door. Ethan and Eric pulled out their guns as James pulled the girls back behind them. David and Michael stood in front of the girls.
“What the hell!” Ethan said.
“Ethan?” Matthew asked.
“How is he alive?” Jennifer asked.
“What's going on?” Matthew asked.
“How are you alive?” Michael asked.
“Boss,” Seth said.
“We have the answer to that,” Alex said.
“Guys?” Ethan asked.
“He showed up at the club and we immediately drew our guns on him,” Seth said.
“We tied him to a chair, he didn't give much of a fight,” Alex said.
“They told me everything that happened the last few weeks, that was my twin brother,” Matthew said.
“Another evil twin,” David said.
“What?” Matthew asked.
“So you are the real Matthew Riker,” Ethan said.
“Yes I got into town this morning, I've been in New York for the last couple of months, I left my brother back in LA to be in charge there but he decided to come to Miami and pretend to be me,” Matthew said.
“Did you know all that he did?” Michael asked.
“Yeah Alex and Seth told me, about he was going to steal Ethan's wife away from him, I would never do something like that, I respect other people's marriages, I would never destroy a marriage,” Matthew said.
“I'm Jennifer, Ethan's wife,” Jennifer said.
“Nice to meet you, Jennifer, and you are beautiful and all but you belong to Ethan and I will not try to take you from him, I promise you that,” Matthew said.
“Thank you,” Jennifer said.
“Sir, you said something about an evil twin?” Matthew asked.
“After Ethan and Jennifer got together, I was in my office and got knocked out and woke up in the basement of my company and saw a guy who looked exactly like me, he said he was my twin brother and got separated at birth and he wanted to take over my life, he pretty much did for awhile until I was found by the security guard and I found out that he tried to have Ethan killed,” David said.
“I hope he paid for that,” Matthew said.
“He killed himself,” Jennifer said.
“Probably didn't want Ethan to do it,” Matthew said.
“I would have done it,” Ethan said.
“I'm James, Jennifer's twin brother,” James said.
“I'm his wife Ashley,” Ashley said.
“I'm David, Jennifer's father,” David said.
“I'm her mother, Amber,” Amber said.
“Nice to meet you all,” Matthew said.
“Nice to meet the real you,” Jennifer said.
“I swear I'm the real Matthew Riker,” Matthew said. Jennifer's phone rang. She went to answer it.
“Ethan, I met with the leaders here and told them about my brother and they redid the treaty and I signed it, I want us to be allies,” Matthew said.
“It's good, man, I can see you are being truthful,” Ethan said.
“My brother was a womanizer, when he saw a woman he wanted, he would do anything to get her, I'm glad you kept Jennifer safe,” Matthew said.
“She's everything to me,” Ethan said.
“And so are you to me,” Jennifer said.
“Baby what was that about?” Ethan asked.
“My best friend from college is coming to town to live here, I offered her a room here until she got a place so she wouldn't have to live in a hotel,” Jennifer said.
“Callie's coming?” James asked.
“Yes James,” Jennifer said.
“You know her?” Ashley asked.
“She came home with Jen every school break because she didn't want to go home to her parents because they were always fighting and she didn't want to deal with it so she came home with Jen to have some peace and quiet,” James said.
“Did you guys date?” Ashley asked.
“We went on one date and realized that we felt more like siblings than anything, she's like another sister to me,” James said.
“I should get going, I need to find me a place to live,” Matthew said.
“You can stay at my house with me, Matthew, I'm alone there, could use some company,” Michael said.
“Thank you, Michael, I appreciate it, I'll follow you there,” Matthew said. They left. Everyone else slowly followed. Ethan locked up and hugged Jennifer close.

Chapter 28

Jennifer checked the house and straightened out everything.
“Baby it's okay,” Ethan said.
“I just want it to be perfect,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, she's coming to see you, not the house,” Ethan said.
“I know, I just don't want a mess here,” Jennifer said.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“I know I should be resting, maybe it's my hormones,” Jennifer said.
“You still are beautiful,” Ethan said.
“I love you,” Jennifer said.
“I love you,” Ethan said. He kissed her softly and they heard the doorbell ring. Jennifer opened the door and saw Callie.
“Callie,” Jennifer said.
“Jen!” Callie said. They hugged as Callie stepped into the house and Jennifer closed the door.
“I've missed you so much,” Jennifer said.
“I missed you too, let's go meet your hubby,” Callie said. They came into the living room and Ethan stood up.
“Callie Tucker, this is my husband, Ethan Ross,” Jennifer said.
“Nice to meet you Callie,” Ethan said.
“You too Ethan,” Callie said. They sat down and talked about everything that's happened since college.
“I'm sorry to hear about your mom,” Jennifer said.
“Thank you, it was hard watching her slip away,” Callie said. Jennifer nodded as she rubbed her stomach.
“And I hear congratulations are in order for you both,” Callie said.
“Thank you,” Jennifer said.
“Thank you,” Ethan said.
“So you and both of your sisters-in-law are all pregnant together,” Callie said.
“Yes, his brother's wife is further along than me and James's wife,” Jennifer said.
“I think by two weeks or three at the most,” Ethan said.
“And this all wasn't planned,” Callie said.
“Nope,” Jennifer said.
“We told them we were expecting and then they said they found out that morning as well,” Ethan said.
“It was definitely not planned but we are all glad we won't be going through all this alone,” Jennifer said. The doorbell rang. Ethan got up and wen to get it.
“Does he have any friends who are single,” Callie said.
“I think I know someone who is,” Jennifer said.
“Dad, Matthew, this is Callie, Jen's best friend from college,” Ethan said.
“I'm Ethan's father, Michael,” Michael said. Matthew just stared at Callie who stared back.
“Uh hi I'm Matthew, family friend,” Matthew said.
“I'm Callie, family friend as well,” Callie said.
“Um guys, you both are single, staring at each other, go out on a date, I know you want to,” Jennifer said.
“Jen!” Callie said.
“She's right, would you like to go out on a date with me?” Matthew asked.
“Yes,” Callie said.
“How about now?” Matthew asked.
“Well I just got in awhile ago and was catching up with Jen,” Callie said.
“Go on, we've got plenty of time,” Jennifer said.
“You sure?” Callie asked.
“Yes now go have a good time,” Jennifer said.
“Okay then,” Callie said.
“Michael?” Matthew asked.
“I'll have Ethan run me home,” Michael said. Matthew nodded and he and Callie left. Jennifer looked at Ethan as he pulled her close to him.

Chapter 29

Three hours later, Jennifer and Ethan snuggled together in the living room watching a movie.
“How do you think the date is going?” Jennifer asked.
“I'm not sure baby, you worried?” Ethan asked.
“She's been hurt before, Ethan, I hope Matthew treats her right,” Jennifer said.
“My dad said he and Matthew have been hanging out and he got to know him and he's nothing like his twin brother,” Ethan said.
“I just want her to be happy again,” Jennifer said.
“Baby what happened,” Ethan said.
“Her ex cheated on her, they were together for three years and he cheated on her the whole time,” Jennifer said.
“Damn what happened to the guy,” Ethan said.
“Living with his girlfriend in Seattle, the one he cheated with,” Jennifer said.
“I know some guys in Seattle,” Ethan said.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“He shouldn't get away with this,” Ethan said.
“Get away with what?” Callie asked. They saw Callie standing there with Matthew.
“What's going on?” Matthew asked.
“I told him, Callie,” Jennifer said.
“About jackass,” Callie said.
“Yep,” Jennifer said.
“And he wants to go after him?” Callie asked. Ethan looked at her and looked at Jennifer.
“I told her after I found out,” Jennifer said.
“I know Matthew is too,” Callie said.
“What's going on,” Matthew said.
“Callie, tell him,” Jennifer said.
“My ex boyfriend cheated on me for three years,” Callie said.
“How long were you guys together?” Matthew asked.
“Same,” Callie said.
“Ethan, let's take a trip,” Matthew said.
“Guys,” Jennifer said.
“He can't get away with hurting Callie like that,” Matthew said.
“Matthew,” Callie said.
“He made you think you weren't enough,” Matthew said.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“If it was Nathan who cheated on you for that long, I would have done the same,” Ethan said.
“Go get him,” Callie said.
“You want me dead or alive?” Matthew asked.
“Make him suffer, keep him alive but bound to a wheelchair forever,” Callie said.
“Let's go,” Ethan said.
“Here's the address, he gave it to me to send the rest of his things to him because he didn't want to come back to the house we shared,” Callie said. Matthew nodded and he and Ethan left. Callie sat down.
“How was the date?” Jennifer asked.
“Amazing and we are official,” Callie said.
“I'm happy for you,” Jennifer said.
“He told me about what his twin did, I'm glad you didn't get hurt,” Callie said.
“Ethan made sure of it,” Jennifer said.
“You have a great guy, Jen,” Callie said.
“I love him so much, we got married after only three weeks of dating and I never thought I could love someone as much as I love him,” Jennifer said.
“Have you ran into Nathan?” Callie asked.
“Yeah he came to see me at the office,” Jennifer said. Jennifer told her everything that happened.
“I can't believe that witch, she was so jealous of your life that she wanted to destroy you, no wonder it took you awhile to become friends with me, you were scared of it happening again,” Callie said.
“But you proved me wrong, Callie, you became the best friend I should have had in high school, you became a sister to me,” Jennifer said.
“And the same goes for me, you were there for me when I needed you, you became my family when I hardly had one, your family took me in when my family was falling apart,” Callie said.
“And you always will be family, sis,” James said. Callie smiled and got up and hugged him.
“Hey bro,” Callie said.
“Missed you sis, this is my wife, Ashley,” James said.
“Nice to meet you, Callie, I heard good things about you,” Ashley said.
“Nice to meet you as well, I heard you are expecting, congratulations to you both,” Callie said.
“Thanks Aunt Callie,” James said.
“I love the sound of that,” Callie said.
“Where's Ethan?” James asked.
“On his way to Seattle with Matthew,” Jennifer said.
“Why?” James asked.
“To take care of my ex,” Callie said.
“What did your ex do?” Ashley asked.
“He cheated on her the whole three years they were together,” Jennifer said.
“So they are going to go kill him?” Ashley asked.
“No,” Callie said.
“He's just going to need a wheelchair for the rest of his life,” Jennifer said.
“They should have called me, I would have gone with them,” James said.
“Sorry bro,” James said.
“Ash and I will stay and keep you guys company, the power is out at our place and they won't have it fixed until tomorrow,” James said.
“Saves us from going to a hotel or bothering your parents,” Ashley said.
“I'll go make up a room,” Jennifer said. She went upstairs and got a room ready and came back down the stairs and sat down on the couch and they all talked.

Chapter 30

Jennifer, Callie, James, and Ashley were in the living room talking when they heard the front door open and close.
“Jen? Ethan?” Eric said.
“In here,” Jennifer said. Eric and Becca came into the living room and saw them.
“Where's Ethan?” Eric asked.
“He and Matthew are heading to Seattle,” Jennifer said.
“Why?” Eric asked.
“To beat up a cheating jackass,” Jennifer said.
“Callie?” Becca asked.
“Becca?” Callie said.
“Oh my god!” Becca said. They hugged. Everyone looked at them.
“You two know each other?” James asked.
“We grew up together and were best friends until sophomore year of high school before her family moved away and we lost touch, what are you doing here?” Becca asked.
“Jennifer and I met in college and became best friends, my family life was horrible so every school break, I would go home with her and they took me in as a member of the family,” Callie said.
“I thought things were getting better with your family,” Becca said.
“No, moving didn't help things, it made it all worse, I couldn't wait to go to college and get away from it all,” Callie said.
“So the cheating jackass?” Becca asked.
“Her ex whom she was with for three years and he was cheating on her for that long,” Jennifer said.
“I hope they kill him,” Becca said.
“Nope, he will be confined to a wheelchair when they are done with him,” James said.
“Callie, this is my husband, Eric Ross,” Becca said.
“Ross?” Callie asked.
“He's Ethan's younger brother,” Jennifer said.
“So Becca is your sister-in-law as well,” Callie said.
“Yep,” Jennifer said.
“Wow, I can't believe this, I came to start over with my best friend from college only to reunite with my childhood best friend as well,” Callie said.
“And a new guy,” Jennifer said.
“Who?” Becca asked.
“Matthew,” Callie said.
“They went on a date and became official,” Jennifer said.
“Oh Callie, you deserve to be happy,” Becca said.
“I am, I am here with my family and now you,” Callie said. Becca hugged her. They pulled Jennifer into the hug.
“Okay, so tomorrow, girls, we are having a spa day, the four of us,” Becca said.
“I'm in,” Ashley said.
“Me too,” Jennifer said.
“Me too,” Callie said.
“Jen, we have work and a big client meeting,” James said.
“Crap,” Jennifer said.
“James, I'm sure you guys can survive a day without her,” Ashley said.
“Baby, she's the lead designer and someday co-CEO with me,” James said.
“He's right,” Jennifer said.
“What time is the last meeting?” Becca asked.
“1pm and they last usually an hour,” James said.
“Okay we will meet for tea at three,” Becca said.
“You guys are having tea, I'm getting coffee,” Callie said.
“That's fine, Callie,” Jennifer said.
“I do miss coffee, but we can't with little ones inside us,” Ashley said.
“Okay so 2:30pm we meet at Jen's company building in the lobby,” Becca said.
“Okay, I work with them anyways as his assistant,” Ashley said.
“Callie can come to work with us, I know my parents will want to see her,” Jennifer said.
“I can't wait to see them,” Callie said. They sat there making plans.

Chapter 31

The next day, Jennifer and Callie arrived at the office and they stopped at her dad's office and knocked.
“Hey Dad, Mom, guess who just moved to Miami,” Jennifer said.
“Who?” Amber asked.
“Who?” David asked.
“Hi Mom, Dad,” Callie said.
“Callie!” David said.
“Callie, oh sweetie!” Amber said. They got up and hugged her. She hugged them tight.
“So glad you are living here now,” David said.
“Where you staying?” Amber asked.
“With me and Ethan for now,” Jennifer said.
“What about your old apartment, Jen?” David asked.
“I leased it out to a young mother with two kids,” Jennifer said.
“I forgot about that,” Amber said.
“How are you holding up, honey?” David asked.
“I'm doing okay, I'm glad to be back here with you guys, I went on a date yesterday after I got here,” Callie said.
“Really? With who?” Amber asked.
“Matthew, and they are official,” Jennifer said.
“Well I would have to say that you have a good guy, Callie,” David said.
“How about dinner tonight?” Amber asked.
“He and Ethan are out of town right now,” Jennifer said.
“Where did they go?” David asked.
“Seattle to take care of my ex,” Callie said.
“What did he do?” David asked.
“I was with him for three years and he cheated on me for three years,” Callie said.
“So they are going to take them out?” Amber asked.
“Nope, just going to make sure he's in a wheelchair for the rest of his life,” Jennifer said.
“He deserves it for what he did to Callie,” David said.
“I want to thank you both for taking me into the family and just being the parents I've never had, you guys are much better than the parents I was born to, my mom tried at the end but it was too late,” Callie said.
“No matter what, you are our daughter,” Amber said. Callie hugged David and Amber.
“We love you just as much as we love James and Jen,” David said. They all went to work. David, James, and Jennifer went to the meeting while Callie hung out with Ashley and Amber. Then it was time to meet Becca in the lobby and they went to the coffee shop and ordered their drinks and sat down and just chatted about things. Jennifer's phone beeped and she looked and smiled.
“What's up?” Becca asked.
“Ethan and Matthew are on the way back,” Jennifer said.
“Did they take care of Callie's ex?” Ashley asked.
“Yep, he's in the hospital with multiple broken bones shattered beyond repair and he's not saying anything about it,” Jennifer said.
“Good,” Callie said. Jennifer sat there sipping her tea and felt pains in her stomach.
“Jen?” Callie asked.
“Jen?” Ashley asked.
“What is it?” Becca asked.
“I think something's wrong, I got pains in my stomach,” Jennifer said.
“Let's go!” Ashley said. They paid and helped Jennifer out the door and took her to the hospital and got her settled into an examination room. Callie was with her while Ashley and Becca waiting in the waiting room calling the family. Michael and Eric arrived. David, Amber, and James arrived.
“I called Ethan on the way here, they are still in the air,” Eric said.
“I hope she's okay and the baby,” James said.
“We all do,” Ashley said. They doctor came out and looked at them.
“You all here for Jennifer Ross?” the doctor asked.
“Yes I'm her father,” David said.
“Her mother,” Amber said.
“Twin brother,” James said.
“Brother-in-law,” Eric said.
“Sister-in-law,” Becca said.
“Sister-in-law,” Ashley said.
“Father-in-law,” Michael said.
“I'm afraid she's miscarried,” the doctor said.
“Oh god no,” Ashley said.
“And we've called the police as well,” the doctor said.
“What?” Amber asked.
“What happened,” Michael said.
“We found a drug in her system and it was the cause of the miscarriage,” the doctor said.
“How did this happen?!” David said.
“She started feeling the pains at the coffee shop,” Becca said.
“Eric let's go,” Michael said. He and Eric left the hospital. David hugged Amber to him.
“My baby girl!” Amber said.
“Can we go be with her?” James asked.
“We are in the process of removing what was left of the pregnancy to prevent infection, a nurse will let you know soon,” the doctor said. Callie came out and James and Ashley hugged her.
“She was so devastated,” Callie said.
“We all are,” Ashley said.
“I can't believe this is happening,” Becca said. Callie and Becca hugged. They all sat and waited to be able to go be with Jennifer.

Chapter 32

Three hours later, Jennifer laid there in the bed staring out the window crying. James laid on the bed with her holding her.
“My baby is gone,” Jennifer said.
“I know, sis, we are here for you,” James said.
“JEN!” Ethan said. Ethan came running in the room. James moved out of the way and Ethan took her in his arms as she sobbed against him.
“Our baby is gone!” Jennifer said sobbing.
“Oh god baby, I should have been here,” Ethan said.
“You didn't know,” Jennifer said.
“How did this happen?” Ethan asked.
“Your father and brother went to find out,” James said.
“Eric's on the way back now with news,” Becca said.
“Tell me what happened today,” Ethan said.
“We met in the lobby and went to the coffee shop down the street for drinks, I had tea along with Ashley and Jen while Callie had coffee, Jen started feeling pains after sipping her tear and we brought her here,” Becca said.
“The doctor said they found something in her system that caused the miscarriage,” James said.
“Dad and Eric went to find out,” Becca said. Michael and Eric came in the room.
“Dad, what did you find?” Ethan asked.
“A friend of Sarah's, wanted revenge on Jennifer for putting Sarah in the psych ward,” Eric said.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“Have Seth and Alex get Sarah to join her friend,” Ethan said.
“Already did, son, Matthew is with them, we will take care of it, your priority is your wife right now, she needs you,” Michael said. Ethan nodded and held her close as he laid on the bed with her.

Two days later, Jennifer and Ethan walked into the basement of the club where Sarah and her friend were sitting in the cells.
“Oh god, I thought you said you got rid of her, Mandy,” Sarah said.
“They took her out and I heard hospital,” Mandy said.

“Was you really trying to kill my wife?” Ethan asked.
“She sent my best friend to the psych ward, she didn't belong there,” Mandy said.

Jennifer stood there holding the gun looking inside the cell.
“You've gone insane!” Mandy said.
“No, bitch, she deserved it!” Jennifer said. Seth and Alex took out Sarah's body.
“All she wanted was to be with the man she loved,” Mandy said.
“She was a fling to him, nothing more, he's my husband!” Jennifer said.
“She loved him so much,” Mandy said.
“So Jennifer was just suppose to leave her husband?” Matthew asked.
“Sarah loved him more than her own life,” Mandy said.

“Dad, it was Sarah's idea,” Mandy said.
“You killed the unborn child of Ethan Ross, do you have any idea how bad this is, he's the most dangerous mafia leader in Miami and you killed his baby!” Ricardo said.
“Daddy, I'm sorry, Sarah begged me to help her get revenge, I didn't know she was pregnant, I swear,” Mandy said.
“Where is that bitch now?” Ricardo said.
“Dead, they killed her,” Mandy said.
“Good riddance,” Ricardo said.
“Ricardo, what should happen with your daughter?” Daniel said.
“She can take Sarah's place in the mental hospital,” Ricardo said.

“Get her out and I'll go with you to check her into the psych ward,” Ricardo said. Seth and Alex got her out and they took her out the door. Ricardo shook hands with Daniel, Ethan, and Matthew and left. Jennifer sank against Ethan.

Chapter 34

Few months later, things began to change within the family. Ethan began pulling away from her and the rest of the family. He was never home when she was and hardly texted or called her or answered her calls. Eric didn't know what was going on with him as he pulled away from him and their father. Seth and Alex kept the clubs going but had no clue as to what was going on with their boss. Jennifer sat curled up on the couch in her office looking out the window.
“Sis?” James asked.
“Hmm?” Jennifer said.
“How you holding up?” James asked.
“I feel like a single woman again, he's pulled away from everyone, including Seth and Alex, he won't answer anyone's phone calls or text messages,” Jennifer said.
“Oh sis,” James said.
“Should I file for a divorce?” Jennifer asked.
“No, you didn't do anything wrong, he's the one pulling away from the family and from you,” James said.
“I found out that I'm pregnant again and he doesn't know, it's not the kind of thing to say in a text message,” Jennifer said.
“It's his loss, let's get out of here and head home, you can stay with me and Ash,” James said.
“Matthew has moved into the house so he and Callie are there with me,” Jennifer said.
“And he doesn't show up while you are gone and they are there,” James said.
“No, I think he waits until everyone is gone from the house before going in for clothes,” Jennifer said.
“He's never said anything or left a note as to why he's doing this?” James asked.
“No, he just began pulling away from us,” Jennifer said.
“There hasn't been any threats or anything, has there?” James asked.
“Not that I know of but he probably wouldn't have told me,” Jennifer said. There was a knock at the door. They saw a guy standing there.
“Jennifer Ross?” he asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said. He handed her a large envelope.
“These are for you,” he said.
“Thanks,” Jennifer said. He left and Jennifer opened the envelope and saw what was inside.
“Oh Jen,” James said.
“I guess it's over if he's sent divorce papers,” Jennifer said. James pulled her into his arms as she broke down crying. David and Amber came in with Ashley and they saw the papers and joined the hug.
“Oh baby girl,” Amber said.
“We are here for you,” David said. James took her home and she went to the bedroom and saw all his stuff gone. She sat on the bed. Callie and Matthew came in.
“Oh Jen,” Callie said.
“I don't understand this,” Jennifer said.
“We should have stayed home and caught him to find out what was going on,” Matthew said.
“We were only gone for an hour,” Callie said.
“I called Michael, he doesn't know what's going on but he's going to find out,” Matthew said.
“I also called Becca, she's going to talk to Eric and see if he can get ahold of Daniel and Paul to find out if they know anything,” Callie said.
“They don't know what is going on with Ethan,” Becca said coming in.
“They are as clueless as we are,” Eric said.
“Seth and Alex are going to let us know when he shows up at either club,” Becca said.
“Dad is working with the other leaders to find out what's going on,” Eric said. His phone beeped and he looked at it and went out the door. He came back a few minutes later.
“Well?” Becca said.
“Ethan left Miami, all we know is that the plane took off but there's no way of knowing where he's going, the pilot said he was ordered by Ethan not to say where they were heading and all ways of tracking the plane or his phone are not on,” Eric said.
“So he's gone,” Jennifer said.
“Dad is calling some guys that are old friends of his and asking them to keep a lookout for him,” Eric said.
“I can't believe this is happening, it's over, my marriage is over,” Jennifer said.
“Don't sign the papers, rip them up, burn them, don't give him what he wants,” Becca said.
“Baby, even if she does that, he could find a way to end the marriage,” Eric said.
“I don't understand what I did wrong, what did I do to deserve this, what did I do to cause my husband to leave me!” Jennifer said. She broke down sobbing. Callie and Becca sat with her and held her as she sobbed.

Chapter 35

Three months later, Jennifer was sitting in her office at the company working on some paperwork. Eric and Becca came in.
“Dad found him,” Eric said.
“What,” Jennifer said.
“Dad found Ethan and confronted him about everything,” Becca said.
“He didn't want to leave you,” Eric said.
“Then why did he?!” Jennifer said.
“I had no choice,” Ethan said.
“I guess we forgot to tell you that he came with us,” Eric said. Eric and Becca moved in and sat down. Ethan came in and closed the door. He came over and knelt down in front of her.
“I'm sorry for leaving, I'm so sorry for everything,” Ethan said.
“Tell me why you left, Ethan, why you filed for divorce, you better tell me everything,” Jennifer said.
“I will,” Ethan said. He told her everything that happened and why he left and why he filed for divorce.
“The papers were fake,” Jennifer said.
“I could never divorce you for real, I never want our marriage to end,” Ethan said.
“You said you got a letter,” Eric said.
“From who?” Becca asked.
“A mafia leader in LA, a rival of Matthew's,” Ethan said.
“Why didn't you tell him?” Eric asked.
“I couldn't tell anyone, he threatened everyone in my life,” Ethan said.
“What did he want?” Jennifer asked.
“You,” Ethan said.
“What,” Jennifer said.
“He wanted you for himself,” Ethan said.
“A guy I've never met or seen wanted me for himself,” Jennifer said.
“He was buddies with Matthew's twin brother, he had been sent a picture of you before Matthew's twin brother died, he wanted you for himself and threatened everyone I love, I would do anything possible to protect you and everyone,” Ethan said.
“That meant leaving me with no note or anything letting me know why,” Jennifer said.
“I had to make it look real, he had people watching,” Ethan said.
“So how come it's safe now,” Jennifer said.
“Because I went to LA and confronted him and took him out with the help of the other leaders out there, they wanted him gone and when I told them what he was doing, they had good reason to help take him out,” Ethan said.
“So no one will come get revenge for him?” Eric asked.
“No, his men went to work for the other leaders and we took out the ones loyal to him,” Ethan said.
“So it's safe now,” Becca said.
“Completely safe,” Ethan said.
“I missed you bro,” Eric said.
“You have no idea how much I missed you all,” Ethan said. He and Eric hugged. Becca hugged him. Jennifer sat there looking at her desk.
“Jen?” Ethan asked.
“How do I know this won't happen again,” Jennifer said.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“What you did destroyed me, it made me feel like I did something wrong,” Jennifer said.
“You didn't do anything wrong, baby, I had to do whatever it took to keep you safe, he said he would take out the family, our parents, brothers, sisters, and friends, he said we could have our guard up but he would destroy us all when we least expect it,” Ethan said. Jennifer sat there looking at him.

Chapter 36

Jennifer sat there looking at him. He came over to her but she turned away from him.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“What you did destroyed me, Ethan, I mean I understand why you had to but you couldn't leave me a sign or something to let me know that I was in danger or leave word with the family, with Seth or Alex, you told no one, not even your own father or brother, you kept this to yourself,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, I'm sorry, I had to do what I did so everyone would be safe,” Ethan said.
“Yeah well you've missed a lot while you were protecting us,” Jennifer said.
“What do you mean?” Ethan asked. She stood up and held her clothes to her body revealing her stomach. He looked at her and sat against the desk.
“You never gave me the chance to tell you about it until now,” Jennifer said.
“Oh god,” Ethan said.
“I didn't want to tell you through a text message,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, I'm sorry for everything, I will do anything to make things right,” Ethan said.
“You shouldn't have left like you did, you could have written a letter to be delivered at a certain time, you could have put it in with the papers you sent to me so I know that it was for our protection, you made it seem like I did something wrong,” Jennifer said.
“So what are you saying, is it over?” Ethan asked.
“I don't know what to think right now,” Jennifer said.
“Then I guess I'll go and stay with my dad and give you space,” Ethan said.
“Ethan,” Eric said.
“No she made it clear, I messed up,” Ethan said.
“Jen?” Becca asked.
“It's fine, Bec, really, it's fine, just let me know when your next appointment is, I want to be there for that and our baby,” Ethan said. He went out the door. Jennifer sat there with tears running down her cheeks. She turned and faced the window. Eric and Becca came over and hugged her and left. She sat there crying softly. James came in and took her in his arms.
“I'm here, sis,” James said.
“What should I do, bro,” Jennifer said.
“Just go with your heart,” James said.
“My heart is in pieces right now,” Jennifer said.
“Whatever you decide, I support you, do you love him?” James asked.
“More than anything,” Jennifer said.
“Just take time to think about everything and what he had to do to protect all of us, you know it probably killed him to have to leave like that,” James said.
“I know but it still hurts,” Jennifer said.
“I know sis, it's understandable,” James said. David and Amber came in and hugged her. James took her home an hour later and Callie hugged her.
“Ethan called me and told me everything, I feel at fault here,” Matthew said.
“Why,” Jennifer said.
“He was my twin and I didn't know he would become obsessed with you and get my rival obsessed as well,” Matthew said.
“You couldn't have known, Matthew,” Jennifer said.
“I should have known, but I'm glad my rival is six feet under, I gave my territory to my best friend out there, I'm staying here for good,” Matthew said.
“You staying for me?” Callie asked.
“I love it here in Miami, I talked with Ethan about joining his crew,” Matthew said.
“From leader to employee,” Callie said.
“Co-leaders with him and Eric,” Matthew said.
“Guys, what should I do?” Jennifer asked.
“About your marriage,” Callie said.
“Jen, he had to do what was needed to protect you and all of us, I know the guy, he's the most dangerous leader in LA, more than I was, he would have destroyed us,” Matthew said.
“I know him leaving like that hurt you, let him heal your heart,” Callie said. Jennifer looked at them and nodded and made the call.

Chapter 37

Jennifer sat in the living room thinking about everything. She heard the front door open and close and she looked up and saw him standing there.
“Hey,” Jennifer said.
“Hey,” Ethan said.
“Have a seat,” Jennifer said. She patted the couch beside her. He came and sat down.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“I know you are sorry for everything, I'm sorry too,” Jennifer said.
“You have nothing to be sorry for, you didn't do anything wrong, I handled this all wrong and I will do anything to make it up to you,” Ethan said.
“For starters, go get your stuff and get it back in the bedroom where it belongs,” Jennifer said.
“You mean?” Ethan said.
“It's time to come home,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, you forgive me?” Ethan asked.
“You have a lot to make up for, it's going to take some time to get back to where we were, but I want you to promise me that you will never leave me like that ever again, you have to promise me that we will talk and be honest with each other, no more secrets or anything,” Jennifer said.
“I promise, baby, I just want to come home and hold you in my arms and never let go,” Ethan said.
“Go get your stuff,” Jennifer said. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly.
“I love you so much,” Ethan said.
“I love you too,” Jennifer said.
“My stuff is in the car, when you called, I packed my stuff into the car in case,” Ethan said.
“Go get it,” Jennifer said. He kissed her and went out to his car. Matthew and Callie came in from the kitchen.
“Well?” Callie asked.
“He's getting his things,” Jennifer said.
“Callie and I can move out,” Matthew said.
“You don't have to,” Jennifer said.
“You guys are having a baby, starting a family, you deserve to be alone here,” Callie said.
“Guys, seriously it's fine,” Jennifer said. Ethan came in with his bags and saw them.

“They said they were going to move out so we would have the house to ourselves,” Jennifer said.
“Guys, you don't have to move out, this house is big enough to fit two families in here,” Ethan said.
“We just thought you guys would want the space,” Matthew said.
“It's your choice, but you don't have to go, we got used to you guys being here,” Ethan said.
“You sure?” Callie asked.
“We are sure, I like having you guys here,” Jennifer said.
“Okay but if it becomes too much, let us know and we can find a place,” Matthew said.
“You guys are talking like a forever couple,” Jennifer said.
“I think it could be,” Callie said.
“I think so too,” Matthew said.
“Say the words yet?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes we did,” Matthew said.

“Okay,” Jennifer said. Ethan took his stuff upstairs to the bedroom and began unpacking and putting it away. Jennifer came in and sat down on the bed and watched him.
“When's your next appointment?” Ethan asked.

“Have you had the ultrasound yet?” Ethan asked.
“Not yet, that's coming up,” Jennifer said.
“Do you think it could be twins?” Ethan asked.
“It's possible,” Jennifer said.
“We will find out,” Ethan said.
“Do you want a boy or a girl?” Jennifer asked.
“It doesn't matter to me, all I want is for the baby to be healthy,” Ethan said.
“So if it's a girl, she will be your heir?” Jennifer asked.
“If she is like both of us, she will be,” Ethan said.
“Do you think everyone will follow her lead?” Jennifer asked.
“The men are loyal to whoever is in charge,” Ethan said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. He sat on the bed beside her.

A week later, they were sitting in the examine room at the doctor's office getting ready for her appointment.
“Jennifer, how have you been feeling?” Dr. Peters asked.
“I'm okay, morning sickness sometimes but not too bad,” Jennifer said.
“And who is this with you today?” Dr. Peters asked.
“This is my husband, Ethan Ross, sorry you haven't met him before today, something always comes up with his business that he is unable to get away,” Jennifer said.
“Hello,” Ethan said.
“Nice to finally meet you, Dad,” Dr. Peters said. Ethan smiled and she got the machine ready.
“You ready to see your baby,” Dr. Peters said.
“Yes,” Jennifer said.
“Yes,” Ethan said. She got it ready and they looked at the screen and saw the image.
“Doc?” Jennifer asked.
“Is that?” Ethan asked.
“You are having triplets,” Dr. Peters said.
“Oh my,” Jennifer said.
“Doc, will everything be okay, I don't know if you heard about her previous pregnancy and how she miscarried,” Ethan said.
“I know all about it and everything is perfectly fine, she will be fine with plenty of rest and less work load,” Dr. Peters said.
“Well she's the lead designer for her father's interior design company and she's sitting at her desk most of the time,” Ethan said.
“You can work but rest if you get tired and don't work long hours,” Dr. Peters said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. She got cleaned up and made the next appointment and they stopped at a store and got some things and got them ready and they went to her office and sat down.
“I can't believe it,” Jennifer said.
“Me either, but we can do it,” Ethan said.
“Yeah,” Jennifer said. He rubbed her stomach as she rested against him.
“I can't believe it,” Jennifer said.
“Me either, but we can do it,” Ethan said.
“Yeah,” Jennifer said. He rubbed her stomach as she rested against him. David, Amber, James, and Ashley came in.
“Hey sis,” James said.
“How did the appointment go?” Ashley said.
“Our grandchild okay?” David asked.
“Yep,” Jennifer said.
“Doc wants her to rest more,” Ethan said.
“Is everything okay?” James asked.
“The miscarriage isn't going to cause problems with this pregnancy, is it?” Ashley asked.
“No,” Jennifer said.
“I asked that, the doc said there shouldn't be any issues,” Ethan said.
“We got you guys something,” Jennifer said. She pointed to the boxes on her desk. James got the one with his and Ashley's name on it. David got the one marked with grandparents on it and they opened them.
“What!” James said.
“Oh my god!” Ashley said.
“Oh my god,” David said.
“Oh my goodness!” Amber said.
“Three grandbabies?” David asked.
“At once?” Amber asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said.
“Oh sis!” James said. He hugged her. Ashley hugged her the best she could.
“So happy for you both!” Ashley said.
“Baby girl,” David said.
“Honey,” Amber said. They hugged her and Ethan.
“Jen, I want you to only work half days and go home and rest in the afternoons, you are carrying special cargo and we want you to take special care of yourself and them,” David said.
“I can pick up more work sis,” James said. Ashley clears her throat.
“Um you should be getting prepared for your baby coming soon,” Jennifer said.
“Okay you're right, sorry baby,” James said.
“I hope so,” Ashley said.
“Ashley, honey, you guys can head out, you need to rest,” Amber said.
“Good idea,” Ashley said.
“Bye guys,” James said. He helped her out the door. Jennifer leaned against Ethan.
“Baby you okay?” Ethan asked.
“Just tired,” Jennifer said.
“Oh honey,” Amber said.
“Morning sickness last night,” Ethan said.
“Go home and rest baby girl,” David said.
“All right, bye Dad, bye Mom,” Jennifer said.
“Bye sweetheart,” David said.
“Bye honey,” Amber said. They hugged her and she and Ethan headed home and she went to the bedroom and settled into bed. Callie and Matthew came in.
“How did it go at the doctor?” Matthew asked.
“Everything okay?” Callie asked.
“We found out that we are expecting triplets,” Jennifer said.
“Oh my gosh!” Callie said. She sat down and hugged her. Matthew shook Ethan's hand.
“Congratulations to you both,” Matthew said.
“We have a question for you both,” Ethan said.
“What's up?” Matthew asked.
“We couldn't decide between my brother and hers so we went neutral,” Ethan said.
“Would you two be godparents to the babies?” Jennifer asked.
“We would be honored,” Matthew said.
“Yes we will be godparents, I'm so happy!” Callie said.
“Thank you both,” Jennifer said.
“Thank you,” Ethan said. Matthew and Callie left the room after awhile and Jennifer smiled at Ethan. He sat next to her and held her close.

Chapter 39

Three weeks later, Jennifer and Ethan had the family wedding the week before and had arrived home from their doctor's appointment where they learned the genders.
“How you feeling about today?” Jennifer asked.
“Baby, I'm so happy, it didn't matter to me what the genders were, all I wanted was for you and our babies to be healthy,” Ethan said.
“Everyone is coming over for the reveal,” Jennifer said.
“Let's get to work,” Ethan said. They got everything set up for the reveal.
“Not a big fancy party but it's good,” Jennifer said.
“Yep,” Ethan said.
“I love you my husband,” Jennifer said.
“I love you my wife,” Ethan said.
Soon everyone showed up and sat down.
“Okay so what's up?” Eric asked.
“We found out the genders of the triplets today,” Ethan said.
“Okay so what are they,” James said.
“Baby A is a ......” Jennifer said.
“Boy!” Ethan said.
“Grandson,” Michael said.
“Baby B is a …....” Ethan said.
“Girl!” Jennifer said.
“Granddaughter,” Amber said.
“And Baby C is a …....” Jennifer said.
“Girl!” Ethan said.
“Two girls and one boy,” Ashley said.
“A nephew and two nieces,” Becca said.
“A grandson and two granddaughters,” David said.
“So happy for you both!” Amber said.
“We got you this to keep,” Ethan said.
“Our grandbabies,” Amber said.
“Son, you have your own son to carry on and take over,” Michael said.
“What if the girls want to do it,” Becca said.
“Ethan?” Jennifer asked.
“I might make them all my heirs,” Ethan said.
“Your decision, son,” Michael said.
“We will see what happens,” Ethan said.
“I can't wait to spoil my nephew and nieces,” James said.
“Really, well then since your baby will be born first, I'll spoil yours and see how you like it,” Jennifer said.
“He won't spoil them, right babe?” Ashley said.
“All right I won't,” James said.
“You promise?” Ashley asked.
“I promise baby,” James said.
“Good because if you break that promise, there will be consequences,” Ashley said.
“That goes for you too, babe,” Becca said.
“I promise baby,” Eric said.
“Okay so no spoiling the babies, any of them,” Ethan said.
“Oh man,” David said.
“Take away our fun,” Amber said.
“Mom!” Jennifer said.
“Spoiling the grandbabies is part of our job,” Amber said.
“But then we would have to deal with the tantrums and all that and we will already be exhausted,” James said.
“Please no spoiling, please,” Ashley said.
“Okay,” David said.
“We promise,” Amber said.
“Promise,” Michael said. They all sat and talked. They all left an hour later. Ethan helped Jennifer up to their bedroom where he helped her change and got her into bed.
“I love you so much,” Jennifer said.
“I love you too my wife,” Ethan said. He kissed her deeply and laid on the bed with her.
“Get some rest baby,” Ethan said.
“Seems that's all I'll be doing now is resting,” Jennifer said.
“You have our three babies inside you,” Ethan said.
“I know,” Jennifer said.
“I don't want anything happening to you or them, you are my life,” Ethan said.
“You are mine,” Jennifer said. He kissed her deeply and he held her close as she went to sleep.

Chapter 40

Two months later, Jennifer was six months along with the triplets. Becca was due any day. Ashley was eight months pregnant. Jennifer was resting in bed. She was tired more often so she cut back on her work hours and rested more. Ethan worked from the house on paperwork and payroll for the clubs. James took most of the work over at the office and sometimes came to Jennifer for her opinion on some designs for the clients.
“Baby, I just got a text from Eric, Becca just went into labor, he will call once the baby is born, Ethan said.
“We can go to the hospital, babe,” Jennifer said.
“I know but I just thought you wanted to take a nap or something,” Ethan said.
“I took a little one, I should be okay for the time being,” Jennifer said.
“Okay baby, but you will let me know if you get tired,” Ethan said. They went to the hospital and joined Michael in the waiting room.
“Hey Dad, ready to be a grandpa,” Ethan said.
“I'm ready, son, three months of spoiling this one and then it will be time to spoil the three little ones here,” Michael said.
“They could come early, me and James were three weeks early,” Jennifer said.
“Then it will be sooner than later,” Michael said.
“Dad, no spoiling,” Ethan said.
“It's what grandparents do,” Michael said.
“Dad,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, he's right, but we should say that if he does, he keeps them overnight,” Jennifer said.
“I'll go with that,” Ethan said.
“I can spoil them too,” Michael said.
“Or he can keep them for a week or so until they are normal,” Jennifer said.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“I want our babies to be good kids who respect us and each other and are happy with what they have and have a good heart,” Jennifer said.
“They will have that because you are their mother,” Michael said.
“Yeah baby,” Ethan said.
“Dad,” Eric said.
“Eric,” Michael said.
“You have a grandson, his name is Jacob Michael Ross,” Eric said.
“You gave him my name?” Michael asked.
“It only seemed right,” Eric said.
“It's perfect,” Ethan said. Eric smiled and he and Ethan hugged. Michael hugged Eric.
“I love you my son,” Michael said.
“Love you Dad,” Eric said.
“How's Becca?” Jennifer asked.
“She's fine, tired and exhausted, she's resting,” Eric said.
“When can we see our nephew?” Ethan asked.
“Come on,” Eric said. They went to the nursery and looked in the window at the babies and saw the one marked Ross.
“There he is, my boy,” Eric said.
“He's so handsome,” Jennifer said.
“I know he is,” Eric said.
“He's amazing, bro, proud of you, congratulations Dad,” Ethan said.
“Thanks bro, your turn next,” Eric said.
“Well for Ross babies, but James is due to be a dad before me,” Ethan said. They watched Eric's son in the nursery before going to see Becca. Ethan and Jennifer went home and she settled on the couch with him.

Chapter 41

The next day, Jennifer was at the office for a meeting since James was at a location for one of their clients. He left Ashley with her. Ethan was at the club doing paperwork.
“Hey you drove right?” Ashley asked.
“Yeah just so I could go over to pick up Ethan so he would drive home,” Jennifer said.
“I need to go shopping for some last minute things before the baby comes,” Ashley said.
“Okay I'm almost done with this and we will go, I need to get a few things too,” Jennifer said.
“Okay I'm going to text James and let him know the plan,” Ashley said.
“Text Ethan while you are at it,” Jennifer said.
“Okay,” Ashley said. She sent the text messages and got a reply back from both of them.
“Tell my wife to leave her car and wait for Callie to come get you both so she can drive you two,” Ethan texted.
“Be safe okay baby,” James texted.
“So what am I to do with my car then?” Jennifer asked. Ashley sent a message to Ethan. He replied back.
“Tell her that I got the other set and I'll have Seth bring me to get it,” Ethan texted. Callie came in awhile later and they went shopping.

Ethan was sitting in his office at the club doing paperwork and the payroll.
“Hey boss,” Alex said.
“What is it,” Ethan said.
“Just letting you know that Seth had to leave early, his mother called, his grandmother is sick,” Alex said.
“Crap okay I might need you to take me to pick up Jen's car, she went shopping with Callie and Ashley and I didn't want her driving,” Ethan said.
“Okay let me know when you are ready,” Alex said.
“Ethan,” James said.
“Hey James,” Ethan said.
“Did you let Jen go shopping with my wife?” James asked.
“I asked Callie to drive them,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, shouldn't Jen be at home resting right now, she's pregnant with triplets,” James said.
“I know that, James, they are my son and my daughters she is carrying but I can't keep her confined to the bed if the doctor doesn't order it,” Ethan said.
“My wife is almost due,” James said.
“James, whose idea was it to go shopping?” Ethan asked.
“My wife, oh man, I'm sorry,” James said.
“It's fine, bro, I'm sure they will be fine,” Ethan said. His phone beeped as did James's phone. They looked at them and at each other.
“Oh god,” James said.
“Jen!” Ethan said. They ran out the door and went to the hospital and found Matthew and Michael in the waiting room.
“Dad,” Ethan said.
“Waiting for word,” Michael said.
“What happened?” James asked.
“Callie called me and told me they were in an accident, a drunk driver hit the car, the driver was killed instantly, he was speeding and came out of nowhere,” Matthew said.
“What condition was the girls in?” James asked.
“Callie was the only one awake, Jen and Ash were unconscious,” Michael said.
“Oh god,” Ethan said.
“The babies,” James said. They sat down and waited for the doctor to come out.

Chapter 42

They all sat there waiting for word on Callie, Jennifer, and Ashley. Ethan was pacing as was James. David and Amber held each other.
“Callie!” Matthew said. They saw her being wheeled out in a chair. Matthew went and knelt down in front of her.
“Oh god Matthew,” Callie said.
“Callie sweetie,” Amber said.
“Mom!” Callie said. Amber hugged her. James came over and hugged her.
“Sis,” James said.
“I'm so sorry James,” Callie said.
“Why are you sorry?” James asked.
“I feel like it's my fault because I was driving,” Callie said.
“Baby you didn't know that drunk would be out there,” Matthew said.
“Any word on Jen or Ash?” Callie asked.
“Nothing yet,” David said.
“Ethan?” the doctor asked.
“Yes,” Ethan said.
“Come with me please,” the doctor said. Ethan went with him down the hall. James looked at everyone.
“Why couldn't he say anything in front of us, we are all family,” James said.
“I don't know, it must not be good,” David said.
“Oh my baby girl,” Amber said. David hugged her close. Matthew helped Callie out of the chair and into his lap and held her close.
“Michael, can you find out everything you can about that driver, if he was just a random drunk or if it was on purpose,” James said.
“I will definitely find out,” Michael said. They saw Ethan come back and looked at him.
“Ethan?” Amber asked.
“She's in a coma, she might not ever wake up,” Ethan said.
“The babies?” James asked.
“They are holding on for now, they want to take them,” Ethan said.
“It's too early,” Matthew said.
“Oh god no,” Callie said.
“No, they can't,” James said.
“Dr. Peters is going over everything now,” Ethan said.
“Did he say anything about Ash?” James asked.
“No, not to me,” Ethan said.
“James?” the doctor asked.
“Doc, how is Ashley, my baby?” James asked.
“They are going to be just fine, we had to do a emergency c-section to get the baby out and you have a baby girl, she's in the NICU as a precaution, Ashley is resting right now, I'll let you know when she's ready for visitors,” the doctor said.
“I've got a baby girl, a daughter,” James said.
“Congratulations bro,” Ethan said.
“A granddaughter,” David said.
“When can we see her?” Amber asked.
“You can come with me now and see the baby,” the doctor said. David and Amber went with James and the doctor. Ethan sat down. Michael sat with him.
“Ethan,” Michael said.
“I can't lose them, Dad, I can't lose my family,” Ethan said. Michael hugged him as Ethan cried against his shoulder. Callie sobbed against Matthew as he had tears in his eyes. They all silently prayed that Jennifer and the babies make it through this.
“Ethan! Dad!” Becca said.
“How are they?” Eric asked.
“Ashley had to have an emergency c-section,” Ethan said.
“James and Ashley have a baby girl,” Michael said.
“Jen?” Eric asked.
“She's in a coma,” Ethan said.
“The babies?” Becca asked.
“Holding on for now, they want me to sign papers to give them permission to take them,” Ethan said.
“Take them?” Eric asked.
“You mean do a c-section to get them out to where they won't survive,” Becca said.
“Ethan, please tell me you didn't,” Eric said.
“No, I haven't, Dr. Peters is going over everything now,” Ethan said.
“Ethan,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc, please tell me you have good news,” Ethan said.

Chapter 43

They stood there looking at her. Eric and Michael stood with him.
“Doc please,” Ethan said.
“The babies are safe for now, we will keep a close eye on them, if we can make it to 36 weeks then they have a good chance of surviving,” Dr. Peters said.
“How far is she now?” Callie asked.
“Almost 30,” Dr. Peters said.
“Can I go be with her?” Ethan asked.
“Yes we got her in a room and a bed set up already because we figured you would not leave her side,” Dr. Peters said.
“Most definitely I wouldn't leave her,” Ethan said. He went to Jennifer's room and walked in and saw her and sat down and took her hand in his.
“I'm here baby, I'm not going anywhere, I love you so much, the babies are fine, they are hoping to get to 36 weeks so we have a ways to go, I hope you wake up soon baby, I can't imagine my life without you,” Ethan said. He watched her lying there. She had cuts all over her upper body from the windshield shattering.
“Ethan?” Paul said.
“Paul, why you here?” Ethan asked.
“Your father called me, told me what happened, I have connections to find out about the driver who did this,” Paul said.
“Find anything?” Ethan asked.
“They are still investigating, but the guy went to school with Jennifer,” Paul said.
“So this wasn't random,” Ethan said.
“We don't know yet, I called Daniel and told him,” Paul said.
“Call him back and have him question his wife,” Ethan said.
“I did mention that to him, he's going to, I also questioned Nathan, Jennifer's ex, he knew the guy,” Paul said.
“Ethan,” Nathan said.
“Who was he?” Ethan asked.
“His name was Kenny Frazier, he had a huge crush on Jen,” Nathan said.
“Did he know Tanya?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah but he hated her, he couldn't stand being near her,” Nathan said.
“Do you think he did this to my wife on purpose?” Ethan asked.
“I don't believe so, Kenny had problems with alcohol and he was in rehab but got out last year, I thought he was doing better but I guess he relapsed,” Nathan said.
“Now my wife is here in a coma fighting for her life along with my babies,” Ethan said.
“I'm praying they make it,” Nathan said.
“Ethan,” Daniel said. Ethan looked and saw him and Tanya at the door.
“What is she doing here?” Nathan asked.
“I questioned her about whether she was involved in this,” Daniel said.
“I swear to you on my husband's life that I had nothing to do with this, I would never wish this on Jennifer, she did not deserve this happening to her, please tell us the babies are okay,” Tanya said.
“They are fine for now,” Nathan said.
“We have six weeks to go before they can be safely delivered,” Ethan said.
“I am praying for her and for them,” Tanya said.
“Ethan, she is telling the truth, she looked me straight in the eyes and swore she had nothing to do with it, I know my wife, I can tell when she lies,” Daniel said.
“I'm not the same person I was in high school, being married to Daniel, it's made me a better person,” Tanya said.
“I hope so,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, keep us updated on Jen, I will help Paul with finding out the reason why the guy did this and if he did it on purpose or accident,” Daniel said. Ethan nodded and Daniel, Tanya, and Paul left. Nathan followed shortly after. Ethan sat there holding her hand.

Chapter 44

Three weeks later, things were still the same as they were. Ethan never left the hospital for anything. He was sitting by her bedside. The door opened and Daniel and Tanya came in with Paul.
“Ethan,” Daniel said.
“We found out the truth about the accident,” Paul said.
“They found out why it happened,” Tanya said.
“It was on purpose, he thought my wife was with Jennifer,” Daniel said.
“What,” Ethan said.
“He was trying to take out Tanya, he wanted to hurt anyone who hurt Jennifer,” Paul said.
“But she wasn't in the car, oh god he thought Callie was Tanya,” Ethan said.
“The police said his blood alcohol content was way above normal, he was clearly drunk,” Paul said.
“He was trying to kill my wife,” Daniel said.
“I think all he saw was the blond hair and thought I was back hanging out with Jennifer again,” Tanya said.
“Son of a bitch!” Ethan said.
“It's a good thing he died in the accident, he would have died anyways,” Paul said.
“Damn right he would have,” Ethan said.
“We talked with his family, they said he wanted Tanya to pay for everything she did to Jennifer, they told him to let it go, that it wasn't worth it, that everyone has moved on but he wouldn't listen to them,” Daniel said.
“Oh good, so he was obsessed with my wife,” Ethan said.
“Pretty much yeah, he started drinking because he heard she got married to you,” Paul said.
“Oh great,” Ethan said.
“His family said that his bedroom is like a shrine to Jennifer, pictures of her everywhere dating back to high school, he followed her through college and to the company, he pretty much stalked her,” Daniel said.
“Even in high school he followed her around,” Tanya said.
“Did he believe the stuff you said,” Daniel said.
“He was the only one I didn't tell, he wasn't in school that day and I thought someone told him, I didn't think he was that obsessed with her,” Tanya said.
“He wasn't in school or made everyone think he wasn't, so he could stalk her,” Daniel said.
“Oh god,” Tanya said.
“I'm glad he is dead,” Ethan said.
“There hasn't been any change, has there?” Daniel asked.
“No, it's still the same,” Ethan said.
“This is my fault,” Tanya said.
“Tanya,” Daniel said.
“No, it is, because of the way I was towards her in high school and what I did, I should have known my past would come back to haunt me,” Tanya said.
“You could not have known what this guy was going to do, you didn't know,” Daniel said.
“I should have been a better person towards her, I should have just been her real friend instead of a fake friend, this is all on me,” Tanya said. She went out the door. Daniel stood there.
“The only one to blame is the dead guy, no one could have known what he was going to do,” Ethan said.
“Keep us updated,” Daniel said. He went out the door. Paul came over to him.
“She will come back to you, man,” Paul said.
“I hope for it every day,” Ethan said.
“Call if you need anything,” Paul said. Ethan nodded and Paul went out the door.

Chapter 45

Three weeks later, Jennifer was still in a coma and the babies were still going strong. Her stomach expanded as they grew. Ethan sat there watching her.
“Hey baby, I wish you would wake up, I feel like we have missed out on a lot with the babies growing inside you, they are strong little fighters,” Ethan said. Jennifer moans.
“Jen?” Ethan asked. He pressed the button and the nurse came in.
“Get the doctor, I think she's waking up,” Ethan said. The nurse nodded and ran out of the room. Ethan took her hand as she opened her eyes and saw him.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“Yeah baby, I'm here,” Ethan said.
“What happened?” Jennifer asked.
“You were in a car accident,” Ethan said.
“The babies?” Jennifer asked.
“They are little fighters,” Ethan said.
“Thank god,” Jennifer said.
“You've been in a coma for six weeks,” Ethan said.
“What happened,” Jennifer said.
“I'll tell you later, okay or after the babies are born,” Ethan said.
“Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“I promise you that you will know soon,” Ethan said.
“Why not tell me now?” Jennifer asked.
“Baby, I don't want you getting upset or mad or anything that will get you stressed, you just woke up, the doctors need to check you and the babies,” Ethan said.
“Mrs. Ross, good to see you awake,” the doctor said.
“Thank you,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer, so happy you are awake,” Dr. Peters said.
“Thank you doc,” Jennifer said.
“Let us examine you, Ethan, why don't you go call the family and let them know while we are doing the examination,” the doctor said. Ethan nodded and kissed her forehead and went out into the hallway and sent a group text to everyone.
“She's awake!” Ethan texted.
“Awesome, we are on our way!” Eric texted.
“I am on my way!” James texted.
“That is the most amazing news!” Ashley texted.
“So happy!” Becca texted.
“Great news, I'm heading out now,” Michael texted.
“On our way!” David texted.
“Give her a kiss for us,” Amber texted.
“Awesome news boss!” Alex texted.
“That is the most amazing news!” Seth texted.
“That is great news!” Paul texted.
“Awesome news man,” Daniel texted.
“Callie and I are on our way!” Matthew texted.
“Does she know the truth about the accident?” Callie texted.
“No, I am going to wait until she's completely out of the woods,” Ethan texted.
“Okay, we will be there soon,” Callie texted. Ethan put his phone away and waited for the doctors to be done. He got out his phone and checked in with Seth and Alex on how things are going at the club and warehouse. They said everything was running smoothly.
“Ethan,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc?” Ethan asked.
“Everything is fine, you can go back in,” Dr. Peters said.
“The babies are okay?” Ethan asked.
“They are just fine, Ethan, strong heartbeats, they are little fighters,” Dr. Peters said.
“So will I be able to tell her the news about her accident?” Ethan asked.
“As long as she stays calm and doesn't get stressed, maybe you should tell her before we discharge her in case something happens,” Dr. Peters said. Ethan nodded and went back in. He sat down by her bed.
“We want to keep her tonight to be safe and she will get to go home in the morning,” the doctor said.
“Thank you doc,” Jennifer said. The doctor left the room. Ethan got up and sat on the bed and took her hand in his.
“I need to tell you everything about the accident,” Ethan said. She nodded. He took a deep breath and told her everything about the accident and who caused it and why they did. Jennifer looked at him.
“Kenny Frazier did this because he thought Callie was Tanya and he wanted her gone because of what she did to me in high school,” Jennifer said.
“Yes baby,” Ethan said.
“I'm glad he's dead or I would have killed him myself,” Jennifer said.
“I would have done it first, baby, I almost lost you and our babies,” Ethan said. The door opened and James came in with Ashley. David and Amber came in. Michael came in. Matthew and Callie came in. Eric and Becca came in with the baby.
“Sis!” James said.
“My baby girl,” Amber said.
“Sweetheart,” David said.
“So glad you're awake,” Michael said.
“Ethan just told me about the accident,” Jennifer said.
“The case of mistaken identity,” Callie said.
“Yep,” Jennifer said. Ethan's phone rang and he looked at it and went out the door to answer it.
Chapter 46

Everyone sat there talking with her. Ethan came back in and sat down.
“Everything okay?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah baby, everything is fine,” Ethan said.
“You sure?” Jennifer asked.
“Yes baby,” Ethan said.
Three days later, Jennifer was home resting in bed. Ethan brought her lunch in bed.
“Baby, I am going to run to the club for a bit to handle the payroll,” Ethan said.
“Okay so I'm stuck here in bed alone,” Jennifer said.
“Not alone, Callie and I are here,” Matthew said.
“Yep, you aren't alone,” Callie said.
“Until you guys start making out and disappear to your room,” Jennifer said.
“Nope,” Callie said.
“Not until Ethan is back,” Matthew said.
“We promised,” Callie said.
“Okay I'll see you later baby,” Ethan said. He kissed her softly and hugged her and went out the door. Jennifer ate her lunch. Matthew took the dishes down to the kitchen after she was done.
“You okay Jen?” Callie asked.
“Yeah I'm fine,” Jennifer said.
“You sure?” Callie asked.
“Yeah I'm going to take a nap,” Jennifer said.
“Okay just text or yell if you need anything,” Callie said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said. Callie left the room and Jennifer laid down on the bed and closed her eyes and went to sleep. She woke up sometime later and saw Ethan sitting on the bed beside her watching her.
“Hey sleeping beauty,” Ethan said.
“What time is it?” Jennifer asked.
“Six pm,” Ethan said.
“Wow, I was asleep for five hours,” Jennifer said.
“Must have been tired,” Ethan said.
“How long have you been home?” Jennifer asked.
“Couple of hours,” Ethan said.
“Took you three hours to do payroll?” Jennifer asked.
“I did the paperwork too since I was with you at the hospital,” Ethan said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“Baby what's wrong?” Ethan asked.
“I don't know, I just think you are hiding something from me,” Jennifer said.
“Baby I'm not,” Ethan said.
“What was the phone call you had at the hospital that had you go out of the room?” Jennifer asked.
“Just an old friend checking in,” Ethan said.
“An old friend, one I have never heard of?” Jennifer asked.
“He's usually out of touch most of the time,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, who is he?” Jennifer asked.
“His name is Brett Davidson, he lives in San Diego,” Ethan said.
“And he's out of touch why?” Jennifer asked.
“He's in the military,” Ethan said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“Yeah baby, he's stationed in San Diego, he's got some free time so he's coming to visit next week,” Ethan said.
“Oh and you want him to stay here?” Jennifer asked.
“No baby, he will get a hotel room,” Ethan said.
“He's okay with that?” Jennifer asked.
“He prefers it,” Ethan said.
“Oh okay,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, I'm sorry I haven't mentioned him before, it just never came up,” Ethan said.
“All right, I get it, I love you,” Jennifer said.
“I love you too,” Ethan said.
“Now have you thought of names for our little ones?” Jennifer asked.
“The boy's name I like is Jackson,” Ethan said.
“Jackson Ross,” Jennifer said.
“Jackson David Ross,” Ethan said.
“After my dad?” Jennifer asked.
“Yeah baby,” Ethan said.
“Not yours?” Jennifer asked.
“I thought one of the girls can be Samantha Michelle Ross,” Ethan said.
“I like it,” Jennifer said.
“Then Hayley Ann Ross,” Ethan said.
“I like them,” Jennifer said.
“I love you,” Ethan said.
“I love you more,” Jennifer said. He kissed her softly and they cuddled up together. He stroked her stomach.

Chapter 47

A week later, Ethan left the house to go meet up with his old friend. Jennifer was resting on the couch reading a book.
“Jen?” Callie asked.
“Hmmm?” Jennifer asked.
“You okay?” Callie asked.
“Yeah I'm fine,” Jennifer said.
“You sure?” Callie asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, something is bothering you,” Matthew said.
“Talk to us, sis,” Callie said.
“I think Ethan is keeping something from me, like his friend, someone he never told me about,” Jennifer said.
“Maybe it never came up,” Matthew said.
“I'm sure it wasn't on purpose,” Callie said.
“Yeah I know, but he had to leave the room to take the call,” Jennifer said.
“Maybe so he could hear better,” Callie said.
“Jen, he loves you, you guys are having triplets, he is totally devoted to you,” Matthew said. The front door opened and closed and Ethan came in with a guy behind him.
“There's my gorgeous wife,” Ethan said. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly.
“Jennifer, hello, I'm Brett,” Brett said.
“Nice to meet you,” Jennifer said.
“Ethan and I have been friends for a long time but since I'm in the military and when I am deployed, contact is scarce,” Brett said.
“Oh I understand,” Jennifer said.
“He called me as soon as he got settled back in the base in San Diego,” Ethan said.
“So how long is your leave?” Jennifer asked.
“A couple weeks before I have to head back,” Brett said.
“You being deployed again?” Jennifer asked.
“In a couple months,” Brett said.
“I bet you have family missing you,” Jennifer said.
“My parents were killed in a car crash before I enlisted, I was their only child, all I have is my military family and Ethan and his family and now that includes you,” Brett said.
“I believe so, I can't believe I've never heard about you before you called Ethan last week,” Jennifer said.
“Ethan, you never told her about me,” Brett said.
“It never came up,” Ethan said.
“Unless there is something you guys are hiding,” Matthew said.
“Or Ethan is hiding something,” Callie said.
“Ethan, what are you hiding?” Brett asked.
“Nothing, I'm not hiding anything, I just didn't have a chance to sit down and say, by the way, I have a friend in the military who is out of touch at times,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, I'm not married but I know that one thing you do is be completely honest with your wife,” Brett said.
“I know and I am, you are here so I'm not hiding anything now,” Ethan said.
“I don't know about you all but I'm going to go lay down and take a nap,” Jennifer said.
“You want me to come with you?” Ethan asked.
“No it's fine, spend time with Brett, he won't be around as long as I will be,” Jennifer said. He helped her up and kissed her forehead and she went upstairs and got on the bed and laid there.

Chapter 48

Jennifer woke up and got up and went downstairs and heard voices in Ethan's home office. She went to the door and listened.
“You are ashamed of our past, that's why you never told anyone about me!” Brett said.
“It's not easy to talk about!” Ethan said.
“How hard is it to say,” Brett said.
“I just thought it was best to not say anything,” Ethan said.
“You told everyone we were just friends when we were much more than that!” Brett said.
“Brett, I'm just not sure about what I would have said,” Ethan said.
“It's not hard to say, Ethan!” Brett said.
“What, say what, Brett!” Ethan said.
“You know what, Ethan, you know what we were,” Brett said.
“I'm married now, Brett, I love my wife,” Ethan said.
“And you are lying to her!” Brett said.
“What happened was in the past, it can stay there,” Ethan said.
“I knew it, you are ashamed of me and what we did,” Brett said. Matthew and Callie came up to her and she looked at them. She motioned them to be quiet.
“Brett, it's in the past, it can't happen again, I love my wife and I'm going to be a dad,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, I'm not here to take you away from her,” Brett said.
“Then why bring up the past,” Ethan said.
“Because you aren't being honest with her about your past with me, you never told her about me until I called about coming to visit,” Brett said.
“Because it's the past and I want to focus on the present and future,” Ethan said.
“I can't believe this,” Brett said.
“Brett, why should we bring up the past,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, it's time to be honest with your wife about your past, you're only hurting her by keeping it from her,” Brett said.
“I don't know why I should bring up the past,” Ethan said.
“Because it's the right thing to do,” Brett said.
“Brett, I can't,” Ethan said.
“If you don't, I will,” Brett said.
“No!” Ethan said.
“Be honest with her,” Brett said.
“I don't know how I can do that,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, she is your wife,” Brett said.
“I can't, I just want to leave it in the past,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, how hard is it to tell your wife that we used to be involved, that we used to be lovers,” Brett said. Jennifer covered her mouth with her hand. Matthew and Callie looked at each other and walked into the room and looked at them.
“What did you just say?” Matthew asked.
“You guys were involved,” Callie said.
“You hid that fact from your wife?!” Matthew said.
“I don't know how to tell her,” Ethan said.
“You don't have to, Ethan,” Callie said. They motioned to the door. He saw Jennifer standing there crying.
“She heard it all, man,” Matthew said.
“She was listening before we started to,” Callie said. Ethan looked at Jennifer.

Chapter 49

Jennifer stood there looking at them with tears running down her cheeks.
“You kept this from me,” Jennifer said.
“Jen,” Ethan said.
“You couldn't tell me about the past, you had to hide it from me, you couldn't be honest with me, I told you all about mine but you couldn't tell me this!” Jennifer said.
“I should go,” Brett said.
“No, I should go,” Jennifer said.
“Jen please,” Ethan said.
“No, I'm done!” Jennifer said. She walked out the door and went upstairs and packed a bag and came downstairs and saw Matthew and Callie.
“We will take you where you want to go,” Matthew said.
“We will go with you,” Callie said.
“I'll be okay,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, the babies, you shouldn't be alone,” Callie said.
“I'll be fine, I won't be alone,” Jennifer said. She walked out the door. She saw Brett come out the door and got into his car and left. She got into her car and saw Ethan standing at the front door with tears running down his cheeks. She started her car and drove off. She looked in the rearview mirror and saw him sink down on the step. She drove to James's house and got out and went to the door. She rang the doorbell. James opened it and saw her. She started sobbing and he took her in his arms.
“Sis, come in,” James said. He brought her in and sat down on the couch with her.
“Callie told me you left him, but didn't say why,” James said.
“He kept something from me, something from his past, I was an open book about mine but he kept his from me,” Jennifer said. She told him everything she overheard. James sat there.
“Sis, I can see things from both sides, he wasn't sure how to tell you and you did what you needed to do by getting away but you guys are married, you are having babies together, you both need to work this out, I'm not saying right now, take some time to think about things and see where you are in a few days,” James said.
“I just can't believe he couldn't be honest with me,” Jennifer said.
“Give it a few days and then go talk with him, you know he loves you,” James said.
“If he loved me, he wouldn't have kept it from me,” Jennifer said.
“Sis,” James said.
“No James, I can't handle this right now,” Jennifer said.
“Come on, you should get some rest,” James said. He took her to a room and got it ready for her and she laid down on the bed and curled up the best she could. James sat with her until she fell asleep. He went downstairs and called Ethan.
“James,” Ethan said.
“She's here and she's going to stay for awhile, she told me everything, I can see this from your side and hers, I told her to give it a few days and then come talk with you, she's being stubborn of course,” James said.
“I hate myself for not telling her but I just wanted to leave that part in the past,” Ethan said.
“I know the feeling, there was stuff I wanted to leave in the past but it came back to bite me and I almost lost Ashley because of it but we worked it out, I know you guys can too, you have babies to think about,” James said.
“I can't lose her,” Ethan said.
“You won't, I'll make sure of it, just be ready to be an open book with her,” James said.
“That was the only thing I was hiding,” Ethan said.
“Then I guess you are an open book now, just give her time, man, just maybe send flowers to show her how much you love her,” James said.
“Thanks man,” Ethan said.
“Anytime bro,” James said. James hung up and looked at Ashley who had came downstairs.
“Babe?” Ashley asked. James quietly told her what was going on and they sat on the couch.

Chapter 50

Two weeks later, Jennifer was still staying with James and Ashley. She bonded with her niece. James sat next to her on the couch.
“Sis, it's time,” James said.
“Time for what,” Jennifer said.
“To go talk with your husband, Callie told me that he's not doing so well,” James said.
“James,” Jennifer said.
“Sis, it's been two weeks, you guys need to work this out and get settled back into a routine before the babies come,” James said.
“All right,” Jennifer said. She got her stuff and went home and walked into the house and saw Matthew and Callie. They hugged her.
“He's in the office,” Matthew said. She went to the office and heard him talking.
“Yeah Dad, thanks for covering for me at the meeting, I know most of the guys miss you, the clubs are fine, Alex and Seth bring me the paperwork and payroll to do, yeah, I know, Dad, yeah, talk to you later, bye,” Ethan said. He hung up and rubbed his face with his hands.
“Hey,” Jennifer said. He looked up and saw her and got up and came over to her and took her in his arms and hugged her to him.
“You're home, thank god,” Ethan said.
“We should talk though,” Jennifer said.
“I know, I just had to have you in my arms,” Ethan said.
“Oh Ethan,” Jennifer said. She rested her head on his chest as he held her.
“Jen, I'm so sorry, god, baby, I know I should have told you but I just didn't know how to explain it and I didn't see the point because it was in the past and it was never going to happen again, you are my everything, you have my heart,” Ethan said.
“When was the last time you were with him like that?” Jennifer asked.
“Three years,” Ethan said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, please tell me you forgive me, that you are home for good,” Ethan said.
“Promise me that you never hide anything from me again, that you are an open book with me like I am with you,” Jennifer said.
“I promise, I'm an open book, I have no more secrets, I can't lose you again, these last two weeks have been horrible and unbearable without you,” Ethan said.
“Okay,” Jennifer said.
“Oh baby,” Ethan said. He hugged her and buried his face in her neck.
“I love you,” Jennifer said.
“I love you baby so much,” Ethan said. They walked out of the office and walked into the living room.
“All is well?” Matthew asked.
“Yes,” Jennifer said.
“Good, we have some news,” Callie said.
“I asked Callie to marry me,” Matthew said.
“I said yes,” Callie said.
“Congratulations,” Jennifer said.
“Congratulations,” Ethan said. Jennifer hugged Callie while Ethan and Matthew shook hands. Jennifer hugged Matthew while Ethan hugged Callie.
“Jennifer, we are going to wait until after you have the babies to have the wedding, I want you and Becca to be my matrons of honor,” Callie said.
“I'm honored,” Jennifer said.
“Ethan, best man?” Matthew asked.
“I'm honored,” Ethan said.
“Okay let's get started planning,” Jennifer said. She and Callie sat down and started going over the details while texting Becca the news. Soon everyone was at the house. Becca, Amber, and Ashley sat down with them to plan while the guys hung out in the living room and watched a football game on TV.

Chapter 51

The next day, Ethan was at the club checking over things and going over stuff with Seth and Alex. His phone beeped and he looked at it and cursed.
“Boss?” Seth asked.
“That was Matthew, he said he came home and found Callie knocked out on the floor and Jen is missing,” Ethan said.
“Boss!” Alex said. They looked at the door of the club and saw two guys holding Jennifer. He saw an older man come in with a younger woman.
“What the hell?! Let her go!” Ethan said.
“I will let her go, after you divorce her and marry my daughter,” the man said.
“What did you say?!!” Ethan said.
“Who are you?” Alex asked.
“Thomas Martin, this is my baby girl Lacey,” Thomas said.
“And why should he divorce his wife to marry your daughter,” Seth said.
“Because my daughter wants him and I hold the cards here, I see that your current wife is pregnant and could have the baby any day, he will do what I say or something will happen to her and the baby,” Thomas said.
“Daddy,” Lacey said.
“Also after the baby is born, you will take full custody of the child and you and my daughter will raise the baby together,” Thomas said.
“I can't marry some girl I don't know,” Ethan said.
“You will or she will die along with the child,” Thomas said.
“Clock is ticking,” Lacey said.
“You are insane, both of you, you come into my club, holding my wife, expecting me to do your bidding,” Ethan said.
“I guess your answer is no?” Thomas asked.
“It's a hell no,” Matthew said. They saw Matthew and Eric each holding a gun to the guys who were holding Jennifer and she moved to Ethan as Seth and Alex moved and grabbed Thomas and his daughter.
“Hey watch it!” Lacey said.
“Ethan, you are making a mistake,” Thomas said.
“How so?” Ethan asked.
“You could have had a good life with my daughter, she would have given you everything you could desire,” Thomas said.
“My wife already does that, I'm sorry but your time is up, take them down to the cells and make sure they have no weapons,” Ethan said. The guys took them to the cells. Ethan took Jennifer into his arms.
“God baby are you okay?” Ethan asked.
“I'm fine, I remained calm because I knew you would save me,” Jennifer said.
“I always will, baby, I love you so much,” Ethan said.
“Would you have given in to them?” Jennifer asked.
“Baby, I would do anything to make sure you and our babies are safe, I would have played along and then took them out,” Ethan said.
“I want them gone, Ethan, they wanted to take our babies from me,” Jennifer said.
“They will never see the light of day ever again,” Ethan said.
“Excuse me?” a guy asked.
“What,” Ethan said.
“I'm looking for my dad and sister, they were coming here,” the guy said.
“Thomas and Lacey?” Ethan asked.
“Yes,” the guy said.
“That depends, were you here to stop them or help them?” Ethan asked.
“To stop them, I knew their plan and I tried to talk them out of it but they wouldn't listen to me, I'm Zack,” Zack said.
“We have them down in the cells,” Jennifer said.
“What are your plans for them?” Zack asked.
“It involves them ending up six feet under,” Jennifer said.
“Oh, can I watch?” Zack asked.
“What?” Jennifer asked.
“Lacey has always been his baby girl, his favorite, I could never have his attention, she always got it, she could do no wrong and I was always blamed when she did,” Zack said.
“That's just wrong,” Jennifer said.
“You are telling us the truth, right?” Ethan asked.
“I swear to god I am,” Zack said. They went downstairs and saw Thomas, Lacey, and the two guys in the cells.
“Zack!” Thomas said.
“Bro!” Lacey said.
“I told you so,” Zack said.
“Zack please help us,” Lacey said.
“So now you want my help,” Zack said.
“Zack, son, please, get us out of here,” Thomas said.
“Why should I, huh, you decided to go up against the biggest baddest mafia leader in Miami, you should have known how it would turn out,” Zack said.
“Zack,” Thomas said.
“Why, Dad, why did you never love me?” Zack asked.
“I do,” Thomas said.
“No you don't, she always got everything, she could never do no wrong in your eyes,” Zack said.
“Zack,” Thomas said.
“Sis, want to tell Dad who really took his prized car for a joy ride?” Zack asked.
“Zack, don't go blaming your sister,” Thomas said.
“It's true, Daddy, it was me, not Zack, I took the car, he caught me and took the keys, that's why you caught him with them, because he took them from me after I got back,” Lacey said.
“And?” Zack said.
“I drove your motorcycle too,” Lacey said.
“What!” Thomas said.
“I'm sorry, Daddy, I knew I would get away with it,” Lacey said.
“And I would get blamed,” Zack said.
“Oh god Zack, I'm so sorry,” Thomas said.
“It's too late,” Zack said.
“You are going to let him do this to us?” Thomas asked.
“I can't save you, you both went too far, kidnapping a pregnant woman just to get her husband to marry my sister, why does it have to be him, why can't you find your own man, sis, why go after a married man,” Zack said.
“It was Dad's idea,” Lacey said.
“I thought we could combine the families,” Thomas said.
“You went about it the wrong way,” Ethan said.
“Oh god I'm sorry, I was wrong,” Thomas said.
“The truth is that it wasn't you that I wanted, it was him,” Lacey said. She pointed to Alex. Ethan looked at her and at Alex.
“Me?” Alex asked.
“Yes, I told him that I wanted to meet you and who you worked for and he came up with the idea for me to be with Ethan,” Lacey said.
“And he wouldn't listen to you either,” Zack said.
“No he didn't,” Lacey said.
“Let her go, Ethan,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, you sure?” Ethan asked.
“Alex?” Jennifer asked.
“I want to go out with her,” Alex said.
“As long as it's not a plot to get to Ethan,” Zack said.
“It's not, I swear,” Lacey said.
“All right,” Ethan said. They let her out and she went to Alex and they went to talk.
“Lacey!” Thomas said.
“Sorry Daddy, Alex is the one I wanted all along, you just wanted the power that Ethan has,” Lacey said.
“Dad,” Zack said.
“Zack, please, son,” Thomas said.
“I can't help you, Dad, you went too far, all you wanted was power, you don't care about anything else,” Zack said. He pulled out his gun and pointed it.

Jennifer stood there in shock at what she just witnessed. Zack was shaking as he held the gun. He dropped it.
“I'm free,” Zack said.
“Zack?” Lacey asked.
“Lacey,” Zack said. She saw inside the cells. She looked at Zack.
“You killed him,” Lacey said.
“I had to,” Zack said.
“I know, he did go too far with this plan of his, he wouldn't listen to either one of us,” Lacey said.
“Lacey, I need to tell you something,” Zack said.
“What is it?” Lacey asked.
“I'm gay,” Zack said.
“Oh Zack, come here,” Lacey said. She hugged him tight.
“Lacey?” Zack asked.
“I support you, bro, it's just us now,” Lacey said.
“Zack, there is something Seth would like to tell you,” Ethan said.
“I'm gay as well and I would like to know if you want to go out with me,” Seth said.
“Yes, let's go,” Zack said. They left. Lacey left with Alex. Ethan called a cleanup crew. He and Jennifer closed up the club and went home.
“Baby,” Ethan said.
“Hmmm,” Jennifer said.
“You okay baby,” Ethan said.
“Yeah just a crazy day,” Jennifer said.
“I'm so glad you're okay and you didn't get hurt,” Ethan said.
“I knew I had to remain calm, I knew I had to keep our babies safe and that you would save me,” Jennifer said.
“I would give my life for you, you are everything to me, if I lost you, I couldn't go on, I just can't live without you,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, promise me something,” Jennifer said.
“What do I promise?” Ethan said.
“That if something happens during the birth of our babies, if something goes wrong, I'm not saying it will but in the case that it does, you promise that you will live for our babies, if I'm not here, they will need you, they will need their father, promise you will be the father they need and deserve if I'm not here,” Jennifer said.
“Jen, baby,” Ethan said.
“Promise me, Ethan, please,” Jennifer said.
“Is there something you aren't telling me?” Ethan asked.
“No babe, I swear to you that I'm not keeping anything from you, this is just in case something goes wrong when it comes time to give birth,” Jennifer said.
“So you want me to live without you,” Ethan said.
“I want you to live so our children will have a parent and not be orphans,” Jennifer said.
“They will have parents in their godparents,” Ethan said.
“But they deserve to have one of us here with them,” Jennifer said.
“Then all I have to say is no matter what, you fight for us, you fight to stay with us,” Ethan said.

“I don't know if I'll be able to keep it but I promise,” Ethan said. He kissed her softly as he hugged her close.
“Oh god,” Jennifer said.
“Baby?” Ethan asked.
“I think my water broke,” Jennifer said. He looked down and saw her pants and picked her up and carried her out the door and went to the hospital. He carried her in.
“I need help, her water broke but there's blood with it,” Ethan said.
“Oh god!” Jennifer said. She grabbed her stomach. They got her in a room and went to work on her. Ethan held her hand.
“I love you baby, I'm right here,” Ethan said.
“Don't leave me!” Jennifer said.
“I'm not going anywhere, they will have to get security to get me away from you,” Ethan said.
“Jennifer, Ethan,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc please, so much pain, the babies,” Jennifer said.
“Let me check it out,” Dr. Peters said. She examined her and looked at them.
“You are in labor and we will have to do a c-section to get them out, Ethan, you will have to wait in the waiting room,” Dr. Peters said.
“I need him with me,” Jennifer said.
“Jennifer, I'm sorry but it's policy, there won't be room for him with the nurses here and a doctor who will be assisting me,” Dr. Peters said.
“Fine, just please don't let anything happen to my wife and babies, take care of them please, they are my life,” Ethan said.
“I will do everything I can, Ethan,” Dr. Peters said. Ethan kissed Jennifer deeply and rested his forehead against hers.
“I love you so much, baby, remember that and come back to me,” Ethan said.
“I love you and I promise,” Jennifer said. Ethan left the room and sat in the waiting room and called the family who showed up sometime later and they all sat and waited.

Chapter 53

Ethan got up and paced the waiting room. Eric got up and came over to him. Michael followed.
“Ethan,” Michael said.
“Bro,” Eric said
“I'm scared,” Ethan said.
“We know you are but she's got the doctors and nurses with her,” Eric said.
“I should be with her!” Ethan said.
“She will be okay, son, she knows you are close,” Michael said.
“Boss,” Alex said.
“Boss,” Seth said. He saw them there with Lacey and Zack.
“Hey,” Ethan said.
“Is it okay that we are here?” Lacey asked.
“We can go if it's not,” Zack said.
“It's fine, you guys are with Seth and Alex so it's fine,” Ethan said.
“What's going on, Ethan?” Alex asked.
“Her water broke and there was blood with it so I brought her here and they have to do an emergency c-section and I have to wait out here,” Ethan said.
“She's going to be okay, they will do everything they can for her,” Seth said.
“Ethan?” Dr. Peters said. They saw her standing there. Ethan walked to her. Eric and Michael stood with him.
“Doc, please tell me she's okay,” Ethan said.
“Come with me, Ethan,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc, they are all family okay so tell us what is going on,” Ethan said.
“We got the babies out and they are in the nursery, they are healthy and thriving,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc,” Amber said.
“What about my daughter?” David asked.
“Please tell us she's okay, please,” Amber said.
“Doc, please tell me my wife is okay,” Ethan said.
“She lost a lot of blood during the c-section and we couldn't get it stopped,” Dr. Peters said.
“Oh god no,” Callie said.
“Doc, what are you saying?” James asked.
“Doc please,” Ethan said.
“Ethan,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc no, please no, just tell me she's okay, tell me she is okay,” Ethan said.
“I wish I could say she's okay but I can't say that,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc what exactly are you saying?” Matthew asked.

“Doc, please tell us,” Becca said.
“Doc please,” Ashley said.
“Doc, please tell me she's still with us,” Ethan said.
“Please tell us she's not gone,” Amber said.
“Doc,” David said.
“I'm sorry I wish I had better news,” Dr. Peters said.
“Doc, please tell me what's going on,” Ethan said. They all looked at her. She looked at all of them and looked at Ethan.
“Ethan, we did all we could but something happened during the surgery,” Dr. Peters said.
“No, please, doc, what exactly are you saying,” Ethan said. They looked at her as Eric and Michael stood next to him.

Chapter 54

They all stood there looking at Dr. Peters.
“Doc please,” Ethan said. Tears ran down his cheeks as he looked at her.
“Due to the blood loss, we had to remove her uterus and that stopped the bleeding but she slipped into a coma as a result, we don't know when or if she will wake up,” Dr. Peters said.
“Oh god,” Becca said.
“But she's alive right, she will live?” James asked.
“She's stable for now, we will monitor her very closely,” Dr. Peters said.
“Can I go to her?” Ethan asked.
“They are getting her situated in a room so you can soon,” Dr. Peters said.
“You said you had to remove her uterus, so she can't have more children?” Amber asked.
“I'm sorry but it was the only way to stop the bleeding,” Dr. Peters said.
“As long as she's alive, that's all that matters, if we want more kids, we can adopt,” Ethan said.
“We didn't have to remove her ovaries and they will continue to produce eggs but she won't be able to carry a baby,” Dr. Peters said.
“We will decide when it's time,” Ethan said.
“I'm going to go check on her and I'll be back to get you to take you to her,” Dr. Peters said. She went down the hall. Ethan sank to the floor. Eric knelt down and hugged him.
“She's alive, bro,” Eric said.
“Thank god, I can't live without her,” Ethan said.
“Let's go see your babies,” Eric said.
“I'll come get you when she comes back,” James said. They went to the window of the nursery and saw the three beds with Ross on the label.
“My boy, my girls,” Ethan said.
“They are beautiful, man,” Eric said.
“They are the only kids we will have,” Ethan said.
“You said you can adopt and Dr. Peters said there was the other option, it's not the end, bro,” Eric said.
“Everything we've been through and now this, what if she never wakes up,” Ethan said.
“She will, bro, she will come back to you and to them, she knows you are here for her, she will fight her way back to you,” Eric said.
“My babies, Daddy's here,” Ethan said. They had opened their eyes and looking at him. He put his hand on the window.
“Wow, they are beautiful,” James said.
“Handsome boy, beautiful girls,” Ashley said.
“You can go be with Jen, bro,” James said. Ethan went back to the waiting room and went with Dr. Peters to the room they had Jennifer in and he walked in and saw her lying there hooked up to machines.
“She's so pale,” Ethan said.
“That's from the blood loss, we got her more blood so her color should be coming back soon,” Dr. Peters said.
“Thank you Dr. Peters,” Ethan said.
“You're welcome, I'll have an orderly bring in a bed for you because I know you probably won't leave her,” Dr. Peters said.
“Not until she does,” Ethan said.
“What about when the babies are ready to go,” Dr. Peters said.
“Hopefully she will be awake by then, if not, we got family to help,” Ethan said.
“All right, I'll be back soon,” Dr. Peters said. She left the room. Ethan took Jennifer's hand in his and held it to his face.
“Hey baby, I'm here, I hope you can hear me, our babies are here, they are beautiful and healthy, baby please wake up soon, I can't imagine my life without you,” Ethan said. He kissed her hand and held it against her cheek as he watched her.

Chapter 55

Three hours later, Dr. Peters came in with an orderly to set up a bed.
“Ethan, I need the babies's names for their birth certificates,” Dr. Peters said.
“Jackson David Ross for the boy and Samantha Michelle Ross and Hayley Ann Ross for the girls,” Ethan said.
“Got it, they should be ready to go home in two days,” Dr. Peters said.
“Okay,” Ethan said. She left the room with the orderly and he sat there watching her.
Two days later, the babies were heading home. Ethan didn't want to leave Jennifer but felt he should at least take them home. James stayed with his twin while Ethan got the babies ready to go.
“Uncle Eric is here,” Eric said.
“Thanks for helping me, bro,” Ethan said.
“Of course,” Eric said. Ethan looked at his son and daughters. He felt a tear run down his cheek.
“Hey hey bro, what is it,” Eric said.
“This is something we should be doing together, me and Jen, bringing our babies home together, not me alone, they deserve to have their mom and dad bringing them home, it shouldn't be their dad and their uncle,” Ethan said.
“I know bro, but you know they should be able to go home to the house,” Eric said.
“Yeah,” Ethan said.
“Who is going to take care of them while you are here with Jen?” Eric asked.
“Matthew and Callie are going to alternate with David and Amber so they all aren't overwhelmed,” Ethan said.
“Me and Becca can take some days and nights too,” Eric said.

“Jake can bond with his cousins,” Eric said.
“Let's get these little ones home so I can rest and come back to be with my wife,” Ethan said. They took the babies home and got them inside where Callie, Matthew, David, and Amber were waiting. They gushed over the babies.

Chapter 56

Ethan stood outside the door of the room and heard voices.
“Jen,” James said.
“What's going on, bro, why am I here?” Jennifer asked.
“You don't know?” James asked.
“No, I remember being at my apartment getting ready for work,” Jennifer said.
“What year is it?” James said.
“2019,” Jennifer said.
“Date?” James asked.
“June 21st,” Jennifer said. Ethan's heart sank as he realized that she had amnesia. He quietly left the hospital and went back home and walked in and sat down in a chair.
“Ethan?” Matthew asked.
“I thought you went to be with Jen?” Callie asked.
“She's awake,” Ethan said.

“What are we going to do, she will want to go home to her apartment but she can't because it's not hers anymore,” James said.
“We will just say she had to move out because they were doing away with them to make the building an office building,” David said.
“I wish we could just tell her everything she's missing,” James said.

Three days later, Ethan heard Jennifer was released from the hospital and was recovering at her parents house. He and Amber talked when she came to get some clothes for Jennifer. He stood at the door of the nursery.

“What,” Ethan said.
“Becca and I got them, go get some paperwork and payroll done,” Eric said.
“Okay,” Ethan said. He left and went to the club and went to his office and sat down and started on paperwork.

“Eric told us,” Alex said.

“Oh and Danny and Paul are here,” Alex said.

“Home on bed rest, we are expecting and she had a scare last week so the doctor put her on bed rest for a couple of months, her mom is with her while I'm here,” Daniel said.

“James, my heart is broken, my babies don't have a mother right now, there is no way of knowing if she will ever come back, I just have to face the fact that my wife is gone, their mother is gone, I have to go on, somehow I have to,” Ethan said.

“I don't know what else to do, I can't see her because all I want to do is pull her into my arms and never let go and that would hurt her because she doesn't know me, she doesn't know she has a son and two daughters, you said the doctor wants her to remember on her own, it's best to let it be,” Ethan said.
“So you are going to file for a divorce,” James said.

“Not in so many words,” James said.
“I can't divorce her unless there is no more hope of her memory coming back or she meets someone else,” Ethan said. James heard his phone beep and he looked at it.

Chapter 58

Three weeks later, things were still the same. Jennifer had the all clear to go back to work. There was no change in her memory. Ethan was enjoying being a father. He was glad to have help in Matthew and Callie.
“Thanks guys for helping me with the babies,” Ethan said.
“I'm their godfather, they are precious,” Matthew said.
“They are little angels, I'm glad to be their godmother, it gives us practice for when our time comes,” Callie said.
“Baby?” Matthew asked.
“Three weeks along, babe,” Callie said.

James looked at the phone and looked at them.
“James?” Ethan asked.
“Babe?” Ashley asked.
“Dad is on his way here with Jen,” James said.

“OH god, she's back?” Ashley asked.
“I'm not sure, all he said was that he and Jen were on their way here,” James said.
“That can only mean that she remembers Ethan,” Callie said.
“Or she knows Brad and James are here,” Matthew said.
“I didn't tell anyone but James that I was coming here,” Brad said.
“I didn't tell my dad either,” James said.
“Oh god,” Ethan said.
“She has to have her memory back,” Ashley said.
“Or Dad is going against the doctor's orders and forcing her to remember or he told her,” James said. They heard the front door open and close. David came in with Jennifer.

“I brought someone home,” David.

“They are right here,” Ethan said. She went to the bassinet and gazed at them as they slept.
“Oh my goodness, they are so precious, oh god how could I forget them,” Jennifer said.

“I know, I can't believe they are here, they're okay,” Jennifer said.
“They are perfect,” Ethan said.
“Jen?” Brad asked.

“James told me everything that happened and I'm keeping my promise to them,” Brad said.

“It won't be easy to hear,” Ashley said. Ethan sat down with her in his lap and he held her close.
“What is it,” Jennifer said.
“Baby, when they were getting the babies out, they had trouble getting the bleeding to stop so they had to remove your uterus,” Ethan said.
“So these three babies are the only ones we will ever have,” Jennifer said.
“They left your ovaries so you can still produce eggs, you just can't carry them,” Ethan said.
“Oh,” Jennifer said.
“They tried to stop it without taking it out but it didn't, it caused you to go into a coma,” James said.
“Ethan didn't want to leave you but he left to bring the babies home but when he went back, he heard you awake and talking with James and realized you lost your memory,” Ashley said.
“Oh Ethan, I'm glad you brought them home,” Jennifer said.
“I wanted to do it with you,” Ethan said.
“I wish I could have,” Jennifer said.
“You are home now and that's all that matters,” Ethan said. She smiled and snuggled up against him.

Chapter 60

Things were back to normal. Jennifer was enjoying motherhood as she quickly bonded with the triplets. They immediately took to her like they knew she was their mother. She and Ethan had a long talk about more children and decided that Jackson, Samantha, and Hayley were enough for them. She talked with Dr. Peters and was able to develop some eggs and got them extracted and frozen in case they changed their mind down the road. They were happy as a family of five and no one bothered them.

James and Ashley found out that they were expecting another baby. When she was four months along, they found out that they were having twins. Ashley talked with James and he agreed that once the twins were born, he would get a vasectomy. They knew they would be happy with just being a family of five like Ethan and Jennifer were.

Eric and Becca found out they were expecting at the same time as James and Ashley. They were only having one baby. They also decided to stop at two babies. They were doing aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephew.

Michael, David, and Amber were doting grandparents to the babies. There would be times they would babysit so the couples could have a break. Michael met someone he felt was the right person for him. Her name was Diane Lansing. Ethan and Eric gave their approval and soon Michael and Diane were engaged to be married.

Matthew and Callie got married in a small ceremony with just the family. They found a house close to Ethan and Jennifer.

Seth and Zack got married in a small ceremony a month after Matthew and Callie. They had a double wedding with Alex and Lacey. A month later, Lacey was expecting their first child. She became best friends with Jennifer, Becca, Callie, and Ashley and they often had girls day at the spa. Amber and Diane joined them at times.

Daniel and Tanya had a baby and three months later were expecting their second child. Jennifer forgave Tanya and she soon joined them on girls days.

Ethan kept in touch with Brett once a month by phone but he never made a trip to Miami to visit as he was busy with the army. He found his other half who was in the army also.
