Kelly sat in her office at the bakery she owned with her twin siser and best friends.
“Sis, what's wrong?” Kate asked.
“It was our anniversary yesterday and he never showed up, he called and said he had to go out of town for work but I called my father-in-law and he said there was no reason for him to go out of town,” Kelly said.
“So he lied about it,” Kate said.
“Yeah, it's becoming a habit, I don't know what to do,” Kelly said.
“Divorce his ass,” Kate said.
“Sis,” Kelly said.
“He's an asshole who left his wife alone on your anniversary and lied to you,” Kate said.
“Hey guys,” Melanie said.
“Mel, where is that good for nothing brother of yours,” Kate said.
“At work I assume?” Melanie said.
“Do you have any clue where he was last night?” Kate asked.
“Home?” Melanie asked.
“Nope,” Kelly said.
“What happened?” Melanie said.
“He called and said he was going out of town for work, I called your dad, he said there was no work out of town for him to go for,” Kelly said.
“That lying sack of shit, I'll be back, sis,” Melanie said. She left. Kelly sat back in her chair. Kate sat down at her desk.
“Hey girls,” Tara said.
“How's it looking out there?” Kelly asked.
“It's okay, Sarah has it covered,” Tara said.
“Where's my beautiful wife?” Ryan asked.
“Baby!” Kate said. She jumped up and went to him and hugged him.
“I missed you today,” Ryan said.
“I missed you too,” Kate said.
“Hey bro,” Kelly said.
“Hey sis, what's going on?” Ryan asked.
“Not much, just my husband is a lying sack of shit,” Kelly said.
“I'm what now?” Mitch asked.
“You're in trouble man,” Ryan said.
“Asshole,” Kate said.
“What did I do?” Mitch asked.
“You lied to me that's what,” Kelly said.
“You didn't go out of town yesterday,” Kate said.
“I called your dad,” Kelly said.
“Kel, baby, I'm sorry,” Mitch said.
“It was our three year wedding anniversary yesterday and you couldn't come home and made up some excuse, where were you,” Kelly said.
“I went on a road trip to get something for you,” Mitch said.
“What did you get,” Kelly said.
“It's outside,” Mitch said.
“Mitch,” Kelly said.
“Kel, come on,” Mitch said. She shook her head and got up and walked out the door and went to the front door and opened it and and saw it.
“What the?” Kelly asked.
“It's the one you wanted right?” Mitch asked.
“Yes,” Kelly said.
“I found it at a car dealership about two hours away,” Mitch said.
“But there are dealerships here,” Kelly said.
“They didn't have your color baby,” Mitch said.
“Mitch,” Kelly said.
“Happy Anniversary, baby,” Mitch said.
“Wow, I guess this made up for missing the actual day,” Kate said.
“Kate,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Ryan said.
“It's fine, I'll be making it up to her for awhile, this is a start, next week is birthdays,” Mitch said.
“Better not come up with an excuse to forget it,” Kate said.
“No because she is going with me to the Maldives,” Mitch said.
“What?” Kelly asked.
“Happy Early Birthday baby, a second honeymoon,” Mitch said.
“Okay I was wrong,” Kate said.
“What's that, Kate?” Mitch asked.
“Sis,” Kelly said.
“Sorry,” Kate said. Kelly looked at her husband and hugged him tight. He buried his face in her neck.
“I love you and I'm sorry about yesterday,” Mitch said.
“Just don't do it again,” Kelly said.
“I promise baby,” Mitch said. He kissed her and they went for a drive.

Chapter 2

Two weeks later, Kelly walked into the bakery after coming home from the trip she and Mitch took. Sarah and Tara were there.
“Hello ladies,” Kelly said.
“Hey girl, how was the trip?” Tara asked.
“Amazing, it was like our honeymoon all over again,” Kelly said.
“So you guys never left the bed?” Sarah asked.
“Oh we did, we would do things like snorkeling at the Banana Reef, went to the beach, swimming, romantic dinners, and every night we would be in bed making love,” Kelly said.
“So babies could be coming soon?” Tara asked.
“I'm still on the pill, he still says he's not ready yet,” Kelly said.
“Your parents want grand babies soon,” Sarah said.
“Well they will be getting one, I'm pregnant!” Kate said.
“Oh sis!” Kelly said. They hugged. Tara and Sarah hugged her.
“Ryan is over the moon, he's beyond excited, he wants me to cut back my hours here,” Kate said.
“You are working four days as it is,” Kelly said.
“But eight hour days,” Kate said.
“But you are sitting in the office with me most of the time helping me with paperwork and the bills,” Kelly said.
“I told him that,” Kate said.
“Fine six hours,” Kelly said.
“No sis, I told him I'm not changing my hours, he will just have to deal with it,” Kate said.
“Oh really,” Ryan said.
“Seriously bro, she and I own this bakery and I need her help in the office, she's sitting in a comfy chair,” Kelly said.
“Okay okay sorry, she's just carrying precious cargo,” Ryan said.
“I get you are worried but I will be fine okay my love,” Kate said.
“Okay baby, but you call me if you need me,” Ryan said.
“I will, I love you,” Kate said.
“I love you too,” Ryan said. He kissed her and left. Kate and Kelly went to the office where Kelly told her about the trip.
“Sis, I would just stop the pills anyways,” Kate said.
“I don't know, something is tell me not to,” Kelly said.
“Kel, you have a visitor,” Tara said.
“Who is it?” Kelly asked.
“Matt,” Tara said. Kelly got up and went out and saw her brother-in-law standing at the counter drinking coffee.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Hey beautiful, I've missed you,” Matthew said.
“Oh you have huh,” Kelly said.
“Yeah, heard you just got back from a trip with your husband,” Matthew said.
“Your brother yes I did,” Kelly said.
“Have a good time?” Matthew asked.
“Yes I did, it was a second honeymoon,” Kelly said.
“That's great, so you guys making me an uncle soon?” Matthew asked.
“Not yet,” Kelly said.
“Hey guys,” Benjamin said
“Hey Ben,” Kelly said.
“Hey boys what's up?” Sarah asked.
“Hey Sarah, just a coffee to go, I've got to get back to the job site,” Benjamin said.
“I better get back to the office, see ya sis,” Matthew said.
“Bye Matt,” Kelly said.
“How are you gorgeous,” Benjamin said.
“I'm good, how's the job?” Kelly asked.
“It's going very well,” Benjamin said.
“That's good,” Kelly said.
“I better get going, gorgeous, see you soon,” Benjamin said. He went out the door and she looked at the girls.
“Gorgeous? Beautiful? I think they have the hots for you,” Tara said.
“They've always called me those names and Mitch knows and agreed of them calling me,” Kelly said.
“He's okay with his brothers calling you gorgeous and beautiful,” Tara said.
“Yeah because he knows that nothing will happen with them, he trusts me and he trusts his brothers, he knows they won't cross the boundaries,” Kelly said.
“Yet,” Sarah said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“They both were looking at you,” Tara said.
“Both were eye fucking you,” Sarah said.
“Oh yeah,” Tara said.
“They wouldn't do that to their brother,” Kelly said.
“They both want you in their bed,” Sarah said.
“You both are wrong, okay, you are wrong,” Kelly said. She went to the office and sat down and worked on some bills.

Chapter 3

Three days later, Kelly was at the bakery helping a customer when Benjamin came in.
“Hey gorgeous,” Benjamin said.
“Hi Ben,” Kelly said.
“How's my favorite sister-in-law doing?” Benjamin asked.
“I'm fine and I'm your only sister-in-law,” Kelly said.
“I know that, that's why you are my favorite one,” Benjamin said.
“Hey Ben,” Sarah said.
“Sarah, how are you,” Benjamin said.
“I'm good,” Sarah said.
“Are you ready?” Benjamin asked.
“Yeah, is it okay for me to go, Kel?” Sarah asked.
“You guys got a date?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah I asked her the other day,” Benjamin said.
“Go on, have a good time,” Kelly said.
“Okay see ya tomorrow,” Sarah said.
“Bye sis!” Benjamin said. They left and Kelly smiled and cleaned the counter.
“Hey beautiful,” Matthew said.
“Matt, what's up?” Kelly asked.
“I came to see my favorite sister-in-law,” Matthew said.
“As I told Ben, I'm your only sister-in-law,” Kelly said.
“And I'm sure he said that it makes you our favorite,” Matthew said.
“Yeah so what would you like?” Kelly asked.
“A latte please sis,” Matthew said.
“Coming right up,” Kelly said.
“Hey baby, hey bro,” Mitch said.
“Hey bro,” Matthew said.
“Hey what brings you by?” Kelly asked.
“Just letting you know that I'll be working late,” Mitch said.
“Oh babe,” Kelly said.
“I'm sorry baby,” Mitch said.
“It's fine, I'll be okay,” Kelly said.
“If you have to work late, how did you manage to get away?” Matthew asked.
“I took a lunch break and came here to tell her, I didn't want to tell her over the phone,” Mitch said.
“And I appreciate you coming to tell me, babe,” Kelly said. He came over to her and hugged her close and kissed her softly.
“I will text you when I'm headed home okay, I know you have an early morning so you don't need to wait up for me,” Mitch said.
“Okay, love you,” Kelly said.
“Love you baby,” Mitch said. He kissed her and went out the door. Matthew looked at her and smiled.
“I should get back to work, see you sis,” Matthew said.
“Bye bro,” Kelly said. He left and she saw Tara and Kate come in.
“Hey sis,” Kate said.
“Hey you don't look so well,” Kelly said.
“Morning sickness is kicking my butt,” Kate said.
“Go on home, sis, you should rest,” Kelly said.
“Are you sure?” Kate asked.
“Yes, we are sure, I can call Mel in,” Tara said.
“No need, I'm here,” Melanie said.
“I'm here to keep you guys company,” David said.
“Hey bro,” Kate said.
“Should I call Ryan?” David asked.
“You better call him,” Kelly said. Kate collapsed to the floor. Kelly ran to her. David called Ryan. He picked her up after he got done and carried her to the office and laid her on the couch there.
“Morning sickness?” David asked.
“Yeah she said it was kicking her butt,” Kelly said.
“Kate!” Ryan said. He came running in just as Tara put a cold washcloth on her forehead. He knelt down beside her.
“She said morning sickness was bothering her, I told her to go home,” Kelly said.
“Kel, I think she should take off work, I can be here more often,” Melanie said.
“Baby,” David said.
“David,” Melanie said.
“I love you,” David said.
“Love you too, you don't mind right?” Melanie said.
“No baby, I think it's a good idea, she needs to rest more,” David said.
“Kate baby?” Ryan asked.
“What happened,” Kate said.
“You fainted sis,” Kelly said.
“Oh god,” Kate said.
“We should go to the doctor,” Ryan said.
“Ryan,” Kate said.
“Sis, you should go to be safe,” Kelly said.
“All right,” Kate said. Ryan helped her up and they left. Kelly worked on some paperwork while Melanie and Tara covered the front. A few hours later, they closed up and went home. Kelly drove to Mitch's office with some food and went to his office and heard sounds coming from inside and she opened the door slowly and saw something that made her heart break. Her husband fucking his assistant on his desk.
“What the hell Mitch!” Kelly said.
“Oh god Kel!” Mitch said. He pulled away and got dressed as did his assistant. She threw the bag of food at him.
“I can't believe you!” Kelly said.
“Baby please,” Mitch said.
“Don't call me that, not anymore, we are done! It's over!” Kelly yelled. She ran out the door and got on the elevator and the doors closes and she ran out when she got on the ground floor.
“Kelly!” Mitch yelled.
“Leave me alone!” Kelly yelled. She ran to her car and got in and drove off. She went to Kate's house and went to the door and knocked. Ryan opened it and saw her.
“Kel, sis, what happened?” Ryan asked. She broke down crying and he pulled her in and closed the door.
“I took food to Mitch at his office and found him fucking his assistant on his desk,” Kelly said crying.
“Oh my god, he's so dead!” Ryan said.
“No he's not worth it, I told him I was done,” Kelly said.
“Come on,” Ryan said.
“How's my sister,” Kelly said.
“She's fine, just resting,” Ryan said.
“The doctor said she was fine?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, she told her to rest after having morning sickness like she did,” Ryan said.
“I should go,” Kelly said.
“Nope, come on,” Ryan said. He made up the spare room and hugged her and left. She laid there on the bed and turned off her location on her phone and shut it off and fell asleep.

Chapter 4

Three days later, Kelly went home and found him there sitting on the couch. She went to the bedroom and began packing her bags. She sent a quick text as she packed. He came to the door.
“Kelly please,” Mitch said.
“Don't! I don't want to hear any excuses, there is no excuse for what you did, how long has it been going on?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly,” Mitch said.
“How fucking long?!” Kelly yelled.
“Three months,” Mitch said.
“And you said you loved me,” Kelly said.
“I do!” Mitch said.
“No you don't or you never would have fucked her in the first place! No man who says he loves his wife would ever cheat on her! You are not a man, you are nothing!” Kelly yelled.
“Mitch!” Matthew yelled. Matthew cam and pulled his brother away from the door.
“Matt,” Mitch said.
“I heard what you did, how could you do that!” Matthew said.
“It was a mistake!” Mitch said.
“A mistake is one time, three months isn't!” Matthew said.
“How did you find out?” Mitch asked.
“From her sister, she told me when I went to get coffee this morning,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Mitch said.
“Leave her be, Mitch, go for a walk for an hour and let her get her things out,” Matthew said.
“I'm not giving her a divorce,” Mitch said.
“You better,” Kelly said.
“I don't want to lose you!” Mitch said.
“You lost me the moment you put your dick inside Delia,” Kelly said.
“Go Mitch now!” Matthew said.
“Mitch,” Harris said.
“Dad,” Mitch said.
“Let's go,” Harris said.
“Dad,” Mitch said.
“Do not argue with me, let's go for a walk, you will give her what she wants, son, she deserves better than a man who would cheat on his wife,” Harris said.
“Like you never cheated,” Mitch said.
“I would never do that to your mother, I never cheated on her,” Harris said.
“Who is Maria?” Mitch asked.
“She's the sister of Marcus Sawyer, she's your mother's best friend,” Harris said.
“I saw you, Dad, kissing her,” Mitch said.
“No you saw her kissing me but I never returned the kiss and your mother knows she kissed me, I would never do anything to hurt your mother, she's my life, I thought Kelly was yours but apparently not, you destroyed your marriage,” Harris said.
“Get him out Dad, I'll help her finish up and get her stuff in her car,” Matthew said. Harris pulled Mitch out the door. Matthew went to Kelly and she broke down in his arms.
“Oh beautiful it will be all right, let's get your stuff and get out of here,” Matthew said. They finished packing up her stuff and got it all in her car and his.
“Thank you Matt,” Kelly said.
“You're welcome, now where are you staying? Matthew asked.
“I was staying at Kate's, being there for her and Ryan, she's having a rough time with her pregnancy,” Kelly said.
“Let's go then,” Matthew said. They went to Kate's house and got out. Ryan came out.
“Hey Matt,” Ryan said.
“Hey man, got her stuff here,” Matthew said.
“Let's get it inside,” Ryan said. They got her stuff moved into the house and she got her clothes in the bedroom and the rest in the other spare room for the time being.
“So I'll be going now,” Matthew said.
“Thanks for the help, Matt,” Kelly said.
“Of course beautiful, see you later,” Matthew said. He kissed her cheek and hugged her and left. Kelly sat on the bed. Ryan sat next to her.
“You okay sis?” Ryan asked.
“I guess so, are you okay with me staying here?” Kelly asked.
“Of course, Kate wants you here, I'm glad you are here for her, it makes me feel better knowing you are helping her,” Ryan said.
“I just can't believe he did this to me, he's been fucking her for three months, he said he loved me, how can he say that while he slept with her for three months,” Kelly said.
“He's an asshole, I'll call David tomorrow, so you can divorce his ass,” Ryan said.
“I guess it's good having a lawyer in the family,” Kelly said.
“The best one at that,” Ryan said.
“I'm glad my sister has you,” Kelly said.
“I'm glad to have you as a sister,” Ryan said.
“Love you bro,” Kelly said.
“Love you sis,” Ryan said. He kissed her head and hugged her. Kate came in and joined the hug.
“Sis,” Kate said. Kelly told her everything. Kate hugged her.
“I could kill him,” Kate said.
“Don't bother, he's not worth it,” Kelly said.
“Does Mom and Dad know?” Kate asked.
“No, they are traveling around Europe, I didn't want to ruin their trip,” Kelly said
“They would understand, sis, they would want to be here for you,” Kate said.
“Mom would blame me probably,” Kelly said.
“Why would she,” Ryan said.
“Because she will think I didn't keep him satisfied,” Kelly said.
“That's bullshit,” Kate said.
“Yeah but I have a feeling that's what she will think,” Kelly said. Kate hugged her and she and Ryan left the room. Kelly laid on the bed and curled up and went to sleep.

Chapter 5

Three weeks later, Kelly found herself a house close to Kate and Ryan. She got all moved in and settled. She was sitting in the office at the bakery working on the bills. Sarah came in and sat down.
“What's up girl,” Kelly said.
“I'm officially taken, me and Ben are official,” Sarah said.
“I'm happy for you both,” Kelly said.
“He told me he's been in love with you ever since he met you,” Sarah said.
“Oh boy,” Kelly said.
“Last night he told me he loves me, he also told me that he's past any feelings he had for you, he said you will always be a sister to him,” Sarah said.
“I'm glad,” Kelly said.
“How you holding up?” Sarah asked.
“I'm doing okay, I'm glad that I found out before anything happened,” Kelly said.
“What do you mean?” Sarah asked.
“Before I decided on whether to try for a baby,” Kelly said.
“And that ended that decision,” Sarah said.
“Yep,” Kelly said. They heard the front door ding announcing there was a customer. Kelly and Sarah went up front and the person there was the last person she was expecting to see.
“What the hell are you doing here,” Kelly said.
“I wanted to talk to you please,” Delia said.
“What could you have to say to me,” Kelly said.
“I wanted to explain it to you,” Delia said.
“I really don't care, he fucked you for three months, I can't forgive and forget,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, please,” Delia said.
“Why should I listen to anything you say, did he send you here to plead his case so I would take him back, tell him to go fuck himself,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, he's checked into rehab,” Delia said.
“What for?” Kelly asked.
“He had an accident at work five months ago, it wasn't bad but he required some painkillers to keep you from finding out because he didn't want you to worry or anything, he got hooked on them and he was so in need for them that he got mixed up and thought I was you, he called me Kelly,” Delia said.
“Oh geez,” Kelly said.
“Seems like bullshit to me,” Sarah said.
“Yeah he's just trying to get me to take him back, tell him I'm not going to take him back ever, he and I were over the moment his dick was inside you so get out of here and stay away from me,” Kelly said.
“Okay I'll go and I'm sorry for my part in all this,” Delia said. She left and Sarah looked at Kelly. Kelly went back to her office. Benjamin came in and smiled and kissed her.
“Hey baby,” Benjamin said.
“Hey,” Sarah said.
“What's going on?” Benjamin asked.
“You won't believe it,” Sarah said. She told him what happened. He sent a text and soon the door opened and Matthew came in. Kelly came out of her office and saw him and he took her in his arms as she sobbed against him.
“It's okay beautiful, I'm here,” Matthew said.
“Why can't he understand that I can't be with him anymore,” Kelly said.
“I don't know but I do know that he never deserved you,” Matthew said. The door opened and they looked and she saw her grandma walking in.
“Grandma!” Kelly said. She went and hugged her.
“Hi my sweet girl!” Martha said.
“How are you feeling?” Kelly asked.
“I'm felling good today, let's go have a seat and chat,” Martha said. She helped her sit down and she sat down. Matthew stood at the counter with Sarah.

Chapter 6

Kelly sat there with her grandma. The door opened and her parents came in.
“Hey sweetheart, hey Mom,” Peter said.
“Hi my boy,” Martha said. Peter leaned down and kissed her cheek and Kelly's and sat down at the table.
“Mom,” Kelly said.
“Kelly,” Melissa said. She sat down at the table with them. Kelly looked at her mother.
“What is it, I can tell you want to talk about something,” Kelly said.
“We heard about Mitch going to rehab,” Melissa said.
“Melissa,” Peter said.
“Yes, I know, his assistant was here and told me,” Kelly said.
“The assistant you found him with in his office,” Peter said.
“The assistant he was fucking when I walked in, yep,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, he made a mistake,” Melissa said.
“He made a mistake? Mom, are you kidding me, so he made the same mistake for three months, you are wrong, one time is a mistake, three straight months isn't,” Kelly said.
“Giving up on your marriage when he needs you to most,” Melissa said.
“Melissa!” Peter said.
“Melissa, what is wrong with you,” Martha said.
“He fucking cheated on me for three months and I'm the one giving up? Seriously Mom? Would you forgive Dad if he cheated on you for three months? Would you!” Kelly said.
“This isn't about me,” Melissa said.
“No, it's about me and I'm filing for a divorce as soon as possible, I am done, Mom, if you can't understand that and support me and my choice, then get out of here and don't come back until you do, this is my choice, I didn't give up on the marriage, he did by lying to me and cheating on me, I never gave him a reason for cheating that was his choice and this is mine!” Kelly said.
“Melissa, let's go,” Peter said.
“Peter,” Melissa said.
“No Melissa, now,” Peter said. She looked at Kelly and shook her head and got up. Peter hugged Kelly and Martha and led Melissa out the door. Kelly sat there shaking her head.
“Why did she do that, why does she think I should stand by Mitch after what he did,” Kelly said.
“I don't know honey but you have my support,” Martha said.
“Thank you Grandma,” Kelly said. Matthew came over to them and sat down with them.
“Matthew, how are you,” Martha said.
“I'm doing good, Martha, how are you?” Matthew asked.
“I'm doing well, just ashamed of my daughter-in-law right now,” Martha said.
“Yeah we heard it all and I can't believe her,” Matthew said.
“You are such a good friend to Kelly, thank you for being here for her,” Martha said.
“Always will be,” Matthew said. Kelly smiled. Martha left an hour later as did Matthew. Kelly sat in her office and did some paperwork. She called Kate and told her what their mother did. She called and told Paul as well. She sat there thinking about everything. She made a call to David to file for the divorce. He said he would have the papers ready in the morning.

Chapter 7

Kelly closed up the bakery and went home to her house and got something to eat. She sat there thinking about everything. She couldn't believe her own mother wanted her to get back with Mitch. She wondered why her mother wanted her to take his lying cheating ass back. The doorbell rang. She got up and went to the door and opened it and saw Paul and Tara.
“Hey bro,” Kelly said.
“Hey sis, can we come in?” Paul asked. She let them in and closed the door. They sat in the living room.
“What's up?” Kelly asked.
“After you called and told me what Mom said, I called Dad, he told me that Mom wasn't home so I drove around and saw her car at the rehab center,” Paul said.
“I have a friend who works there, I was texting them, they told me that your mom was visiting Mitch,” Tara said.
“Probably telling him that I plan to file for a divorce and wants him to fight it,” Kelly said.
“Exactly what is going on, she told him that she is going to make sure that the divorce doesn't happen,” Tara said.
“How can she stop it, she doesn't know who my lawyer is now, she thinks it's Larry,the family lawyer but it's not,” Kelly said.
“We know sis, she has connections at the courthouse,” Paul said.
“Why is she determined to keep me and Mitch married,” Kelly said.
“That's what Dad is going to find out,” Paul said.
“You told him?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, she's his wife, he deserved to know what she is up to,” Paul said. The front door opened and closed and Peter came in.
“Hey Dad what did you find out?” Paul said.
“There was a clause in your grandparents' will,” Peter said.
“What did it say?” Kelly asked.
“That if any of her kids gets a divorce, your mom loses her inheritance,” Peter said.
“What,” Paul said.
“But your mom doesn't know that it doesn't include infidelity, which means you are clear to divorce Mitch and your mom doesn't lose anything,” Peter said.
“So we can only divorce if our spouse cheats?” Paul said.
“Yes,” Peter said.
“Did you tell her that?” Kelly asked.
“Yes but she refused to listen, she is determined to keep you both together, she thinks you two are soulmates,” Peter said.
“Bullshit,” Kelly said.
“She is so stubborn,” Paul said.
“Yeah she is,” Peter said.
“Dad, what are you going to do,” Kelly said.
“Keep on her about it, I got ahold of the connections she has at the courthouse, they won't stop the divorce, so file the papers, honey,” Peter said.
“Okay Daddy, I love you,” Kelly said.
“I love you too baby girl, and you too son,” Peter said.
“Love you Dad,” Paul said. Peter hugged them and left. Paul and Tara hugged her and left. She locked up and went upstairs to the bedroom and took a shower and got into bed and sent a text to someone and went to sleep.

Chapter 8

She woke up the next morning and got up and dressed and went to the bakery and went to her office and found David there. She sat down and he handed her the papers.
“Kate and Ryan told me about your mom and her plans, I plan on getting them to the courthouse and into the hands of Michael,” David said.
“She has no clue who he is,” Kelly said.
“He is going to handle it personally and quietly, no one will know when the papers will be filed, you can say you are going to wait until he's done with rehab, but it will be done before then,” David said.
“Thanks David,” Kelly said.
“And Mel is totally on your side,” David said.
“I knew she would be,” Kelly said.
“Let me know when you are ready and I'll get it done,” David said.
“Thank you so much,” Kelly said.
“You're welcome,” David said. He left. She read through the papers and signed them. Sarah and Tara came in.
“The papers?” Tara asked.
“Yeah,” Kelly said.
“Want one of us to go with you to take them to him?” Sarah asked.
“No I'll be fine,” Kelly said. She left and went to the rehab center and stated her name and relationship to Mitch. She was led to a big living room area. She saw him sitting by the window staring out. He saw her and got up.
“Kelly, I'm glad to see you,” Mitch said.
“I wish I could say the same, I brought you these,” Kelly said. She handed him the papers and he took them and sat down.
“Your mother said you wouldn't go through with it,” Mitch said.
“Since when are you buddy buddy with my mom, I heard she was here visiting,” Kelly said.
“I am grateful for her support,” Mitch said.
“Are you fucking her too, that's the only explanation I can think of,” Kelly said.
“God no I wouldn't do that,” Mitch said.
“She calls what you did a mistake, that's wrong, one time is a mistake, three months is an affair, you both just don't get that part, I cannot forgive you for that,” Kelly said.
“I told her that but she said you would come around,” Mitch said.
“She's living in a fantasy world,” Kelly said. Mitch sat down and read the papers and looked at her.
“I get the house?” Mitch asked.
“Yes, I found me a place of my own closer to the bakery,” Kelly said.
“You don't want money,” Mitch said.
“No, the bakery has been doing well and I'm comfortable,” Kelly said.
“I wish it didn't have to be this way,” Mitch said.
“Yeah well it is, it didn't have to be if you were honest about your accident at work and getting hooked on painkillers and you didn't put your dick into your assistant and using the excuse that you thought she was me, she looks nothing like me and she isn't as skinny as me,” Kelly said. He nodded and signed the papers and handed them back to her.
“I'm sorry for everything, Kelly, I wish you all the best,” Mitch said.
“Thanks, I hope you get well for your brothers, sister, and your parents, goodbye Mitch,” Kelly said. She got up and walked out the door and went to David's office and handed him the papers. He hugged her and she went home.

Chapter 9

Kelly walked into the bakery and saw her mother at the counter. She walked by her.
“Kelly!” Melissa said.
“I don't want to talk to you, I told you not to come back until you support my choices,” Kelly said.
“You will not get your divorce,” Melissa said.
“Why do you want me to stay with a lying cheating asshole, huh, because your parents said none of your kids can get a divorce or you would lose your inheritance, is that it?!” Kelly said.
“No Kelly, your father told me about that, I don't want you to be seen as a woman who could keep her husband satisfied,” Melissa said.
“Oh so that's it, so you want me to be seen as a women whose husband cheats on her but she looks the other way and is too stupid to do anything about it, that I'm a woman who can't keep her husband happy so he looks for pleasure elsewhere, well I'm sorry Mom but I'm getting my divorce,” Kelly said. Her phone beeped and she looked at it and smiled.
“And I got it, my lawyer fast tracked it and got it finalized quickly,” Kelly said.
“What!” Melissa said.
“Yeah Mother, I'm a free woman, I'm no longer married, the judge signed off on it, I'm a single woman now, I can find a guy and get married tomorrow if I wanted to, I don't have to wait six months,” Kelly said.
“You divorced him while he was in rehab,” Melissa said.
“He understood why it had to happen, I didn't hold a gun to him, he signed it willing, he got the house and doesn't have to pay me alimony so it was a clean break,” Kelly said.
“Seriously Mom, I thought she told you to stay away,” Paul said.
“She just destroyed our family name,” Melissa said.
“So this what it was all about, our family name, wow, all I did was divorce my husband because he cheated on me when I gave him no reason to, I kept him happy, I gave him everything and he lied to me and cheated on me, and that's my fault right?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly,” Melissa said.
“Get the hell out of my bakery!” Kelly said.
“Kelly please,” Melissa said.
“GET OUT!” Kelly yelled.
“Go Mom now!” Paul said. Her mother quietly left the shop. Paul hugged her close. Tara stood with them rubbing her back.
“Hey what's going on?” Matthew asked.
“Oh Matt!” Kelly said. She went into his arms. He held her close.
“Our mother was here,” Paul said.
“Oh Kel,” Matthew said.
“What's going on,” Harris said.
“Her mother doesn't want her divorcing Mitch,” Matthew said.
“I was just with him, he got notice that it was finalized already,” Harris said.
“Yeah it happened quickly because my mom threatened to stop it, she thought it would destroy the family name,” Kelly said.
“She's wrong about that,” Harris said.
“I think there is more to it than that, I'm going to do some more investigating,” Paul said.
“I'll help you, Paul,” Harris said.
“Hey Daddy, bro,” Melanie said.
“Hi honey,” Harris said.
“What's going on?” Melanie asked. Sarah told her everything. “Paul, I'll call David and see if he can help you, from a legal standpoint,” Melanie said.
“Okay thanks Mel,” Paul said.
“Kel, you will always be my sister,” Melanie said.
“Same goes for you,” Kelly said.
“Hey all,” Laura said.
“Hey Mama,” Melanie said.
“What's going on,” Laura said. They told her what happened. She came over and hugged Kelly.
“You will always be our daughter, we love you,” Laura said.
“I love you all too,” Kelly said.
“Let's go have a chat, Kelly,” Laura said. They went and sat down at a table in the back out of earshot of everyone.

Chapter 10

Kelly sat there at the table with her former mother-in-law. Laura smiled at her.
“I wanted to talk with you about something that you need to know,” Laura said.
“What is it?” Kelly asked.
“The reason the divorce was finalized so quickly, because you and Mitch were not legally married,” Laura said.
“What?” Kelly said.
“No one knows this but me and Harris, we knew that Mitch would mess up and break your heart so we put things in motion to make sure that didn't happen but it did anyways before we could prevent it,” Laura said.
“What did you do?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly, you are married to Matthew,” Laura said.
“What?” Kelly asked.
“We set it for you to be married to Matthew,” Laura said.
“Is this a joke?” Kelly asked.
“No sweetie it isn't, you've been married to him all along, just only me and Harris knew about it,” Laura said.
“I can't believe this,” Kelly said.
“That's why your papers were quick because you and Mitch were not married,” Laura said.
“So I'm legally married to Matt,” Kelly said.
“Yes dear,” Laura said.
“I've got to go,” Kelly said. She got up and ran out the door and went home and closed the door and locked it and leaned against the door. She couldn't believe it. She and Mitch never were legally married. She was married to his brother the whole time.
“What am I going to do,” Kelly said. The doorbell rang. She looked out and saw Matthew standing there. She opened the door and looked at him.
“Hey beautiful, you ran out of the shop and I was worried about you, I asked my mom but she wouldn't say anything about it,” Matthew said.
“I'm fine, just was talking about the divorce and how much he hurt me,” Kelly said.
“Do you need anything?” Matthew asked.
“I'll be okay, really, I was going to go spend some time with Kate,” Kelly said.
“Sis!” Paul said.
“Paul, what's going on?” Kelly asked.
“I know why Mom was so set on keeping you and Mitch married,” Paul said.
“Why?” Matthew asked.
“Because it kept her from him,” Paul said.
“What?!” Kelly said.
“Are you saying your mom and my brother had an affair?” Matthew asked.
“Yes, Tara got a text from her friend at the rehab center, our mom was visiting him a lot, and today she caught them having sex in his room, our mother has been banned from the rehab center and they added a month to his stay there,” Paul said.
“What the hell!” Kelly said.
“I told Dad, he kicked her out and called David to file for a divorce,” Paul said.
“She won't give him one,” Kelly said.
“She will have no choice,” Paul said.
“How long have they been doing this?” Matthew asked.
“They met and hooked up before he and Kelly got together, while she and Dad were separated, she introduced him to Kelly and let them be together and marry each other while she and Dad got back together, she was upset when you left Mitch because she didn't want to be tempted to hook up with him behind Dad's back but I guess she couldn't do it anymore,” Paul said.
“I can't believe this,” Kelly said.
“I can't believe she did this and accused you of destroying our family name, she just did that herself,” Paul said.
“Well I found out something today that shocked me,” Kelly said.
“What did you find out, beautiful,” Matthew said.
“Mitch and I were never legally married,” Kelly said.
“What?!” Paul said.
“What?!” Matthew said.
“Your mom and dad knew he would hurt me so they made it so the marriage wasn't legal to prevent me from getting a broken heart,” Kelly said.
“I'm going to go talk to them,” Matthew said. He left. Pual hugged her. Kelly told him what else Laura told her.
“Sis you should have told him,” Paul said.
“I'm still in shock about it, maybe his mom will tell him,” Kelly said.
“Okay sis, take care,” Paul said. He hugged her and left. She headed to Kate's house.

Chapter 11

After visiting with Kate and telling her and Ryan everything that happened, she returned home and went inside and closed the door. She locked up and went upstairs and took a shower and put on some pajamas. She went to the kitchen and got something to eat. She heard the doorbell ring and went to the door and looked and saw Matthew. She opened the door.
“Matt?” Kelly said.
“Can I come in?” Matthew asked. She let him in and closed the door.
“Why didn't you tell me,” Matthew said.
“Tell you what?” Kelly asked.
“What my mom told you today,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“She told you about us being married and you couldn't tell me,” Matthew said.
“You left before I could,” Kelly said.
“I would rather have heard it from you than my mom,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry, you left before I could tell you,” Kelly said.
“I just have to ask you, do you want to stay married?” Matthew asked.
“What?” Kelly asked.
“Do you want us to stay married, because if you don't, I'll go to the lawyer tomorrow and file the papers and we can move on with our lives,” Matthew said.
“Is that what you want?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly, it's the last thing I want, I have to tell you that I've been in love with you since I first met you and I have always wanted you to be mine,” Matthew said.
“Oh god,” Kelly said. She sat down on the couch. He sat down beside her.
“Kelly,” Matthew said.
“I don't know what to say or think, I'm still trying to process everything,” Kelly said.
“Do you feel anything for me, anything at all?” Matthew asked.
“Oh Matt, I don't know what to feel anymore, everything is a mess, between finding out that the man I thought was my husband wasn't, only to find out that I'm married to his brother and then find out that my mother had been hooking up with him, it's alot to process, I need time,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, I will give you time, okay, just know that my feelings for you will never go away, they get stronger every day that I'm around you, you have always had my heart,” Matthew said.
“Matt, thank you,” Kelly said. He kissed her forehead and got up and went out the door. She locked up and went upstairs and laid down in bed and stared at the ceiling. She knew she had a lot to think about.
“Oh god what do I do?” Kelly asked. She got up and went downstairs and sat down in the kitchen. She looked at her phone and saw a picture of her and Matthew. She knew she felt something for him but she couldn't figure out what it was. She heard a noise at the front door and she got up and looked out and saw Matthew standing there. She opened the door and looked at him.
“I'm sorry, I couldn't leave,” Matthew said.
“I thought you were going to give me time,” Kelly said.
“Do you need it?” Matthew asked.
“Yeah, I couldn't sleep because of all the thoughts going through my head,” Kelly said. He came in and closed the door and locked it up.
“You are my wife, Kelly, we should be in the same house so tomorrow, you are moving in with me,” Matthew said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“You heard me,” Matthew said.
“Matt no,” Kelly said.
“Yes Kelly, you will,” Matthew said.
“Matthew, you are not the boss of me, I will not do what you say,” Kelly said.
“Fine then I'll move in here,” Matthew said.
“Matthew, go home,” Kelly said.
“I am home,” Matthew said. She stood there looking at him.

Chapter 12

Kelly stood there with her arms crossed looking at Matthew.
“You know what, fine do whatever you want, you get the couch,” Kelly said. She heads up the stairs to her bedroom and closes the door and locks it and lays on the bed.
“Kelly,” Matthew said.
“Blankets in the hall closet,” Kelly said.
“Kelly please,” Matthew said.
“No Matthew, I can't right now,” Kelly said.
“Why?” Matthew asked.
“You know why, okay, everything is all jumbled up in my head and I can't deal with it all right now,” Kelly said.
“Do you want me to leave, Kelly, because if I do, you won't ever see me again,” Matthew said.
“Matthew,” Kelly said.
“I mean it, Kelly, I will walk out of this house and out of your life forever,” Matthew said.
“Why can't you understand that I need time,” Kelly said.
“Fine, Kelly, have a nice life,” Matthew said. She heard him walk away and she heard the front door open and close. She got up and went to the window and saw him get into his car and drove off. She went downstairs and locked up and went upstairs and collapsed on the bed and felt tears running down her cheeks. She cried herself to sleep. She got up the next morning and showered and went to the bakery and went to the office and sat down and just stared at the desk. Tara and Sarah came in.
“Hey,” Tara said.
“Hey Kel,” Sarah said.
“Hey,” Kelly said.
“We heard about what happened,” Sarah said.
“I can't believe it,” Kelly said.
“How could she do that to your dad, how could she throw away her marriage like that,” Tara said.
“I don't know but I want nothing to do with her ever,” Kelly said.
“Ben told me before I left, he got a text from Matt,” Sarah said.

“Oh?” Kelly said.
“Ben said that Matt told him he was leaving town for good,” Sarah said.
“Oh,” Kelly said.
“Kel, he filed for an annulment,” Sarah said.
“Oh I see,” Kelly said.
“Kel?” Tara said.
“What?” Kelly said.
“You aren't going to stop him,” Sarah said.
“I know Matthew, once he makes a decision, there is no stopping him” Kelly said.
“So you are okay with him leaving,” Tara said.
“Leaving was his choice, he could not understand why I needed time,” Kelly said.
“And now you will have all the time in the world,” Sarah said.
“I'm better off alone, I'll be less likely to have a broken heart,” Kelly said.
“Hey ladies,” Melanie said.
“Hey Mel,” Tara said.
“Hey Mel,” Sarah said.
“Hey,” Kelly said.
“Matthew's gone, he left town just awhile ago, he said he was starting a new life and would let the family know where he settles,” Melanie said.
“So he really did it,” Kelly said.
“Yep,” Melanie said.
“Hello ladies,” Benjamin said.
“Hi baby,” Sarah said.
“These are for you, Kel,” Benjamin said. She took the papers and looked at them and saw they were annulment papers. The marriage was annulled. She was officially a single woman. She sat there thinking about everything and she laid the papers down.
“I guess this is it, I'm no longer a Jones, I'm just a Foster,” Kelly said.
“Kel,” Tara said.
“I guess I messed up,” Kelly said.
“You let a great guy go,” Sarah said.
“Matthew loved you so much, you broke him last night,” Melanie said.
“Oh god!” Kelly said. She broke down crying. Tara and Sarah hugged her.

Chapter 13

She went home after that and collapsed on the couch and stared at the ceiling. She laid there sobbing. She knew she made the biggest mistake of her life by letting Matthew go.
“Oh god what do I do now, why did I let him go,” Kelly said. She got something to eat and locked up the house and she went to her bedroom and laid in bed where she stayed for the next few days. Sarah and Tara kept the bakery going with Melanie's help. She decided to send a text to him.
“Matthew, Melanie and Ben said you left town, and you annulled the marriage, I don't understand why you couldn't just give me time after finding out that the last three years of my life was a lie, that I thought I was married to him but married to you instead, finding him with another woman and then finding out that my mom had been hooking up with him, that's a lot to process but I guess you just couldn't understand that, I hope you have a great life. Goodbye,” Kelly texted. She blocked his number and put it down and went to sleep. She got up the next morning and took a shower and got dressed and went over to Kate's house and spent time with her.
“Do you think I screwed up?” Kelly asked.
“I don't know, sis, a part of me says yes and the other part says no, he should have understood that you needed time, you found out that the last three years of your life was a lie, that you thought you were married to one brother but was actually married to his brother,” Kate said.
“I just need to move on with my life,” Kelly said.
“That's about all you can do I guess,” Kate said.
Three months later, Kelly moved on with her life. She just took things day by day. Melanie told her that Matthew was now living in Seattle and he has a girlfriend. She knew she made a mistake by letting him go. It is something she will regret for the rest of her life. They all tried to get her back into the dating world but she couldn't do it. She would rather stay single so she wouldn't get hurt anymore. She sat in the office doing paperwork. Sarah came in.
“Hey Kel, um Matthew is here with his girlfriend,” Sarah said.
“I'll just stay back here then,” Kelly said.
“Okay, just thought I would let you know so you won't have to face him,” Sarah said. She went back up front. Kelly sat there in the chair. She peeked out and saw Matthew with a young woman standing beside him. She sat back down and held her head in her hands. Her phone beeped and she saw a message from David asking her to meet him at his office quickly. She got her stuff together and went out and saw Matthew and his girlfriend sitting at a table. She walked out the door and got into her car and she looked up and saw Matthew watching her. She drove to David's office.

Chapter 14

Matthew sat there in the bakery with his girlfriend, Alyssa. He knew coming here would give him a chance to see Kelly. He knew he would never stop loving her but he couldn't wait anymore. He had to get on with his life. He moved to Seattle and met Alyssa and they began dating. Things were going really well but he knew he couldn't give her his heart because it belonged to Kelly. He watched her leave. He looked at his sister who was glaring at him.
“Matt, you okay?” Alyssa asked.
“Yeah I'm fine, why,” Matthew said.
“You seem distracted,” Alyssa said.
“It's just strange being back here knowing I don't live here anymore,” Matthew said.
“Who was that girl who left?” Alyssa asked.
“That's Kelly, the owner,” Matthew said.
“And you know her how?” Alyssa asked.
“She used to be involved with my brother, Mitch,” Matthew said.
“Oh so how come you were watching her?” Alyssa asked.
“I was just wondering why she didn't stop to say hello to me,” Matthew said.
“Maybe she had something to do,” Alyssa said.
“Hey,” Melanie said.
“Hey sis,” Matthew said.
“Hi I'm Melanie, his sister,” Melanie said.
“I'm Alyssa, nice to meet you,” Alyssa said.
“You too,” Melanie said.
“Mel, where was Kelly going?” Matthew asked.
“Why do you care?” Melanie asked.
“Mel?!” Matthew said.
“Meeting with David, he said it was important,” Melanie said.
“It's not about Mitch, is it,” Matthew said.
“She didn't say, I got a text from him saying he texted her to meet him about something important,” Melanie said.
“David is?” Alyssa asked.
“My boyfriend, he's a lawyer and Kelly has him on retainer,” Melanie said.
“What the hell?” Benjamin said.
“What the hell are you doing here,” Sarah said. They saw Mitch standing at the door of the bakery.
“Mitch?” Melanie asked.
“Hey sis,” Mitch said.
“What are you doing here, Mitch,” Matthew said.
“I was looking for Kelly,” Mitch said.
“She's not here, she left to go meet with David,” Matthew said.
“Is she dating him?” Mitch asked.
“He's her lawyer, dumbass,” Melanie said.
“David is Melanie's guy,” Matthew said.
“Who is this, bro?” Mitch asked.
“I'm Alyssa, you must be his brother, Mitch, who was in rehab,” Alyssa said.
“Yes I just got out,” Mitch said.
“You need to leave,” Matthew said.
“I need to see Kelly,” Mitch said.
“Bro, she won't want to see you,” Melanie said.
“Probably you sleeping with her mother had something to do with it,” Matthew said.
“You slept with your ex's mom?” Alyssa asked.
“I could tell you everything,” Melanie said.
“Melanie,” Mitch said.
“Mitch,” Harris said.
“Mitch,” Laura said.
“Mom, Dad,” Mitch said.
“You should go,” Harris said.
“Why,” Mitch said.
“Because you are not welcome here,” Harris said.
“You don't own the place, Dad,” Mitch said.
“But I do, Mitch, please leave,” Tara said. Kelly came in and saw all of them and went to the back.
“As you can see, she didn't stop to talk so she doesn't want to talk to you,” Melanie said. Mitch looked at them and nodded and went out the door. Tara and Sarah went to the back.
“Matthew?” Alyssa asked.
“Hmmm?” Matthew said.
“What's wrong?” Alyssa asked.
“I don't know,” Matthew said.
“Matthew?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly,” Matthew said.
“Hi there, I'm Alyssa, Matthew's girlfriend,” Alyssa said.
“Nice to meet you, Alyssa, I was wondering if I could speak to you for a moment, Matthew?” Kelly asked.
“Actually Alyssa and I need to get going, I've got something planned,” Matthew said. He got up with Alyssa and they headed out the door.

Chapter 15

Everyone stood there in shock at what just happened. Tara and Sarah went to Kelly as she sank into a chair.
“Kel,” Sarah said.
“What did David say?” Tara asked.
“That the annulment never went through, I'm still married to Matthew,” Kelly said.
“Let's get him back here,” Melanie said.
“Why bother, he couldn't wait to get away from me,” Kelly said.
“Kel,” Melanie said.
“No, Mel, he made his choice, he's got a girlfriend, he wouldn't talk to me, why should I even bother anymore, my heart is broken all over again and I fear this time it can't be put back together, it's shattered beyond repair,” Kelly said.
“Oh sweetie,” Tara said.
“It's his loss,” Sarah said. Kelly and the girls cleaned up and locked up the bakery and they all headed home. Kelly walked into her house and closed the door and locked up and leaned against it and just broke down crying. She went up to the bedroom and took a shower and got into bed and curled up and just cried softly.
“I guess you want me to be alone, huh god, I guess I don't deserve love, I deserve to be alone,” Kelly said. She cried herself to sleep. She spent the rest of the week in bed. She only got up for the bathroom and to eat before getting back into bed. She got a text from Melanie.
“Just letting you know that my asshole brother and Alyssa headed back to Seattle, no matter what, you will always be my sister, love you sis,” Melanie texted.
“Love you too sis,” Kelly texted. She put her phone down and curled up and cried softly. Her phone beeped. She looked and saw a message from Kate.
“Mother Dearest paid me a visit today, I told her to go to hell, she asked me where you were, I told her I didn't know, she might look for you at the bakery,” Kate texted.
“I haven't bee there for awhile,” Kelly texted.
“I heard what happened, how you holding up?” Kate texted.
“I'm heartbroken,” Kelly texted.
“Oh sis, want me to come over?” Kate texted.
“No, it's okay, you need to rest a lot,” Kelly texted.
“It seems that's all I've been doing,” Kate texted.
“Well you will need to rest while you can before the baby comes and keeps you awake,” Kelly texted.
“I guess you're right, love you sis,” Kate texted.
“Love you too sis,” Kelly texted. She put down her phone and curled up and went to sleep.
Three weeks later, she was in her office at the bakery working on bills and paperwork. She looked up and saw Melanie standing there at the door.
“Mel,” Kelly said.
“Hey I wanted to warn you that Matthew is coming back to town next week,” Melanie said.
“Oh okay,” Kelly said.
“He's moving back,” Melanie said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“He broke up with Alyssa and is moving back, Kel, I think he's coming back for you,” Melanie said.
“What makes you think that?” Kelly asked.
“He's moving back here alone, he still loves you,” Melanie said.
“Yet he will do the same as last time, walk away when I want to talk to him,” Kelly said.
“We will make him sit and listen,” Melanie said.
“I doubt it but I will try to get him to listen,” Kelly said. Melanie looked out and closed the door and locked it.
“Mel?” Kelly asked.
“Your mother,” Melanie said.
“Oh great, text Sarah and tell her to kick the bitch out,” Kelly said. Melanie sent the text and they waited there in the office.

Chapter 16

Kelly and Melanie waited in the office for Kelly's mother to leave. There was pounding on the door.
“Kelly! I know you're in there! Open up now!” Melissa yelled.
“Melissa, why do you want Kelly for, haven't you done enough to her!” Melanie said.
“I need to talk to my daughter now!” Melissa said. Kelly went and opened the door and glared at her mother.
“What do you want!” Kelly said.
“You and I need to talk young lady,” Melissa said.
“I have nothing to say to you, Mother,” Kelly said.
“You destroyed my life,” Melissa said.

“I hope so,” Kelly said. He hugged her and left. She sat there thinking about everything. Melanie came in pulling Matthew into the office.
“Mel,” Matthew said.
“Enough is enough, bro, you will sit down and talk to Kelly, you two need to talk, no more running, bro,” Melanie said.
“I wasn't planning on it,” Matthew said. Melanie nodded and left the room. Kelly looked at him.
“I'm glad you're back,” Kelly said.
“Me too, I never really liked Seattle,” Matthew said.
“I know you moved there to get away from me,” Kelly said.

“I am such a bad person,” Kelly said.

“Matthew, I never wanted you to leave, I should have stopped you, I was just trying to process everything that happened, three years of my life was a lie, I caught him cheating, finding out that I was married to you and not him, I was just trying to process it all, I never wanted you to go,” Kelly said. Matthew moved around the desk and knelt down in front of her.
“Kelly, are you in love with me?” Matthew asked.
“I think I always have been, I thought it was Mitch but it was you, you have my heart, you've always had it,” Kelly said.
“You have mine, I never gave it to anyone else, Alyssa and I never said I love yous to each other, she knew my heart belonged to someone else, she didn't know who, she understood the situation,” Matthew said.
“Matt, we are still married, the annulment never went through, I tried to tell you that night but you left,” Kelly said.
“Oh god Kelly, I should have stayed and talked to you,” Matthew said.
“I want to be with you,” Kelly said.
“I want that more than anything,” Matthew said. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly.

Chapter 17

Kelly pulled back and looked at him. He rested his forehead against hers.
“You moving in with me or am I moving in with you?” Matthew asked.
“I'll rent my house out, I'm going with you,” Kelly said.
“Let's go,” Matthew said. They walked out and Melanie, Tara, and Sarah hugged them. They walked out the door and went to her house and packed up her clothes and went to his house.
“Wow,” Kelly said.
“You like it?” Matthew asked.
“Yes I do,” Kelly said.
“It's our home now,” Matthew said. They walked into the house and put her bags in the bedroom.
“It's good,” Kelly said.
“We can change it,” Matthew said.
“No it's fine,” Kelly said. Matthew hugged her from behind.
“I feel like this is a dream,” Matthew said.
“Yeah I know,” Kelly said.
“I'm sorry,” Matthew said.

“Leaving,” Matthew said.

“Well she's got the best excuse, she's carrying precious cargo,” Tara said.
“Tara, you and Sarah will need to cover the bakery in two weeks,” Kelly said.
“Where you going?” Kate asked.
“Long overdue honeymoon,” Kelly said.
“Okay sis,” Kate said.
“We will let Melanie know,” Tara said. The door opened and they looked and saw Melissa there.
“Oh great,” Kelly said.
“Not what we need right now,” Kate said.
“What are you doing here, Mother,” Paul said.
“I came here to see Kelly,” Melissa said.
“I'm sorry but I don't want to see you, get out,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, I am sorry for what I did, for everything,” Melissa said.
“Yeah right, you said I destroyed your life, you said I was not your daughter, you said I was nothing to you, you think an apology is going to be enough, no it isn't, there is no going back,” Kelly said.
“Kel,” Kate said.
“Kate,” Kelly said.
“Kate, you can't be taking her side, she destroyed her marriage to Dad, she fucked Kelly's ex, she slapped Kelly, said she was nothing to her, told her she should have given her up for adoption, you think she deserves forgiveness?” Paul asked.
“I wasn't going to say that,” Kate said.
“What were you going to say,” Kelly said.
“It's time to kick our dear mother out of here,” Kate said. Kelly moved around the counter and went to grab their mother but she grabbed her and threw her into the donut case shattering the glass.
“Oh god!” Kate said.
“Fucking bitch can go to hell!” Melissa said.
“You go first Mother!” Paul said. He and Ryan grabbed her and held her down as Tara called 911. Kate called Matthew. The police and ambulance came. Matthew ran in and saw Kelly unconscious and bleeding all over her face and arms. He saw Melissa in handcuffs.
“You fucking bitch!” Matthew said.
“Go to Kelly, Matt,” Paul said.
“Sir, are you her husband?” the paramedic asked.
“Yes I am, is she going to be all right?” Matthew asked.
“We won't know until we get to the hospital, we should get her there,” the paramedic said. The cops took Melissa out the door and put her in the car and left. They got Kelly loaded into the ambulance. Matthew got in with her and they headed to the hospital.

Chapter 19

Mathew sat in the waiting room. Paul, Tara, Sarah, Kate, and Ryan came in after closing up the bakery. Peter came in. Melanie, David, Benjamin, and his parents came in.
“Matt,” Laura said.
“Hey Mom,” Matthew said.
“Mitch is coming,” Laura said.
“Why,” Matthew said.
“Honey, he's your brother and he's family, you need us all,” Laura said.
“Matt,” Mitch said.
“What,” Matthew said.
“I'm here for you, bro, I'm glad you are her husband, you two belong together,” Mitch said.

“I can't believe her mother did this to her,” Mitch said.
“She's not her mother,” Matthew said.
“I could kill her for what she did,” Mitch said.
“I think you will have to get in line, bro,” Matthew said.
“I can make it happen,” Harris said.
“Dad,” Mitch said.
“Dad,” Matthew said.
“I've got connections in the jail and the prison,” Harris said.
“Dad why,” Matthew said.
“Kelly is my daughter now, Melissa deserves what she gets,” Harris said.
“Do it, Dad, give that bitch what she deserves, for my sister,” Mitch said.
“For our sister,” Melanie said.
“Harris, you have my permission,” Paul said.

“I'll go make some phone calls,” Harris said. He went to make the phone calls. Matthew looked at Mitch.
“Kelly and I were never meant to be, she was always yours,” Mitch said. Matthew hugged him. Melanie and Benjamin joined the hug.
“Family of Kelly Jones?” a doctor asked.
“That's us,” Paul said.
“I'm her father,” Peter said.
“I'm her husband,” Matthew said.

“Brother,” Paul said.
“Brother-in-law,” Mitch said.
“Sister-in-law,” Melanie said.
“Best friend,” Tara said.
“Best friend,” Sarah said.
“Brother-in-law,” Benjamin said.
“Mother-in-law,” Laura said.
“Brother-in-law,” Ryan said.
“Friend and lawyer,” David said.
“Grandmother,” Martha said.
“How is my wife, doc?” Matthew asked.
“We removed all the shards of glass she has embedded in her skin, I'm afraid some got into her eyes so we won't know the extent of that until she wakes up, she might have scars on her face and arms, we will see how it all looks once she's completely healed,” the doctor said.
“So when will she wake up?” Peter asked.
“We don't know right now,” the doctor said.
“Doctor, she's awake,” a nurse said.
“I'll be right back,” the doctor said. He went to Kelly's room. Matthew stood there waiting. Melanie hugged him. The doctor came back to them.
“She's asking for Matthew,” the doctor said.
“That's me,” Matthew said. He went to her room and walked in and saw her all wrapped up in gauze. Her eyes were covered.
“Kelly baby?” Matthew said.
“Matthew? Matt?! Oh Matt I can't see you,” Kelly said. Matthew went to her side and took her hand in his.
“I'm right here,” Matthew said.
“Where is that bitch?” Kelly asked.
“In custody,” Matthew said.
“Matt, I want her gone forever,” Kelly said.
“She will get what she deserves baby,” Matthew said.
“I can't believe this happened to me, please don't leave me!” Kelly said.
“Oh baby I'm not going anywhere, you are stuck with me forever, you will never get rid of me,” Matthew said.
“I just hope I won't be too ugly for you,” Kelly said.
“What, baby, you're kidding right, I would never think that, you will always be beautiful to me, you are beautiful inside and out, you really know how to wear the gauze,” Matthew said.

“I'm going to get some sleep,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby, I'll be right here with you,” Matthew said. He sat down in a chair beside her and held her hand as she went to sleep.

Chapter 20

Kelly woke up and only saw darkness.
“Matthew? Matt? Are you here?” Kelly asked.
“No he's not, he went to get something to eat and shower and changed, I stayed in case you woke up,” Mitch said.
“Mitch?” Kelly asked.
“Hey sis,” Mitch said.
“Sis?” Kelly asked.
“That's what you are to me now since you and my brother are married,” Mitch said.
“Mitch,” Kelly said.
“I'm happy for you both, you two are meant for each other, you two should have been together all along, I was an idiot,” Mitch said.
“What do you mean?” Kelly asked.
“I knew about his feelings for you, when you guys met, I could tell he fell for you, you and I weren't that serious yet, I could have stepped aside but I didn't want to lose you, I was selfish,” Mitch said.
“Mitch, I wasn't sure of my feelings for Matt until he moved to Seattle, I don't think I felt anything more than friendship for him at the time I first met him, I think I realized my feelings when I thought I was losing him for good,” Kelly said.
“I'm glad things worked out for the best, I started dating again,” Mitch said.
“Really? Who is the lucky lady?” Kelly asked.
“Her name is Lindsay, she was in rehab with me, she got out the same time I did and she was in for the same thing I was, she got hooked on painkillers after a car accident,” Mitch said.
“I would like to meet her,” Kelly said.
“When you are home from the hospital, I'll bring you by, she doesn't like hospitals much, she was in here for two months after her accident,” Mitch said.
“Okay I just hope I don't freak her out looking like this,” Kelly said.
“You look great, Kel,” Mitch said.
“You're just being nice,” Kelly said.
“I am being sincere, sis, don't ever think you are hideous, beauty is on the inside more than the outside,” Mitch said.
“Okay thank you for being here with me,” Kelly said.

“Hey baby,” Matthew said. He came over and kissed her hand. He sat on the bed.
“You guys work things out?” Matthew asked.

“You should bring her by,” Matthew said.
“He said she hates hospitals,” Kelly said.
“Yeah she spent two months after her car accident,” Mitch said.

“Rehab, she was there for the same reason as me, we got out the same time, we hit it off very well,” Mitch said.

“Thanks bro, I better get going, I've got a date to prepare,” Mitch said.

“How's my favorite patient,” the doctor said.
“I want to go home,” Kelly said.
“Well we will see about tomorrow, we want to make sure there is no infection with your cuts,” the doctor said.
“What about my eyes?” Kelly asked.
“That may take awhile,” the doctor said.
“I hate this,” Kelly said.
“I know you do, Mrs. Jones, but we want you to heal well so we know what to do next,” the doctor said.
“Thanks doc,” Kelly said.
“Thank you doc,” Matthew said. She felt them checking her and changing her bandages. They asked Matthew to watch so he could do it once she was home. She heard the door close.
“Baby get some rest okay,” Matthew said.
“All right,” Kelly said.
“I love you,” Matthew said.
“I love you,” Kelly said. She went to sleep with Matthew holding her hand.

Chapter 21

Matthew sat there watching her sleep. He had watched them change her bandages and he felt like crying as he saw all the wounds on her body and face. He sent a message to his father asking for an update on their plan.
“I talked with your brothers and Paul, we wanted to wait and let Kelly get her revenge but we didn't know how soon she would recover or regain her eyesight so Kate stepped in,” Harris texted.
“Dad, she's pregnant, she should have been resting,” Matthew texted.
“Ryan said that she was doing so well and it would be good exercise,” Harris texted.
“What did Kate do exactly?” Matthew texted.
“Kate threw her out the window, we were on the ground floor, your brothers were waiting until Kate could come outside,” Harris texted.
“She hit the glass just right so they were pretty bad, we let Kate beat her with a stick before taking her to the infirmary center there,” Harris texted.
“So she lives?” Matthew texted.
“That was the condition of being able to do all this, to keep her alive,” Harris texted.
“Dad, she deserves to die,” Matthew texted.
“I know son, but she's feeling what Kelly is feeling right now, minus the blindness, we want her to see what she has done to her daughter,” Harris texted.
“Remind me never to piss off my sister-in-law,” Matthew texted.
“Yes I will, anyways so she's now going through what Kelly is going through, Paul asked her how she feels,” Harris texted.
“What did she say?” Matthew texted.
“She asked them what she did to deserve this which caused them to go off on her and gave the list of things she did, they told her that she was now going through what Kelly was going through, Melissa broke down crying after that and she realized all she did and now regrets it all,” Harris texted.
“It is too late for redemption,” Matthew texted.
“Yes it is,” Harris texted.
“Thanks Dad,” Matthew texted.
“How is my daughter?” Harris texted.
“She's asleep, they had me watch them change her bandages so I could do them once she's home, Dad, I almost broke down at the sight of her wounds, I can't believe this happened to her,” Matthew texted.
“Son, if you can't handle changing her bandages, we can hire a nurse to do that,” Harris texted.
“I might do that, I hate that this happened to her,” Matthew texted.
“All we can do is be there for her and for you,” Harris texted.
“Thanks Dad, love you and tell Mom the same and give her a kiss for me,” Matthew texted.
“Love you son, and your mom will be coming soon so you can give her one yourself,” Harris texted. Matthew put his phone down and looked at his wife in bed.

Chapter 22

Three days later, Kelly was home in bed resting. Matthew adjusted things so he could work from home to be with her. He hired a nurse when he had to go somewhere. Her name was Pauline.
“I should be back in an hour, Pauline, hopefully she will sleep while I'm gone,” Matthew said.
“Okay Mr. Jones, everything will be fine,” Pauline said.
“Pauline, you are taking care of my wife, call me Matthew,” Matthew said.
“Okay Matthew,” Pauline said. He left and went to the office and talked with his COO about things and went over some files with him.

“I thought she was married to your brother?” Alyssa asked.
“We thought so too but my parents had connections and set it up for me and her to be married instead, thought I was the better choice for a husband than my brother, they turned out to be right,” Matthew said.
“I know that part, how is married life?” Alyssa asked.
“It's good,” Matthew said.
“I should stop by the bakery,” Alyssa said.
“Why,” Matthew said.
“To have a chat with her,” Alyssa said.
“Why Alyssa,” Matthew said.
“Because I'm pregnant, Matthew, it's yours,” Alyssa said.
“How is that possible when you and I never slept together,” Matthew said.

“How were you when you woke up the next morning?” Alyssa asked.

“No she won't, okay, her mother threw her into the donut case at the bakery, my wife had shards of glass everywhere in her body and in her eyes, she can't see right now, if you think I'm going to leave her now while she is in this condition, you are crazy, I will want a paternity test, Alyssa, because who knows if it's even mine and you are here to trap me, I will not let that happen, my family has connections, go see Melissa Foster at the prison, see what my family connections get done,” Matthew said.
“Matthew,” Alyssa said.
“GET OUT!” Matthew yelled. Alyssa went out the door. Matthew made some calls and left the office and went to speak to his dad and brothers. He went home and sat on the bed with Kelly.

Chapter 23
Matthew sat there watching his wife. She started moving.
“Kelly, baby?” Matthew asked.
“Matt?” Kelly said.
“I'm here baby,” Matthew said.
“I must have been tired,” Kelly said.
“Yeah I went to the office and back,” Matthew said.
“I didn't know you were gone, I must have been knocked out,” Kelly said.

“Not really,” Matthew said.

“Baby, Alyssa's back in town, she came to see me,” Matthew said.

“Yeah but I don't want her,” Matthew said. He told her everything that happened at the office.

“Yeah, I told him to handle it because my place is here with you, my wife,” Matthew said.
“What would you have done if I was not like this,” Kelly said.
“The same baby, I would have let my dad deal with it and I would have taken you on a trip away from here where it was just the two of us,” Matthew said.
“Matt, I can't lose you,” Kelly said.
“You are not going to, I can't live without you,” Matthew said. His phone beeped and he looked at it and smiled.
“Mitch is here with Lindsay, you up for meeting her?” Matthew asked.
“Yeah, I can't see her but I can hear and talk to her,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby let's get you settled on the couch,” Matthew said. He helped her change clothes and carried her down the stairs and got her settled on the couch. Mitch came in with his girlfriend.
“Hey bro,” Matthew said.
“Hey bro, this is Lindsay, baby, this is my brother, Matthew,” Mitch said.
“Nice to meet you Matthew,” Lindsay said.
“You as well, this is my wife, Kelly,” Matthew said.
“Hi, I don't usually look like this,” Kelly said.
“I know, Mitch told me everything and I'm sorry for what you went through, I met your sister Kate at the bakery,” Lindsay said.
“Okay so if you saw her face then you know that's what I looked like,” Kelly said.
“You will look like her once you are healed,” Lindsay said.
“I am not sure about that, the doctor told me I might have scarring,” Kelly said.
“Well you are lucky to have met me then,” Lindsay said.
“What?” Kelly said.
“I'm a plastic surgeon, Kelly, I know what you all are thinking, a doctor who got hooked on pain meds, I should have known better, but I know now that I'm stronger than that as I've got my life back now,” Lindsay said.
“So I could look normal again?” Kelly asked.
“I will do my best so we will see how things look once you are completely healed up,” Lindsay said.
“I don't know what to say but thank you,” Kelly said.
“You're welcome,” Lindsay said. They all sat there talking. Matthew's phone beeped and he looked at it.
“Bro?” Mitch asked.
“It's Dad,” Matthew said.
“What's going on,” Mitch said. Matthew told him what happened at his office and what their dad said.
“So she is lying about everything because she wants you for herself,” Mitch said.
“Yes, she's pregnant but it's not mine, she confessed that she slept with her ex the night after we split up,” Matthew said.
“So it's his?” Mitch asked.
“Yes, Dad put her on a plane back to Seattle, he told her if she came or caused any trouble for our family, she would regret it, he even showed her a picture of Melissa showing her what happens if you cross us,” Matthew said.
“So she's gone,” Mitch said.
“Yep,” Matthew said.
“Good riddance,” Mitch said.
“Yeah really,” Matthew said.
“Matt?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah baby,” Matthew said.
“Is it time to change my bandages?” Kelly asked.
“Yes baby it is,” Matthew said.
“May I, Matthew, so that I can see what the wounds look like and see if they will leave scars,” Lindsay said.
“Yeah but I want to be with her,” Matthew said. Lindsay nodded. Matthew picked up Kelly and carried her upstairs to the bathroom and sat her down on the counter.

Chapter 24

Matthew got all the stuff out and helped her remove her shirt and removed the old bandages. Lindsay saw all the wounds. Mitch stood at the door.
“How bad are they?” Kelly asked.
“Let me look here,” Lindsay said.
“Bro, I could kill her mother for this,” Mitch whispered.
“I wanted to but Dad said that there was only so much we could do to her, remember,” Matthew whispered.
“Guys,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“Sis,” Mitch said.
“What are you guys saying?” Kelly asked.
“Nothing,” Mitch said.
“It's nothing baby,” Matthew said.
“Boys talk,” Kelly said.
“All I said was that I could kill your mother for this,” Mitch said.
“And I said we couldn't because there was only so much they would allow us to do with Dad's connections,” Matthew said.
“I want her gone,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“Sis,” Mitch said.
“No look at me, look what she did to me, I can't see it but I'm sure it's hideous, I must look like a monster but she did this to me, she destroyed me, I can't go out in public like this, she got what she wanted, she wants me dead,” Kelly said.
“Matt bro,” Mitch said.
“Go talk to Dad,” Matthew said. Lindsay finished the bandages and looked at Matthew.
“I believe they are fixable, most won't leave scars and I can fix the ones that will,” Lindsay said.
“Which ones will leave scars?” Kelly asked.
“One on your cheek and some on your arms,” Lindsay said.
“If the ones on the arms won't be bad then just fix the one on my face,” Kelly said.
“Okay then, you are all done,” Lindsay said.
“Thanks Lindsay,” Kelly said.
“You're welcome and once you are healed and all that, maybe we can all do some double dates,” Lindsay said.
“I will like that,” Kelly said.
“But for now, how about we start in the house, I'll order us some Chinese,” Lindsay said.
“That's a good idea, Lindsay, let's go,” Mitch said. They left after Matthew told them what he and Kelly would want. Matthew got her settled on the couch.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Baby?” Matthew asked.
“I like her,” Kelly said.
“She's a good match for him,” Matthew said.
“Yeah I'm happy for him,” Kelly said.
“Me too baby,” Matthew said. He sat down and kissed her softly.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“I miss you,” Kelly said.
“I'm right here baby,” Matthew said.
“I know but I meant I miss you making love to me,” Kelly said.
“I miss it too but we have to wait until you have the all clear,” Matthew said.
“Can we ask when we go to the doctor for a checkup,” Kelly said.
“Yeah baby we will,” Matthew said. Mitch and Lindsay came back with the food and they sat down and ate. Matthew helped Kelly eat.

Chapter 25

The next morning, Kelly woke up and sat up. She felt arms around her.
“Morning my love,” Matthew said.
“Morning, I need to go to the bathroom,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby,” Matthew said. He helped her up and into the bathroom and he helped her and she washed her hands and went back to the bed and sat down.
“When is my appointment?” Kelly asked.
“Tomorrow at ten,” Matthew said.
“Okay,” Kelly said. He helped her change and they went downstairs and he got her breakfast. He cleaned up and got her settled on the couch. The doorbell rang. He opened it and saw Peter and Paul.
“Peter, Paul, come in,” Matthew said.
“Hey bro, how's my sis,” Paul said.
“She's sitting on the couch,” Matthew said. They came in and walked into the living room.
“Hey baby girl,” Peter said.
“Dad!” Kelly said. He sat down and gently hugged her.
“I'm here too, sis,” Paul said.
“Hey bro,” Kelly said.
“How are you holding up?” Peter asked.
“I'm doing okay, Mitch and his girlfriend were here yesterday, she's a plastic surgeon and she helped change my bandages and she figured out which cuts would scar and she said she could fix them,” Kelly said.
“That's great news,” Peter said.
“I guess you and Mitch are okay now,” Paul said.
“What do you mean, bro?” Kelly asked.
“You guys are talking and all that,” Paul said.
“It's in the past, bro, he is more of a brother now,” Kelly said.
“He calls her sis now,” Matthew said.
“Paul, son, I talked with him, he is happy for her and Matt, he told me the truth,” Peter said.
“What's that,” Paul said.
“He knew about my feelings for Kelly, he and Kelly weren't that serious and he could have stepped aside but he was selfish,” Matthew said.
“Oh I see,” Paul said.
“It has all worked out for the best, son,” Peter said.
“Yeah it has,” Paul said.
“How is Kate?” Kelly asked.
“She's doing well, she's doing the desk work at the bakery while Melanie covers the front while Tara and Sarah do the baking,” Peter said.
“I hope the guys aren't mad about them working a lot,” Kelly said.
“I understand sis, I sometimes help out as well to give Sarah a day off,” Paul said.
“Ben helps to give Tara a day off,” Peter said.
“David helps out too,” Paul said. Kelly starts crying.
“Kelly, baby?” Matthew asked.
“Baby girl?” Peter asked.
“Sis?” Paul asked.
“Why did this happen to me? Why?” Kelly asked.
“Your mother was not well, they moved her to the mental hospital, they have her confined to her room there,” Peter said.
“You guys really did a number on her,” Paul said.
“You mean my dad and brothers and Kate,” Matthew said.
“You weren't there?” Paul asked.
“No I was with Kelly at the hospital,” Matthew said.
“When do you go see the doctor?” Peter asked.
“Tomorrow at ten,” Matthew said.
“I hope I get my eyesight back,” Kelly said.
“We all do, baby, but no matter what, I'm not going anywhere,” Matthew said.
“I hope not,” Kelly said.
“You are stuck with me forever, baby,” Matthew said.
“We should get going, I'm going to go visit her,” Peter said.
“Why Dad?” Kelly asked.
“Dad decided to cancel the divorce so he can can make decisions for her if needed,” Paul said.
“Paul, stay with your sister, I'll go with you Peter,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“I'm going, baby, I need to confront her over what she did to you,” Matthew said. He kissed her and went out the door with Peter. Paul hugged his sister.

Chapter 26

Matthew and Peter walked into the hospital and spoke with a nurse who led them to Melissa's room. They went in and saw her sitting by the window on the bench there. She looked at them.
“Peter, Matthew?” Melissa asked.
“Melissa,” Peter said.
“Melissa,” Matthew said.
“What do I owe this visit?” Melissa asked.
“I would like some answers,” Matthew said.
“I can guess to what, you want to know why I did what I did to Kelly,” Melissa said.
“Yes, are you aware of her condition right now,” Matthew said.
“No, how is she?” Melissa asked.
“She can't see, Melissa, she got glass in her eyes and we won't know if she will regain her eyesight until she's all healed, does that make you happy, that you possibly caused her to be blind and will have scars on her body and face so she won't look the same as before,” Matthew said.
“No it doesn't,” Melissa said.
“How do you feel really,” Peter said.
“After being in jail and being in here, it's gave me a lot of time to think about everything that I did, Matthew, Peter, you both won't believe me but I regret what I did, I can't believe I did that to her, my daughter, I can't believe I did that,” Melissa said.
“Melissa, here is a picture of her at the hospital,” Peter said. He showed her a picture of Kelly in the hospital.
“Here is her today,” Matthew said.
“Oh god, I can't believe I did that to her!” Melissa said. She broke down crying.
“Melissa, why did you sleep with Mitch, why did you cheat on me with him?” Peter asked.
“I don't know, I was stupid and I made a huge mistake,” Melissa said.
“How many times did you two fuck?” Peter asked.
“Three times total, twice before he started dating Kelly and that one time at the rehab center,” Melissa said.
“Did I not give you everything you've ever wanted?” Peter asked.
“Oh god Peter, you did, I just thought....” Melissa said.
“You thought what?” Peter asked.
“That you had an affair, I found lipstick on your shirt when I was washing one day,” Melissa said.
“I never ever would do that to you, I never would intentionally cheat, a client came onto me at the office and tried to kiss me but got my shirt collar before I pushed her away from me,” Peter said.
“Why my brother, why push him onto your daughter, why would you want her to stay with him after she caught him fucking his assistant in his office,” Matthew said.
“I met him and felt this connection with him, as for wanting him and Kelly to stay together, it was to keep me from him,” Melissa said.
“Oh god,” Peter said.
“I'll sign whatever papers you want me to,” Melissa said.
“Melissa,” Peter said.
“I know I messed up big time, I destroyed our marriage and I blamed our daughter for it,” Melissa said.
“So that's why you threw her into the donut case, because you blamed her for your life being destroyed when it was you who did it to begin with, you most definitely belong in here indefinitely,” Matthew said.
“The blame is on you, Melissa, she didn't tell you to sleep with Mitch those three times, she didn't tell me about it, Paul did some investigating, he told me everything, he told his sisters after he told me, but you are the one who destroyed your life and our marriage, you alone, Kelly was innocent, she's the one who was hurt most in all this,” Peter said.
“I realized that after I got here and talked to the therapist, she helped me realize that everything was my fault, my fault alone,” Melissa said. The door to the room opened and in came Paul with Kelly. Melissa covered her mouth and cried softly.

Chapter 27

Melissa sat there looking at Kelly as Paul helped her sit down. Matthew went to her and stood behind her.
“I'm here baby,” Matthew said.
“Me too honey,” Peter said.
“Mother?” Kelly asked.
“I'm here,” Melissa said.
“Surprised to see me?” Kelly asked.
“Yes,” Melissa said.
“What do you think of your handywork?” Kelly asked.
“Oh Kelly, I deeply regret what I did, you did not deserve it, I would give anything to go back to that day and not do what I did to you,” Melissa said.
“Why did you?” Kelly asked.
“I blamed you for ruining my life when it was me who ruined my own life, I regret everything, I know saying I'm sorry won't be enough but it's all I can say at this point,” Melissa said.
“I can't forgive you for this,” Kelly said.
“I don't forgive myself,” Melissa said.
“There is a possibility that I won't regain my eyesight, I might be able to get rid of the scars but as for my eyes, I might not regain it,” Kelly said.
“Oh god Kelly!” Melissa said. She broke down crying. Kelly sat there listening.
“You will still be my mom but things won't be like they were before,” Kelly said.
“I know they won't be,” Melissa said.
“Mom,” Paul said.
“Paul,” Melissa said.
“You going to behave in here?” Paul asked.
“Yes I am,” Melissa said.
“That's why I haven't filed for a divorce yet,” Peter said.
“Just get better and we will see where things stand, it's too hard for me to forgive you,” Kelly said.
“I'm working on it, I am being sincere about everything, I'm not saying what you all would want to hear, I am being completely honest with you all, I would give anything to go back in time back to before I messed up,” Melissa said.
“I'm going to need to speak to you alone, Melissa,” Peter said.
“We will be waiting outside,” Paul said. Matthew helped Kelly up and out the door with Paul behind them. They found the waiting room and sat down.
“What could he need to speak to her alone about,” Kelly said.
“What if he tells her that he doesn't want a divorce,” Paul said.
“I know why she slept with my brother,” Matthew said.
“Matt?” Kelly asked.
“She thought he cheated on her, she said she found lipstick on his collar of his shirt,” Matthew said.
“Dad cheated?” Paul asked.
“No, he told her that a client came onto him and tried to kiss him but got his collar instead when he was pushing her away,” Matthew said.
“How long have you known about this?” Kelly asked.
“Just before you guys got here today, he asked her why she slept with my brother,” Matthew said.
“I can't believe this,” Kelly said.
“What, that your mother made an assumption that led her to destroy her marriage to your father and put the blame on you,” Matthew said.
“How did she think that Kelly destroyed her life,” Paul said.
“Because she didn't stay together with Mitch, your mother wanted them to stay together so she would have a reason to stay away from him and not ruin her marriage to your father,” Matthew said.
“She wanted me to stay with a cheater, a man who wasn't even my husband to begin with, now I know I can never forgive her,” Kelly said.
“I'm sorry baby,” Matthew said.
“I need to get out of here, Matt, let's go home,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby, Paul, you should stay so you can take your father home,” Matthew said.
“I will,” Paul said. Matthew helped Kelly out to his car and took her home and got her settled into bed. He sat beside her and held her as she fell asleep.

Chapter 28

The next day, Matthew helped Kelly into the doctor's office and got her settled into a chair.
“I hope we get good news today,” Kelly said.
“Me too baby,” Matthew said.
“I want to see again, I want to see my handsome sexy husband,” Kelly said.
“I love you my wife,” Matthew said.
“I love you more,” Kelly said.
“Matthew, Kelly, how are you both today,” the doctor said.
“I'm okay,” Kelly said.
“Doing well,” Matthew said.
“Let's see how your wounds look,” the doctor said. He removed all the bandages and examined them. He removed the ones on her eyes and looked into her eyes.
“Doc,” Kelly said.
“Yes Kelly,” the doctor said.
“I see light,” Kelly said.
“Kel?” Matthew asked.
“Is he shining a light in my eyes?” Kelly asked.
“Yes baby he is,” Matthew said.
“You see this light,” the doctor said.
“It's brighter that what I have been seeing,” Kelly said. He moved the light away from her eyes.
“And now?” the doctor asked.
“Now as bright but not as dark as it has been,” Kelly said.
“This is a good sign,” the doctor said.
“So I could get my sight back?” Kelly said.
“It is looking that way,” the doctor said.
“How about my other cuts?” Kelly asked.
“They are healing very nicely, I have been in touch with Dr. Lindsay Craven, she said she's your brother's girlfriend,” the doctor said.
“Yes,” Matthew said.
“She said she could see which cuts would scar and I agree with her and she said she would fix them,” the doctor said.
“Yes so I could look as I did before,” Kelly said.
“Yes,” the doctor said.
“Doc, what about sex?” Kelly asked.
“Kel,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“You are healed enough for that,” the doctor said.
“Thank you doc,” Kelly said.
“Thank you doc,” Matthew said.
“I'll see you back here in a couple months, if anything changes, come in sooner,” the doctor said.
“Okay doc,” Matthew said. He helped her up and dress and they left and went home. He helped her get settled on the couch.
“I'll get you some lunch, baby,” Matthew said.
“Okay my husband,” Kelly said. He went into the kitchen and fixed her some lunch. He came back and sat down.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“I made you a sandwich baby,” Matthew said.
“Okay, will you help me?” Kelly asked.
“Don't I always, baby, you don't have to ask, I would gladly feed you,” Matthew said.
“I love you,” Kelly said.
“I love you more,” Matthew said. He helped her with the sandwich. He took the trash to the kitchen and cleaned up and came back and sat beside her. She snuggled up against him.
“I can't imagine my life without you,” Kelly said.
“I can't imagine my life without you either,” Matthew said.
“Matt, what if I never regain my eyesight, what if it's this way forever,” Kelly said.
“Baby, don't think like that,” Matthew said.
“I have to be prepared for the possibility,” Kelly said.
“We will take it one day at a time, but know that I am not going anywhere, I'll always be here with you,” Matthew said.
“What about your job?” Kelly asked.
“I'm the boss, I can work from anywhere and I have an awesome VP who is in charge at the office,” Matthew said.
“What about kids, Matt,” Kelly said.
“You still want kids, right?” Matthew asked.
“Yeah but if I can't see then how will I be a mother,” Kelly said.
“You will be a great mother,” Matthew said.
“A mom who can't see her children,” Kelly said.
“Baby, let's not think about that right now,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Yes baby,” Matthew said.
“I need you,” Kelly said.
“I'm right here baby,” Matthew said.
“I need you to take me upstairs and make love to me,” Kelly said. He got up and locked up the house and carried her upstairs to the bedroom and set her on the bed and removed his clothes and hers. He helped her lay on the bed and he climbed over her and kissed her deeply.
“Matt, I want us to start trying for a baby,” Kelly said.
“Oh baby,” Matthew said. He kissed her softly and he gently made love to her off and on throughout the afternoon and evening. They fell asleep in each other's arms.

Chapter 29

Kelly woke up the next morning and felt the bed and didn't feel Matthew in bed with her. She sat up.
“Matt! Matthew!” Kelly said.
“Kelly, it's Pauline, I'm here with you for now,” Pauline said.
“Oh so where did he go?” Kelly asked.
“He had an emergency at the office, his VP came down with the flu so Matthew had to go into the office,” Pauline said.
“Oh I need help to the bathroom,” Kelly said.
“Okay honey,” Pauline said.
“I might need some clothes,” Kelly said.
“Matthew got you dressed before he left,” Pauline said.
“Oh okay,” Kelly said. Pauline helped her up and into the bathroom and helped her get on the toilet. She left the room so Kelly could go in peace. Kelly finished and wiped and pulled up her pants and flushed and found her way to the sink and washed her hands. Pauline came back in.
“All done?” Pauline asked.
“Yeah, I am praying my eyesight comes back,” Kelly said.
“Matthew said there was an improvement,” Pauline said.
“Yeah, it's not as dark as it had been,” Kelly said.
“I got some breakfast downstairs waiting for you, a breakfast sandwich,” Pauline said.
“Something easy for me to eat myself, that's good,” Kelly said.
“Matthew said that you liked him feeding you,” Pauline said.
“I guess I got spoiled a little,” Kelly said.
“That's what husbands do,” Pauline said. Pauline helped her downstairs to the kitchen and sat her at the counter. She put the plate in front of her. Kelly felt for it and found it and ate.
“It's so simple to eat like this, I don't have to worry about poking myself with a fork,” Kelly said.
“He only wants you doing that when he's home and can do it himself,” Pauline said.
“I love him so,” Kelly said.
“And he loves you too,” Pauline said. The doorbell rang. Pauline went and opened the door and saw David and Melanie standing there.
“Pauline?” Melanie asked.
“Yes,” Pauline said.
“I'm Melanie, Matthew's sister and this is David, my boyfriend and Kelly's lawyer,” Melanie said.
“Come on in, Kelly's eating breakfast in the kitchen,” Pauline said. They came in and went into the kitchen.
“Hey sis,” Melanie said.
“Hey sweetie,” David said.
“Hey guys, what brings you by?” Kelly asked.
“Just wanted to visit with you since we hadn't had the chance with both of us being so busy,” Melanie said.
“Sorry about that,” Kelly said.
“Not your fault, sis,” Melanie said.
“Tara told us you went to visit your mother,” David said.
“Yeah I think I got closure,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, I probably should tell you that your father canceled the divorce, he's not going to divorce her,” David said.
“Oh,” Kelly said.
“Paul said they talked and he forgave her,” David said.
“Your dad said that 35 years is too long to be thrown away,” Melanie said.
“So what happens now,” Kelly said.
“Your mom isn't getting out any time soon, they want her to remain there for her whole prison sentence which is five years,” Melanie said.
“Oh,” Kelly said.
“Matt told us your progress,” David said.
“I'm hoping you get your eyesight back, some of the customers miss you,” Melanie said.
“I miss them too, I'm praying as well,” Kelly said.
“David, let's hang out here today,” Melanie said..
“I knew you would want to, I brought some work with me,” David said.
“Who has the bakery going right now?” Kelly asked.
“Tara and Sarah,” Melanie said.
“They put Kate strictly on desk duty so she's been doing the paperwork and bills and all that,” David said.
“Ryan comes with her and supervises her so she doesn't overdo it,” Melanie said.
“He's so excited to become a father,” Kelly said.
“I've never seen anyone more excited,” Melanie said.
“I miss everyone,” Kelly said.
“Who hasn't come to visit you yet?” Melanie asked.
“Tara, Sara, Ben, Kate, Ryan, your parents,” Kelly said.
“Okay I'll take care of that,” Melanie said. She made some phone calls. David cleaned up for her and helped her into the living room and got her settled on the couch and they sat down with her.

Chapter 30

Matthew sat in his office finishing up some work before he headed home. He looked up and saw his parents standing there.
“Mom? Dad?” Matthew asked.
“Hey son,” Harris said.
“How's Kelly?” Laura asked.
“Well you guys would know if you came to visit her,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry son,” Harris said.
“We got a call from your sister about that, we should have visited her sooner,” Laura said.
“We didn't want to overwhelm her,” Harris said.
“Dad, overwhelm her, she needs her family, you guys are her family, she loves you guys, I thought you loved her as well,” Matthew said.
“We do, oh god Harris, why did we not visit sooner,” Laura said.
“We should have done better, we should have been there for you both, I'm sorry son, we are going there now,” Harris said.
“I'm getting ready to head home now, come on,” Matthew said. They went out the door and went to the house. They walked in and saw Melanie, David, Tara, Paul, Benjamin, Sarah, Mitch, and Lindsay there.
“You're kidding right, your father called off the divorce?” Mithc asked.
“Yep, he's going to see about moving her to the house so she could be under house arrest for the rest of her sentence,” Paul said.
“He's crazy,” Sarah said.
“I can't believe this,” Kelly said. Matthew moved to his wife and knelt down in front of her.
“I'm here baby,” Matthew said.
“Matt!” Kelly said. She reached for him and he took her into his arms. She buried her face in his neck.
“Paul, Kelly, I can make some calls to prevent her from being able to leave the hospital,” Harris said
“I don't want our dad to hate us,” Kelly said.
“He won't know about it,” Harris said.
“He will figure it out,” Paul said.
“Dad, do it,” Mitch said.
“Bro,” Matthew said.
“No, after everything she did, Matt, look at what she did to your wife, she should not get out of jail free card,” Mitch said.
“He's right, she needs to pay for what she did,” Melanie said.
“What you guys did wasn't enough,” Tara said.
“I have to agree with Mitch,” Lindsay said.
“Me too,” David said.
“Kelly? Paul?” Laura asked.
“Sis?” Paul asked.
“Oh god,” Kelly said. She broke down in Matthew's arms. He held her close.
“I guess go for it,” Paul said.
“Kelly, baby?” Matthew asked.
“I just pray he doesn't find out,” Kelly said.
“Find out what?” Peter asked.
“Dad,” Paul said.
“What's going on here?” Peter asked.
“You tell us, Peter, why would you want Melissa out of the hospital and on house arrest,” Mitch said.
“She's my wife,” Peter said.
“Look what your wife did to your daughter!” Mitch said.
“I know what she did and she was wrong,” Peter said.
“That doesn't give her a get out of jail free card!” Mitch said.
“Dad, I know you love her but what about Kelly, don't you care about her at all?” Paul asked.
“Of course I do,” Peter said.
“How can you think it's okay for your wife to get away with what she did?” Melanie asked.
“Peter, do you love your wife more than your daughter?” Tara asked.
“I'm sorry but I do,” Peter said.
“Then just get out,” Paul said.
“This isn't your house, Paul,” Peter said.
“No but it's mine and I say get the hell out,” Matthew said.
“Kelly?” Peter asked.
“GET OUT!” Kelly yelled.
“Leave now!” Benjamin said.
“You are no longer my father if you even think of getting our out of the hospital,” Paul said.
“Think long and hard, Peter, I do have better connections and I can make sure it doesn't happen,” Harris said. Peter looked at all of them and went out the door. Kelly broke down sobbing. Matthew held her tight.
“I'm here baby I'm here,” Matthew said.
“I better call Grandma,” Pual said. He went to make the call. Harris made some calls.
“I can't believe this is happening, he loves her more than me, what did I do to him,” Kelly said.
“You did nothing wrong, baby,” Matthew said.
“He belongs there with her,” Mitch said.
“Grandma is beyond pissed, she's going to set him straight,” Paul said.
“I spoke with the judge, he's going to make sure she doesn't get released,” Harris said.
“I hope so,” Paul said.
“Mom? Dad?” Kelly asked.
“Yes honey,” Harris said.
“Yes sweetie,” Laura said.
“You both are my parents now,” Kelly said.
“And we always will be,” Laura said.
“We are here for you, Kelly, you are our daughter as much as Melanie is,” Harris said.
“I better go tell Kate what's going on,” Paul said.
“How come she didn't come over?” Kelly asked.
“She was exhausted from work today so Ryan took her home to rest,” Tara said.
“Oh god I hope this doesn't upset her to the point where something would happen with the baby,” Kelly said.
“Me too sis,” Paul said. He hugged her and kissed her forehead and he and Tara left. Melanie and David hugged her and left. Benjamin and Sarah hugged her and left. Mitch and Lindsay left.
“Call if you need us,” Harris said.
“Thanks Dad,” Matthew said.
“Love you guys,” Kelly said.
“And we love you both,” Laura said. They hugged them and left. Matthew locked up and carried her upstairs to the bedroom and they went and showered. He made love to her in the shower. They dried off and collapsed on the bed and made love again before falling asleep in each other's arms.

Chapter 31

The next morning, Matthew woke up to Kelly crying. He pulled her into his arms.
“Oh baby,” Matthew said.
“Why did he do this, why does he love her more than his kids, how could he love her after what she's done, she cheated on him, she assaulted me, and he took her back like nothing happened,” Kelly said.
“I don't know, baby, but you don't need to think about it anymore, you have me and my family, you have Paul and Kate, you have Tara and Sarah, you have plenty of people who love you,” Matthew said.
“Don't ever let me go, I can't lose you,” Kelly said.
“I will never let you go, you have me forever,” Matthew said.
“Make love to me my husband,” Kelly said.
“With pleasure my wife,” Matthew said. He kissed her deeply as they made love off and on throughout the morning. They laid there after the last time holding each other.
“I love you so much, I wish I could see you and look into your eyes,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby, you will see again, I believe you will,” Matthew said. They began kissing again. They heard the doorbell ring. He groaned and got up and got dressed. He helped her get dressed and he carried her down to the couch and got her settled there. He went to the door and opened it and saw Peter.
“What do you want,” Matthew said.
“I wish to speak to you and Kelly,” Peter said.
“Why, shouldn't you be with your wife, she's more important than your children, you love her more right,” Matthew said.
“Matthew please,” Peter said.
“My wife has been upset since last night, I woke up this morning to her crying,” Matthew said.
“Matthew, I would like to see her please,” Peter said. Matthew sighed and let him in and they walked into the living room where Kelly was sitting brushing her hair.
“What do you want, Peter,” Kelly said.
“My daughter back,” Peter said.
“You chose your wife remember,” Kelly said.
“A mistake,” Peter said.
“Really, you realize that,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, I'm sorry about last night, I went home last night and just sat up all night thinking of everything that has happened, I realized that you and your brother and sister are important in my life, you three are my reasons for living,” Peter said.
“Yeah right,” Kelly said.
“It's true, Kelly, I never wanted you to know but after I found out that your mother cheated on me, with your ex, I felt like I was not good enough, I had thoughts of ending it all, I wondered why I was even on this planet,” Peter said.
“You thought about ending your life?” Kelly asked.
“Yes I did, because what she did destroyed me,” Peter said.
“And yet you called off the divorce and forgave her,” Kelly said.
“I thought I did but it turns out I couldn't really forgive her, I called David to file new papers, this time I'm not canceling it, I'm not going to do anything to help her,” Peter said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“I've not been to visit her since yesterday before I came to your house, I thought about you and how she could such a thing to you, to my baby girl, you, Kate, and Paul are my world, I can't believe I thought I loved her more than you guys, that was wrong and not true, there is no way I could love anyone more than my daughters and my son, I am so so sorry for everything!” Peter said. He broke down crying.
“Daddy,” Kelly said.
“Oh baby girl I'm so sorry!” Peter said crying. Kelly moved and felt for him and found him and he took her into his arms and hugged her and cried. She rested her head on his chest and cried with him. Matthew smiled as he watched them.

Chapter 32

Three weeks later, Matthew was in the kitchen making some lunch when he heard a crash upstairs. He ran up the stairs and into the bedroom and saw a lap broken.
“Kelly?” Matthew asked.
“In here,” Kelly said. He went into the bathroom and saw her sitting by the toilet. There was vomit all over the floor and toilet seat.
“Oh baby,” Matthew said.
“I had to throw up,” Kelly said.
“Well you certainly did,” Matthew said.
“Am I a mess?” Kelly asked.
“No you avoided yourself and got it all over the floor and toilet seat,” Matthew said.
“Oh god, I'm sorry,” Kelly said.
“It's okay baby,” Matthew said. He lifted her away from the mess and looked her over and sat her on the bed and put the trash can in her lap. She felt it and giggled.
“Thank you my love,” Kelly said.
“I'll be right back, got a mess to clean up,” Matthew said.
“Oh babe I'm sorry,” Kelly said.
“It's not your fault,” Matthew said. He went into the bathroom and cleaned up the mess. He changed clothes and went downstairs and came back with lunch.
“You feel like eating some lunch?” Matthew asked.
“Oh god,” Kelly said. She threw up in the trash can. He waited until she was finished and took the trash can to clean it and deodorized it and sat it back down. He picked her up and carried her out the door.
“Babe?” Kelly asked.
“I'm taking you to see the doctor,” Matthew said.
“Babe it could be something I ate,” Kelly said.
“Baby I ate the same things you did and I'm not throwing up,” Matthew said.
“Oh god babe, I think I know why I'm throwing up, I could be pregnant,” Kelly said.
“Another reason to take you to the doctor,” Matthew said. They got into the car and went to the hospital and she got in to see a doctor.
“Hello I'm Dr. Martin, and you are?” Dr. Martin asked.
“I'm Kelly Jones and this is my husband Matthew Jones,” Kelly said.
“Hello,” Matthew said.
“What brings you two in today?” Dr. Martin said.
“I've been throwing up this morning, I believe I know what it could be, I might be pregnant,” Kelly said.
“Okay then let's run some tests to be sure,” Dr. Martin said.
“Doc, just letting you know that she can't see right now, she had glass in her eyes that caused her to lose her eyesight for the time being but it's getting better,” Matthew said.
“And how did she end up with glass in her eyes?” Dr. Martin asked.
“My mother threw me into the donut case at the bakery I own with my sister and best friends,” Kelly said.
“Her mother is in the mental hospital right now serving her prison sentence of five years,” Matthew said.
“Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, it looks like you are healing up nicely,” Dr. Martin said.
“That's what they keep saying, I wish I could see for myself,” Kelly said.
“You will be able to eventually, so I will need you to go pee in a cup, I guess your husband can help you,” Dr. Martin said.
“He always helps me when I need it,” Kelly said. Matthew helped her to the bathroom and held the cup while she went. He put it where it was to go and helped her clean up and he washed his hands and helped her wash hers. They went back to the room and sat down. The doctor did some other tests.
“Okay then I'll be right back with the results,” Dr. Martin said. She left the room. Matthew stood there beside her. She leaned against him.

Chapter 33

They sat there waiting for the results. Matthew sat beside her holding her close.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Yes baby?” Matthew asked.
“I need to see again, I need to be able to see you, to see our baby if I'm pregnant, I need to see again,” Kelly said.
“You will baby, it gets better day by day, you will see again, I know it,” Matthew said.
“Oh god Matt, why did this happen to me, why did this happen to us,” Kelly said.
“I don't know baby but we are stronger than ever,” Matthew said.
“I love you so much,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby more than life,” Matthew said. He kissed her forehead and held her as the doctor came in.
“Hey you two, I got your results,” Dr. Martin said.
“Tell us please,” Kelly said.
“You are pregnant,” Dr. Martin said.
“We're having a baby!” Matthew said. He hugged Kelly close as they cried happily.
“Matthew, here is everything that you both need to know and the stuff she will need, I made an appointment for you next month, here you go, congratulations to you both,” Dr. Martin said.
“Thank you,” Kelly said.
“Thanks doc,” Matthew said. They left and went home and he got her settled on the couch and sent a text to everyone to come over. An hour later, everyone was sitting in the living room.
“What's the news sis?” Kate asked.
“We just got home from seeing the doctor, Matthew and I are going to have a baby,” Kelly said.
“I'm going to be a grandpa again!” Peter said.
“Aunt!” Kate said.
“Uncle!” Paul said.
“Uncle!” Mitch said.
“Grandpa,” Harris said.
“Great Grandma,” Martha said.
“Aunt,” Melanie said.
“Aunt,” Sarah said.
“Aunt,” Tara said.
“Uncle,” Benjamin said.
“Grandma,” Laura said.
“Uncle,” Ryan said.
“Uncle,” David said.
“Aunt?” Lindsay asked.
“Yes Lindsay, you will be aunt to this baby,” Kelly said.
“Aww baby, I won't be letting you go,” Mitch said. He hugged her close. Everyone hugged Matthew and Kelly.
“I'm happy for you sis,” Paul said.
“We all are, sis, we are pregnant at the same time, I may be further along but we have some time being pregnant together,” Kate said.
“Yeah I wish I could see you and me together,” Kelly said.
“You will, sis, I know you will get your sight back,” Kate said.
Two weeks later, Matthew woke up and saw Kelly still asleep. He got up and went downstairs and made breakfast.
“MATTHEW!!!!” Kelly yelled. He ran up the stairs and into the bedroom and saw Kelly sitting up on the bed.
“Kelly baby?” Matthew asked.
“Oh god Matt!” Kelly said.
“What is it, what's wrong?” Matthew asked.
“You are still as handsome as ever,” Kelly said.
“Oh baby you can see!” Matthew said.
“I can see you!” Kelly said. He kissed her deeply and hugged her to him. She cried as she held onto him.
“Oh god baby I'm so glad!” Matthew said.
“Me too,” Kelly said. She got up and removed her shirt and went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“I have to see,” Kelly said. She looked at her body and her face and looked at him.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“It's not as bad as it was, baby,” Matthew said.
“I need to see,” Kelly said.
“Baby no,” Matthew said.
“Matt please I need to see how I looked before,” Kelly said. Matthew got his phone and found the pictures of how she looked before. She started sobbing. Matthew took her in his arms.
“Oh god!” Kelly said.
“I love you so much,” Matthew said.
“Don't let me go,” Kelly said.
“Never baby,” Matthew said. He held her as she cried against him.

Chapter 34

The next day, Kelly got up and dressed extra early and kissed Matthew as he slept and left a note and went to the bakery. She walked in the door and locked up behind her and got stuff going for the day. She was sitting in the office looking over paperwork when she heard voices outside the door.
“Someone is here already and knows what to bake first,” Sarah said.
“Maybe Kate couldn't sleep and came in,” Tara said.
“Let's check the office,” Sarah said. They walked in and saw Kelly sitting there.
“Not Kate but close, hey ladies, things look good and the shop did very well while I was gone,” Kelly said.
“Kelly!” Tara said.
“Oh my god!” Sarah said. They both hugged her. She smiled.
“I wanted to surprise you all,” Kelly said.
“You certainly did!” Tara said.
“When did this happen?” Sarah asked.
“Yesterday,” Kelly said.
“And you are already back here,” Tara said.
“I didn't want to spend another day away from here,” Kelly said.
“Oh Kel, we are so glad you are back but don't worry, nothing is going to change just because you are back, we are all going to stay the same,” Sarah said.
“Good, since I'm carrying precious cargo now and I'm sure my husband will not let me overdo it,” Kelly said.
“You've got that right,” Matthew said.
“Matt, good morning,” Kelly said.
“Good morning? Seriously you couldn't have told me your little plan here,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise everyone,” Kelly said.
“She certainly did surprise us,” Tara said.
“Oh my god Kel!” Melanie said.
“Hey sis,” Kelly said.
“You're back!” Melanie said. She came and hugged her.
“Yeah I'm just getting chewed out by your brother here,” Kelly said.
“Matt!” Melanie said.
“What,” Matthew said.
“Why you chewing her out?” Melanie asked.
“I'm not,” Matthew said.
“Yes you are,” Kelly said.
“Baby come on,” Matthew said.
“You didn't seem happy when you got here,” Tara said.
“Because my wife got up and left without telling me, all I got was a note, she didn't let me in on her plan here,” Matthew said.
“Kel, always tell your husband what your plans are,” Melanie said.
“Sorry,” Kelly said.
“Baby, I know you wanted to surprise everyone but you could have told me, I would have kept it secret and understood what you wanted to do, I got worried when I woke up and you were gone, I can't imagine my life without you,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry babe,” Kelly said.
“I love you,” Matthew said.
“Love you too,” Kelly said.
“Let's get to work ladies, we are opening soon,” Melanie said. They went out to get things running. Matthew knelt down beside her.
“I'm sorry Matt,” Kelly said.
“It's okay baby,” Matthew said. She kissed him and rested against him.
“I'm glad to be back to normal,” Kelly said.
“I'm glad too, although I wish you would still need my help with everything,” Matthew said.
“Babe I had this fantasy,” Kelly said.
“What's that baby?” Matthew asked.
“I pictured you bending me over this desk and fucking me from behind while the girls were out front and customers were coming in,” Kelly said.
“Oh god baby,” Matthew said.
“That turned you on didn't it,” Kelly said.
“Oh yeah baby it did,” Matthew said. Kelly got up and closed the door and locked it and bolted it and the other door as well. She sent a text to the girls to not disturb her. Matthew smiled and pulled her close and kissed her before turning her around and bending her on the desk and pulled down her pants and underwear. He undid his pants and pushed them down and his boxers and slammed inside her body. She moaned softly. He held her hips and went fast and hard. She came around him squeezing him tight. He came releasing his warmth inside her body. He kissed her back.
“Just like I pictured it,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby,” Matthew said.
“I love you too,” Kelly said. He got dressed and she got dressed and they unlocked the doors and she finished up things and they went home and continued making love all over the house before settling in bed.

Chapter 35

Three months later, Kelly and Matthew were at the hospital waiting for Kate to give birth to her baby. Kelly rested her head on Matthew's shoulder as she looked around the waiting room. Paul and Tara were sitting there talking with Sarah and Benjamin. Ryan's parents, Greg and Dawn, were talking with David and Melanie. Peter was sitting by Matthew talking with him. Ryan came out and smiled.
“I have a baby boy!” Ryan said.
“What's his name going to be?” David asked.
“Dallas Gregory Frazier,” Ryan said.
“Oh son,” Greg said. He hugged Ryan. Dawn joined the hug. As did David.
“That's the perfect name, I'm so happy, honey,” Dawn said.
“How's Kate?” Kelly asked.
“She's fine, she's resting, she did amazing,” Ryan said.
“Can we see him?” David asked.
“He's in the nursery, come on,” Ryan said. They went to the nursery and saw the baby.
“Oh my goodness he's so precious,” Kelly said.
“He's so handsome,” Greg said.
“He's so beautiful,” Dawn said.
“He's perfect,” Ryan said.
“Yes he is bro, your son,” David said.
“My son, my boy, I'm so happy,” Ryan said. David hugged him. Matthew hugged Kelly from behind and rested his hands on her stomach.
“I can't wait for us to have one of those,” Matthew said.
“I can't wait to see you holding our baby,” Kelly said.
“Me too baby, I can't wait to see you holding our baby in your arms, feeding our baby,” Matthew said. They went to see Kate and Kelly hugged her.
“I'm so glad you are here sis, back to normal and able to see your nephew,” Kate said.
“Me too sis, I love you,” Kelly said.
“I love you sis,” Kate said.
“Baby girl,” Peter said.
“Dad,” Kate said. He hugged her and Kelly.
“He's so handsome,” Peter said.
“Just like his dad and Grandpas,” Kate said.
“And Uncles,” Paul said.
“Yeah,” David said.
“Hi honey,” Martha said.
“Hi Grandma,” Kate said.
“He's so handsome, my great grandson, I love him already,” Martha said.
“I'm glad you are here, Grandma,” Kate said. Peter's phone rang and he looked at it and went out the door to answer it. The nurse brought the baby in and laid him in Kate's arms.
“I can't get over how handsome he is, hey little guy, I'm your mommy, I love you so much,” Kate said. Ryan sat on the bed beside her. Kate rested against him.
“Hey little man, I'm your dad,” Ryan said. He kissed Kate on her forehead. He stroked his son's cheek. Kate let Kelly hold him. Matthew stood with her.
“Hey little guy, I'm your Aunt Kelly, I look like your mom I know but you will understand once you are older,” Kelly said.
“I'm your uncle Matt,” Matthew said. Kelly let Paul hold him. Matthew hugged her close. Peter came back in slowly.

“Dad?” Kate asked.
“Dad what's wrong?” Kelly asked.
“That was the doctor at the mental hospital,” Peter said.
“Mom?” Paul asked.
“She's gone,” Peter said.
“What do you mean gone?” Matthew asked.
“They found her in her room,” Peter said.
“She's dead?” Kate asked.
“How?” Kelly asked.
“They did an autopsy,” Peter said.
“Peter?” Martha asked.
“Cancer, she had cancer and no one knew about it,” Peter said.
“What kind, Dad?” Paul asked.
“Breast cancer,” Peter said.
“Oh god,” Kate said. Ryan hugged her close as she cried. Tara hugged Paul. Martha hugged Peter. Kelly sank into Matthew's arms.
“Ryan, I want to get checked,” Kate said.
“I should too,” Kelly said.
“Let's go baby,” Matthew said. They went to talk to Dr. Martin and she ran some testes that was safe to run with her pregnancy.
“Kelly, you are completely healthy but we will run the most extensive tests once the baby is born,” Dr. Martin said.
“Thank you doc,” Kelly said.
“Thank you doc,” Matthew said. They went home and locked up and sat on the couch and he held her in his arms as she cried.
“I can't believe this, I know I should hate her for what she did to me but she was my mother, she gave me life, and she's gone, she died alone in a mental hospital, no one knew she had cancer, no one knew she was dying, she died thinking I hated her, oh god!” Kelly said. She broke down crying in his arms and he held her close.

Chapter 36
Three days later, Kelly and Matthew arrived home from her mother's funeral. She stood at the window.
“My love?” Matthew asked.
“Hmmm?” Kelly said.
“How you holding up?” Matthew asked.
“I don't know what to feel,” Kelly said.
“It's okay to feel the way you do, after all she did to you,” Matthew said.
“But she was still my mom, she gave me life, I wouldn't be here,” Kelly said.
“I'm thankful that you are,” Matthew said.
“I love you,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby,” Matthew said.
“I'm going to take a nap,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby, I'll be down here watching TV,” Matthew said. She kissed him and went upstairs and laid on the bed and fell asleep.
Three weeks later, Matthew was at the office. Kelly was at the bakery doing paperwork. Melanie came in with an envelope.
“Someone just delivered these,” Melanie said.
“Who?” Kelly asked.
“A messenger,” Melanie said. Kelly opened the envelope and saw pictures of her husband with another woman at his office.
“What the?” Kelly asked.
“What is it,” Melanie said.
“Pictures of Matt at his office with a woman,” Kelly said.
“Okay?” Melanie said.
“They are hugging,” Kelly said. Melanie looked at the pictures and looked at her.
“That's his ex girlfriend from high school, they broke up after graduation and remained friends,” Melanie said.
“Oh,” Kelly said.
“Kel, he loves you, he always has and always will, you are his life now, and you have something she doesn't, his heart, and something else, his child,” Melanie said.
“I need to go see him,” Kelly said.
“I'll go with him,” Melanie said. They went to Matthew's office and went to the door and knocked and opened it and saw Matthew sitting at his desk with the woman sitting on it beside him.
“Kelly, Melanie,” Matthew said.
“Hey bro, Darla, long time no see,” Melanie said.
“Melanie hey!” Darla said. She got off the desk and came over to them.
“What brings you here,” Melanie said.
“I just moved back to town with my mom and my son and I looked up Matthew and came to visit,” Darla said.
“You have a son?” Melanie asked.
“Yeah I met someone in college and we got married and we had a son and then my husband left me for another woman and he gave up his rights to my son, I moved back here with them for a fresh start,” Darla said.
“This is Kelly,” Melanie said.
“Hello,” Kelly said.
“Kelly? This is your wife?” Darla asked.
“Yes she's my wife and she is pregnant with our first child,” Matthew said. Matthew came over and hugged Kelly close.
“How on earth did she get these scars?” Darla asked.
“My mother,” Kelly said.
“What?” Darla asked.
“Kelly owns a bakery with her twin sister and two best friends, her mom threw her into the donut case there,” Melanie said.
“Oh my lord why on earth would she do that to her own child?” Darla asked.
“I used to date Mitch, we found out that she hooked up with him before he and I started dating, we got married and three years later, I found him fucking his assistant in his office one day and filed for a divorce, my mom wanted me to go back to him,” Kelly said.
“Why,” Darla said.
“So she wouldn't be tempted to hook up with him again and cheat on my dad again,” Kelly said.
“But then we found out that he got injured at work and got hooked on painkillers so he checked himself into rehab and Kelly's brother's girl had a friend who worked at the rehab center and they told her that their mom was there and got caught with Mitch having sex in his room, that extended his stay there and she was banned from there, so my father-in-law filed for a divorce and her mother put all the blame on Kelly and threw her into the case where she got the scars and for awhile she was blind,” Matthew said.
“I'm so sorry for all you went through and now look at you, you are back to normal and expecting a child, I would say you came out of it stronger than ever,” Darla said.
“Yes I did, now I want you both to explain to me why these pictures were delivered to me today,” Kelly said. She got the pictures out and put them on the desk. Matthew and Darla looked at them.
“What the hell, baby these are just me greeting a friend, that's it, I don't know why you got these but they are not really bad pictures,” Matthew said.
“I know that but who would send them to me and why,” Kelly said.
“I did,” Crystal said.
“Who are you?” Darla asked.
“She's my assistant and she has questions to answer, sit down Crystal,” Matthew said. She sat down and looked at all of them.
“Talk,” Kelly said.
“I took the pictures and sent them to Kelly in hopes she would get upset and mad and storm over here and go off on you and leave you,” Crystal said.
“Why would you do that,” Darla said.
“Because she wants my husband, that's why,” Kelly said.
“Crystal, is that true, you did this to get to me?” Matthew asked.
“Yes, I wanted you for myself,” Crystal said.
“You would never have gotten me,” Matthew said.
“I did have you once,” Crystal said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“What,” Melanie said.
“Matthew?” Kelly asked.
“Matthew and I shared a night of passion,” Crystal said.

Chapter 37

Kelly looked at her husband and looked at Crystal.
“You had a night of passion with my husband, when was this so called night of passion?” Kelly asked.
“It was the night before he left for Seattle,” Crystal said.
“Oh okay well that was before we were officially together and he had annulled the marriage,” Kelly said.
“Well then you guys aren't married then,” Crystal said.
“Oh we are, the annulment didn't go through,” Kelly said.
“He was still her husband officially,” Darla said.
“He deserves better than her,” Crystal said.
“Oh really, why is that?” Kelly asked.
“You are ugly with those scars,” Crystal said.
“Well the scars obviously don't bother Matthew,” Darla said.
“He's seen me at my worst and still said I was beautiful,” Kelly said.
“Crystal, that one night did not mean anything to me, I love my life more than anything in the world, scars and all, she's beautiful inside and out, you're fired, get your things and get out of my building and never come near me or my family or else,” Matthew said.
“Call Dad, babe,” Kelly said.
“Why,” Matthew said.
“Because we can't trust her,” Kelly said. Crystal's eyes widened.
“Good idea baby,” Matthew said. Matthew called his father who came in with Mitch and Benjamin. Matthew told them what happened. Mitch and Benjamin took her out the door.
“Wow,” Darla said.
“I have always hated her,” Melanie said.
“Babe, I'll come work as your assistant,” Kelly said.
“Baby what about the bakery,” Matthew said.
“I'll work at the bakery,” Darla said.
“Really?” Kelly asked.
“She's good sis,” Melanie said.
“You aren't going to try to get my husband, are you?” Kelly asked.
“Kelly, you have nothing to worry about, Matthew and I are only friends, the love we had is gone, I respect your marriage and would not want to destroy the family you guys are building,” Darla said.
“Darla, how old is your son?” Kelly asked.
“He's five years old,” Darla said.
“How long has it been since you and Matt were together,” Kelly said.
“Ten years,” Darla said.
“Kel baby,” Matthew said.
“I just want to make sure,” Kelly said.
“I understand how you feel, Kel, I see Matthew more as a brother now,” Darla said.
“I'm glad, I just can't lose him,” Kelly said.
“You won't, Kelly, you have all of us here for you,” Darla said.
“Yeah, sis,” Melanie said.
“Okay so Mel, how about you take Darla to the bakery and show her how things go,” Kelly said.
“Got it,” Melanie said. Melanie left with Darla. Matthew pulled Kelly down in his lap.
“You will never lose me,” Matthew said.
“I hope not, I can't be without you,” Kelly said.
“And I can't be without you, it would kill me if I lost you,” Matthew said.
“I hope we never see Crystal ever again,” Kelly said. Matthew's phone beeped. He looked at it.
“We won't, Dad said she got ahold of a knife and came at him and attacked him, Mitch shot her, she's dead,” Matthew said.
“Babe, what are we?” Kelly asked.
“Baby, we are just a normal family with high connections,” Matthew said.
“We aren't mafia?” Kelly asked.
“No baby,” Matthew said.
“Is Dad okay?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, he got a cut on his arm but he got it taken care of,” Matthew said.
“I'm okay Kelly,” Harris said. Kelly got up and went and hugged him. Harris held her.
“I'm sorry, I was just worried when he said she attacked you,” Kelly said.
“It was just a little cut, nothing to be worried about, I'm glad she didn't have a chance to come at you,” Harris said.
“I know I have plenty of protection,” Kelly said.
“Yes you do,” Harris said.
“I just thought of a name for the baby, if it's a boy, I want to name him Ryan Harris Jones,” Kelly said.
“I love it,” Harris said.
“I love it baby,” Matthew said. He got up and came over and hugged her close. Harris joined the hug.

Chapter 38

The next day, Kelly and Matthew were at the doctors office for an appointment.
“So are you both ready to see what you will be having,” Dr. Martin said.
“Yes,” Matthew said.
“Yes,” Kelly said. She got everything going and they watched the screen and saw the baby and smiled.
“There's your baby,” Dr. Martin said. They looked at the screen and smiled.
“Our baby,” Kelly said.
“Our baby,” Matthew said. He kissed her forehead and rested his head against hers.
“I can see the gender of your baby,” Dr. Martin said.
“Boy or girl?” Kelly asked.
“What are your guesses?” Dr. Martin asked
“Girl,” Kelly said.
“Girl,” Matthew said.
“You want a girl?” Kelly asked.
“A girl who looks like her mother, my little princess,” Matthew said.
“You both are right, it's a girl,” Dr. Martin said.
“A baby girl,” Kelly said.
“Our little princess,” Matthew said. He kissed her softly and rested his forehead against hers.
“Congratulations to you both,” Dr. Martin said. They got Kelly cleaned up and she fixed her clothes and they went home.
“Should we get started on the nursery,” Kelly said.
“Yes baby I'll get to work on that,” Matthew said.
“You okay with me being your assistant,” Kelly said.
“I'm okay with it, this way we will be together and I won't miss a moment,” Matthew said. The doorbell rang. Matthew got up and opened it and saw his parents, brothers, sister, and their other halves. They came in.
“What's up,” Matthew said.
“We knew you had an appointment today,” Melanie said.
“So what are we having, grandson or granddaughter,” Laura said.
“It's a girl,” Kelly said.
“A granddaughter, I'm so happy! I would have been happy either way,” Laura said. She hugged them. Everyone hugged them.
“I guess you can't name her after me huh,” Harris said.
“I've thought about that, I know we have a Sarah here already,” Matthew said.
“I think I know what you are thinking,” Sarah said.
“What is it,” Laura said.
“Sirrah Marie Jones,” Kelly sad.
“I get it, instead of it being spelled like Sarah's name, you can spell it like Dad's name spelled backwards,” Benjamin said.
“I love it,” Laura said.
“I'm honored you guys,” Harris said.
“Dad, you and Mom did so much for us, we are married because of you both,” Matthew said.
“They made the right choice there,” Mitch said.
“Bro,” Matthew said.
“No bro, you are better for her than I was, I messed up,” Mitch said.
“Yes you did but now things are as they should be,” Matthew said.
“Yes they are,” Mitch saied.
Three days later, Matthew came home from the office and found the house quiet. He called Kelly and got her voicemail. He called Melanie who was at the bakery and she said Kelly wasn't there. He looked up the location of her phone and saw it was turned off. He called the hospital and talked to Dr. Martin and she told him something that made him sit down. He hung up and called the family over. They gathered in the living room.
“Son, what's going on?” Harris asked.
“Bro,” Mitch said.
“What is it,” Paul said.
“I came home and Kelly wasn't home so I called around, I called Dr. Martin, she said that Kelly had been there this morning,” Matthew said.
“Is she still there?” Peter asked.
“No she was released,” Matthew said.
“Where is she?” Kate asked.
“I don't know, the location is off on her phone,” Matthew said.
“Where is my grandbaby,” Martha said.
“Bro,” Melanie said.
“Dr. Martin said that Kelly lost the baby,” Matthew said.
“Oh god no,” Laura said.
“And no one called you?” Ryan asked.
“I'll look into it,” David said.
“Matt,” Peter said.
“She told me after they cleaned her out, she insisted on leaving and checked herself out of the hospital, I don't know where she is,” Matthew said.
“We should go look for her,” Peter said.
“Hold on,” Mitch said. He got on his phone and looked up something.
“Dammit,” Mitch said.
“Mitch?” Paul asked.
“There was a locator on her car, it's off too,” Mitch said.
“I'll make some calls,” Harris said.
“Find her Dad, please find my wife,” Matthew said.
“Don't worry son, I'll find her,” Harris said.
“I'll help Dad,” Mitch said.
“Me too,” Benjamin said. Melanie and Laura hugged Matthew as he began sobbing at the loss of his child.

Chapter 39

Matthew sat there in his house with the family there around him.
“I don't understand why I wasn't called to the hospital,” Matthew said.
“Okay I made some calls, I got security to look at the footage at the hospital and they are sending it to me, they said the front desk receptionist saw her leave and she was crying and she was alone,” Harris said.
“Did an ex of his come back,” Mitch said.
“I contacted my guy in Seattle who is watching Alyssa, she's on bed rest due to complications of her pregnancy and she is engaged to the father of her baby and from what he could tell, they are in love,” Harris said.
“Darla?” Melanie said.
“What,” Darla said.
“Got anything to tell us?” Melanie said.
“You think I had something to do with this?” Darla asked.
“You are his ex,” Melanie said.
“I told you all that Matt and I are just friends and that's all we will be, I was being truthful with you all, I swear to you,” Darla said.
“Mel,” Matthew said. Harris heard his phone beep and he looked at it and saw the email with the footage and they looked at it and saw Kelly leave the hospital and get into her car and drove off.
“So she was alone,” Matthew said.
“Her phone records show no calls around that time,” Harris said.
“Why the hell did no one call me to the hospital,” Matthew said.
“I got the answer for that,” David asked.
“Bro tell us,” Ryan said.
“It was at the request of Kelly that Matthew not be called to the hospital,” David said.
“What!” Matthew said.
“Why didn't she want him there?” Mitch asked.
“Because there was a mistake made,” David said.
“What do you mean, David?” Laura asked.
“Kelly was further along in her pregnancy,” David said.
“How far along?” Benjamin asked.
“Eight and a half months,” David said. Mitch sat down in a chair.
“So the baby was Mitch's baby,” Lindsay said.
“Yes,” David said.
“I don't understand how a mistake like that could be made,” Matthew said.
“You guys had an appointment the other day,” Melanie said.
“The ultrasound showed the baby and it only looked like she was five months along,” Matthew said.
“Guys, it's how mine was too, I was eight and a half months and the baby looked like he was only five months, he had a growth spurt between then and the time he was born,” Kate said.
“It was the same with Paul and the girls, they are small until it was time for them to be born,” Peter said.
“Oh god,” Mitch said.
“So she left because it was his baby and she thought I would be upset and angry about it,” Matthew said.
“I have people looking everywhere, we will find her, son,” Harris said. Matthew nodded and sat next to Mitch.
“My daughter, she was my daughter and we didn't know, she was on the pill the whole time we were together,” Mitch said.
“Sometimes they aren't as effective, that's how I got pregnant,” Kate said.
“Wait a minute, she was ill at the end of our trip and took antibiotics, that much have affected the pill,” Mitch said.
“Dad we need to find her,” Matthew said.
“I'm on it,” Harris said. He went to make more calls.

Chapter 40

Kelly woke up in the room she was in at a little bed and breakfast four hours away from home. She had cried herself to sleep the night before. She had to leave. She knew she couldn't stay once Matthew found out that it was Mitch's baby she lost. She needed a fresh start and she was going to find it. She had enough cash to last her for awhile since she figured Harris would use his connections to find her. She never gave her real name and she covered her scars and hid her identity. She got up and changed and packed up her things she had with her and checked out and headed back on the road. She drove until she came upon a small town and figured she could blend in there. She saw a help wanted sign at the small diner and went in and applied and got the job and they agreed that she could be paid in cash. She found a small house for rent and it came furnished and she paid cash and moved in. She sat in the living room. She looked at her fingers and pulled off her rings.
“I'm sorry Matthew but I have to do this, I need a fresh start and I won't get it there, oh god this is so hard, I love you so much Matt but you deserve better than me,” Kelly said. She put the rings on her necklace. She went shopping for clothes and stuff and came home and found a guy and a girl on her front steps.
“Can I help you? Kelly asked.
“Hi there, I'm Abby and this is my husband, Trey, you new here?” Abby asked.
“Yes I just moved in,” Kelly said.
“Welcome to our town and the neighborhood, we live next door,” Abby said.
“I'm Kelsey Johnson,” Kelly said.
“Nice to meet you Kelsey,” Abby said.
“Nice to meet you,” Trey said.
“Yo Trey!” Tanner said.
“Hey bro, come meet our neighbor,” Trey said. The guy came over and their eyes met.
“I'm Tanner,” Tanner said.
“Kelsey, nice to meet you,” Kelly said.
“I'm sorry but I have to ask about the scars,” Tanner said.
“An accident I had awhile back,” Kelly said.
“Must have been bad,” Abby said.
“It was, I got glass in my eye and couldn't see but I'm back to normal now, I just have the scars to live with,” Kelly said.
“You're beautiful,” Tanner said.
“Thank you,” Kelly said.
“How would you like to go out for dinner?” Tanner asked.
“Okay,” Kelly said.
“We can make it a double date,” Abby said.
“Abs,” Trey sad.
“Abby,” Tanner said.
“Maybe some other time for that,” Kelly said.
“Pick you up at seven,” Tanner said.
“Okay I'll be ready,” Kelly said.
“See you then,” Tanner said. She went into her house and closed the door. She put her stuff down and sat down.
“I can't believe this, I don't know if I can do this, how can I do this, why did I leave Matt, maybe I should go home, no I can't go home, I have to move on, they need to move on, he deserves better than me,” Kelly said. She went to the bedroom to see what she could wear for her date.

Chapter 41

Kelly sat there in the bedroom thinking about everything. She looked at the rings on her necklace. She got out her phone and saw all the missed calls and messages from Matthew and her family.
“Sis, where are you?!” Kate texted.
“Baby girl, please come home,” Peter texted.
“Sis, come home please,” Paul texted.
“Kel, we know the truth, that the baby was mine, no one is upset or mad, come home to your husband, he's lost without you,” Mitch texted.
“Kelly, my son needs you, please come home,” Harris texted.
“Come home honey,” Martha texted.
“Sis, Matt is heartbroken, he loves you and needs you,” Melanie texted.
“Kel, come home please,” Tara texted.
“Come home Kel,” Sarah texted.
“Sis, we all love you, come home, my brother needs you,” Benjamin texted.
“Come home honey,” Laura texted.
“Sis, we need you,” Ryan texted.
“Kel we need you home, Matt needs you,” David texted.
“Kel, please come home,” Lindsay texted.
“Kelly, come home please, he needs you,” Darla texted.
“Baby, please come home, I need you so much, you are my everything I'm lost without you, please come home baby, please!” Matthew texted. She got up and went next door and knocked on the door. Abby opened the door.
“Kelsey hey,” Abby said.
“Um is Tanner here?” Kelly asked.
“No he's at his house, what's wrong,” Abby said.
“I need to cancel the date and I'm leaving,” Kelly said.
“What where you going?” Abby asked.
“I'm going home,” Kelly said.
“I don't understand,” Abby said.
“My name is Kelly Foster Jones, I'm from Atlanta, I was pregnant and lost the baby at eight months and I couldn't handle it so I left town and my husband to be alone but I made a mistake and I need to go home to my husband,” Kelly said.
“Oh my goodness, okay I understand now, I'll tell him okay, be careful going home,” Abby said.
“I will thank you, there is a key under the mat, there is food in the fridge you all can have, I'll come back to talk with the landlord about the house,” Kelly said.
“Okay thank you, take care, here is my number, stay in touch,” Abby said.
“Thank you,” Kelly said. They hugged and she put her number in her phone and went back and got her things together and got into her car and drove back to Atlanta. She stopped and put her rings back on her fingers and sent a text to Kate telling her she was heading home and to tell the others and continued on.

Kate looked at her phone and squealed.
“Baby?” Ryan asked.
“It's Kelly!” Kate said.
“What did she say?” Paul asked.
“Kate?” Peter asked.
“She's coming home!” Kate said.
“We should tell Matthew,” Paul said.
“No,” Peter said.
“Dad?” Paul asked.
“I think I know, it should be a surprise,” Kate said.
“That's a good idea,” Martha said.
“Yep,” Mitch said.
“He's asleep anyways,” Harris said.
“He needs it,” Melanie said.
“I'm so glad,” Laura said.
“I think we all are, Mom,” Benjamin said.
“I wonder where she's been,” Kate said.
“It doesn't matter, she's coming home,” Peter said.
“Yeah,” Paul said. Melanie and Laura went upstairs and looked in and saw Matthew asleep hugging Kelly's pillow. They smiled knowing she was coming home and it was going to be a surprise for him when he woke up.

Chapter 42

Everyone was sitting in the living room waiting for Kelly to come home when the doorbell rang. Paul got up and opened the door.
“Can I help you?” Paul asked.
“I'm Dr. Martin, I was Kelly's doctor,” Dr. Martin said.
“Come in,” Paul said. She came in and saw everyone.
“Dr. Martin,” Kate said.
“Hi Kate,” Dr. Martin said.
“Kelly isn't here yet,” Melanie said.
“I brought her baby here so she can decide where she would want her buried,” Dr. Martin said. Mitch stood up and came over and she handed him the box. He sat down with it. Lindsay sat with him.
“She and I will decide once she's home,” Mitch said.
“About that, it turns out she was only five months along so it's Matthew's daughter,” Dr. Martin said.
“Well then I'll hold onto my niece until they decide together,” Mitch said.
“Okay and I do apologize for my mistake, I'll be resigning from the hospital tomorrow,” Dr. Martin said.
“Dr. Martin, you don't have to do that,” Kate said.
“We understand that it was just a mistake,” Mitch said.
“Please stay on, I want you as my doctor when Ryan and I are ready for another child,” Kate said.
“Dr. Martin, I speak on behalf of Matthew and Kelly, don't resign,” Harris said.
“Okay then I'll stay, thank you, take care,” Dr. Martin said. She left and they sat there looking at the box in Mitch's hands.
“Harris, Peter, our grandchild is in that box, oh god our little granddaughter,” Laura said. Harris hugged her close. They heard the door open and close. They saw Kelly standing there. Kate ran to her and hugged her tight. Paul joined the hug as did Peter.
“Don't you dare leave us like that again,” Kate said.
“Don't leave us again, sis,” Paul said.
“Oh baby girl,” Peter said.
“I'm sorry!” Kelly said.
“Oh honey,” Martha said. She joined the hug. They heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Kelly saw Matthew coming down the stairs and he looked up and saw her once he got to the bottom. He ran to her and took her in his arms and buried his face in her neck. She cried against his chest.
“Don't you dare leave me again,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry!” Kelly said.
“I love you always and forever,” Matthew said.
“I just thought you would be angry and upset,” Kelly said.
“Why because there was a mistake made, the baby was a part of you, I would have loved her as much as if she was my own,” Matthew said.
“Guys about that, Dr. Martin was just here, she left this for you, she said she made a mistake, the baby was yours, bro,” Mitch said. He handed them the box and Kelly broke down sobbing as did Matthew.
“Oh god!” Kelly said.
“Shhh baby,” Matthew said.
“We are here for you both,” Peter said. Everyone gathered around them as they all mourned the loss of the baby together as a family.

Chapter 43

That night after everyone left, Kelly sat there holding the box in her lap. Matthew came in from the kitchen and sat down.
“Matt, our baby girl,” Kelly said.
“I know baby,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry!” Kelly said.
“Kelly,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry for leaving like I did, I just thought it was better for me to leave,” Kelly said.
“You really think it was,” Matthew said.
“I didn't know what you would think with the baby being your brother's, I thought you would think I cheated or something and I couldn't face you so I left, I drove to a small town and rented a house to have a fresh start,” Kelly said.
“You must have paid cash for everything,” Matthew said.
“Yes and used a different name,” Kelly said.
“Did you meet anyone?” Matthew asked.
“I met a married couple who lived next door, I met the husband's brother as well, he asked me out,” Kelly said.
“Tell me you didn't accept,” Matthew said.
“I did,” Kelly said.
“Oh god Kelly,” Matthew said. He got up and walked around the room.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“He asked you out, even though you had my rings on your finger,” Matthew said.
“I took them off and put them on my necklace,” Kelly said.
“Oh this just gets even better,” Matthew said.
“Matt, I was in the bedroom and was going to get ready but I decided to look at my phone and saw all the messages everyone left, I realized what I needed to do so I told my neighbor to tell her brother-in-law that I couldn't go out with him and they can have the food I bought and I told them my real name and where I was from and that I was married and I was going home, so I gathered my things and came home,” Kelly said.
“Why didn't you tell me you were coming home,” Matthew said.
“I wanted to surprise you, I texted Kate and told her I was coming home and wanted to surprise you so she didn't say anything to you,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, you should have called me when you were at the hospital, I would have understood that you were having Mitch's baby, but now we know there was a mistake and the baby was ours, we could have grieved together right then, I would have grieved with you if it was his, I would have been there for you right then,” Matthew said.
“I know I'm sorry, I should have, I wish I could go back and change things but I can't, I love you and I never want to be away from you again,” Kelly said. Matthew came over and sat down and put the box on the table and took her hands in his.
“You promise me that you will never ever leave me again, that you will never keep anything from me, that you will always be by my side,” Matthew said.
“I promise,” Kelly said.
“Come here baby,” Matthew said. He kissed her deeply and pulled her into his lap and held her close.

Chapter 44

Meanwhile in the small town....
“Baby, you are saying she wasn't who she said she was,” Trey said.
“Something bad happened to her and she needed to get away,” Abby said.
“Then why go back?” Trey asked.
“I guess she realized how much she was loved by her family,” Abby said.
“Hey guys, what is so important, I'm going to be late,” Tanner said.
“Tanner, there is no date tonight, she left town,” Abby said.
“What? Why?” Tanner asked.
“She went back to her family and to her husband,” Trey said.
“Husband, she's married?” Tanner asked.
“I'm not sure of all the details but something bad happened and she came here to escape it but she went back this afternoon,” Abby said.
“Her name isn't Kelsey Johnson,” Trey said.
“Her real name is Kelly Foster Jones and she's from Atlanta,” Abby said.
“I can't believe this,” Tanner said.
“I'm sorry bro,” Trey said.
“She said she will be back to talk with the landlord about the house,” Abby said.
“Let me know if you see her, I need to know what the hell is going on,” Tanner said.
“Tanner,” Abby said.
“Just move on, okay,” Trey said.
“Bro, you don't understand, she could be the one,” Tanner said.
“She's married, Tanner, she went back to her husband,” Abby said.
“He's probably where she got the scars,” Tanner said.
“Bro,” Trey said.
“We don't know that,” Abby said.
“Let's see what's online about her,” Trey said. They sat down and searched her name and found the website for a bakery.
“Okay so she owns a bakery in Atlanta, she has a twin sister who is her co-owner along with two friends, there is an article about an incident at the bakery,” Abby said.
“What's it say?” Trey asked.
“Oh god,” Abby said.
“Sis,” Tanner said.
“It wasn't her husband who caused the scars,” Abby said.
“Bakery owner in the hospital recovering from being thrown into the donut case by her mother, Kelly Jones is currently in the hospital with multiple cuts after her mother, Melissa Foster, threw her into the donut case at the bakery, she also got glass in her eyes causing her to be blind for the time being, Melissa Foster is currently being held at the local precinct, charges pending,” Trey said.
“Her mother did that to her,” Tanner said.
“God only knows why,” Abby said.
“There's another article, Melissa Foster, mother of Kelly Jones, Paul Foster, and Kate Frazier, was found deceased in her room at the local mental hospital due to an undiagnosed form of breast cancer, she was there serving her five year sentence for assaulting her daughter by throwing her into a donut case, her excuse for doing that was she blaming Kelly for destroying her life, her husband, Peter, spoke to us about his wife,” Trey said.
“My wife and I were separated at one time, she hooked up with a younger man who soon would become involved with our daughter, Kelly, my wife and I reconciled after Kelly and Mitch began dating, a year later, they got married and were married for three years before Kelly walked in on Mitch having sexual relations with his assistant in his office, she left him and come to find out that he was hiding the fact that he was addicted to pain pills and checked into rehab, my wife wanted Kelly to forgive him and stand by him, Kelly refused to be with a cheater, that made my wife angry, I did not understand why she would want our daughter to be with him after he lied and cheated until my son's girlfriend talked with a friend of hers who works at the rehab center, she told her that my wife had been visiting him there and they were caught having sex in his room, she was banned from the center and his stay was extended, she put the blame completely on Kelly, because she didn't stay with him and had filed for divorce and got him to sign ad got the divorce finalized but come to find out that their marriage was not legal, her father-in-law had some connections and instead of Mitch being her husband, she had been married to his brother, Matthew, the entire time, after a brief separation, they reunited and gave into their feelings for each other and are now officially deeply in love with each other, I considered staying married to Melissa but I realized it was over and it was time to move on, she will always be the mother of my children but I have to move on with my life,” Peter said in the interview.
“Wow,” Trey said.
“She's been through a lot,” Abby said.
“Damn,” Tanner said.
“Tanner, I'm sorry,” Abby said.
“I wish things could be different but it is what it is, it's time to find that special someone,” Tanner said.
Three days later, they were in the house having dinner when they heard car doors and Abby got up and looked out and saw Kelly with a guy and the owner of the house.
“She's back you all,” Abby said. She went out the door and walked over to them.
“Kelly,” Abby said.
“Hey Abby,” Kelly said.
“You're back,” Abby said.
“Just to give the keys back to Carl,” Kelly said.
“Baby?” Matthew asked.
“I'm sorry, Abby, this is my husband, Matthew,” Kelly said.
“Nice to meet you, I'm Abby Nelson,” Abby said.
“Hi there, I'm her husband, Trey and this is my brother, Tanner,” Trey said.
“Hi,” Tanner said.
“Hi Tanner,” Kelly said.
“Nice to meet you all,” Matthew said.
“Kelly, we looked your name up online and saw that you own a bakery and an article about what your mom did to you and your father's interview,” Abby said.
“Yeah it was rough,” Kelly said.
“We don't know the reason why you ended up here in the first place,” Tanner said.
“I was pregnant and I lost the baby, the doctor told me she made a mistake and said it wasn't my husband's child, she said I was eight months which would have made it his brother's baby and I was scared of his reaction and thought he would have assumed that I cheated so I left and came here to hide out for a bit,” Kelly said.
“So you were married the whole time, why accept a date with me,” Tanner said.
“Because I was unsure what I wanted and while I was getting ready, I looked at my phone and saw all the messages sent by my family and my husband and I got to thinking a lot and realized that I needed to go home,” Kelly said.
“I understand that now,” Tanner said. Kelly looked at them and looked at Matthew who looked at her.

Chapter 45

Kelly and Matthew were looking at each other and looked at Tanner.
“What are you guys thinking about?” Tanner asked.
“Do you have a job here?” Kelly asked.
“I work from home, I can work anywhere, why?” Tanner asked.
“How would you like to come to Atlanta?” Kelly asked.
“What's going on?” Tanner asked.
“We know someone who is single,” Matthew said.
“You mean you want to set me up with someone?” Tanner asked. Matthew showed him a picture of Darla. Tanner looked at the picture.
“Her name is Darla, she dated Matthew in high school and they broke up after graduation and stayed friends,” Kelly said.
“She's got a two year old son, her ex left her for someone else and gave away his rights,” Matthew said.
“He gave up his rights to his son?” Trey said.
“That's just wrong,” Abby said.
“Oh god,” Tanner said.
“Bro?” Trey asked.
“I want to meet her,” Tanner said.
“We will be heading back soon,” Kelly said.
“I'll follow you guys back,” Tanner said.
“Hope things work out, bro,” Abby said.
“Yeah bro,” Trey said. Kelly and Matthew finished up at the house and headed back to Atlanta with Tanner following them. They arrived at the bakery and got out.
“This is your bakery?” Tanner asked.
“Yep,” Kelly said. They walked in and saw Darla and Tara at the counter talking.
“Hey guys,” Kelly said.
“Hey Kel,” Tara said.
“Hey guys what's up,” Darla said.
“Darla, I would like to introduce you to Tanner Nelson,” Kelly said.
“Hello,” Tanner said.
“Uh hi,” Darla said. They both stared at each other. Kelly smiled. Matthew wrapped his arms around her.
“Would you like to have a coffee with me?” Tanner asked.
“I'd love to,” Darla said. Tara made them coffees and they found a table and sat down to talk.
“Where did he come from?” Tara asked.
“A small town six ours from here, it's where I went when I left, his brother and sister-in-law lived next to door to the house I rented there,” Kelly said.
“Hopefully he can fill the void in her and her son's life after being hurt by her ex-husband, leaving her for another woman, giving up his rights, that proves he's an idiot,” Tara said.
“Is it okay if I take off, we are going out on a date,” Darla said.
“Go head and have a good time, both of you,” Kelly said.
“Thank you,” Tanner said. They left. Kelly sank into Matthew's arms.
“Love you baby,” Matthew said.
“Love you more,” Kelly said. They went to the office.

Chapter 46

The next day, Matthew and Kelly held a small service for their baby. Everyone was gathered at the cemetery as the baby was buried close to Melissa.
“She may have done horrible things, but she was my mother, I can't condemn her for the things she did recently when she was the best mom when we were growing up,” Kelly said.
“She can make it up to us by looking out for my niece,” Kate said.
“Our little Angel,” Peter said.
“Our first grandchild,” Harris said.
“She will always be in our hearts,” Laura said.
“Harris, Laura, Kate and I were talking yesterday, I know you are only related through Kelly, but we were wondering if you both would like to be grandparents to our son,” Ryan said.
“We would be honored,” Laura said.
“Yes we would,” Harris said.
“More love for my great grandson,” Martha said. They all went to Matthew's house for a dinner and just talked about things. Everyone left a couple hours later. Kelly stood at the back door looking out. Matthew hugged her.
“I love you beautiful,” Matthew said.
“I love you handsome,” Kelly said.
“Let's get to bed,” Matthew said.
“All right, and we are going to work tomorrow,” Kelly said.
“All right my love,” Matthew said. They went to bed. They got up the next morning and got ready and went to the office and Matthew showed her what to do.
“I'll be right inside baby,” Matthew said.
“Okay boss,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“By the way, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow morning for a checkup,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby I'll go with you,” Matthew said.
“You don't have to,” Kelly said.
“Baby I'm your husband,” Matthew said.
“I know babe,” Kelly said. They heard the elevator and they looked and saw Darla get off with Tanner and her son.
“Hey guys,” Darla said.
“Hey,” Tanner said.
“Hey guys, what brings you by?” Kelly asked.
“Tanner would like to speak to Matthew about a business proposition,” Darla said.
“All right let's go into my office,” Matthew said. The guys went into the office and Darla set her son up with some toys and came over and sat down by Kelly's desk.
“How are things going?” Kelly asked.
“Amazing, he met Parker and they bonded so quick, it was like they were father and son,” Darla said.
“Really?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, Parker is usually shy around other people but when he met Tanner, he hugged him and would not let go,” Darla said.
“Wow that's great, how are things between you two,” Kelly said.
“Amazing, I think I see a future with him,” Darla said.
“I see one with you and Parker,” Tanner said. They saw Tanner and Matthew at the door.
“So what's the scoop?” Kelly asked.
“Well he was looking into leasing some office space for work so since I own the building, he's going to take the floor below us,” Matthew said.
“That's great,” Darla said.
“Have you looked at it?” Kelly asked.
“Matthew said it's pretty much like this floor and they maintain it once a week,” Tanner said.
“I can help you get all set up,” Darla said.
“I was hoping you would be my partner going into this,” Tanner said.
“Yes I will, my mom can watch Parker,” Darla said.
“Actually there is a daycare center down on the second floor,” Kelly said.
“There is?” Darla asked.
“Yes, there are many workers here with kids and I checked with them all and they wanted one so I opened it up,” Matthew said.
“I'll have to check it out,” Darla said.
“We will go look at the floor and then go check it on the way out,” Tanner said.
“Okay then bye guys,” Darla said.
“Bye,” Kelly said. They left. Kelly hugged Matthew.

Chapter 47

Kelly sat there at her desk in deep thought. She was keeping something from her husband and knew it would come out at her appointment.
“Kelly, baby?” Matthew asked.
“Hmm?” Kelly asked.
“Where did you go just now?” Matthew asked.
“I was just thinking about my appointment and how it will go,” Kelly said.
“I hope the doctor gives you the all clear so we can start trying again,” Matthew said.
“Yeah I hope so,” Kelly said.
“Baby what's wrong?” Matthew asked.
“What if losing the baby caused damage to where I can't have more babies,” Kelly said.
“We will deal with it together, I love you baby,” Matthew said.
“I love you too,” Kelly said.
“Baby something's wrong,” Matthew said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“You are keeping something from me,” Matthew said.
“I'm not,” Kelly said.
“Yes you are, Kel, you want to share your secret with me?” Matthew asked.
“Matt, I'm not hiding anything,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, what's going on,” Matthew said.
“Nothing,” Kelly said.
“Bullshit,” Matthew said.
“Matthew!” Kelly said.
“I know you baby, I can read you like a book, you are keeping something from me, tell me what it is now!” Matthew said.
“Matthew, I'm fine,” Kelly said.
“No you are not, you are keeping something from me, do not keep secrets from me, your husband, we should be completely honest with each other,” Matthew said.
“Matthew,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, tell me what is going on, right now,” Matthew said.
“Noting is going on, I'm fine, I'm not keeping anything from you,” Kelly said.
“Kelly,” Harris said.
“Hi Dad,” Kelly said.
“What's going on?” Harris asked.
“My wife is hiding something from me and she won't tell me,” Matthew said.
“I learned a long time ago, you never keep anything from your spouse no matter how bad it is,” Harris said.
“I'm not hiding anything, I'm just worried about my appointment,” Kelly said.
“What is there to be worried about,” Matthew said.
“I'm scared that I will be told that I can't have babies, that the miscarriage caused damage beyond repair,” Kelly said.
“I think we got our answer,” Harris said.
“What's that,” Kelly said.
“What you are hiding,” Harris said.
“I said I am scared that's what the doctor will say,” Kelly said.
“Especially if it is true,” Harris said.
“What,” Matthew said.
“What,” Kelly said.
“I have friends at the hospital, Kelly, I can find out things,” Harris said.
“Kelly?” Matthew asked. She looked at him with tears running down her cheeks.
“Matt, I...” Kelly said.
“Oh god baby why couldn't you tell me,” Matthew said.
“I didn't want to hurt you, or upset you, you were so happy at the thought of us having a baby and I didn't want to destroy that,” Kelly said. Matthew knelt down beside her and took her in his arms as she sobbed against him.
“Why did you keep this from me, baby,” Matthew said.
“I'm sorry, I just wanted to protect you,” Kelly said.
“Baby, you can tell me anything, you don't need to hide anything from me, I love you, I can handle anything, we will figure things out,” Matthew said.
“I can call in some specialists,” Harris said.
“Dad, meet us there tomorrow so we can talk with you after the appointment,” Matthew said.
“All right,” Harris said. He came over and hugged Matthew and kissed Kelly's forehead.
“I love you both and Mom and I are here for whenever you need us,” Harris said.
“We love you Dad,” Matthew said. He left. Matthew helped her up and they went home. He fixed them dinner and they watched a movie and went to bed. The next day they met Harris at the hospital. They went to the appointment. Dr. Martin examined her.
“Dr. Martin, are you sure she can't have children?” Matthew asked.
“I'm sorry Matthew, but the miscarriage caused irreversible damage to her uterus,” Dr. Martin said.
“Is there any way to repair it?” Matthew asked.
“I'm not experienced in that area, there are doctors more advanced at that,” Dr. Martin said.
“I guess that's where my dad comes in,” Matthew said.
“If he's got connections, then yes,” Dr. Martin said.
“Can he come in?” Matthew asked. She nodded and he sent a text and Harris came in.
“Do I have permission?” Dr. Martin asked.
“Yes,” Kelly said. She spoke to Harris about the specialist needed and he nodded and made some calls. Matthew hugged Kelly close.

Chapter 48

The next day, they met with the specialists that Harris called in. They did a full examination on Kelly.
“We will go over these tests and be back with our findings,” Dr. Parks said.
“Shouldn't be more than an hour,” Dr. Adams said. They left the room. Matthew held her close.
“It'll be okay baby,” Matthew said.
“I hope so,” Kelly said. Matthew's phone beeped and he looked and saw his father calling.
“Hey Dad, yeah we are waiting for the results, what, you sure, you are kidding right, how is that possible, no one knew, I doubt she did either, let me know what you find out, bye,” Matthew said. He hung up and looked at her.
“Matt?” Kelly asked.
“Baby, your mother is still alive, she was being held captive for four years,” Matthew said.
“What?” Kelly asked.
“The woman who died was her twin sister, apparently they got separated at birth and the twin came to town and took over your mother's life,” Matthew said.
“How could anyone not know,” Kelly said.
“She had help studying your mom's life,” Matthew said.
“Who was helping her?” Kelly asked.
“Some guy who was involved with your aunt,” Matthew said.
“Does my dad know?” Kelly asked.
“Yeah, he's with your mom now, they are here at the hospital,” Matthew said.
“I need to go see them,” Kelly said.
“Okay as soon as the doctors come back,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“They know to wait for you and your mom won't be going anywhere for awhile, she was beaten and severely dehydrated,” Matthew said.
“Oh god,” Kelly said.
“Paul and Kate are on their way,” Matthew said.
“Matt I don't think I can wait,” Kelly said.
“Baby just be patient okay, maybe we can share some good news,” Matthew said.
“I hope we are able to,” Kelly said. The doctors came back in awhile later and looked at them.
“We went over the tests we ran and the X-rays we took, we should be able to fix the problem, we will have to do surgery to repair the damage but it may be possible that we can repair it and you will be able to have children,” Dr. Adams said.
“Thank god,” Kelly said.
“When can she have it?” Matthew asked.
“I want to schedule it for Friday,” Dr. Parks said.
“In two days?” Kelly asked.
“Yes, is there any issues?” Dr. Adams asked.
“No that's fine, the sooner the better,” Kelly said.
“Okay then here is all the info you will need to get ready for it and we will see you Friday morning at six am,” Dr. Adams said.
“Thank you so much,” Kelly said.
“You're welcome,” Dr. Parks said. They left and went to find her family and walked in and saw her mother lying there on the bed. Peter, Paul, and Kate were gathered around the bed.
“Mom, Kelly's here,” Kate said. Kelly went to the bed and looked at her mother.
“Kelly? Oh my baby girl!” Melissa said.
“Mom!” Kelly said. She gently hugged her as they both cried.
“They told me what she did to you, I'm glad she's dead because I would have killed her myself for hurting you,” Melissa said.
“I am just glad it wasn't you who did this,” Kelly said.
“I could never hurt my children, you three are my life,” Melissa said.
“I told your mom everything, you guys met with the specialists today, how did it go?” Peter asked.
“She will be having surgery on Friday to repair the damage,” Matthew said.
“I should be out of here by then so I can be there for you both,” Melissa said. She began yawning.
“I think it's time for her to sleep,” Peter said.
“We will come back tomorrow,” Kate said.
“Love you guys,” Paul said. He hugged them. Kate followed. Kelly hugged them and she and Matthew went home.

Chapter 49

It was Friday and Kelly was having her surgery. Matthew, Kate, Ryan, Melanie, David, Paul, Tara, Benjamin, Sarah, Peter, Melissa, Martha, Mitch, Lindsay, Harris, and Laura were sitting in the waiting room. Darla and Tanner were covering the bakery for them. Greg and Dawn were babysitting Dallas. Darla's mom had her son.
“I hope this works and she can have kids,” Kate said.
“Me too sis,” Matthew said.
“I looked into these doctors and they dealt with very similar issues in other women and it's been very successful, those women have gone on to have big families, their last patient is pregnant with her fifth child,” Harris said.
“I hope for as many kids as possible, I just pray nothing goes wrong,” Matthew said.
“Matt, in the case something does, Kate and I talked about it,” Ryan said.
“Being Kelly's twin, we pretty much are the same in DNA, so if something does go wrong, I'll be your surrogate,” Kate said.
“Me too,” Sarah said.
“I will be as well,” Tara said.
“I would but I don't think I'll be able to carry my brother's baby,” Melanie said.
“I will look into that, sweetheart,” Harris said. The doctors came out and they all stood up.
“Doc,” Matthew said.
“It was a success,” Dr. Parks said.
“She will be able to have children,” Dr. Adams said.
“Thank god,” Melissa said.
“When can we see her?” Kate asked.
“She's in recovery right now, once we have her settled in a room, then we will let you all visit her,” Dr. Adams said.
“Thank you docs,” Peter said.
“Thank you,” Matthew said. Harris and Laura hugged Matthew.
“Dad, thank you for finding them,” Matthew said.
“I would do anything for you and your brother and sister, you three are my life,” Harris said.
“And Mom too,” Matthew said.
“Of course she is,” Harris said. He hugged and kissed Laura. Mitch and Melanie hugged them and Matthew.
“Matthew, you can go to your wife now,” Dr. Adams said. Matthew went to Kelly's room.
“Hey babe,” Kelly said.
“Hey beautiful,” Matthew said.
“You know,” Kelly said.
“That it went very well and we can have kids,” Matthew said.
“I'm so happy,” Kelly said.
“Me too baby, we did have a backup plan out there in case,” Matthew said.
“What was that?” Kelly said.
“Kate offered to be a surrogate, since she's your twin, Sarah and Tara offered as well,” Matthew said.
“Oh babe,” Kelly said.
“I'm just so happy we don't have to disrupt their lives to have children,” Matthew said.
“We could have adopted as well,” Kelly said.
“Yes baby,” Matthew said.
“But I really want a mini you running around,” Kelly said.
“And I want a mini you as well,” Matthew said.
“Or it could be double of each,” Kelly said.
“I can't wait to get started, baby, I love you so much,” Matthew said.
“I love you more,” Kelly said.
“Kelly how you feeling?” Dr. Adams asked.
“I'm okay I guess,” Kelly said.
“Any pain?” Dr. Parks asked.
“Not really,” Kelly said.
“Okay so you will need to rest and heal so no strenuous activity for six weeks, you should be back to normal completely in three months tops,” Dr. Adams said.
“Oh okay,” Kelly said.
“It's worth the wait baby,” Matthew said.
“Yes that's true,” Kelly said.
“I'm not going anywhere,” Matthew said.
“I know you aren't,” Matthew said. The doctors left the room and Kelly fell asleep. Matthew sat with her.

Chapter 50

Three months later, Kelly got the all clear and she and Matthew took a trip to Miami and checked into their suite and immediately jumped into bed where they spent most of the afternoon and evening.
“Oh god Matt,” Kelly said.
“I know baby,” Matthew said. They laid there looking at the ceiling breathing heavily after making love for the fifth time.
“I love you so much,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby, you are everything to me,” Matthew said.
“Matt,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said. He rolled over on top of her and kissed her deeply.
“I need you,” Kelly said.
“You have me baby forever, I can't get enough of you my love,” Matthew said. He began making love to her again. She wrapped herself around him as he went faster and harder. He came inside her and laid on top of her. He buried his face in her neck.
“Babe,” Kelly said.
“Baby,” Matthew said.
“I forgot about having Lindsay fix my scars,” Kelly said.
“I know baby,” Matthew said.
“Probably can't do it if I'm pregnant,” Kelly said.
“We can ask when we get back, we won't know if you're pregnant then,” Matthew said.
“Call now,” Kelly said. He laid beside her and grabbed his phone and called Mitch.
“Hey bro,” Mitch said.
“Hey bro, Lindsay with you?” Matthew asked.
“Yeah, we're having lunch with Mom and Dad why?” Mitch asked.
“Kel forgot about Lindsay fixing her scars,” Matthew said.
“Say no more, I'll talk with her and text you back,” Mitch said.
“Thanks bro, bye,” Matthew said. He hung up and laid there pulling her against him. She rested her head on his chest.
“Matt?” Kelly asked.
“They are having lunch with Mom and Dad, he will talk with Lindsay and text me back,” Matthew said. His phone beeped and he read the text.
“Lindsay will get to work on your scars when we get back,” Matthew said.
“Okay I just want to look normal again,” Kelly said.
“Baby you will always be beautiful to me,” Matthew said.
“You say that because you are my husband,” Kelly said.
“I say it because it's true, you are beautiful inside and out, I love you so much, I'm so in love with you,” Matthew said.
“Oh Mat,” Kelly said.
“You are my life, baby, you are the only one for me,” Matthew said. She leaned up and kissed him softly. He deepened the kiss and he made love to her.
“Oh Matt, I love you, I can't lose you,” Kelly said.
“You never will,” Matthew said. They kissed deeply and held each other as they fell asleep.
Three days later, they were back home and met up with Mitch and Lindsay at the hospital and Lindsay went right to work on fixing the scars. Mitch and Matthew were talking in the waiting room when their parents came in.
“Hey Mom, Dad,” Mitch said.
“Hey Mom, hey Dad,” Matthew said.
“We need to speak to you both,” Harris said.
“What's up?” Matthew asked.
“Apparently there was some mistakes done at the courthouse, my contact there was arrested for fraud and other charges not related to our family,” Harris said.
“Okay,” Matthew said.
“Dad,” Mitch said.
“They are undoing everything he has done while he was there,” Harris said.
“Matthew, that means your marriage to Kelly,” Laura said.
“What are you saying?” Matthew asked.
“Kelly is still legally married to Mitch, he did the fake marriage license for you and Kelly but they uncovered the real license of Mitch and Kelly,” Harris said.
“We did not do anything right away,” Laura said.
“But she filed the divorce papers and it was finalized before we knew the truth,” Mitch said.
“My contact shredded them before they got to the judge,” Harris said.
“Oh my god,” Mitch said.
“You can't be fucking serious,” Matthew said.
“I'm calling David,” Mitch said.
“I've already told Mel and she's getting him here,” Harris said.
“We are here,” Melanie said.
“I got the papers all ready for signing,” David said.
“I'll sign first,” Mitch said.
“Kel doesn't know yet,” Matthew said. Mitch signed the papers. They waited for Kelly to be done.

Chapter 51

Kelly was brought out a few hours later. She had bandages covering her cheek and arms.
“Hey,” Kelly said.
“Hey beautiful,” Matthew said.
“What's going on?” Kelly asked.
“There is something we need to tell you,” Harris said.
“But first sign these,” David said. He handed her the papers and she looked at them and saw they were divorce papers. She looked at Matthew.
“You want a divorce,” Kelly said.
“Kelly, they aren't for your marriage to him,” David said.
“Honey, let's let Harris explain,” Laura said. She looked at Harris. He came and sat down and explained what happened at the courthouse and about the papers. She looked at them and looked at Matthew.
“So I was really still married to Mitch all this time,” Kelly said.
“Well legally you are, but only after they started undoing everything,” Harris said.
“They told Melanie who came with David and he brought the papers and I signed them and you just need to sign them and we can end the marriage for real this time and you can legally marry Matthew,” Mitch said.
“What happened to the divorce papers from before,” Kelly said.
“The guy shredded them before they got to the judge,” Matthew said. She signed the papers and handed them to David who left with Melanie. Matthew knelt down beside her.
“Why can't we ever be happy, why is there always something happening,” Kelly said.
“I don't know baby but there is no way in hell that I'm ever letting you go,” Matthew said.
“I never want you to,” Kelly said. They left the hospital and went home and he got her settled into bed. He got on the bed next to her and she rested against him.
“I love you so much,” Kelly said.
“I love you baby,” Matthew said.
“I want to be your wife so bad,” Kelly said.
“Let's start planning a wedding then,” Matthew said.
“I think we should just elope,” Kelly said.
“Don't you want your father to walk you down the aisle to me?” Matthew asked.
“Oh yeah I do,” Kelly said.
“I want you to have the wedding of your dreams,” Matthew said.
“I kind of had that when I married your brother,” Kelly said.
“Well it's time for a new dream,” Matthew said.
“Yeah I had two different ideas for weddings,” Kelly said.
“Let's do your other dream wedding,” Matthew said.
“After I take a nap,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby,” Matthew said. She rested against him and closed her eyes. He held her close and kissed her head and swore to himself that he will give her everything she's ever wanted and will never let her go. His phone beeped and he looked at it and saw a text from his sister.
“Bro, I'm with David and he got the papers in and signed off with the judge and it's official, Kelly is free to marry you, let me know the plans,” Melanie texted.
“I'm going to give her a wedding of her dreams, she had two dream weddings so she is getting the other one, she's taking a nap right now,” Matthew texted.
“Tell her I will help out,” Melanie texted.
“Okay sis,” Matthew texted. He put his phone down and kissed her and held her close.

Chapter 52

Kelly woke up and saw Matthew gone. She got up and saw a note on the dresser.
“My love, meet me out back,” Matthew said in the note. She walked downstairs and walked out the back door and saw the backyard. She gasped and covered her mouth with her hands. She felt arms around her from behind and lips on her neck.
“What do you say beautiful?” Matthew asked.
“Yes! Yes!” Kelly said. She turned in his arms and kissed him deeply. He took her hand and pulled off her rings and held up a new ring.
“New fresh start of our life together,” Matthew said.
“I love you,” Kelly said.
“I love you more,” Matthew said.
“Now we can start planning,” Kelly said.
“Mel wants to help,” Matthew said.
“And I am sure your mom does too,” Kelly said.
“Yes she wants to help as well,” Matthew said.
“I need to call everyone,” Kelly said.
“Already did and the girls will be over soon,” Matthew said.
“I can't wait to be your wife officially and spend the rest of my life with you,” Kelly said.
“I can't wait either which is why I am setting the date three weeks from today,” Matthew said.
“I can't wait for the day,” Kelly said. He kissed her deeply and held her close. He stroked her unbandaged cheek.
“Beautiful,” Matthew said.
“Handsome,” Kelly said. They went inside after they cleaned up the yard and made dinner and ate and waited for the girls to show up.
“Mitch said that he and Lindsay are still going strong, that the whole thing didn't hurt their relationship so she will be here and I am going to ask if we can make love,” Matthew said.
“Don't bother asking her, we can, just be careful of the bandages,” Kelly said.
“Oh baby now I wish they weren't coming over,” Matthew said.
“Too bad bro, we are here and in planning mode,” Melanie said.
“Well I want him here for it, it's his wedding too, he should have a say, I want him to have an opinion and approve of everything,” Kelly said.

“Matthew, you know she will win the argument,” Melissa said.

“Good boy, now you sit there by her side and help us plan your big day,” Martha said.
“Yes ma'am,” Matthew said. He kissed Kelly's forehead. Tara, Kate, Sarah, Lindsay, and Laura arrived and they began planning the wedding.
“Okay so we got the location, where we can get flowers, which I will call tomorrow, wedding bands which Matt will get tomorrow, we will need to make an appointment for suits for the guys and dresses for the women and the wedding dress as well,” Melissa said.
“Sis, who is your maid of honor?” Kate asked.
“Who do you think?” Kelly asked.
“Kate, there is no one she would want as maid of honor than her twin,” Peter said.
“I know, I just thought she would want Mel, Tara, Sarah, or even Lindsay,” Kate said.
“We will be perfectly fine as bridesmaids,” Tara said.
“Well if Kate is going to be maid of honor, then Ryan should be best man,” Mitch said.
“Hold on right there, bro, who said I didn't want you to be best man,” Matthew said.
“The ex-husband as best man to the guy marrying his ex-wife, what would people say,” Mitch said.
“Mitch, you guys are in a great place now,” Harris said.
“I want you and Ben to be my best men,” Matthew said.
“You want us to share the title,” Benjamin said.
“So I get to walk with them both?” Kate asked.
“Well Ben can still walk with Sarah,” Matthew said.
“Yeah I want to walk with my girl,” Benjamin said.

“We can figure all that out on who is walking with who at rehearsal,” Laura said.
“We need to take note on who is what in the wedding,” Paul said.
“Kate is my matron of honor, Sarah, Tara, Melanie, and Lindsay are bridesmaids,” Kelly said.
“Mitch and Benjamin are my best men, Ryan, David, and Paul are groomsmen,” Matthew said.
“Now we should work on invites, like who to send invites to,” Kelly said.
“We can tell Darla and Tanner, how about her son as the ring bearer,” Matthew said.
“We will need a flower girl,” Melissa said.
“My niece can do it, she's five,” Tara said.
“Okay, oh I want to invite Abby and Trey,” Kelly said.
“Okay baby,” Matthew said. They continued talking about who to invite to the wedding.

Chapter 53

Three weeks later, it was the day of the wedding. The guests started arriving at the venue they were having it at. The girls were getting ready in the brides room. Kelly got her makeup and hair done.
“Oh baby girl, you look beautiful,” Melissa said.
“So do you Mom,” Kelly said.
“I won't look as beautiful as you, honey,” Melissa said.
“Mom, where do you think we got our looks from, you made us,” Kate said.
“I know I did but I have two beautiful girls,” Melissa said.
“Don't forget a handsome son,” Tara said.
“Oh yes, he's as handsome as his dad,” Melissa said.
“How do we look?” Kate asked.
“You guys don't mind having the same dress,” Kelly said.
“Nope,” Melanie said.
“Nope,” Tara said.
“Nope,” Lindsay said.
“Nope,” Sarah said.
“No sis we don't mind a bit,” Kate said.
“Now it's time for me,” Kelly said. They helped her get her dress on.
“Gorgeous,” Melissa said.
“Matthew is going to want to start the honeymoon quickly,” Kate said.
“He will try to drag you off when you get to the altar,” Melanie said.
“Well he's going to have to wait, anyways I have a surprise for him,” Kelly said.
“What surprise, sweetie,” Melissa said.
“A pre-wedding gift, I left it with Grandma to have Dad give to him,” Kelly said.

They all were sitting in the room ready to go when Peter came in with a box.
“Matthew, here is a gift from your bride,” Peter said.
“What is it?” Matthew asked.
“Open it and see, bro,” Mitch said. Matthew took the box and opened it and saw an article of clothing in the box and he read what it said.
“What is it?” Paul asked. Mitch peeked into the box. Matthew felt tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Looks like we will be uncles, Paul, Ben, Ryan, and David,” Mitch said.
“Grandpa,” Harris said.
“Grandpa,” Peter said.
“I'm gonna be a dad,” Matthew said.
“Yes you are, son,” Peter said. The guys hugged him. Matthew smiled and hugged them.
“I have to see her,” Matthew said.
“You will see her at the altar, son,” Harris said.
“Bro, just be patient,” Mitch said. The guys looked in the mirrors.
“Dad, how come you look different than us?” Paul asked.
“I couldn't find my bow tie so I just grabbed a regular one,” Peter said.
“He's the father of the bride, it makes him stand out and be noticed,” Mitch said.
“Thank you Mitch,” Peter said.
“Kelly said the girls bridesmaids dresses are all the same,” Matthew said. There was a knock at the door. Harris opened it and Laura came in.
“Mom, you look beautiful,” Mitch said.
“Thank you son,” Laura said.
“Mom, look at this,” Matthew said. He showed her the box and she looked at him and hugged him.
“I'm going to be a grandma,” Laura said.
“Yes Mom you are,” Matthew said.
“He wanted to go to Kelly,” Mitch said.
“You will see her at the altar,” Laura said.
“He knows,” David said. She hugged her son and told them it was time and left the room with Peter. They went to their places.
“Just remember, bro, you have to get through the ceremony and the reception before you can take her on the honeymoon,” Mitch said.
“I know bro,” Matthew said.
“I'm happy for you both,” Mitch said.
“Thanks bro,” Matthew said. The music was playing and they watched Darla's son walk down the aisle with the pillow and he sat with his mom and Tanner. Tara's niece walked down the aisle throwing petals and sat with Tara's brother. Melissa was escorted to her seat by Paul who joined the guys standing with Matthew. Lindsay walked down first followed by Sarah, then Tara, then Melanie, and then Kate. Then the wedding march started and they saw Peter and Kelly walking down the aisle. Matthew wiped the tears from his eyes. She smiled at him and he smiled back. They reached him and Peter kissed her cheek and shook his hand and Matthew took her hand in his. She gave her bouquet to Kate and he held both hands.
“Hey beautiful,” Matthew said.
“Hey handsome,” Kelly said. They faced the minister who began the ceremony. They exchanged vows and rings. They were pronounced husband and wife. The minister said to Matthew that he may now kiss the bride. Matthew took her face in his hands and kissed her softly. He hugged her. They walked up the aisle followed by the others and went to the reception and greeted everyone and sat down. Matthew rested a hand on her stomach.
“Baby, we are having a baby,” Matthew said.
“I found out this morning when I got up, I made a quick trip to see Dr. Martin who confirmed it,” Kelly said.
“Baby I'm so happy, I'm going to take extra special care of you,” Matthew said.
“I know you will,” Kelly said.
“I love you so much,” Matthew said.
“I love you more,” Kelly said. They kissed softly. They got up and had their first dance as husband and wife. They danced with their parents and siblings. They did the cake. Matthew pulled her up onstage.
“Hey everyone, thank you for coming to our wedding, we appreciate it so much, we have an announcement to make, Kelly and I are expecting our first child!” Matthew said. Everyone cheered and clapped.
“Have a good time everyone, we are going to leave now, my wife is carrying precious cargo and she needs to rest as much as possible, in the case you didn't know, this isn't our first pregnancy, we were expecting a child before, but at five months, we lost the baby, so you must understand why I want her resting as much as possible this time, I don't want anything like that happening again, I want to do as much as possible to prevent it, thanks for coming, have a good night!” Matthew said. They hugged everyone and left the venue and went to their house and he carried her into the house and locked the door and carried her to the bedroom and he removed her dress and his tux and got into bed and he slowly and gently made love to her. They fell asleep afterward in each other's arms.

Chapter 54

Matthew doted on Kelly for the next few months making sure she was resting as much as possible and not overdoing it. They found out they were having twins and that caused him to make her rest more than usual. She understood that he wanted to make sure she got rest and didn't stress or anything but at times it got too much for her but she didn't say anything. They decided to wait until birth to find out the genders. They got the nursery ready. Kelly stood at the door looking at it. She felt arms wrap around her from behind and a chin rest on her shoulder.
“It's perfect babe,” Kelly said.
“I know baby, I love you so much,” Matthew said.
“Love you,” Kelly said.
Two months went by and it was time for the babies to come. Kelly gave birth to a baby boy and girl.
“Babe they are perfect,” Kelly said.
“I know baby, we made them, we are parents,” Matthew said. The family came in and gushed over the babies.
“What are their names?” Peter asked.
“He is Mark Harris Jones,” Kelly said.
“She is Melinda Lauren Jones, Mindy for short,” Matthew said.
“Perfect,” Harris said. They all took turns holding the babies. Three days later they all went home. They knew the babies were not going to be the only ones they would have because a year and a half later, Kelly was back in the hospital giving birth to another set of twins. This time they were twin boys. They named them Derek Matthew Jones and Jonathan Porter Jones. Kelly told Matthew that four was enough for them. He just smiled and shrugged. She went on birth control. But it wasn't effective enough because a year after the boys were born, she was pregnant with twin girls. She couldn't believe she was having multiples three times in a row. But she wasn't alone with being pregnant this time.
Kate and Ryan was expecting their second child at the same time Kelly was pregnant with the twin girls. Kate and Ryan found out they were having triplets.

Paul and Tara got married a month after Mark and Mindy were born. They waited a couple years before starting their family. They were expecting their first child together.

David and Melanie got married and she was also expecting their first child.

Mitch and Lindsay were engaged to be married and she found out they were expecting their first child.

Benjamin and Sarah got married a month after David and Melanie and soon Sarah became pregnant with their first child.

Tanner and Darla got married and Tanner adopted her son as his own and gave him his last name. Darla soon was expecting their first child together.

Abby and Trey moved to Atlanta to be close to Tanner and Abby started working at the bakery and fit in with the girls. The guys had their hands full with all the girls pregnant at the same time.

Melissa, Peter, Harris, Laura, Greg, and Dawn were doting grandparents. Martha was a very happy great grandmother.

Kelly sat there looking at her husband as he played with the babies. She never knew she could find a guy who loved her as much as he did. They had been through so much and came out stronger and happier. Every night she felt all the love he had for her.
