The next morning, Karly gets up and takes a shower and gets dressed and goes downstairs and makes coffee. Kevin comes into the kitchen.
“Morning,” Kevin said.
“Morning, Kev, ready for your first day,” Karly said.
“Yeah, I am, I'll be working on all the shots I got from the photoshoot,” Kevin said.
“Okay, so let's get going,” Karly said.
“Without me?” Luke asked.
“Oh right, my shadow,” Karly said.
“Your shadow?” Kevin asked.
“Can't go into work without him, he has to go all the time,” Karly said.
“Let's go you two,” Luke said. They got into the SUV and go to the agency. They walked in and saw everyone in the office waiting.
“Hey everyone, thanks for coming, I guess you all heard about Matt's grandma and if you want to go to the funeral, I'll let everyone know when and where, anyways for those who were in LA over the weekend, this is Kevin Parker, he and I went to college together and he was my college boyfriend but we are just good friends now and he is our new photographer on staff here since Patty moved to LA,” Karly said.
“Hey everyone,” Kevin said.
“Okay back to work everyone and let me know tomorrow if you want to attend Matt's grandma's funeral,” Karly said. They went back to work. Luke sat on the couch. Karly showed Kevin where his office was, and he got it set up the way he wanted.
“Hey babe?” Karly asked.
“Yes baby?” Luke asked.
“You're okay with Kevin staying with us?” Karly asked.
“Yeah as long as he is looking for a place,” Luke said.
“Wait a minute, I still have my apartment open, he can take it,” Karly said.
“It has no furniture,” Luke said.
“He can get some,” Karly said.
“He has money, right?” Luke asked.
“Henry and I just paid him for the shoot so yes,” Karly said. There was a knock and Kevin stood there.
“Hey what's up?” Karly asked.
“I almost got the proofs done from the shoot, I guess you look at them before anything,” Kevin said.
“Yes, but Henry wanted to look at them before anything, he will be back Wednesday and he will come look,” Karly said.
“Also, she has found an apartment for you,” Luke said.
“Already, I thought it would take longer to find one,” Kevin said.
“It was my apartment before I moved in with Luke, I was going to rent it out until the lease was up but no one did and the landlord renewed the lease because I wanted to have the extra money, all it needs is furniture and it's still in great shape,” Karly said.
“It's actually not far from here,” Kevin said.
“That's why I never had a car, if I was going far, I would ask Austin or Eric, anything else was in walking distance,” Karly said.
“I'll take it,” Kevin said.
“Okay, we will get everything set up,” Karly said.
“Okay, I better get back,” Kevin said. He left the office. Karly went over to Luke and kissed him.
“I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you more,” Karly said.
“Think anything happened yet?” Luke asked. He put a hand on her stomach.
“Won't know for a couple weeks but we can keep working at it,” Karly said.
“You bet we will,” Luke said.
“Karly! Luke!” Hayley said.
“What,” Karly said. Hayley ran into the office jumping up and down.
“I'm pregnant!” Hayley said.
“What! Congrats!” Karly said.
“Congratulations sis!” Luke said. He hugged her and Karly hugged her.
“Does my brother know?” Karly asked.
“I just called him and he's coming here,” Hayley said.
“You told us before him!” Karly said.
“Sis, you should know that your husband should be the first one told of that news,” Luke said.
“I told him over the phone,” Hayley said.
“You tell that news in person!” Karly said.
“Will you tell Luke first when it happens to you,” Hayley said.
“Of course!” Karly said.
“I'm always with her, you know,” Luke said.
“I forgot you are her personal bodyguard,” Hayley said.
“No just that I like being with her all the time,” Luke said.
“I love you too babe,” Karly said. He smiled and kissed her forehead.
“Hayley!” Eric said. He ran in and hugged her.
“We're having a baby?!” Eric said.
“Yes!” Hayley said.
“I'm going to be a father!” Eric said. He hugged her tight. Luke hugged Karly from behind and rested his hands on her stomach.
“Is there something you aren't telling us?” Hayley asked.
“What,” Luke said.
“We're not,” Karly said.
“We are trying but it's too early still,” Luke said.
“I so didn't need to hear that part,” Eric said.
“Too bad,” Karly said.
“You got my sister pregnant so don't talk,” Luke said.
“He's got a point babe,” Hayley said.
“I know so I took off the rest of the day, let's go share the news with Austin and Abby and your parents,” Eric said.
“Go on,” Karly said.
“Bye!” Hayley said. They left and Karly sat down in her chair. Luke knelt down in front of her.
“What's wrong, baby?” Luke asked.
“I'm just scared,” Karly said.
“About what?” Luke asked.
“That I would not be able to get pregnant,” Karly said.
“Do you want to see a doctor?” Luke asked.
“If nothing happens within three months, yes,” Karly said.
“I will be here for you no matter what, I'm not going anywhere,' Luke said.
“Good because I don't want you to,” Karly said. He leaned up and kissed her softly and rested his forehead against hers. There was a knock at the door. They looked and saw Kevin.
“Sorry to bother you guys, I didn't know when you would be leaving for the day,” Kevin said.
“Um, I guess now,” Karly said. Luke's phone beeped and he looked at it.
“We need to stop at the hospital, it's James,” Luke said.
“All right,” Karly said. They left and went to the hospital with Karly explaining to Kevin who James was and why they were going to the hospital. They walked in and went down the hall and saw James leaning against the wall holding his wife. She excused herself to go use the restroom.
“James?” Luke asked.
“He's gone, my son's gone,” James said.
“Oh man, I'm sorry, don't worry about coming back to work until you are ready, take all the time you need and I'll make sure you get paid regardless and if you need me to make the arrangements or anything, I will,” Luke said.
“Thanks boss, I would appreciate it if you could help with the arrangements,” James said
“Of course,” Luke said.
“I'm so sorry, James,” Karly said. She hugged him. He cried as he hugged her back. He saw Kevin standing back.
“Who's that?” James asked.
“That's Kevin, he's my ex-boyfriend from college and now one of my good friends who works at the agency with me as our staff photographer and he's staying with me and Luke until we get him a place of his own which I have but got to get it furnished before he moves in,” Karly said.
“James is the bartender and manager of Club Rally which is one of the clubs I own,” Luke said.
“I'm sorry for your loss, sir,” Kevin said.
“Thank you,” James said.
“He mentioned something about working for me so maybe he could fill in at the club for you while you are out,” Luke said.
“Does he know how to bartend?” James asked.
“He had a job at a local bar close to the college we went to,” Karly said.
“I think I remember how it's done,” Kevin said.
“Okay,” James said.
“Your wife needs you and I will go call the funeral home to make arrangements for pick up and all that so you two go home and rest,” Luke said.
“Thanks boss,” James said. Luke made some calls and he, Karly, and Kevin headed home. Karly made some calls for furniture and got the time of delivery, so she and Kevin went over to her old apartment and went in. He looks around.

CHAPTER 79

“This is nice,” Kevin said.
“Yeah, it was home for awhile, I never thought I would have a reason to keep this place but good thing I did and I should have left the furniture but it was my grandma's so I took them with me when I moved,” Karly said.
“I don't think you would want strangers using your grandma's furniture,” Kevin said.
“Nope,” Karly said. There was a knock at the door and she opened it and saw the furniture movers and let them bring in the furniture and got everything set up. She paid them and they left. Kevin tested out the bed and couch.
“Now I need a TV and food,” Kevin said.
“We can go shopping!” Karly said.
“The electricity is off, isn't it,” Kevin said. She looked at the time on her phone and groaned.
“And they are closed for the day, okay we will go back to the house and I'll call tomorrow, and you can officially move in tomorrow,” Karly said.
“Okay,” Kevin said. They went back to the house and walked in and went to the kitchen where Luke was talking with Laura, Anna, Willow, and Danielle.
“Hey,” Karly said.
“Hi Mrs. Stone,” Danielle said.
“Please call me Karly, this is my friend, Kevin, he's staying until tomorrow because I forgot about the electricity in the apartment and too late to call,” Karly said.
“Did you have a schedule for us this week, Karly?” Anna asked.
“Oh yes and please tell me if any days won't work, I made it for the month,” Karly said. She got out the schedule and gave them out to them. They all looked them over.
“This will work,” Anna said.
“Okay and if anything comes up, just let me or Luke know and we will make the changes,” Karly said.
“Okay so me and Danielle are on right now so let's get to work,” Willow said.
“Yep,” Danielle said.
“I'll be back tomorrow,” Anna said.
“Okay Anna,” Karly said.
“What would you all like for dinner?” Laura asked.
“It's up to you what you want to fix, we aren't picky,” Karly said.
“I'll eat anything, I have no allergies,” Kevin said.
“Me either,” Luke said.
“Okay then,” Laura said. She went to cooking while Danielle and Willow were cleaning. Kevin and Karly went and sat in the living room while Luke went to his study to start making arrangements for James Jr's funeral. He came out and joined them when he was done and then Laura said food was ready and they went in and sat down and ate.
“This is really good,” Kevin said.
“Yes, it is,” Karly said.
“It is,” Luke said. An hour later, Laura, Danielle, and Willow went home, and Kevin went to his room. Luke locked up the house and went upstairs and found his wife in the shower. He locked the bedroom door and removed his clothes and joined her in the shower. She turned and wrapped her arms around his neck. He kissed her deeply and he lifted her up and pressed her against the shower wall and they made love in the shower. They got out and dried off and collapsed on the bed and made love again.
“I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you too baby,” Karly said. They went to sleep in each other's arms. The next morning, she got up and got dressed and woke Luke up.
“Hey babe, you coming?” Karly asked.
“You guys go ahead, I'm going to go see James and go over details about the funeral,” Luke said.
“Okay, I'll see you later,” Karly said.
“Yes, you will baby,” Luke said. She kissed him deeply and she went out the door and went downstairs and found Kevin in the kitchen drinking coffee.
“Morning K,” Kevin said.
“Morning Kev, ready to go?” Karly asked.
“Your shadow coming?” Kevin asked.
“Not this time, he's going to see James and go over funeral details,” Karly said.
“Okay and can we take a lunch and go find me a car?” Kevin asked.
“Sure, but the apartment is within walking distance of the agency,” Karly said.
“I know but what if I want to go for a drive or something,” Kevin said.
“No need to go car shopping, what kind of car do you want and I'll have it delivered,” Luke said.
“I can pick one,” Kevin said.
“Kev, no use arguing with him,” Karly said.
“Fine, a Dodge Charger,” Kevin said.
“It will be waiting for you when you get back here,” Luke said.
“I was just going to let him take his things and go straight to the apartment from work,” Karly said.
“No need, he can come back here, in fact, he can leave some of his things here, so he can stay here when I have to leave today for club business,” Luke said.
“But you send Drew and Sam out of town for club business and Greg too,” Karly said.
“But James is going to be out so I might need them here to cover for him,” Luke said.
“I thought I was covering for James,” Kevin said.
“Only until you get the hang of the club, it's different than a bar,” Luke said.
“That's true, Oliver's bar is nothing compared to Club Rally,” Karly said.
“Okay, I'll leave stuff here,” Kevin said.
“Okay, because you will need to stay here Friday night thru Sunday,” Luke said.
“What,” Karly said.
“I got to go down to Miami to finalize the paperwork,” Luke said.
“Shouldn't I go with you?” Karly asked.
“You don't need to, besides Dev is getting married and they are having his bachelor party while I'm there,” Luke said.
“Oh well you better stay clear of the strippers and girls because you are a married man,” Karly said.
“You have nothing to worry about, baby,” Luke said. He hugged her to him.
“Okay, let's get to work, Kev, see ya later,” Karly said.
“Color preference?” Luke asked.
“Black,” Kevin said. Kevin followed Karly out the door and they headed to the agency. Karly went to her office and saw Hayley lying on the couch.
“Hayley, are you okay?” Karly asked.
“Morning sickness kicking my butt,” Hayley said.
“Why don't you go home, we will be okay here,” Karly said.
“Probably a good idea, where's my brother?” Hayley asked.
“He's with James going over the funeral details for his son,” Karly said.
“Oh, okay, I will try to make it in tomorrow and put me down as going to Matt's grandmother's funeral,” Hayley said.
“Okay and go to bed when you get home,” Karly said.
“I plan on it and can you call your brother for me,” Hayley said.
“I will,” Karly said. Hayley left the office.

CHAPTER 80

Karly picked up the phone and called Eric as Kevin came in with the proofs he got done.
“Hey sis,” Eric said.
“Hey bro, I'm just calling to tell you that Hayley went home, morning sickness was kicking her butt this morning, so I sent her home,” Karly said.
“Okay, thanks for letting me know, sis, love you,” Eric said.
“Love you, too,” Karly said. She hung up and looked in her phone contact list and called the electric company to turn the electricity back on at her old apartment and hung up.
“Okay, they should be turning the lights back on before you get there tonight,” Karly said.
“Okay cool, so do you want to look at these now or wait for Henry,” Kevin said.
“Henry would kill us if we looked at them without him but what he doesn't know won't hurt him,” Karly said.
“Got it,” Kevin said. He pulled up a chair and they sat side by side and took turns looking at the proofs.
“These are really good, Kev, you are good at photography,” Karly said.
“I know and I'm glad you like them, I hope Henry does too,” Kevin said. There was a knock at the door. They looked up and saw Austin and Abby there.
“Hey guys,” Kevin said.
“Hey bro, sis,” Karly said.
“Hey what's going on here?” Austin asked.
“Looking at the proofs from the photoshoot in Miami, we are looking at them but don't tell Henry,” Karly said.
“We won't, anyways we have some news,” Austin said.
“Abby's pregnant right?” Karly asked.
“Yes, how did you?” Abby asked.
“Just a hunch,” Karly said. She got up and hugged them. Kevin shook hands with Austin and hugged Abby.
“Congrats to both of you,” Kevin said.
“Okay so both of my brothers are going to be fathers, wow,” Karly said.
“It's your turn, sis,” Austin said.
“Working on it,” Karly said.
“So, you and Luke are definitely trying,” Austin said.
“Yep,” Karly said.
“You will let us know as soon as you find out right,” Abby said.
“Of course,” Karly said. The models came in and tell Karly they would all like to go to Matt's grandma's funeral, so she told them when it was going to be and where and the time and they left the office.
“First Matt's grandma, then James's son, is Luke with him?” Austin asked.
“Yeah, he's helping with the funeral arrangements,” Kevin said.
“And he's going to Miami on Friday, I got Kevin set up in my old apartment, but he wants Kevin to stay at the house while he's gone,” Karly said.
“Wow, he must trust you, man,” Austin said.
“I told him I wasn't going to be responsible for breaking up a marriage,” Kevin said.
“Luke's even getting him a car,” Karly said.
“Whoa, he might like you,” Austin said.
“Luke has nothing to worry about, he can trust me with Karly, I know she loves him and she is my boss and I consider her my best friend so there is no way I would let anything happen to her,” Kevin said.
“Aww, you are my best friend, too,” Karly said.
“Kev, you have always been a great guy and I'm glad you are back in our lives,” Austin said.
“Thanks man,” Kevin said.
“Anyways we are going to tell Peter and Barbara, to let them know they will be grandparents,” Austin said.
“Aren't they Hayley and Luke's parents?” Kevin asked.
“Since Austin is my brother and Hayley's brother-in-law, Peter and Barbara told them that they are family and to call them Mom and Dad too,” Karly said.
“That's nice, more love for the baby,” Kevin said.
“Yep,” Abby said.
“Bye sis, bye Kev,” Austin said.
“Bye bro, love you guys,” Karly said.
“Love you too,” Austin said. She hugged him and they left. Karly and Kevin sat down and looked at the proofs. Karly saw one picture.
“Kev, you were supposed to get pics of the models, not me and Henry,” Karly said.
“That one was for you and Henry only,” Kevin said.
“I hope Henry sees it that way,” Karly said.
“He will, these are the drafts, after Henry sees them, I will do the final proofs,” Kevin said.
“Okay, let's get going so you can get settled into the apartment but first you are to pick up your car,” Karly said.
“Let's go,” Kevin said. They went to the house and they pulled in and saw the car.
“Whoa, this is awesome!” Kevin said.
“I figured you would like it,” Luke said.
“Thanks man,” Kevin said. He shook hands with Luke.
“You're welcome, so let's head to the apartment and get you settled in,” Luke said. He got into the car with Kevin and they headed to the apartment with Karly in her car behind them.

CHAPTER 81

They got out of the cars and went into the apartment and Karly gave him the keys.
“Here you are, welcome home Kev,” Karly said.
“Thanks guys so much,” Kevin said.
“Some of your stuff is in the car and I ordered groceries online for you so they will be delivered in an hour,” Luke said.
“Thanks man, I owe you,” Kevin said.
“Just keep an eye on my wife while I'm gone,” Luke said.
“I will man, nothing bad will happen to her,” Kevin said.
“See you tomorrow Kev,” Karly said.
“See ya!” Kevin said. Luke and Karly left and got into her car and headed home. They walked in and he locked up.
“I'm still not totally set with you going alone, what if that waitress is there,” Karly said.
“She won't be, I talked to Dev, he fired her and banned her from the club, baby, I'm not going down there to have an affair, I couldn't do that to you,” Luke said.
“Can you blame me for being like this, I can't help it, women look at you and want to pull you into their bed,” Karly said.
“But I won't go, I will only go if it's you pulling me into the bed,” Luke said.
“Luke, promise me that you will be safe and not drink more than one drink, be the responsible one, don't get sloppy drunk and fall into someone's bed,” Karly said.
“I promise baby that I will not drink more than one drink and I will not get into someone else's bed, same goes for you,” Luke said.
“I don't drink baby, trying to get pregnant here remember oh by the way Austin and Abby are having a baby,” Karly said.
“That's great,” Luke said.
“Yeah, I just hope it happens soon for us,” Karly said.
“Let's go to bed, baby, we need to do some more work,” Luke said. He picked her up and carried her upstairs to the bedroom and removed their clothes and they laid on the bed and made love off and on throughout the night.
“You are my everything, baby, I'm nothing without you,” Luke said.
“Same goes for me,” Karly said. He kissed her again before making love to her once more before falling asleep in each other's arms. The next morning, she woke up and got up and showered and woke up Luke.
“Morning baby,” Luke said.
“Coming to work with me today?” Karly asked.
“Oh yeah,” Luke said. He got up and showered and went to the agency with her and they walked in and she sat down at her desk.
“Karly,” Kevin said.
“Hey Kev, how was your first night in the apartment?” Karly asked.
“It was okay, a little noisy,” Kevin said.
“I'm sorry, I forgot about that, I got used to living at the house that I forgot how living at the apartment was,” Karly said.
“It's something I will have to get used to,” Kevin said.
“You can catch up on any sleep you lost this weekend,” Luke said.
“Luke, I can stay by myself, I'm not a little girl, I don't need someone watching me,” Karly said.
“Karly, it's a big house and it would make me feel better,” Luke said.
“Luke,” Karly said.
“It's not up for discussion, Karly, he stays with you,” Luke said.
“Fine,” Karly said.
“Karly, I know you can take care of yourself, it's just that I don't want you to feel alone and having Kevin there as a friend to hang out with wouldn't be so bad would it?” Luke asked.
“No, it wouldn't, it's fine, you're right, the house is big, and I would have a friend to hang with,” Karly said.
“Okay then, Kevin, how are you liking the car?” Luke asked.
“Oh man it's awesome, I took it for a drive and it's amazing, I know what we can do, K, go for a drive up to Cambridge,” Kevin said.
“You both went to Harvard?” Luke asked.
“Yep,” Karly said.
“I studied to be a lawyer but minored in photography and the photography gave me better opportunities but the lawyer part of me helps too,” Kevin said.
“You just didn't want to be a fulltime lawyer,” Luke said.
“Nope, I don't tell everyone about that part, only my family and Karly's family knew,” Kevin said.
“If I needed my own lawyer, I would have contacted him, but my brothers and I have Jack,” Karly said.
“I guess Austin and Eric told him about me because he called me to meet with him,” Kevin said.
“Maybe he wants you to join his firm,” Karly said.
“But I got a job here,” Kevin said.
“We can make it work, you can see what he wants and then you can sit down with me and Hayley and see what to do,” Karly said.
“I will see at lunch today, so you up for the trip?” Kevin asked.
“Sure, I would like to see the campus again,” Karly said.
“You both be careful and have fun,” Luke said.
“You do the same, remember what I said about drinking,” Karly said.
“I know and I promise you that I won't drink more than one,” Luke said.
“Are you going down alone?” Karly asked.
“Greg is going with me, Drew and Sam are handling the clubs, you can work at Club Rally on Thursday night so the other bartender can work Friday thru Sunday,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Kevin said.
“Drew will be working with you to show you the ropes,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Kevin said.
“Hello all,” Henry said.
“Hey Henry, how was Key West?” Karly asked.
“Amazing!” Henry said.
“And David?” Karly asked.
“Amazing!” Henry said.
“Ready to check out the proofs?” Karly said.
“Yep,” Henry said.
“Okay, you can see here and go over them,” Karly said.
“Aren't you guys going to look?” Henry asked.
“Henry, it's your clothing line, you look,” Karly said.
“Okay,” Henry said.

CHAPTER 82

Henry looked at all the proofs while Luke, Kevin, and Karly sat on the couch waiting. He leaned back and looked at Kevin and smiled.
“They are amazing, even that last picture you snuck in there of me and Karly watching the shoot,” Henry said.
“Can I see that?” Luke said. Henry showed it to him and Luke looked at it and looked at her.
“Beautiful,” Luke said. He kissed her forehead.
“Okay, so point out the pictures you want out and I will get the final proofs done and the pictures printed and ready for you,” Kevin said. Henry showed him the pictures he didn't want. He left after that and Kevin went to work on the final proofs and pictures. Karly sat at her desk. Hayley came in crying.
“Luke,” Hayley said.
“Hey sis, what's wrong?” Luke asked.
“Oh Luke!” Hayley said. She fell into his arms and he held her close.
“Hayley, what's going on,” Luke said.
“I lost the baby last night,” Hayley said.
“Oh no,” Karly said.
“Oh sis, I'm sorry,” Luke said. He held her to him. Karly called Eric.
“Hey sis,” Eric said.
“Hey, I'm sorry, I heard what happened,” Karly said.
“Thank you, sis, we are going to keep trying,” Eric said.
“I love you, bro,” Karly said.
“Love you too, sis,” Eric said.
“I'll talk to you later,” Karly said.
“Hey what are you doing this weekend?” Eric asked.
“Road trip with Kevin, we are going to visit the old college stomping grounds and all that,” Karly said.
“Luke going with you?” Eric asked.
“No, he's heading to Miami to finalize some paperwork for two clubs he invested in and one of the guys is getting married, so they are having a bachelor party while he's there,” Karly said.
“He knows you will be alone with Kevin,” Eric said.
“Yes, and it's fine,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Eric said.
“It's fine, Eric, nothing to worry about,” Karly said.
“Okay, I gotta go,” Eric said.
“Bye,” Karly said. Karly hung up and went back to the paperwork on her desk. Hayley left the office and Luke was sitting on the couch.
“Eric okay?” Luke asked.
“Yeah, he said they are going to try again,” Karly said.
“That's what Hayley said,” Luke said.
“We should know maybe next week if anything happened for us,” Karly said.
“I can't wait,” Luke said.
“There are some tests that I could take that would detect the hormone that would let us know if we will become pregnant,” Karly said.
“We are getting that test,” Luke said.
“Okay, let's go,” Karly said. Kevin came in.
“You guys leaving?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah you?” Karly said.
“Yeah I had that meeting with Jack,” Kevin said.
“We can talk about it tomorrow, I think Hayley went home,” Karly said.
“She miscarried last night so she was upset,” Luke said.
“Oh man, Eric was excited too,” Kevin said.
“Yeah he was, but they are going to try again,” Karly said.
“See you guys tomorrow,” Kevin said.
“See ya man,” Luke said. They left the office and Karly locked up and she and Luke stopped at the drug store and got the tests and went home and she went to take it.

CHAPTER 83

“Luke!” Karly said.
“Yeah baby?” Luke said.
“Come here,” Karly said. Luke came into the bathroom and saw her standing at the sink. She had the test face down.
“Hey what's wrong?” Luke asked.
“I thought we could look at it together,” Karly said.
“Okay,” Luke said. He put his hand over hers and together they turned over the test and looked at it. She looked up at him and smiled.
“It's going to happen, babe,” Karly said.
“You will be pregnant soon?” Luke asked.
“Yes,” Karly said. He hugged her close and kissed her deeply. He lifted her up and carried her into the bedroom and removed their clothes and laid her on the bed and moved on top of her.
“I love you,” Karly said.
“I love you too baby,” Luke said. He laid between her legs and slid inside her body. She held onto to him as they moved together. He came inside her as she came around him and he laid on top of her and kissed her softly. He moved off her and pulled her close. They went to sleep holding each other. The next day she took the morning off to go to James Jr's funeral. They hugged James after it was over and went to the office. Kevin came in and sat down.
“So, what's up?” Karly said.
“Jack offered me a partnership with his firm, part time so I will get to keep working here as well,” Kevin said.
“That's great but what about working for Luke?” Karly asked.
“I can do an occasional night or two at the club,” Kevin said.
“When do you start?” Karly asked.
“Monday,” Kevin said.
“I'm happy for you, Kev,” Karly said.
“Me too,” Hayley said.
“Yeah man,” Luke said.
“Monday is Matt's grandma's funeral, are we riding together or all going separate?” Hayley asked.
“We will meet here and figure it out before we leave,” Karly said.
“I would like to go too, I'll tell Jack that I'll start Tuesday,” Kevin said.
“Okay,” Karly said. That night, Karly, Luke, and Kevin went to the club. Kevin went behind the bar with Drew while Luke and Karly went to the office.
“You are leaving at what time tomorrow?” Karly asked.
“Ten in the morning,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Karly said.
“I'll take you to work and Kevin can bring you home,” Luke said.
“I'll miss you,” Karly said. He pulled her into his arms and hugged her close.
“I'll miss you too baby,” Luke said.
“Hey boss and boss lady,” Greg said.
“Hey Greg, he told me you are going with him tomorrow,” Karly said.
“Yep,” Greg said.
“Do me a favor,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“Keep an eye on him for me,” Karly said.
“You want me to keep an eye on him, you mean keep the girls away,” Greg said.
“I trust him but not them,” Karly said.
“Got it, don't worry, I'll keep him faithful,” Greg said.
“I know he will be or else,” Karly said.
“Or else what?” Luke asked.
“Well you might suffer a case of blue something if you catch my drift,” Karly said.
“You would cut me off?” Luke asked.
“Among other things,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“I have a gun, Luke, whether there will be real bullets or rubber bullets is the real question,” Karly said.
“Karly, I promise you, I will not cheat on you, I will be faithful, I love you, you know that,” Luke said.
“I know, I just don't want to lose you,” Karly said.
“You won't,” Luke said. He kissed her forehead and hugged her.
“I promise, Karly, I won't let any girl near him,” Greg said.
“Hey boss,” Drew said.
“Hey how's he doing?” Luke asked.
“He definitely knows what he's doing,” Drew said.
“I'll go get myself a drink,” Karly said. She went out to the bar and sat down.
“Hey beautiful what can I get ya,” Kevin said.
“Hey handsome how about a martini,” Karly said.
“Coming right up,” Kevin said. He makes her drink and sets it in front of her.
“There you go K,” Kevin said.
“Thanks Kev,” Karly said. She took a drink and watched Kevin work.
“Whatcha doing,” Kevin said.
“Just sitting here while Luke works,” Karly said.
“I thought you said that Drew and Sam pretty much run the clubs,” Kevin said.
“They do but Luke comes in and does payroll and some paperwork that they don't do,” Karly said.
“What time does Luke leave tomorrow?” Kevin asked.
“Ten, he said he'll take me to work if you take me home after since you are staying at the house,” Karly said.
“I thought we could leave tomorrow afternoon for Cambridge,” Kevin said.
“Okay,” Karly said. Luke, Drew, and Greg came up to the bar.
“Ready to go home baby?” Luke asked.
“Yeah, see ya tomorrow Kev,” Karly said.
“See ya,” Kevin said. Luke and Karly went home and they went to bed.
