Karly and Luke walked into the office and saw Kevin sitting at the desk doing paperwork.
“Hey Kev,” Karly said.
“Hey beautiful, let me move so you can sit,” Kevin said. He got up and moved around and sat in a chair to continue
the paperwork.
“How's Hayley?” Kevin asked.
“The tumor is gone,” Karly said.
“That's great!” Kevin said.
“She is coming back tomorrow and she and Eric are going with you to Hawaii, you both are partners here now and I figured
she can be in charge of the shoot locations and you can help me with the paperwork, the doc wants me working half days,”
Karly said.
“Not a problem,” Kevin said.
“Are you okay with that?” Karly asked.
“K, it's fine, I know you need to rest, listen to the doc, and your husband,” Kevin said.
“Yeah baby, listen to me too,” Luke said.
“Yes dear,” Karly said.
“Smartass,” Luke said. His phone beeped and he looked at it.
“I have to go, situation at the club, if I'm not back in two hours, Kev, can you take her home?” Luke asked.
“I can take her home regardless if you come back or not, since I'm staying with you guys,” Kevin said.
“Go on, I'll see you at home,” Karly said. Luke nodded and kissed her softly.
“Work for an hour and then rest, don't overdo it,” Luke said.
“Okay go,” Karly said. He went out the door and she helped Kevin with paperwork. An hour later, she went and
laid down on the couch.
“Take a nap, Karly, I will wake you when it's time to go,” Kevin said.
“Okay Kev,” Karly said. She closed her eyes and went to sleep.
BOOM! She woke up and sat up and saw Kevin running to the window.
“Kev?” Karly said.
“Smoke coming from a few blocks over,” Kevin said.
“I wonder what happened,” Karly said.
“Want me to go find out?” Kevin asked.
“I will go see what it is,” Matt said.
“Thanks Matt,” Karly said. Matt left and Karly stood at the window with Kevin and watched the smoke.
“Kev,” Karly said.
“Yeah K,” Kevin said.
“That's the direction of the club,” Karly said.
“Oh no,” Kevin said. She got out her phone and called Luke. It rang and rang and went to voicemail. She tried
a few more times.
“He's not answering!” Karly said.
“Karly, calm down okay, maybe something happened, and he is working on it and can't answer the phone,” Kevin
said.
“I can't lose him!” Karly said. Kevin took Karly in his arms and held her as she cried.
CHAPTER 133
Karly sat there in the office. Kevin called her family. Soon Austin, Abby, Hayley, Eric, Peter, Barbara, Rick, Angela, Ethan,
Kenny, and Alyssa were there. Rick took Karly in his arms.
“Oh honey,” Rick said.
“Dad!” Karly said. Hayley introduces her parents to Rick, Angela, Ethan, Kenny, and Alyssa.
“Wish we were meeting under better circumstances,” Angela said.
“Hopefully, there is a good outcome to this,” Barbara said. Karly sat there crying. Matt came in and saw all
of them.
“Matt?” Hayley asked.
“I'm sorry, Karly, it was the club, there was an explosion at the club,” Matt said.
“Luke?” Karly asked crying.
“They are looking to see if anyone was inside,” Matt said.
“Matt, why didn't you stay?” Eric asked.
“They wanted everyone out of the area in case there was another explosion, they said it was a gas leak,” Matt
said.
“Oh god!” Karly said. Rick took her in his arms. She cried against him.
“Karly, calm down okay, the babies,” Rick said.
“Who might grow up without their father,” Karly said.
“We haven't heard anything yet, don't give up hope,” Rick said. She grabbed her stomach and screamed.
“Karly!” Kevin said. He came and picked her up and carried out of the building and went to the hospital with
everyone behind them. Kevin took her a room and Dr. Reagan came in.
“Karly,” Dr. Reagan said.
“My babies!” Karly said crying.
“Calm down okay, take deep breaths,” Dr. Reagan said. Karly took deep breaths and settled down so Dr. Reagan
could do the checkup. She ran the ultrasound and saw the babies and turned on the sound and heard the heartbeats.
“Karly, I saw what was going on, Luke's club,” Dr. Reagan said.
“No sign of him,” Kevin said.
“Karly, you need to remain calm, you have two babies who are depending on you,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I know, I don't want to do this without him,” Karly said.
“They haven't found him yet right so there is still hope,” Dr Reagan said.
“Doc?!” a nurse said coming in.
“Stay here,” Dr. Reagan said. She went out the door. Kevin held her hand.
“I'm here, K, and I always will be,” Kevin said.
“Don't leave me, Kev,” Karly said.
“I'm not going anywhere, K,” Kevin said.
“Karly,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Doc?” Karly asked.
“They found him?” Kevin asked.
“Yes, he has been hurt by the explosion, they found him and the bartender out back, looks like they tried to escape
and got thrown against the wall by the blast but he will be okay,” Dr. Reagan said.
“How bad was he hurt?” Kevin asked.
“A concussion and a broken wrist and a few cuts and bruises but he will recover,” Dr. Reagan said.
“And James?” Karly asked.
“Same goes for him too, they both were lucky,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I need to see him,” Karly said.
“I will make that happen just sit tight,” Dr. Reagan said. She went out the door.
CHAPTER 134
Dr. Reagan got a wheelchair and Kevin helped her into it and they took her to where Luke was. They went in and saw him sitting
there in the bed staring out the window with his arm in a sling and bandages all over him.
“Luke!” Karly said.
“Karly, baby!” Luke said. Kevin helped her out of the wheelchair and she went to him and hugged him the best
she could.
“I was so scared!” Karly said.
“I'm okay,” Luke said.
“I thought I lost you, I heard it from the office and Matt went to see what it was and Kevin called the family because
it came from the direction of the club, he told us it was the club and I got so upset that I had pains and Kevin brought me
here to get checked,” Karly said.
“Babies?” Luke asked.
“They are fine, I just need to stay calm and rest, I was scared because they couldn't find you and all these thoughts
went through my head,” Karly said.
“One was she having to do this alone with the babies,” Kevin said.
“Oh, baby I'm sorry that I scared you and got you worried but I didn't know there would be a gas leak,” Luke
said.
“What's the story behind that?” Karly asked.
“Well they're doing construction on the sidewalk and hit the line but didn't realize it and I guess too much pressure
caused it to blow,” Luke said.
“How could they not know they hit the line,” Karly said.
“They thought they stopped cutting before the line and didn't realize how deep they actually cut,” Luke said.
“Can we sue the city?” Karly asked. She looked at Kevin.
“Probably could,” Kevin said.
“We should sue,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“No Luke, it could have been worse, and I could have lost you, your babies would have grown up without you,”
Karly said. He put his hand on her stomach.
“I know baby, but it was an accident, the cops and the fire crew are talking to the construction crew,” Luke
said.
“We need to sue,” Karly said.
“Karly, let it go,” Luke said.
“Why?” Karly asked.
“Because it will just create more of a mess and I don't want people pissed off at us for suing the city over an accident,”
Luke said.
“They need to realize their mistake!” Karly said.
“They will, I have Drew and Sam on it,” Luke said.
“I can talk to Jack and see what he says,” Kevin said.
“Kev man it's okay, James and I are fine,” Luke said.
“Luke stop it!” Karly said.
“No Karly, I just want to go home with you and rest okay, I don't want a legal battle, I just want o to move on and
focus on you and our babies and figure out everything with the club,” Luke said.
“So you want them to get away with this mistake that could have cost you your life and James's life,” Karly said.
“Maybe because I know it was an accident and it's not worth all the hassle of a lawsuit,” Luke said.
“Unless it wasn't an accident and you don't want to scare me because someone wanted you dead,” Karly said.
“No Karly, there is no one after me,” Luke said.
“Don't lie to me, Luke Stone!” Karly said.
“Baby I'm not lying to you, I promised you that I would never lie to you again,” Luke said. There was a knock
at the door. Austin came in with a man behind him.
“Luke, this is Chief Gary Nash with the NYFD, he has a report for you,” Austin said.
“Hello Mr. Stone,” Gary said.
“Hello, this is my wife, Karly, and our friend Kevin,” Luke said.
“What does the report say?” Karly asked.
“The explosion was caused by the gas leak that was caused by the construction crew, they want to pay for the damage
to your club and if you want to rebuild, they will take care of the funding and bring in a crew to help with it,” Gary
said.
“We accept,” Karly said.
“Mr. Stone?” Gary asked. Luke nodded.
“Okay, I'll let them know, have a good night,” Gary said. He left the room. Austin looked at them.
“Karly?” Austin asked.
“What,” Karly said.
“You need to go rest,” Austin said.
“I'm fine,” Karly said.
“No Karly, not when we brought you here for having pains,” Austin said.
“I said I’m fine!” Karly said.
“Karly!” Luke said.
“I'm sorry okay but you got hurt in an explosion and I got upset, babies are fine, I was more worried about you!”
Karly said.
“She really is okay as are the babies, heartbeats are strong” Kevin said.
“I'm glad they are okay, I'm sorry I worried you,” Luke said.
“It's okay, I'm just glad you are okay,” Karly said.
“Mr. Stone, you can go home now,” the doctor said.
“Does he need to be woken up every two hours for the concussion?” Karly asked.
“Let me check him again,” the doctor said. The doctor checked him over and checked his eyes.
“His eyes are normal so looks like the concussion subsided, he just needs to rest,” the doctor said.
“Thanks doc,” Karly said.
“And Dr. Reagan said the same goes for you, Mrs. Stone,” the doctor said.
“Okay,” Karly said. Austin got a wheelchair for Luke and they got wheeled out to the waiting room.
CHAPTER 135
Luke saw the whole family there.
“Hey everyone,” Luke said. His mom and dad hugged him followed by Hayley. Angela and Alyssa hugged him. The
guys shook his hand. They all did the same with Karly.
“You guys going to be okay?” Hayley asked.
“I got them,” Kevin said. Everyone headed home. Kevin carried Karly into the house and up to bed and came back
and helped Luke up and got him to bed.
“Thanks man,” Luke said.
“Holler or text if you guys need anything,” Kevin said.
“Thanks Kev,” Karly said. He left the room and Luke pulled Karly close with his good arm and they went to sleep.
The next morning, she woke up and saw Luke awake looking at her.
“Morning baby,” Luke said.
“Morning handsome, I have decided to put myself on bed rest for awhile,” Karly said.
“Okay baby, are you sure?” Luke asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Okay, want some breakfast?” Luke asked.
“Yes please,” Karly said. He kissed her forehead and got up and changed and went downstairs. She laid there
when she heard a knock and she looked up and saw Kevin.
“Hey Kev,” Karly said.
“Putting yourself on bed rest?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah,” Karly said.
“Okay then,” Kevin said.
“Kev, can you go help Luke, he said he was going to get breakfast, but he is only one handed right now,” Karly
said.
“Say no more, I'm on it,” Kevin said. He went downstairs to help Luke. Her phone rang.
“Hey bro,” Karly said.
“Hey sis how you feeling?” Austin asked.
“I'm okay I guess, I put myself on bed rest and my husband will not stay in bed and rest,” Karly said.
“Stubborn huh,” Austin said.
“Yes, so what's up?” Karly asked.
“Sis we have a meeting with Jack in two hours,” Austin said.
“Oh no,” Karly said.
“I know sis, but we have to make sure we get the money,” Austin said.
“Does he know that I have a different dad?” Karly asked.
“Not that I know of, no one knew what was in the letter until we opened it” Austin said.
“I hope you're right, come pick me up when it's time,” Karly said.
“Okay, sis, love you,” Austin said.
“Love you too,” Karly said. She hung up the phone and leaned back against the pillows.
CHAPTER 136
Luke and Kevin came in with breakfast and she ate.
“What's up baby?” Luke asked.
“Austin called, there's a meeting with Jack in two hours and he's coming to pick me up,” Karly said.
“More about the will?” Luke asked.
“Don't know,” Karly said.
“So, it's just you, Austin, and Eric going,” Kevin said.
“Yeah,” Karly said.
“I wish there wouldn't be any more crap dealt to you guys by that man you called father,” Luke said.
“I'm glad he's not,” Karly said.
“Okay, I should go with you,” Luke said.
“I'll be fine babe, Austin and Eric will be with me, you know they won't let anything happen to me and they will take
care of me,” Karly said.
“I know, I just want to be with you,” Luke said.
“All right fine, help me get ready,” Karly said. He helped her up and helped her change and they went downstairs
just as Austin and Eric came in.
“My shadow has to go with me,” Karly said.
“Okay but he probably will have to wait outside in the waiting room while we are with Jack, the meeting is just for
us three,” Austin said.
“Just as long as I am near her,” Luke said.
“You feeling up to it bro? Eric asked.
“Yeah,” Luke said. They went to Jack's office and Luke waited outside with the receptionist while Austin, Eric,
and Karly went into Jack's office.
“What's up, Jack?” Austin asked.
“What's going on now?” Eric asked.
“Is it about the will again?” Karly asked.
“Something different,” Jack said. They heard someone clear their throat and they looked and saw someone standing
in the corner of the office.
“Oh god,” Karly said.
“What the?” Austin said.
“Mom?!” Eric said.
“It can't be,” Karly said.
“No, it's not possible,” Austin said.
“It is, my dears, I'm alive,” Mom said.
“No, you had cancer, we watched you die,” Karly said.
“I took something that made me appear dead,” Mom said.
“Why?” Austin asked.
“Why did you do this to us!” Eric said.
“Lie to us, made us grieve for you,” Austin said.
“Is this a joke? You aren't our mother, you have to be an imposter,” Karly said.
“Another one of Dad's cruel jokes,” Austin said.
“Make us believe our mom is alive and we would take you in and you play us for a fool,” Eric said.
“Guys, it's your mom, for real,” Jack said.
“LUKE!!” Karly yelled. Luke came running in and took Karly in his arms.
“Baby who is this?” Luke asked.
“She claims to be my mom,” Karly said.
“I am!” Mom said.
“Where did Karly go to college?” Luke asked.
“Harvard, graduated with a business degree, had a boyfriend named Kevin, they broke up when he went to Paris and she
came home and took over the agency when I got breast cancer, she used to be the face of the agency and I started it for her
to be that,” Mom said.
“You could have learned that anywhere,” Karly said.
“Guys, I'm telling you that it's your mom, she wanted to get away from your father and knew leaving him and divorcing
him would cost her the agency so she faked her death so she could leave the agency to Karly,” Jack said.
“If she is our mother, where has she been!” Karly said.
“In Seattle, with my sister and her family as their live-in housekeeper,” Jack said.
“You knew she was alive?” Karly asked.
“You kept this from us?” Austin asked.
“Even after our father died!” Eric said.
“Jack, they had the right to know,” Luke said.
“Who are you?” Mom asked.
“My husband, Luke Stone,” Karly said.
“Your husband, you didn't marry Kevin?” Mom asked.
“No, I was married to Luke already when I ran into Kevin in Miami,” Karly said.
“She knows about the letter of your wish for her to marry Kevin for the sake of the will, but the letter came two months
after the wedding,” Austin said.
“She and Luke are in love,” Eric said.
“Kevin is here in the city, he lives with her and Luke and they are best friends and he is the photographer for the
agency and she made him and Luke's sister who is also Eric's wife, Hayley, partners in the agency with her,” Austin
said.
“Kevin and I are in the past, we still love each other but more as friends,” Karly said.
“You are going to be a grandmother four times over,” Luke said.
“Four times over?” Mom asked.
“Luke and I are pregnant with twins,” Karly said.
“My wife Abby is pregnant with our first child,” Austin said.
“Me and Hayley are expecting our first child, the baby is being carried by a friend because Hayley had a brain tumor
and beat it recently,” Eric said.
“Also, Mom, I know the truth and I suppose you told Jack about it,” Karly said.
“About your real father, yes, but I won't change the will, you will still get the money,” Jack said.
“You met Rick?” Mom asked.
“Yes, I met Rick, and his wife Angela who accepted me as a daughter and Austin and Eric as sons, and I have two more
brothers and a sister,” Karly said.
“How could you not tell Karly who her father was, why keep that from her, Rick wanted to be the father she deserved,
Angela regrets not having you stay and wait for Rick that day you showed up at their house,” Luke said.
“Karly could have grown up with Rick and Ethan, Kenny, and Alyssa, but you kept her with our father,” Austin
said.
“She probably would have been better off with Rick and Angela,” Eric said.
“I know but your father wouldn't let me go or Karly,” Mom said.
“He didn't want her!” Austin said.
“Why did he want to keep her around if he thought of her as a mistake!” Eric said.
“He wanted me to suffer, he knew I slept with someone else because I got pregnant after he had the vasectomy so he
knew the baby wasn't his, he didn't want me or Karly to embarrass him,” Mom said.
“I'm calling Rick down here,” Luke said. He made the call and twenty minutes later, Rick came in and saw her.
“Amy?” Rick asked.
“Rick,” Mom said.
“What? How?” Rick asked.
“She faked her death,” Karly said.
“To get away from our father so she wouldn't lose the agency and it could be left to Karly,” Austin said.
“She couldn't divorce him or she would lose everything so she faked her death so she could leave the will,” Eric
said.
“Care to explain why you couldn't tell me about our daughter?” Rick asked.
“I sent a letter,” Mom said.
“I didn't get a letter,” Rick said.
“Oh no,” Mom said.
“Mother?” Karly asked.
“My husband must have intercepted it after I 'died'” Mom said.
“Oh great!” Rick said.
“That son of a bitch,” Karly said.
“You should have told her when you were supposedly dying, you know me and Karly were with you,” Austin said.
“I'm sorry,” Mom said.
“Sorry doesn't cut it!” Karly said.
CHAPTER 137
“Karly,” Mom said.
“You had plenty of time to tell me who my father was, you could have left a letter with your will to be opened by me
at a certain date!” Karly said.
“I couldn't risk him finding it! I should have known he would intercept the letter to Rick, he would have done the
same to yours,” Mom said.
“Did you know Dad faked his death?” Austin asked.
“No,” Mom said.
“We thought he died of a heart attack a year after we thought you died, but he faked it to test us and he came out
of hiding,” Eric said.
“Jack called freaking out and asked us to get here and we came and found Dad here,” Austin said.
“Trying to take Karly out of the will,” Eric said.
“I asked Luke to get his men and give us thirty minutes before coming to join us and we are glad he did,” Austin
said.
“Dad wanted to kill Karly,” Eric said.
“WHAT!” Rick yelled.
“No!” Mom said.
“Luke came in with his men and held a gun on our father, Dad fired and Karly dove out of the way but the bullet grazed
her arm and Luke shot and killed him,” Austin said.
“You killed him?” Rick asked.
“Yes,” Luke said.
“You have a gun?” Rick asked.
“Yes, he does, Dad,” Karly said.
“It's a good thing he did,” Mom said.
“I think it's time we tell them,” Karly said.
“I'm the King of the Stone Family Mafia,” Luke said.
“You're in the mafia??!” Rick said.
“Yes,” Luke said.
“But what he does is all legal, he sells guns, ammo, and bulletproof vests to the NYPD and does help them with some
cases so there is no danger to any of us, all the mafia families have a treaty, none want a war,” Karly said.
“So, are you his queen?” Mom asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“I don't know about this,” Mom said.
“Oh no you have no say in my life now, you chose to let us believe you were dead so don't come back here expecting
to pick up where you left off,” Karly said.
“I know Karly, but I can't help it, motherly instinct inside me never went away, you are my daughter, nothing can change
that fact,” Mom said.
“I know, I wish I could,” Karly said.
“I know you all hate me but you know the deal, if I left him or divorced him, there would be no Davis Modeling Agency,
I would have been homeless with no money or job and I didn't want to leave my sons with that man,” Mom said.
“Mom,” Austin said.
“We don't hate you,” Eric said.
“We just wish you would have trusted us,” Austin said.
“Let us know what your plan was, and you could have come home sooner,” Eric said.
“We don't hate you,” Austin said.
“I just wish you trusted us with everything,” Karly said.
“And you should have tried harder to get into contact with me, Angela would have listened to you and she would have
helped you,” Rick said.
“I know I made some mistakes but at the time I thought I was doing the right thing,” Mom said.
“Okay so can we sort this out maybe tomorrow or something, Karly needs to go home to rest, she had a scare yesterday
and I was caught in an explosion at my club,” Luke said.
“Explosion?” Mom asked.
“He owns a couple nightclubs in the city and part owner of two clubs in Miami with two friends, there was a gas leak
at one club and there was an explosion and it knocked him and the bartender into a wall, he had a concussion and cuts and
bruises and a broken wrist, he was lucky and I got upset worrying about him that I had pains and got checked out,” Karly
said.
“Dad, can you give them a ride home?” Austin asked.
“I sure can,” Rick said.
“Mom, you will stay at the house with me and Abby,” Austin said.
“The house?” Mom asked.
“He got the house, Eric got the company, I got the agency,” Karly said.
“Oh dear,” Mom said.
“Mom, the house looks completely different, it's been renovated all the way through,” Karly said. She nodded.
Karly hugged Austin and Eric and left with Luke and Rick.
“Dad, call Mom and the sibs over so we can tell them,” Karly said.
“Okay,” Rick said. He made the call and they got into the car and drove to the house.
CHAPTER 138
Karly, Luke, and Rick walked into the house. Kevin came out of the kitchen.
“Hey guys what happened?” Kevin asked.
“My mother is alive,” Karly said.
“What?” Kevin said.
“She faked her death to get away from my stepdad so she wouldn't lose the agency in a divorce,” Karly said.
“Where is she now?” Kevin asked.
“She's staying with Austin and Abby,” Rick said. The door opened and Angela, Ethan, Kenny, and Alyssa came
in. They hugged her and Luke and Kevin.
“What's going on?” Angela asked.
“My real mom is alive, she faked her death to get away from her husband, she couldn't divorce him because she would
lose the agency so she thought the best thing to do was fake her death so the agency would be left to me in a will,”
Karly said.
“Oh honey,” Angela said. Angela hugged her close. Ethan, Kenny, and Alyssa joined the hug with Rick.
“I'm so angry with her right now, you guys are my real family, Austin and Eric are too, I don't know what to think,”
Karly said.
“She said she sent a letter to Rick telling him about Karly, but I am guessing that her husband intercepted the letter
and destroyed it,” Luke said.
“She also said that she couldn't tell the truth because of him, no one is to embarrass him, so she had no choice but
to keep me in that house and say he was my father,” Karly said.
“If anyone is at fault here, I would said it was your stepdad, he got her so afraid to tell the truth and had so much
control that she couldn't break free sooner but she saw a way out when she got cancer,” Angela said.
“I guess I would have to agree with that,” Rick said.
“And I guess she couldn't come forward sooner because the lawyer knew my stepdad faked his death too,” Karly
said. She told them the story about that. She got tired and leaned against Luke.
“Someone is exhausted,” Kevin said.
“We will head out, Karly, how about tomorrow you three come for dinner,” Rick said. Karly looked at Luke and
Kevin. They nodded.
“Okay Dad,” Karly said.
“Okay, come around five thirty,” Rick said.
“Okay,” Karly said. They all hugged her and left. Karly hugged Kevin and Luke helped her up to bed.
“I love you,” Karly said.
“I love you too baby,” Luke said.
“How's your wrist?” Karly asked.
“It's fine baby,” Luke said.
“You want to go check out things tomorrow with the club?” Karly asked.
“They said to give it a week before going back so they have time to get it all sorted out and no more gas leaking or
anything,” Luke said.
“Okay so agency?” Karly asked.
“Yes, but half day remember,” Luke said.
“Yes dear,” Karly said. He smiled and kissed her softly before they went to sleep holding each other.
CHAPTER 139
The next day, Karly, Kevin, and Luke went to the agency and Karly sat down at the desk and Kevin sat down and together they
did the paperwork.
“Karly?” Mom said. They looked up and saw her.
“Mother,” Karly said.
“Hello Kevin, it's good to see you again,” Mom said.
“Hello Amy,” Kevin said.
“What do you want, Mother?” Karly asked.
“I wanted to see how the agency is doing,” Mom said.
“Just fine thank you,” Karly said.
“Luke, you work here too?” Mom asked.
“Well, being married to Karly, I own part of it, unless you are here to take it back from her,” Luke said.
“No, Amy Davis is legally dead so I can't claim anything that was in her name, the agency is right where it belongs,
with Karly, that's why I started it, for her,” Mom said.
“So, what's your name now?” Karly asked.
“Amy Williams,” Mom said.
“Karly and Luke told me everything last night, why did you want Karly to be married to me?” Kevin asked.
“I know what my husband did, setting up the marriage and then the internship to split you two apart, I wanted to make
things right,” Mom said.
“Well a little too late, she was in love with Luke and pregnant with the twins when we found out about the marriage,
we got it fixed because she wanted to be with Luke, Karly and I are best friends and we are better off that way, they have
both become family to me, everyone has,” Kevin said.
“I'm sorry for what my husband did and I'm glad he's dead because instead of faking my death, I should have killed
him but I knew I would go to jail, I am surprised that Luke didn't get charged,” Mom said.
“Because it was justified, he tried to kill my wife,” Luke said.
“Austin, Eric, me, and Jack were witnesses to it, there was no other choice to be done, he wouldn't stop until I was
dead,” Karly said.
“Luke, I thank you for what you did, and I am glad you saved my daughter,” Mom said.
“She's my everything, Amy, she is my life,” Luke said.
“And that is all I wanted for my daughter, a guy who loves her more than life itself and she is his everything, I'm
glad she has you, and Kevin, I am glad you are in her life again, Karly, you are one lucky girl,” Mom said.
“I know,” Karly said.
“But I'm worried about the whole mafia thing, what if there is trouble with other families,” Mom said.
“There won't be, there has been a treaty in place between all families since the days my great grandfather was in charge,
they all got tired of fighting and wars and all that, they passed all that down in the families and the current leaders or
kings as we all like to be called, we all meet once a year to reestablish the treaty and rules and all that, no one wants
a war, we all want to live in peace and if there is a threat from outside the city, we all band together to take care of it,”
Luke said.
“Mother,” Karly said.
“I just was worried,” Mom said.
“She is safe, Amy, when Luke is gone, I'm with her, if I'm not, Austin and Eric are, and now that she has Rick, she
has him, Ethan, and Kenny there for her,” Kevin said.
“I'm safe, Mother,” Karly said.
“I would never let anything happen to her,” Luke said.
“I believe you, Luke,” Mom said.
CHAPTER 140
Karly finished her part of the paperwork. She looked at Kevin and Luke.
“Okay time to go,” Karly said.
“Go where?” Mom asked.
“Home for the day,” Luke said.
“So soon?” Mom asked.
“Amy, she's pregnant with twins and had a couple of scares, the doctor told her to cut back on her hours here so she's
been working half days, me and Hayley handle the rest of the day,” Kevin said.
“I'm here,” Hayley said.
“Mother this is your daughter in law, Hayley,” Karly said.
“Hello,” Hayley said.
“Hello Hayley, it's nice to meet you, I heard you beat your brain tumor, that's great!” Mom said.
“Yes, it is, Eric told me you were alive, I had to meet you,” Hayley said.
“So, you are Luke's sister,” Mom said.
“Yes, I am,” Hayley said.
“Mother,” Karly said.
“I'm trying to get caught up on things,” Mom said.
“Well maybe you should have had Jack keep you in the loop instead of hiding out in Seattle,” Karly said. She
got up and walked out of the room with Luke behind her.
“Karly Ann!” Mom said.
“What Mother, I'm tired and I need to go lay down,” Karly said.
“Can we have lunch?” Mom asked.
“What part of I need to lay down don't you understand, I'm pregnant with twins and had two scares already, don't want
a third one,” Karly said.
“Tomorrow good?” Luke asked.
“Yes,” Mom said.
“Bye,” Karly said. Luke took her home and carried her up to bed. He kissed her forehead and left the room.
“I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you, too,” Karly said. Karly went to sleep. She woke up and saw Luke smiling at her.
“You slept four hours baby,” Luke said.
“Wow four hours?” Karly asked.
“Yeah, now come on, we are going to your dads,” Luke said.
“Okay I'm up,” Karly said. He helped her up and they got ready and headed out and went to Rick's house.
