The next day, Luke was in the office at the club working on payroll when the door opened and Karly came in carrying his little princess.
“There's my girls,” Luke said.
“Hey babe, we missed you,” Karly said. He got up and came over and kissed her softly and kissed Isabella on her forehead.
“How's Daddy's little princess today?” Luke asked.
“Doing good, she's got a big appetite,” Karly said.
“Like the boys did?” Luke asked.
“Yep,” Karly said.
“So where are our little guys?” Luke asked.
“Quality time with Uncle Casey, Dawn is with him,” Karly said.
“So I get my girls to myself huh,” Luke said.
“Yes you do,” Karly said.
“I was thinking, we can call her Bella,” Luke said.
“I like that,” Karly said. Luke took the baby in his arms and sat down and held her to him. Karly smiled as she watched Luke hold their daughter. Her phone rang. She looked at it.
“Dr. Reagan?” Karly asked.
“Karly, hello, can you come meet with me?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“Okay what about?” Karly asked.
“We got the results from your checkups last week,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Should I come by myself or should I bring Luke with me?” Karly asked.
“It's up to you, Karly,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Okay, see you soon,” Karly said. She hung up and looked at Luke.
“What's up baby?” Luke asked.
“Dr. Reagan needs to see me about some tests results they took at the checkup last week, can you come with me?” Karly asked.
“Of course baby,” Luke said. They went to the hospital. Luke held the baby as they sat in Dr. Reagan's office. She came in and saw them and sat down.
“What did you want to see me about?” Karly asked.
“Karly, we found something in your blood work that concerns us,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Oh god doc, is it cancer?” Karly asked.
“I'm afraid so, we want to run more test and see what we can do, to see if chemo and radiation will work,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Oh god, I've been nursing the baby,” Karly said.
“You might have to pump as much as you can before chemo and maybe get her started with warm milk and formula,” Dr. Reagan said.
“We have some frozen from the boys, those should be good right?” Luke asked.
“How long has it been in there?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“I last pumped three months before she was born, the boys were on baby food by then so I froze it, I have two months’ worth of milk in the freezer,” Karly said.
“Breast milk when frozen is good up to six months, a year is acceptable, we will run tests and see how soon you need to start chemo, start using the frozen milk first before you start pumping or letting her nurse, but we need to find out which side is the most infected,” Dr. Reagan said.
“It's breast cancer?” Karly asked.
“Yes, I'm afraid so, but right now your milk is safe for her to drink,” Dr. Reagan said. Karly looks at Luke and covers her face in her hands and started sobbing. Luke wrapped an arm around her. He rested his head against hers.
“It'll be okay, baby, we are going to fight this, you are going to beat it,” Luke said.
“What if I end up like my mom, go into remission and then have it come back and it's terminal like hers was,” Karly said.
“Karly, we are going to do some scans and if it hasn't spread, we will do surgery to remove the affected part and hopefully you will be in the clear,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Then let's get to it, please, as soon as possible,” Karly said.
“Let's go,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I'll call the family,” Luke said. She nodded. He kissed her and she left with Dr. Reagan. He called everyone and met them out in the waiting room. He sat down and waited while holding Isabella.
“Luke!” Rick said. He looked up and saw Rick and Angela followed by Kenny, Ethan, Casey, and Alex. Austin and Eric came in. Peter and Barbara came in.
“What's wrong?” Angela asked.
“Karly has breast cancer,” Luke said.
“Oh no,” Rick said.
“Like Mom did?” Austin asked.
“Yeah, they are doing a scan now,” Luke said.
“Adam and Liam are watching the boys,” Ethan said.
“Honey, you want me to take Isabella?” Barbara asked. Luke nodded and she took the baby and he ran his hands over his face and got up and paced the waiting room.
“Son?” Peter asked.
“I'm scared,” Luke said.
“We all are but she's strong, look at all she's been through and came out strong, she will on this,” Eric said. Luke nodded. Dr. Reagan came out and looked at all of them.

CHAPTER 303

Luke stood there looking at Dr. Reagan as everyone came and stood behind him.
“Doc?” Luke asked.
“It's confined to her left breast so we are doing surgery to get it cleaned out,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Now?” Luke asked.
“Before it spreads,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Please do what you can, doc,” Luke said.
“I will let you know as soon as we are done,” Dr. Reagan said. She went back. Isabella starts fussing. Luke took her in his arms.
“Daddy's here, baby girl,” Luke said.
“She might be hungry,” Austin said.
“Ethan, call your guy and ask him to get in the freezer and in a bag, there is some milk, tell him to put it in a cup of warm water to thaw it out,” Luke said.
“Got it,” Ethan said.
“Mom, you have a car seat?” Luke asked.
“Yes honey,” Barbara said.
“Take her to the house so she can eat,” Luke said.
“Okay honey,” Barbara said. Luke gazed at his daughter and kissed her forehead.
“Daddy loves you my princess, I'll see you soon,” Luke said.
“Your dad and I will stay with her, Liam can help us and we will send Adam here to be with you Ethan,” Barbara said.
“Thank you,” Ethan said.
“Ethan, being Karly's brother, you are family, we support you and your relationship,” Peter said.
“Thank you, Peter,” Ethan said.
“You know Dad will be just fine or Pops as Hayley calls me,” Peter said. Ethan looked at Rick who smiled and nodded.
“Okay Pops,” Ethan said.
“Does that extend to me and Kenny too,” Casey said.
“And Alex too,” Barbara said.
“Thank you, Mom,” Alex said.
“Luke?” Detective Rames said.
“Rames, what are you doing here?” Luke asked.
“I went by the house looking for you and they said you were here,” Detective Rames said.
“Yeah, Karly is having surgery, she's got breast cancer,” Luke said.
“I'm so sorry, I hope she beats it,” Detective Rames said.
“We all do,” Barbara said
“What did you need to see me about?” Luke asked.
“I had this case I'm working on and needed your help, but you are needed here with your wife,” Detective Rames said.
“I'll help, Rames,” Casey said.
“All right, thanks Casey, let's go,” Detective Rames said.
“Let me know about my twin?” Casey asked.
“I will bro,” Luke said. Casey left with Detective Rames and Luke kissed his daughter and his parents left with her. Austin and Eric came over to him.
“She'll be okay bro, she has to be,” Austin said.
“I hate this, she's been through so much, she doesn't deserve this,” Luke said.
“Luke, should we call Kev?” Eric asked.
“You guys didn't call him?” Luke asked.
“No, you said the family,” Austin said.
“He is family, Austin, you know that, he's her best friend and my sons' godfather,” Luke said.
“He's right, we know that, he's family, I'll call him,” Eric said.
“I'm sorry, Luke, I was just worried about my sister that I wasn't thinking anything else,” Austin said.
“He may be her ex, but they have moved on from that, she's called him honorary brother many times,” Luke said. Austin's phone beeped and he looked at it and smiled.
“Abby texted, she and Hayley are on the way, they are leaving the babies with Abby's parents,” Austin said.
“I need to go for a walk,” Luke said. He went out the door and found the hospital gardens and sat on the bench there and stared at the ground. He felt someone next to him and he looked and saw a nurse sitting there smiling at him.

CHAPTER 304

Luke sat there looking at the nurse who sat down beside him.
“Hi there, I'm Britt, I'm a nurse here,” she said.
“I'm Luke and I'm married,” Luke said.
“I don't see you with anyone, what she won't know won't hurt,” Britt said. She started stroking his arm. He moved away from her and glared at her.
“Are you kidding me right now, I came out here to be alone and think about my wife who is having surgery right now, and you are trying to seduce me, it's not going to happen, you are wasting your time, I love my wife, she's everything to me, her and my three kids, they are everything to me, you will not get anywhere with this attempt of seduction because you will never win, don't mess with me or my family, you have no idea what I am capable of or my wife, not go back to work and leave me alone,” Luke said.
“You heard him, bitch, move along, leave my brother alone and don't even think of doing anything because you will be messing with the wrong family, move on and find another guy to seduce,” Hayley said. The nurse ran off and Hayley looked at her brother.
“Can't leave you alone huh,” Hayley said.
“I need to wear a shirt that says happily married and off limits,” Luke said.
“How you holding up?” Hayley asked.
“Worried and scared to death,” Luke said.
“We are all here for you, where's Mom and Dad?” Hayley asked.
“They took Bella home and are helping Liam with the boys so Adam can come be with Ethan,” Luke said.

“Kev make it?” Luke asked.
“Yes, and he was not happy with Austin and Eric since they didn't call him,” Hayley said.

“You were worried about Karly, you asked them to call the family, they should have knock that included Kevin,” Hayley said.
“Luke!” Austin said. Austin came over and punched him.
“Austin, what the hell are you doing!” Hayley said.
“He is cheating on my sister!” Austin said.

“I heard all about it, one of the nurses was going on and on about how awesome you were in bed,” Austin said.
“That bitch!” Hayley said. She ran into the hospital. Luke stood up and glared at Austin.
“You should know me better than that, Austin, I would never ever cheat on my wife, she is my wife and my everything!” Luke said. Luke went in and saw Hayley holding the nurse against the wall.
“YOU LITTLE WITCH! SPREADING LIES!! YOU KNOW HE NEVER TOUCHED YOUR ASS! YOU TRIED COMING ONTO HIM AND HE REJECTS YOU AND SO YOU SPREAD LIES IN FRONT OF HIS FAMILY!!” Hayley yelled.
“He would never do that to my sister, bitch!” Eric said.
“I'm sorry, I wanted him so bad,” Britt said.
“You threw yourself at a married man, who loves his wife more than anything, you have no morals,” Alex said.
“Britt?” Marcus said.
“Marcus help me!” Britt said.
“Marcus, don't bother, she deserves what she gets,” Luke said.
“What did she do?” Marcus asked.

“She tried seducing a married man,” Alex said.

“Nice to meet you, Hayley, Britt, clock out and let's go now,” Marcus said. Hayley let her go and she ran off to the break room.
“I'm sorry about this, she's been out of control for awhile,” Marcus said.
“Keep her contained,” Alex said.
“I will have a talk with her,” Marcus said. He waved and went to the breakroom and left with her. Austin came over to Luke.
“I'm sorry, I overreacted,” Austin said.
“It's fine, just talk before punch, okay, I would have told the truth,” Luke said.
“Okay sorry again,” Austin said. They sat down and waited for news on Karly.

CHAPTER 305

(This chapter is all a dream that Luke is having)

They all were sitting there waiting for word on Karly. They suddenly heard a gunshot and Luke turned and saw a man standing there with a gun pointed at them. It was Mark Ashby, Marcus's father.
“HAYLEY!” Eric yelled. Luke saw her in Eric's arms. He was holding his hand on her stomach. Luke pulled out his gun along with Alex.
“Mark what the hell!” Luke said.
“She put her hands on my baby girl!” Mark said.
“Your baby girl threw herself at a married man!” Alex said.
“Dad!” Marcus said. Marcus came up and took his gun from him.
“No one touches my baby girl!” Mark said.
“So, it was okay for her to try to seduce me?!” Luke said.
“Your daughter shouldn't have done what she did,” Austin said.
“The witch shouldn't have touched my brother,” Hayley said. The doctors and nurses loaded her on a gurney and wheeled her off with Eric behind them following.
“Dad, Britt tried to seduce Luke who is married, you just pissed him off even more!” Marcus said.
“Unless it was his idea,” Luke said.
“Son of a bitch,” Austin said.
“Father?” Marcus asked.
“You needed a queen, son,” Mark said.
“I can find my own queen, Dad, I don't need you helping!” Marcus said.
“So, what was the plan here, have your daughter seduce my brother-in-law from my sister, they divorce so your son could have my sister to make that fake marriage deal real?” Austin asked.
“Yes, she is a strong queen, he needs that,” Mark said.

“Marcus!” Mark said.
“You went too far, Father, the plan wouldn't have worked, I can't have someone who is already taken, I will not break up a marriage!” Marcus said.
“What is going on here?” Detective Rames asked. He and Casey come in with two officers behind them.
“This guy came in and shot Hayley because she touched his daughter who tried to seduce Luke so he and Karly would divorce so Karly could be with his son,” Ethan said.
“Which is not going to happen,” Marcus said.
“I'm sorry, I just wanted to help,” Mark said.
“This isn't helping, this is making a bigger mess for me to have to clean up!” Marcus said.
“Well then Mark Ashby, you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Hayley Lawson,” Detective Rames said. Detective Rames read him his rights and took him away.
“Luke, I'm so sorry about this, my sister never does anything wrong in his eyes, she's his perfect angel, no matter how wrong she is or what she does wrong, it's okay in his eyes, I always had to work for his approval, she never had to,” Marcus said.
“Does she even work here?” Alex asked.
“Not anymore, I put her in the mental institution,” Marcus said.
“Good,” Alex said. Eric came running out and looked around and saw Marcus.
“Where is that good for nothing father of yours!” Eric said.
“Rames arrested him and took him away bro,” Austin said.
“I want him dead!!!!” Eric said.
“Eric?” Luke asked.
“She's gone, Luke!” Eric said.
“Oh god no,” Abby said.
“She went into cardiac arrest on the operating table and they couldn't save her!” Eric said. Austin pulled Eric into his arms and hugged him as Eric broke down sobbing in his arms.
“Adam let's go to the house, Peter and Barbara need to know,” Ethan said. They left. Luke sank down into the chair. Marcus left the hospital. Rick and Angela sat with Luke. Dr. Reagan came out. Luke stood up. He would mourn Hayley after he finds out about his wife.
“She's going to be fine, we got it all and we will run tests tomorrow and if she is cancer free, we won't need to do chemo, she's getting settled into a room now, and I heard about Hayley and I'm sorry for your loss,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Thank you, I need to be with my wife,” Luke said. She took him to Karly's room and saw her asleep. He took her hand in his. She woke up and saw him.
“Hey baby,” Luke said.
“Hey what's wrong, what happened?” Karly asked. He sat down and told her the story. She looked at him.
“Oh god no!” Karly said. He took her in his arms and held her as they cried together.
“Eric?” Karly asked.
“I'll get him,” Luke said.
“Just text him, I don't want you leaving me,” Karly said. He sent a text and continued holding her. The door opens and Eric comes in with Austin.
“Come here bro,” Karly said. Eric runs to the bed and hugs her. She holds him as he cries.
“I love you, bro,” Karly said.
“I love you, sis, oh god what am I going to do without her!” Eric said.
“We will take it one day at a time and together as a family,” Karly said. Eric holds her as he cries. Luke joins in.

CHAPTER 306

Luke woke up and saw he was in the waiting room. He looked and saw Hayley standing there.
“Thank god!” Luke said.
“What's wrong?” Hayley asked.
“I dreamt that you were shot and you died,” Luke said.
“Luke, tell me?” Hayley asked. She sat down and he told her about his dream.
“Wow,” Hayley said.
“I'm glad it was a dream, the thought of losing my sister,” Luke said. Hayley smiled and hugged him close.
“I love you, bro,” Hayley said.
“I love you sis,” Luke said.
“Excuse me?” Mark asked.
“Mark what are you doing here?” Luke asked. He got up and stood in front of Hayley and put his hand on his gun.
“Dad, stop,” Marcus said.
“No, I want to know who put their hands on my daughter?” Mark asked.
“Hayley did in defense to me because your daughter was trying to seduce me, she was throwing herself at a happily married man,” Luke said.
“There weren't any marks on her when I let her go, I barely put any pressure on her arms,” Hayley said.
“Obviously, your daughter is trying to make it seem worse than it is,” Luke said.
“Dad I told you,” Marcus said.
“No, what did she say?” Alex asked.
“Yeah, we would like to hear what she is saying because it is obviously different than what happened,” Kevin said.
“She came home and said she was beaten by one of you, there was bruises on her arms,” Mark said.
“Marcus?” Luke asked.
“I saw one of my men grab her arms tight, I asked him about it and he said she paid him to do it so she can have our father come after you all,” Marcus said.
“Unbelievable,” Alex said.
“Mark, do you really want to go head to head with me?” Luke asked.
“No, let's go Marcus, time to have a chat with your sister and some tough love along with it,” Mark said. They left. Luke looked at Hayley.
“Any word on my wife?” Luke asked.
“Not yet,” Hayley said.
“What is taking so long!” Luke said.
“I'm going to find out,” Austin said. He went to the nurses’ station and spoke with the nurse and came back.
“They are finishing up now, Dr. Reagan will be out soon,” Austin said.
“I should call Mom and see how my princess is doing,” Luke said. He called his mom and she told him that Isabella was fine. She had a bottle and was sleeping as were the boys.
“How's my little niece?” Hayley asked.
“She's sleeping soundly along with her brothers,” Luke said.
“You are happy to have your baby girl huh,” Hayley said.
“Yep,” Luke said. Dr. Reagan came out and looked at all of them. Luke stood there with Hayley beside him. Eric and Austin stood with them. Everyone else stood behind them.
“Doc?” Luke asked.
“We got it all, Luke, but her left breast is going to look smaller than her right one,” Dr. Reagan said.
“It's okay, as long as she ends up cancer free, it doesn't matter,” Luke said.
“Once she's healed, we can look at options,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Like what exactly?” Luke asked.
“A breast reduction,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I will talk with her and see what she wants,” Luke said.
“You may go see her now, Luke,” Dr. Reagan said. He nodded and walked back with her to Karly's room and saw her lying there asleep. He sat down and took her hand in his.
“I love you baby so much,” Luke said. He kissed her hand and watched her sleep.

CHAPTER 307

Luke had fallen asleep and woke up to crying. He looked and saw Karly crying.
“Baby?” Luke asked.
“Luke, look at me, they are different,” Karly said.
“I know, it will be okay, there are options, you can have surgery on the other one to match so they look the same,” Luke said.
“You think I look ugly!” Karly said.
“No no baby, of course not, you are beautiful as always, you always will be to me, I love you so much,” Luke said.
“You love me?” Why did a nurse come in here telling me you seduced her!” Karly said.
“What?” But I didn't...that bitch!” Luke said.
“What's going on?” Austin asked.
“That witch was here,” Luke said.
“What?!” Austin said.
“I guess she came in while I was asleep and told my wife here that I seduced her,” Luke said.

“I need to call Marcus,” Luke said.
“Why?” Karly asked.
“She's his baby sister,” Luke said. Luke told her what had happened while she was in surgery.

“It's okay baby, really, she looks so innocent that no one would believe it, that's why she was able to manipulate her father,” Luke said. He went out and called Marcus and told him what happened. He walked to the nurses’ station. He asked about Nurse Britt Ashby.
“I knew you couldn't stay away,” Britt said.
“Maybe I should just let my sister finish what she started earlier, you don't learn anything do you,” Luke said.
“You want me, I know it,” Britt said.
“You are delusional, I want no one but my wife,” Luke said.
“She's incomplete now, you won't want her after you see her after she's healed,” Britt said.
“You are insane to think that I would ever want you, I love my wife and I will love her and want her until the day I die, regardless of her surgery, she is still more beautiful than you,” Luke said.
“Are you serious, Britt, are you that obsessed that you would bother a woman who just came out of surgery,” Marcus said.
“You called my brother,” Britt said.
“And I'm with him,” Mark said.
“Daddy,” Britt said.
“Were you not listening, Brittany, stay away from him, he's married and off limits, I really don't want our family going against his, that would be breaking the treaty and there would be wars and casualties and it will be all on you,” Mark said.
“I don't care I want him!” Britt said.
“That's it,” Marcus said.
“Sorry baby, but you left us no choice,” Mark said.
“What?” Britt said.
“We are checking you into the mental ward, you have gone insane,” Marcus said. He grabbed her and dragged her off.
“I'm sorry Luke about her, how's Karly?” Mark asked.
“She's okay but was upset about what your daughter said to her,” Luke said.
“My daughter won't bother you all again, I promise you that, she is in for an indefinite stay at the mental hospital,” Mark said. They shook hands and he left, and Luke went back to Karly's room. Austin was holding her as she cried.
“Baby?” Luke asked.
“Where were you?” Karly asked.
“Taking care of the witch, she's on her way to the mental ward,” Luke said.
“Wow seriously?” Austin asked.
“She didn't care that she would start a war,” Luke said.
“She wanted you that badly,” Karly said.
“She was obsessed, she told me you were incomplete, but I said no, my wife is more beautiful, and I will love her until the day I die,” Luke said.
“I love you too,” Karly said. Luke came over and sat on the bed and moved close and cupped her face in his hands. He rested his forehead against hers.
“You are my life, my heart and soul, my everything, I never want to live without you,” Luke said.
“Same goes for me!” Karly said. He kissed her softly. The kiss deepened. Austin quietly left the room and saw Marcus.
“Hey man,” Austin said.
“Are they okay?” Marcus asked.
“They are good, making out right now,” Austin said.
“Good, we got my sister checked into the mental ward, she's not allowed visitors or phone calls or anything,” Marcus said.
“Good, she was willing to start a war to be with Luke?” Austin asked.
“She was willing to do anything, the treaty has been in place for years, no one wants to break it,” Marcus said.
“Are you still looking for a queen?” Austin asked.
“Yeah, know someone?” Marcus asked.
“My wife's cousin is coming to town, she's trying to find that special someone after her last boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend,” Austin said. Austin showed him a picture of Abby's cousin. Marcus smiled.
“She's gorgeous,” Marcus said.
“Her name is Lauren,” Austin said.
“Beautiful name too,” Marcus said.
“So, she will be in town tomorrow, I can have her come here if you want to meet with her,” Austin said.
“Yes, that will be fine,” Marcus said.
“Okay,” Austin said. They talked some more, and Marcus left. Austin went back in. Karly and Luke were cuddling on the bed.
“Hey Marcus came back, they got his sister checked into the mental ward, she won't be allowed visitors or phone calls and I might have set him up a meeting with Lauren,” Austin said.
“Abby's cousin?” Karly asked.
“Yeah, her ex cheated on her with her best friend and she's looking for that special someone,” Austin said.
“Hopefully, they hit it off then, Marcus seems to be a good guy,” Luke said.
“How's Bella?” Karly asked.
“Mom said she's doing fine,” Luke said.
“I miss my babies,” Karly said.
“Hey I'm here,” Luke said.
“I know you are, I meant the little ones,” Karly said.
“I'm not enough,” Luke said.
“Luke Stone!” Karly said.
“Okay, okay, I will see if they can come visit,” Luke said.
“Thank you handsome,” Karly said.
“Anything for you my love,” Luke said. He leaned down and kissed her softly as he rested his head against hers. Kevin came in. They noticed his eyes were red.
“Kev, what happened?” Austin asked.
“Sam....” Kevin said.

CHAPTER 308

Karly and Luke looked at Kevin as he sat down in the chair.
“Kev?” Karly asked.
“Samantha and I broke up,” Kevin said.
“What!” Karly said.
“What happened?” Luke asked.
“We sat down and talked about the wedding and we went through everything that has happened and she realized that she's not completely over Alex, that she's still in love with him, so they met to talk and she came back with him and said that they are still in love with each other and they can't let it go, I understand about letting go, it took me two years us breaking up for me to let go,” Kevin said.
“I think that's how long it took me, even though we broke up as friends,” Karly said.
“Sam and I agreed to be friends for the sake of the baby, we agreed to joint custody when the baby is born, Alex said he'll be there as well,” Kevin said.
