Karly sat there wondering what was going on. She heard the front door open and close. Kevin came in with a tray and sat
it down and sat down and handed her a plate.
“Kev what's going on?” Karly asked.
“Dinner,” Kevin said.
“Where did Barbara go?” Karly asked.
“Peter called and needed her to come home to help him with something,” Kevin said.
“What was your phone call about?” Karly asked.
“It was just my mom saying hi,” Kevin said.
“What did you have to pull Barbara into the kitchen for?” Karly asked.
“It's nothing, K, now eat up, babies are probably hungry,” Kevin said. She ate her dinner. He cleaned up the
dishes and the kitchen. She got her phone and saw a message from Drew.
“Oh, great what now,” Karly said. She dialed Drew's number and he picked up after three rings.
“Hey Karly,” Drew said.
“Where's my husband,” Karly said.
“On his way to Miami, he will call when he has the chance,” Drew said.
“He better not be testing me again,” Karly said.
“He isn't, Karly, I swear, something happened at Dev's club and he is going down to help, Sam and I had already came
back when it happened, he wants us handling things up here because Greg went with him,” Drew said.
“When will he be back?” Karly asked.
“If you talk to him, tell him he better call me soon!” Karly said. “I will bye Karly,” Drew said.
She hung up the phone. Kevin came and sat down.
“K?” Kevin asked.
“Something isn't right, why would Dev have Luke fly all the way down there, what is going on,” Karly said. The
front door opened and closed. Austin and Eric came in.
“Hey sis,” Austin said.
“Hey sis,” Eric said.
“Hey guys what's up,” Karly said.
“We are here for you,” Austin said.
“Always,” Eric said.
“What is going on guys?” Karly asked.
“Um...” Eric said.
“Okay he wanted us to be the ones to tell you because we can keep you calm,” Austin said.
“What who?” Karly asked.
“Luke,” Eric said.
“Karly, he's been shot, he's okay, he is in surgery now, it wasn't bad, got hit in the shoulder,” Austin said.
“So, Drew lied to me,” Karly said.
“It was a cover until we could get here to you,” Austin said.
“Kev?” Karly asked.
“That was my phone call, Drew telling me about him getting shot, I told Barbara, she, Peter, and Hayley are there,”
Kevin said.
“He didn't want you to know before we got here, he wanted us to tell you, he's going to be okay,” Eric said.
“How did this happen?” Karly asked.
“It was the yearly meeting between the families, one family got a letter saying that Luke wanted to break the treaty,
the king of the family called him out on it, Luke insisted he didn't want to break the treaty, the guy shot him, the other
kings took the guy's gun and questioned him about who sent the letter, once Luke heard the name he figured out the reason
behind it,” Austin said.
“What was the reason?” Kevin asked.
“Who sent the letter?” Karly asked.
“Mom,” Eric said.
“She sent the letter hoping it would cause a war and all the kings would take Luke out,” Austin said.
“Why would Amy do that?” Kevin asked.
“To get him out of Karly's life and open the path for you, Kev, she wanted Karly back with you because you were the
safer choice, she didn't like Luke being in the mafia and wanted Luke out of the picture,” Eric said.
“Oh god,” Kevin said.
“I can't believe this, I thought she liked Luke,” Karly said.
“She never shown a dislike for him, I think she was hiding her true feelings,” Austin said.
“Exhume her body, make sure it's really her and she didn't fake her death again,” Karly said.
“On it,” Eric said.
“Should we go to the hospital?” Kevin asked.
“Let me call Dr. Reagan,” Austin said. He made the call. Kevin sat next to her and took her in his arms.
“Stay calm beautiful,” Kevin said.
“I am, I just can't believe my mom did this,” Karly said.
“I know, I thought she accepted all this,” Kevin said.
“Let's go but she can't walk at all,” Austin said.
“Got it,” Kevin said. He picked her up and carried her out to the car and they all went to the hospital.
CHAPTER 160
Karly arrived at the hospital with Kevin, Eric, and Austin. Austin got her a wheelchair and Kevin picked her up and sat her
gently down in it and they wheeled her in, and they found Peter, Barbara, and Hayley in the waiting room.
“Karly!” Hayley said.
“Karly, you are supposed to be on bed rest,” Barbara said.
“Would you want to be stuck at home on bed rest when your husband is in the hospital,” Karly said.
“No, I would want to be by his side,” Barbara said.
“Austin cleared it with Dr. Reagan,” Karly said.
“She said as long as Karly doesn't walk at all, it's fine and if anything happens, she's already here at the hospital,”
Kevin said.
“Where's my husband?” Karly asked.
“In recovery, we should be able to see him soon,” Hayley said.
“Mrs. Stone?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, how is he?” Karly asked.
“He's going to be just fine, we got him in a room if you want to go to him,” the doctor said.
“Thank you, Kev, can you?” Karly asked.
“Of course,” Kevin said. He wheeled her after the doctor as they went to the room where Luke was. He wheeled
her in and saw him lying there with his shoulder bandaged up and arm in a sling. Luke looked and saw them.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“You okay?” Karly asked.
“I'm fine baby, it wasn't bad,” Luke said.
“Okay then, Kevin, can you hit him for me,” Karly said.
“What Karly,” Luke said.
“Karly,” Kevin said.
“I can't hit him and he deserves it for keeping this from me, having Drew tell me he's out of town when he's really
here in the hospital after being shot, I am tired of being kept in the dark about everything,” Karly said.
“Karly, the babies, you are on bed rest and the pregnancy is high risk and I knew you would get upset and I wanted
you to stay calm and relaxed,” Luke said.
“Blah blah blah, stop treating me like a child who can't handle the truth, we are married, Luke, stop treating me with
kid gloves and treat me like your partner, your equal, I'm not fragile, everyone keeps saying how strong I am but you treat
me like I'm weak, I can handle the truth, don't you dare keep anything from me again, Luke Stone or your ass is out the door,”
Karly said.
“Okay, okay, I'm sorry,” Luke said.
“Okay now be a good boy and let Kevin smack you upside the head for me, you still deserve it,” Karly said.
“Fine,” Luke said. Kevin comes and smacks him upside the head.
“Ow!” Luke said.
“Big baby,” Karly said.
“Okay so how come you are here and not at home on bed rest where you should be,” Luke said.
“Austin cleared it with Dr. Reagan, as long as she's carried or in a wheelchair, it's fine,” Kevin said.
“You better figure out something, Kevin, you are muscle man at the house until I'm healed,” Luke said.
“I'll talk to Hayley,” Kevin said.
“Talk to me about what?” Hayley asked. She came in with Austin, Eric, Peter, and Barbara.
“About me and Karly needing Kevin to stick around home, I can't lift anything or carry Karly around since she's not
allowed to walk,” Luke said.
“Sorry Hayley,” Kevin said.
“I can have Matt and Dana help me around the agency,” Hayley said.
“Paperwork?” Eric asked.
“I guess I'll have to do it all by myself,” Hayley said.
“I'll come help you honey, just have to show me what to do,” Barbara said.
“Okay guys, I know some just got in here but it's time to go, so my patient can rest,” the doctor said.
“Okay take it easy bro,” Austin said.
“Bye bro,” Eric said.
“Love you bro,” Hayley said.
“Bye son,” Peter said.
“Love you honey,” Barbara said.
“Love you guys,” Luke said. They went out the door leaving Kevin and Karly alone with Luke.
CHAPTER 161
Karly looked at Luke and then at the doctor.
“Okay when can he go home?” Karly asked.
“I would like to keep him overnight to make sure there is no infection on his shoulder, if it doesn't happen then he
can go home tomorrow,” the doctor said.
“Great, since I'm on bed rest, I can't stay,” Karly said.
“I'm sorry baby,” Luke said.
“Yeah yeah, whatever, Kev, take me home,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“Get some rest,” Karly said.
“Karly, I love you,” Luke said.
“Uh-huh, shouldn't have lied, let's go Kev,” Karly said. He wheeled her out to the waiting room where Austin
was waiting. They got her out to the car and got her in and took the chair back inside and went to the house and Kevin carried
Karly in and upstairs to bed and got her settled and Kevin went downstairs.
“Abby is with her parents and asleep already, so I'll go stay with Luke and bring him home tomorrow,” Austin
said.
“All right man, I got this, she's pissed at him,” Kevin said.
“Yeah but they will be okay, just needs time,” Austin said. Austin left and Kevin locked up and went upstairs
and checked on Karly. She was lying there.
“You okay beautiful,” Kevin said.
“Stay in here with me Kev, so I won't have to yell for you if I need something,” Karly said. He came and settled
on the bed next to her on top of the covers while she was under them and they went to sleep. The next morning, she woke up
and saw Kevin asleep. She woke him up.
“Morning beautiful,” Kevin said.
“Bathroom,” Karly said. He got up and stretched and picked her up and carried her into the bathroom and sat
her down on the chair and left the bathroom to let her do her business. He came back after she was decent, and he helped
her wash her hands and carried her back to the bed and got her settled.
“Breakfast?” Kevin asked.
“Yes please,” Karly said.
“Coming right up,” Kevin said. He went downstairs to make breakfast. She got her phone and saw a message from
Luke.
“I love you, baby, more than anything, I'm sorry for everything, am I allowed to come home?” Luke texted.
“Yes, but I'm still pissed at you,” Karly texted.
“So am I banished to another room or am I allowed in ours,” Luke texted.
“Ours but whether I speak to you is the question,” Karly texted.
“Karly, I'm sorry, I love you, I didn't want you getting upset, I wanted to protect you and our boys, I know you would
freak and I wanted to prevent that, I'm sorry baby,” Luke texted.
“Whatever,” Karly texted. She turned off her phone and laid there.
CHAPTER 162
Kevin came in with breakfast and she ate it and he took the tray back down and came back.
“What's wrong beautiful,” Kevin said.
“I hate myself,” Karly said.
“What why?” Kevin asked.
“For being mad at Luke when all he wanted to do was protect me and keep me calm,” Karly said.
“It's okay, he loves you anyways,” Kevin said.
“Can I blame the hormones?” Karly asked.
“Sure, let's blame the hormones,” Kevin said.
“Find out when he can come home,” Karly said.
“I'm home baby,” Luke said. Austin helps Luke into the bedroom, and he sits on the bed and pushes his shoes
off and looks at her.
“What's wrong baby?” Luke asked.
“I'm sorry I got mad,” Karly sad.
“I understand why you did,” Luke said.
“I know you just wanted to protect me and keep me calm and all that,” Karly said.
“Baby it's okay, really, I love you no matter what,” Luke said.
“I better get going, need to see my wife,” Austin said.
“Love you bro,” Karly said. Austin came over and hugged her and kissed her forehead.
“Love you too sis,” Austin said. He went out the door.
“There is something I should tell you,” Karly said.
“What is it baby?” Luke asked.
“Luke, Karly asked me to sleep in here last night,” Kevin said.
“What!” Luke said.
“Nothing happened, I slept under the covers and he slept on top of the covers,” Karly said.
“We didn't even touch,” Kevin said.
“I can't believe this, why?” Luke asked.
“You weren't here and if I needed to go to the bathroom, I didn't want to call him to carry me in there,” Karly
said.
“You carried her into the bathroom!” Luke said.
“How else was she going to get in there, I carried her in, sat her in the chair and walked out to let her do what she
needed to do and when she was done, she called and I helped her wash her hands and carried her back to bed, not once did I
see or do anything inappropriate,” Kevin said.
“I need to get out of here,” Luke said.
“Luke, nothing happened I swear, he was just being a friend and helping out like you asked!” Karly said.
“But sleeping in my bed when there is a couch over there!” Luke said.
“He is too tall for that and it's uncomfortable to sleep on for a tall person,” Karly said.
“So, it's more comfortable to sleep in my bed with my wife,” Luke said.
“Luke, I told you that I would never cross that boundary and I haven't, and I won't,” Kevin said.
“Luke please,” Karly said.
“I need some air!” Luke said. He went out the door. Kevin sat on the couch. Karly laid back and stared at
the ceiling.
“I should have stayed in my room last night,” Kevin said.
“Yeah, I shouldn't have asked you to stay in here, I just thought I was saving time and all,” Karly said.
“Maybe I should look for an apartment of my own,” Kevin said.
“If that's what you want to do,” Karly said.
“I think it's for the best,” Kevin said.
“Maybe wait until he is healed so he can be my muscle,” Karly said.
“All right I'll be in my room,” Kevin said. He went out the door and Karly laid there staring at the ceiling
rubbing her stomach.
CHAPTER 163
Karly laid there in bed staring at the ceiling when she heard footsteps coming to the door and she looked and saw Eric come
into the bedroom.
“Sis what's going on?” Eric asked.
“What,” Karly said.
“Luke came to the house saying that he's staying for awhile,” Eric said.
“Oh, great he's left me,” Karly said.
“Sis,” Eric said.
“Go on back, everyone's leaving me,” Karly said.
“What,” Eric said.
“Kevin's moving out as soon as he finds a place,” Karly said.
“What happened sis?” Eric asked.
“Nothing happened, Luke had to stay overnight at the hospital and I was in bed and Kevin slept on the bed with me,
but I was under the covers and he was on top of them, we weren't cuddled together or anything, completely innocent and Luke
goes ballistic,” Karly said.
“Oh sis,” Eric said.
“I don't know how many times I have to say that I love Luke and he's the only one for me and that me and Kevin are
just friends and nothing more,” Karly said.
“Mom is talking to him,” Eric said.
“I can't do this, I'm tired of sounding like a broken record, pack me a bag,” Karly said. She got her phone
and sent a text and got a reply.
“Sis,” Eric said.
“Get Kevin to take me to my dad's house,” Karly said.
“Sis are you leaving him?” Eric asked.
“He left first,” Karly said.
“All right,” Eric said. He packed her a bag and went to get Kevin and they came back and Kevin picked her up
and carried her downstairs and to the car and took her to Rick's house and he carried her up to the door and Angela had it
open for them.
“Hey Angela,” Kevin said.
“Hi Kevin, just sit on the couch, Ethan or Kenny can carry her up to the bedroom when I get it ready,” Angela
said.
“Okay,” Kevin said.
“Thank you,” Karly said.
“It's okay honey, you are always welcome here,” Angela said.
“I should go into work then, see you K,” Kevin said.
“Thanks Kev,” Karly said. Kevin left and Angela sat down beside her and hugged her. Karly broke down crying.
Ethan and Kenny came in and saw them.
“Sis?” Ethan asked.
“What's going on?” Kenny asked.
“Long story, she's going to stay for a little while, sit with her while I go make up the guest room,” Angela
said. Ethan and Kenny sat with Karly and hug her while Angela goes to get the room ready.
“Sis what happened?” Kenny asked. She told them what was going on.
“We can go talk to him,” Ethan said.
“No Eric went to talk to him, Barbara was already talking with him,” Karly said. Rick came in the door and saw
them.
“Karly sweetheart,” Rick said.
“Dad!” Karly said. Ethan and Kenny move and Rick sat down and took her in his arms. She told him what happened.
“You stay here as long as you want,” Rick said.
“Thanks Dad,” Karly said. She rested against him as he held her close.
CHAPTER 164
Karly woke up the next morning and looked around and saw she was in a bedroom at her father's house. She got her phone and
saw no messages from anyone. There was a knock at the door. It opened and Eric came in with Austin.
“Hey sis,” Eric said.
“Hey sis,” Austin said.
“Hey,” Karly said.
“We talked to Luke,” Eric said.
“It's over isn't it,” Karly said.
“He won't say, sis,” Austin said.
“He's shut himself down and won't talk to anyone, not even his parents,” Eric said.
“Call Jack I guess,” Karly said.
“Why,” Austin said.
“Isn't it obvious, my marriage is over,” Karly said.
“No one said that, Karly,” Eric said.
“I'm stuck on bed rest, I can't go fight for my marriage, I can't beg for forgiveness because I can't go to him without
someone having to carry me, I did nothing wrong, so what if my ex was in the bedroom and on the bed, nothing happened, I would
never cheat, I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself,” Karly said.
“Karly please stay calm,” Eric said.
“I'm trying but it's hard when your husband walks out without listening or hearing me out,” Karly said.
“I got a call from Kevin, he's got himself a place near the agency so he's moved out, you can go home,” Austin
said.
“To an empty house no thanks,” Karly said.
“No, we talked with Dad, Ethan and Kenny are going to stay with you,” Eric said.
“I can't be in that house without Luke,” Karly said.
“Sis it's your home,” Austin said.
“No, it's my home with my husband but if he doesn't want to be there anymore, neither do I,” Karly said.
“Karly,” Eric said.
“No,” Karly said.
“When is your next doctor's appointment?” Austin asked.
“Crap in an hour,” Karly said.
“We will take you,” Eric said. They helped her get ready and they carried her out to the car and they went to
the doctor for her appointment. She laid there in the room. Dr. Reagan came in.
“Hello Karly,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Hi,” Karly said.
“How have you been doing?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“Not so well, I mean I have been doing the bed rest, it's just other things going on,” Karly said.
“Is everything okay?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“I don't know anymore,” Karly said.
“Let's see how the babies are doing shall we,” Dr. Reagan said. She put the gel on her stomach and they saw
the babies on the screen and she turned on the sound and they heard the heartbeats.
“Their heartbeats are stronger than they were before you went on bed rest, I may have been wrong,” Dr. Reagan
said.
“What do you mean?” Karly asked.
“I'm going to start letting you come off bed rest, slowly like you can walk around for at least two hours a day to
start and if nothing happens, we can go more time on your feet,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I will do whatever it takes for my sons,” Karly said.
“Okay then, I don't want the two hours to be straight, let it be an hour here and an hour there,” Dr. Reagan
said.
“All right thanks doc,” Karly said.
“If you have any more pains or issues, you call or come see me right away okay?” Dr. Reagan said.
“Okay thanks doc,” Karly said.
“Thanks doc,” Austin said.
“Thank you,” Eric said. They helped her out to the car and she looked at the time.
“Okay I have forty-five minutes, go to the agency on the way back to Dad's,” Karly said. They went to the agency.
CHAPTER 165
Karly walked into the agency with Austin and Eric and walked into the office and saw Hayley and Kevin sitting there doing
paperwork.
“Karly!” Hayley said.
“Karly?!” Kevin said.
“Hey guys,” Karly said.
“She is allowed two hours a day on her feet, so we have thirty minutes for this hour before she is to get off her feet,”
Austin said.
“I think one of the hours you need to go talk to that husband of yours,” Hayley said.
“Why,” Karly said.
“Karly, are you really giving up on the marriage,” Hayley said.
“It seems he's the one who gave up by coming to stay at your house and leaving me alone, Kevin moved out,” Karly
said.
“He told me and I told Luke, no response,” Hayley said.
“If he isn't talking to his mom or sister, he probably won't want to talk to me either,” Karly said.
“He's not talking to anyone in the house,” Hayley said.
“I don't know what to do anymore, I give up trying to explain that nothing happened, and nothing was going to happen,”
Karly said.
“So where are you staying” Hayley asked.
“My dad's, I can't be in that house, it's not home without him,” Karly said.
“Time is almost up, sis,” Austin said.
“Okay, I just came to check on things,” Karly said.
“Take care sis, I'll keep working on getting him to come around to talk to you,” Hayley said.
“It's up to you, I'm just tired of telling him over and over again so I just going to concentrate on these guys,”
Karly said. She rubs her stomach. She waved at them and they headed down to the car and they went to Rick's house and helped
her up to the bedroom she was staying in.
“Thanks bros,” Karly said.
“You're welcome sis, love you,” Eric said.
“Love you sis,” Austin said.
“Love you guys,” Karly said. Austin and Eric left and Karly laid there staring at the ceiling. Her phone beeped
and she looked and saw a message from Luke.
“We should talk,” Luke texted.
“Why bother, you made things pretty clear,” Karly texted.
“Karly please,” Luke texted.
“Why all the sudden you want to talk when you walked out,” Karly texted.
“I was angry,” Luke texted.
“Well you will have to come out of your cave and come to me because I can't come to you,” Karly texted.
“Where are you?” Luke texted.
“My dad's,” Karly texted.
“I'm on the way,” Luke texted. Rick and Angela came in.
“Sweetheart?” Rick asked.
“Luke is coming to talk,” Karly said.
“That's a good sign, right?” Angela asked.
“I guess so,” Karly said.
“We will let him in when he gets here,” Rick said.
“Dinner?” Angela asked.
“Yes please,” Karly said. She laid there looking at the ceiling.
CHAPTER 166
Karly sat up in bed rubbing her stomach waiting for Luke to come over.
“I don't know what's going to come of this, boys, I hope things will work out,” Karly said. She heard footsteps
coming up the stairs and the door opened and Luke stood there. He came over and sat on the bed.
“Hey,” Luke said.
“Hey,” Karly said.
“Austin and Eric told me about the appointment, I'm sorry I missed it,” Luke said.
“There will be more,” Karly said.
“They said you can walk around for two hours a day,” Luke said.
“Yep,” Karly said.
“Have you done the two hours already?” Luke asked.
“One hour, she didn't want the hours together she wanted them spread out,” Karly said.
“How about we go home and work things out,” Luke said.
“What,” Karly said.
“I wasn't leaving you for good, Karly, I just needed some space and time to think and then I was coming home, I should
have told your brothers that,” Luke said.
“You weren't really talking to anyone,” Karly said.
“I was too busy thinking,” Luke said.
“I know it was wrong to have Kevin in the bedroom on the bed with me, I thought it would be easier to have him in the
room instead of texting him or calling him when I had to go to the bathroom right away, I'm sorry for that, I have told you
that I would never cheat on you or anything,” Karly said.
“I know, I just got angry that he was there in my spot on the bed,” Luke said.
“I'm know, I'm sorry never again, if he comes over for any reason, couch for him,” Karly said.
“He didn't have to move out, I can't carry you still,” Luke said.
“Got a plan for that,” Karly said.
“Ethan and Kenny will be going to stay with you guys until you are healed,” Rick said.
“See I got two brothers to help out,” Karly said.
“What about when they are at school?” Luke asked.
“Their classes are at different times so one of them will be there when the other isn't,” Rick said.
“We got it worked out,” Ethan said.
“Thanks guys,” Luke said.
“We are family,” Kenny said.
“Okay let's go home,” Luke said.
“Okay, I'll walk my last hour of the day,” Karly said. She got up and Kenny got her bag and his and they helped
her out the door and down the stairs with Luke following. They got into their cars and Luke got into his after helping Karly
into it. They went home. Ethan and Kenny helped Karly inside and got her settled on the couch.
“Thanks guys, you can pick out rooms to stay in, any of them up the stairs to the right,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Kenny said. They went upstairs and picked their rooms. Luke sat down next to Karly and took her hand
in his.
“I'm glad to be home,” Luke said.
“I'm glad to be home with you,” Karly said.
“We are not giving up on us, I won't let that happen,” Luke said.
“Me either,” Karly said.
“Austin thought you were,” Luke said.
“I was just tired of saying the same thing over and over again,” Karly said.
“I know you would never cheat on me,” Luke said.
“It's okay to have exes as friends, I mean Nicole was a fling and she became a friend, right?” Karly asked.
“Yes,” Luke said.
“Did Hayley tell you I stopped by the agency today?” Karly asked.
“Yes, she did and if you want to spend an hour there a day, we can,” Luke said.
“I might go once a week,” Karly said.
“Okay,” Luke said.
“We need to talk about that meeting and my mom's letter,” Karly said.
“I know,” Luke said.
“I told Austin and Eric to exhume her body to make sure she didn't fake her death again,” Karly said.
“We did,” Eric said. Austin and Eric came in just as Ethan and Kenny came downstairs.
CHAPTER 167
Austin and Eric stood there as Ethan and Kenny sat down.
“Hey guys,” Kenny said.
“What's up,” Ethan said.
“Umm,” Austin said.
“Did Mom and Dad talk to you guys?” Eric asked.
“About what?” Ethan asked.
“Luke's main job,” Eric said.
“That he's in the mafia, yeah,” Kenny said.
“We didn't blab about it,” Ethan said.
“Dad asked us to keep quiet about it,” Kenny said.
“Luke was shot in the shoulder at the yearly meeting with all the mafia kings in the city, one got a letter from our
mom,” Austin said.
“What,” Ethan said.
“What did it say?” Kenny asked.
“That Luke wanted to break the treaty and start a war,” Karly said.
“Our mom was hoping the kings would band together and take Luke out,” Eric said.
“Oh god,” Ethan said.
“What would she do that?” Kenny asked.
“To get me out of Karly's life so she can get back with Kevin because he was the safer choice,” Luke said.
“What happened to the guy who shot you?” Ethan asked.
“He apologized for shooting me without listening to my explanation first,” Luke said.
“So he did the shoot first ask questions later bit,” Kenny said.
“Yep,” Luke said.
“Anyways Karly asked us to exhume our mom's body to make sure she didn't fake her death again,” Austin said.
“Well?” Karly asked.
“The body was there, and the dna test matched us, she's really dead,” Eric said.
“She must have sent it before she died and the guy waited until the meeting to confront you,” Karly said.
“How did she know who to send it to?” Ethan asked.
“I'll call another meeting to get answers,” Luke said.
“Luke, we want to be there,” Austin said.
“We want answers too,” Eric said.
“All right I'll get it set up,” Luke said. He made some calls.
“Tomorrow at one,” Luke said.
“Okay,” Austin said.
“I have meetings, but I will reschedule them,” Eric said.
“You guys better be safe, I don't want you keeping anything from me this time, no saying you are going on trips when
you are really in the hospital,” Karly said.
“I promise baby,” Luke said.
“We promise sis,” Austin said.
“Yeah,” Eric said.
“Anyways who wants dinner?” Luke asked.
“Eric and I will go home to our wives to have dinner with them, see ya tomorrow,” Austin said. Austin and Eric
hugged Karly and left.
“Pizza,” Karly said.
“Okay, guys, pizza good?” Luke asked.
“Yep,” Ethan said.
“Yep,” Kenny said. Luke made the call and they waited for it.
CHAPTER 168
The next day, it was time for Luke to go to the meeting with Austin and Eric. Ethan was with Karly until Kenny came home
and then would be with Karly while Ethan went to class.
“I don't know how long this will take, hopefully not very long,” Luke said.
“And you will call if you end up in the hospital or one of my brothers,” Karly said.
“Yes I promise one of us will call if one of us ends up in the hospital,” Luke said.
“Hopefully it won't come to that,” Austin said.
“Let's hope not,” Eric said.
“Let's get going, take care of her, Ethan,” Luke said.
“I will,” Ethan said. Luke leaned down and kissed Karly.
“I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you too, please be careful, all three of you please,” Karly said.
“We will sis,” Eric said.
“We will look out for each other,” Austin said. They went out the door. Karly looked at Ethan.
“Can you get the remote bro?” Karly asked.
“Yeah,” Ethan said. He got it and sat down and she turned on the tv and flipped through the channels and found
a movie on the Hallmark channel.
“What is this called?” Ethan asked.
“It's called Love in The Sun, one of my faves,” Karly said.
“Sis watches this channel, I think I saw bits of this movie,” Ethan said. The front door opened and closed and
Danielle and Laura came in.
“Karly hi, how are you doing?” Danielle asked.
“I'm doing okay, not on strict bed rest anymore, I can walk around for two hours each day,” Karly said.
“That is fantastic news,” Laura said.
“You guys met my brother Ethan, right, he and our other brother Kenny are staying with us to help out until Luke is
healed from his injury,” Karly said.
“What happened to him?” Laura asked.
“There was a minor disagreement with him and some other guy and Luke got shot in the shoulder but he's okay, just can't
lift me around when I'm not able to walk,” Karly said.
“It's nice to meet you, Ethan, I'm Danielle, one of the housekeepers here and this is Laura, she's the cook, we will
get to work,” Danielle said.
“Could you change the sheets in their bedrooms, I didn't get to do it when they came to stay, I'm sure they are dusty
or not fresh,” Karly said.
“They are fine sis, actually me and Kenny changed the sheets when we got here, we found the linen closet, Mom taught
us how to change our sheets,” Ethan said.
“Okay never mind then,” Karly said.
“Where are the old sheets?” Danielle asked.
“Hamper in the bathroom,” Ethan said.
“I'll start laundry then,” Danielle said.
“Ethan did Mom teach you about laundry too?” Karly asked.
“Yes,” Ethan said.
“I'll just do the sheets then,” Danielle said.
“Thank you, Danielle,” Karly said.
“You're welcome Karly,” Danielle said. Laura went into the kitchen while Danielle went upstairs. Kenny came
home and Ethan left for class.
“Everything okay sis?” Kenny asked.
“Just worried about my husband and our older brothers,” Karly said.
“They will be okay, they will watch each other's back,” Kenny said.
“I hope so,” Karly said. The door opened and closed and Kevin and Hayley came in.
“Hey guys,” Karly said.
“The models refuse to work until you come back to the office,” Hayley said.
“We told them you were on modified bed rest and would come in for an hour one day every week, they still refuse,”
Kevin said.
“I can't believe this, Kenny, can you get my phone out of the bedroom,” Karly said. He ran up and came back
and she sent a group text to all the models to come to the house for a meeting.
“Karly,” Kevin said.
“I have the models coming here for a meeting,” Karly said.
“Should Luke be here for it?” Hayley asked.
“If he gets back soon, he's at that meeting with Austin and Eric,” Karly said.
“I hope they are okay,” Hayley said.
“Me too,” Karly said. Kevin sat down next to Karly.
“Luke told me you didn't have to move out,” Karly said.
“I thought it was for the best,” Kevin said.
“Why,” Karly said.
“Look what happened, K, he got mad because I slept in the bedroom while he was at the hospital,” Kevin said.
“He's calmed down about that,” Karly said.
“I will come stay when needed but I think it's best I have a place of my own,” Kevin said.
“Okay okay, I was just saying,” Karly said.
“We are still best friends, K, can't get rid of me that easily,” Kevin said.
“Kevin, you are family,” Hayley said.
“Yes, you are,” Karly said.
“Okay okay,” Kevin said. The door opened and closed and Luke, Austin, and Eric came in and stood there looking
at them.
