Karly stood on the front step looking at Luke and Detective Rames talking.
“Dammit!” Luke said.
“We know who they all are and we will be setting a trap for them, we will get that shipment back, I wanted to let you
know so you can have someone watching over the undercover operation we will have going, who do you trust of your people?”
Detective Rames asked.
“Drew, Sam, and Greg, me and my brother-in-law recently joined our families and we do the same business so I know his
men are trustworthy,” Luke said.
“It's not your men or his, it's dirty cops, there is a small group of greedy cops who want money and power, we just
need to get the evidence and set a trap, I will be in touch, Luke, we will find what they stole,” Detective Rames said.
“If they haven't sold it off yet,” Luke said.
“We will find out who they sold it to,” Detective Rames said. Casey came out with Becca and saw them talking.
“Sis?” Casey asked.
“Go join them, bro,” Karly said.
“What's going on?” Becca asked.
“Can you go check on my brothers and twins, Becca, please, I need to keep an eye on them,” Karly said.
“Sure,” Becca said. She went inside and Karly saw Luke and Rames filling Casey in on what happened. Rames left
soon after and Luke and Casey came to the door.
“Babe?” Karly asked.
“Casey and I have to go to the warehouse to check everything and see what's going on, you be okay?” Luke asked.
“Yeah, Ethan and Kenny are here to help,” Karly said. Becca came out with Casey. They kissed and she left.
Karly hugged and kissed Luke.
“Be careful, babe, I love you,” Karly said.
“I love you baby,” Luke said. She hugged Casey.
“You two look out for each other,” Karly said.
“We will sis,” Casey said. She hugged him and they left. Karly went inside and saw Ethan and Kenny entertaining
the boys. She sat down and watched them.. Three hours later, her phone rang.
“Hello,” Karly said.
“Baby, hey, we need your help,” Luke said.
“Where are you?” Karly asked.
“Police station,” Luke said.
“What! What happened!” Karly said.
“Total misunderstanding and Rames is held up on another case and is trying to get here,” Luke said.
“Where are you?” Karly asked.
“54th Precinct,” Luke said. Luke said.
“I'm on the way, do you need a lawyer?” Karly asked.
“I guess call Jack,” Luke said.
“Okay I love you,” Karly said.
“I love you too baby,” Luke said. She hung up and went inside and told Ethan and Kenny what was going on and
called Jack and got her purse and went to the police station.
CHAPTER 213
Karly arrived at the police station at the same time as Jack and they went in. By the time they got back to where Luke and
Casey were, they saw them talking with Rames. Luke saw her and came over and hugged her.
“What happened?” Karly asked.
“Not here,” Luke said.
“You guys go on, I'll handle things from here, I'm going straight to the top,” Detective Rames whispered. Luke
and Casey nodded and they went out the door.
“Do you guys need me for anything?” Jack asked.
“Come to the house, Jack, we can fill you in on everything,” Luke said. They all went back to the house. Ethan
and Kenny had put the boys to bed. They were in their rooms. Luke and Casey sat down and told Jack everything and told Karly
what happened.
“So the dirty cops planted drugs in the shipments while they were stealing other items,” Karly said.
“Yeah, they weren't smart, they put the drugs in shipments that we haven't inventories yet so they messed up there,
and they didn't use gloves, Rames got fingerprints from the bags and took them to the commissioner,” Luke said.
“So this could be all over soon?” Karly asked.
“Hopefully, and they were stupid enough to use the same drugs that were taken from a drug raid, Rames found the drugs
missing from evidence this morning and they had been logged in last night so another check mark against them,” Casey
said.
“These guys aren't too bright,” Jack said.
“They are bunch of rookies trying to make their way up the ranks faster than usual,” Luke said.
“I will check in on Detective Rames and see what I can do on your behalf, Luke,” Jack said.
“Thanks Jack, appreciate it, I know you are Karly's family lawyer, but I would like you on retainer as my lawyer as
well,” Luke said.
“When you married Karly, I became your lawyer as well, Karly, I might have to have Kevin come help me with some cases,”
Jack said.
“I'm due back to work anyways so he might like a break from the agency,” Karly said.
“Okay I'll give him a call and tell him that I need the help and that you okayed it so I will get things going and
I'll be in touch,” Jack said. Jack shook their hands and left. Karly decided to call Kevin over. He came in and sat
down and they filled him in on what's going on.
“I'll be back to work Monday so you can go work with Jack,” Karly said.
“Okay, I'll talk to him when he calls,” Kevin said.
“Want to stay for dinner?” Karly asked.
“Sure,” Kevin said.
“I'll go cook something since it's Laura's day off if you both listen for the boys,” Karly said.
“If they need to be fed?” Kevin asked.
“You take over the cooking,” Karly said.
“Got it,” Kevin said. Ethan and Kenny came downstairs and hung with the guys while Karly cooked dinner.
“Food's ready, boys!” Karly said. She got everything set out and table set and the guys came in and helped her
get it on the table and they sat down and ate dinner.
CHAPTER 214
That night after Kevin left and Luke locked up and they all headed to bed They checked on the boys and went to their bedroom
where Karly sat down and got out her pump and took off her shirt and started pumping. Luke went and took a shower and came
out wearing just underwear. Karly moaned.
“What baby?” Luke asked.
“I'm busy and all I want to do right now is jump you,” Karly said.
“Aww, you can when you are done, I'll stay like this,” Luke said.
“You better,” Karly said.
“I know we scared you today with that phone call,” Luke said.
“Why are these guys coming after you like this, don't they know you work with the NYPD and sell them the guys and stuff
to keep them ready to protect the city,” Karly said.
“Baby, these guys are dirty cops, all they care about is money and power, they could care less who I am, they want
me to think that I'm not above the law but I never gave anyone that impression, nothing like this has happened in years so
I'm wondering what got it started now,” Luke said.
“Do we know who these cops are?” Karly asked.
“You mean names?” Luke asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“I can have Rames give me the list of names,” Luke said.
“Good, that way we can find out something about them or who they are, maybe I know one of them or something,”
Karly said.
“You don't think they are after me to get to you right?” Luke asked.
“This is just a theory, guys can do crazy things if they see a girl and they like her but find out she's not single
and are willing to do what it takes to get the girl's husband or boyfriend out of the way, anything could happen,” Karly
said.
“So you think one of these guys is obsessed with you and wants me out of the way,” Luke said.
“Anything is possible if they are willing to take out one of the biggest mafia leaders in the city, not to mention
the strongest,” Karly said.
“Are you done pumping yet?” Luke asked.
“Almost why?” Karly asked.
“Because I want you in that bed now!” Luke said. She looked and saw she was finished and got her milk bagged
up and put in the small fridge they had put in the bedroom for the milk and she turned and he was right there and he crushed
his mouth to hers and he removed her pants and underwear and lifted her up and laid her on the bed and removed his underwear
and laid on top of her.
“I love you so much,” Luke said.
“I love you,” Karly said. He slid inside her and she wrapped her legs around him as he went fast and hard.
She came around him as he came emptying inside her body. He laid on top of her.
“I love you, you are mine,” Luke said.
“I love you too, and I'm yours,” Karly said. They went to sleep in each other's arms.
CHAPTER 215
The next morning, Karly woke up and saw Luke awake looking at her. She smiled.
“Morning baby,” Luke said.
“Morning, I was thinking of something,” Karly said.
“What's that,” Luke said.
“A way to find out what their motives are, a test to see if they really want you out of the way to get to me,”
Karly said.
“Like what,” Luke said.
“A fake breakup,” Karly said.
“WHAT!” Luke yelled.
“We fake breaking up, to see if it's me they want, if we break up, whoever wants me may make himself known to us,”
Karly said.
“Karly, why would you want to do this, who knows what they will do, it could be all of them who want you,” Luke
said.
“Luke, what else can we do, huh, what other option is there, if you are in prison, no more guns so that can't be the
reason they want you out of the way because there won't be guns if you are behind bars so they must want something you have,
what is most precious to you,” Karly said.
“Oh god baby!” Luke said. He hugged her close and kissed her head.
“Get Rames here with the list of cops that are dirty and if I don't recognize any of their names, we will figure out
something and sweep the house for you know, dirt,” Karly said. He nods knowing what she's talking about.
“I don't think I can let you go, baby, even if it's fake, I don't think I can do it,” Luke said.
“Let's look at the list first and see and we can come up with something else,” Karly said. An hour later, Luke
swept the house and found nothing. Casey double checked him. Rames came over and used his equipment to sweep the house and
found nothing.
“Here is the list,” Detective Rames said. Karly looked it over and shook her head.
“None look familiar so here is an idea, the cells in the basement at Eric's house, lure them there and lock them in
and we can question them, take their weapons and such,” Karly said.
“Let's do it,” Luke said.
“The commissioner wants their badges so we will film it,” Detective Rames said. They went to work in getting
the cops to the basement without their guns. Peter and Barbara were out of town on a trip and Hayley and the baby were at
Austin's with Abby while Austin and Eric were helping Drew, Sam, and Greg with the cops. They had bags over their heads and
were handcuffed.
“This was peaceful,” Casey said.
“Chief gave the command that they follow my orders and this is what I said to do,” Detective Rames said.
“Only five guys?” Casey asked.
“Yep,” Detective Rames said.
“What's going on here?” Cop 1 asked.
“What's the meaning of this,” Cop 3 said.
“Rames what is going on,” Cop 4 said.
“Where are we?” Cop 5 asked.
“Can we take off the hoods now?” Cop 2 asked. Luke closes the cell and locks it and smiles.
“Now you can,” Detective Rames said. They took off the hoods and looked around and saw they were in a cell.
“You arrested us!” Cop 1 said.
“Why,” Cop 4 said.
“This ain't the police station guys, chill out, we have questions,” Casey said.
“And you will answer them honestly or you won't get out of here,” Luke said.
“If we let them go,” Detective Rames said.
“We can keep them here all night, no one is home upstairs,” Casey said.
“Because I'm down here but I can always move away and just leave them here alone,” Eric said.
“Okay what do you want,” Cop 5 said.
“Why did you plant drugs in my shipments?” Luke asked.
“Truth boys, I know where those drugs came from and they were in that shipment to begin with because it wasn't checked
in yet and no paperwork for the drugs and they have your fingerprints on them,” Detective Rames said.
“Okay I'll talk,” Cop 3 said.
“Dude,” Cop 4 said.
“Crap,” Cop 1 said.
“Oh geez, we are done for,” Cop 2 said.
“They did it for me,” Cop 5 said.
“To get him out of the way,” Cop 3 said.
“Why?” Casey asked.
“Because I wanted his wife for myself,” Cop 5 said.
“You wanted my wife, do you know her?” Luke asked.
“I've seen her around and I found out who she was and that she was your wife and I can't stop thinking about her,”
Cop 5 said.
“She is my wife! She is the mother of my children!” Luke said.
“I know, I was figuring that I could be a father to them,” Cop 5 said.
“You are crazy, you never met her face to face?” Casey asked.
“No he hasn't, we keep telling him he can't have what isn't his and she's married with kids but he's obsessed,”
Cop 3 said.
“We wanted out but he threatened us,” Cop 2 said.
“Even if I was out of the way, she would never be his, I know this,” Luke said. Karly came downstairs and looked
at all of them in the cells.
CHAPTER 216
Karly stood there looking at all of them. She noticed one looking at her like she was his next meal.
“You were right, baby, they were trying to get me out of the way to get to you, this one wants you for himself, sees
himself as stepdad to our boys,” Luke said.
“Oh, he does huh, that's too bad, he's not my type,” Karly said.
“Oh, I could be your type,” Cop 5 said.
“You never would have had a chance with me, and you never will, I don't know you, never met you before and I don't
want to get to know you, get over this sick obsession because it's wasted on me,” Karly said.
“Dude listen to her, she doesn't want you and never will,” Cop 4 said.
“Look at what your plan has done to all of us, we are in the process of losing our badges, is this all worth it for
someone who doesn't want you,” Cop 3 said.
“She'll want me, I know it,” Cop 5 said.
“Rames, forgive me but I'm about to put a bullet in this sicko's head,” Karly said.
“Want to change your mind pal, she's killed a guy before,” Luke said.
“But it was justifiable homicide because of what he did to her,” Austin said.
“The guy she killed, raped and beat her in college, his father paid a judge to throw out the case, so she got justice
for what he did to her, bullet between the eyes, she has good aim, too,” Eric said. Luke handed her his gun. She pointed
it at the cop who was trying to get her.
“Oh god,” Cop 5 said.
“Oh man,” Cop 2 said.
“Not good,” Cop 1 said.
“We were against his plan, he threatened us to cooperate,” Cop 4 said.
“Oh, I heard everything from upstairs,” Karly said.
“Hodges want to continue your downward spiral into nothingness,” Detective Rames said.
“I'm sorry, I won't bother you again, I'll turn in my badge, I'll confess to the commissioner, I'll do anything, just
don't kill me,” Cop 5 said.
“I don't think he can be trusted,” Karly said.
“Nope,” Casey said.
“Rames, what should I do?” Karly asked.
“First, we let the other four go with Austin, Eric, Casey, and Drew to the police station where they will make a full
confession of what they did, but also say they were blackmailed,” Detective Rames said.
“We will do just that, we promise,” Cop 4 said.
“Yes,” Cop 3 said.
“Yes,” Cop 2 said.
“Swear to god,” Cop 1 said. Austin, Eric, Casey, and Drew took the four guys out with the hoods over their heads
and Luke locked up the cell.
“Got a text from Ethan, the boys need me babe, you guys decide what to do here, I just want him to be gone, so make
him disappear or kill him or whatever, because if I see this sicko, he's getting a bullet,” Karly said. She pulled
Luke in for a kiss. They made a show of it and she smiled up at him.
“I'll see you at home, babe,” Karly said.
“See you soon, baby, I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you more,” Karly said. She went upstairs and went home and walked in and saw Ethan and Kenny walking
the babies around.
“I'm here guys,” Karly said.
“Thank goodness, we tried everything, bottle, we changed them,” Ethan said.
“I think they just want Mommy,” Karly said. She took Kingston in her arms and he settled down. She put him down
in the bassinet in the living room and took Jackson and got him settled and put him down.
CHAPTER 217
That evening, Luke and Casey came home. Karly was sitting in the living room with Ethan and Kenny.
“Hey, so what did you guys do?” Karly asked.
“He's dead,” Luke said.
“What?” Karly said.
“Rames killed him,” Casey said.
“Just shot him dead?” Ethan asked.
“No, he got ahold of Sam's gun and shot at us, Rames returned a shot and hit him in the chest, he died instantly, I
think it hit his heart,” Luke said.
“So, no trouble for Rames?” Kenny asked.
“Hopefully not, he's going to turn in a report to the chief and the commissioner,” Luke said.
“So, I guess that's the end of the dirty cops,” Karly said
“Yes, the other four confessed to everything and they will lose their badges and spend some time in jail,” Luke
said.
“So now we can get back to our normal lives,” Casey said.
“I think everyone is right about the boys being mama's boys,” Ethan said.
“They wouldn't stop crying, they had been fed and diapers clean and still crying, Karly comes in and takes Kingston,
he goes to sleep, same with Jackson,” Kenny said.
“Yup, that's why we need a girl so I can be the favorite,” Luke said.
“I told you a year babe,” Karly said.
“I know I know, I can dream right,” Luke said.
“For a year and then we will talk,” Karly said.
“Okay, baby, let's get some food,” Luke said. They went and ate dinner and then sat in the living room and were
watching TV when the doorbell rang. Ethan got up and opened the door and came back with Detective Rames.
“Hey Rames, what did they say?” Luke asked.
“They want someone to be charged with Hodges's death, since I shot the fatal shot, they want to charge me but that
means I have to give up my badge and I'll be fired and disgraced and my family will get nothing, no benefits or anything,”
Detective Rames said.
“So, they want someone to take the fall for you,” Casey said.
“They made a suggestion,” Detective Rames said.
“No, not Luke, no!” Karly said.
“I'll do it, I was there,” Casey said.
“Not you too!” Karly said.
“Casey no,” Luke said.
“Luke, it's better for me than you, you are a father, you have a family who needs you,” Casey said.
“It might work and he might not have to do much time or he might even get off, I'm still working out something,”
Detective Rames said.
“Let me do this for you guys,” Casey said.
“NO!” Karly yelled.
“Sis, it's me or your husband,” Casey said.
“Or I can just accept my fate,” Detective Rames said.
“Oh god!” Karly said. Luke took her in his arms.
“No guys, I'll do it,” Luke said.
“NO!” Karly yelled.
“No Luke,” Kenny said.
“No way,” Ethan said.
“Not happening,” Casey said.
“Luke think about this, please,” Detective Rames said.
“I have to,” Luke said.
“No, Luke, please don't do this,” Karly said. Luke hugged her to him as she sobbed.
“I love you baby,” Luke said.
“If you did, you wouldn't do this!” Karly said crying.
“Luke, I'm doing this okay, you need to be here for my sister and my nephews, I have a better chance of getting out
of this than you, right?” Casey asked.
“He's right, Luke, he has the better chance,” Detective Rames said.
“You weren't there, Casey, you were helping take the four others to the station,” Luke said.
“They never saw me, I stayed in the car,” Casey said.
“I might as well pay for what I did,” Detective Rames said.
“You will lose everything,” Casey said.
“I'm the one who killed him, I should pay for it, my family will understand,” Detective Rames said.
“Unless they said all that to get to Luke knowing you two are friends,” Casey said.
“Tell the commissioner and chief that if I go to prison, no more guns, ammo, or vests, I will cut them off,”
Luke said.
“I told them that, they don't want Luke,” Detective Rames said. He looks at Karly. Luke held Karly close.
“They want Karly to take the fall,” Casey said.
“Over my dead body!” Luke said.
“They can't have her,” Ethan said.
“We all will confess to keep Karly home,” Kenny said.
“Why me?” Karly asked.
“Let me guess, Hodges wasn't the only one who wanted Karly for himself,” Ethan said.
“The chief and commissioner are infatuated with her too?!” Kenny said.
“I don't know for sure, but I'm going to talk to them again and if I can't get through to them, I'm going to the mayor,”
Detective Rames said.
“Do what you have to do, Rames, my wife isn't going down for this,” Luke said.
“And neither are you or my brother, Luke,” Karly said.
“No one should go down for that sicko,” Luke said.
“It should be self-defense, I know he was in a cell and handcuffed but he could have gotten out and he had a gun,”
Casey said.
“I'll be back, guys,” Detective Rames said. He left. Karly leaned against Luke as he held her close to him.
CHAPTER 218
That night they were in bed. Karly laid there with her head on Luke's chest. She had her hand on his stomach stroking it.
He was running his fingers through her hair.
“I don't get it, I never met that guy, I never met the chief or the commissioner, why come after me,” Karly said.
“They want to get to me,” Luke said.
“You have stuff they want, why would they want to jeopardize that,” Karly said.
“Money and power,” Luke said.
“Luke, please, promise me that you won't leave me like ever, no matter what, you do whatever it takes to be here for
me and the boys, we can't lose you,” Karly said.
“I promise baby, I know I scared you with wanting to help Rames, but I promise you that we are stuck together,”
Luke said.
“Okay, let's get some sleep before the boys wake up to eat,” Karly said. They went to sleep. They got up with
the boys once during the night. They went back to sleep. The next morning, they got up and got dressed and went to get the
boys and went downstairs and Karly started to cook breakfast. The doorbell rang. Luke holding Jackson got up and opened
the door and saw Rames. He came in and they went into the kitchen.
“Hi Karly,” Detective Rames said.
“Rames, please say you have good news,” Karly said.
“I do, no one is this house is going to be charged with Hodges's death, the commissioner and the chief reviewed all
statements and they agree it was self-defense, Hodges was armed and he fired a shot at me,” Detective Rames said.
“Thank goodness,” Karly said.
“Thanks, Rames, I'm glad none of us are going down for this,” Luke said.
“They would like a meeting with you next week in the commissioner's office, to formerly apologize for everything and
talk about the shipments and stuff,” Detective Rames said.
“Okay I'll be there,” Luke said.
“They want Karly to come as well to apologize to as well,” Detective Rames said.
“Okay I will because I have stuff to say to them,” Karly said.
“I know and I would do the same if I was in your shoes,” Detective Rames said.
“Thanks for helping us, Rames,” Karly said.
“It was my pleasure and you two are good people, you didn't deserve what was done or going to be done,” Detective
Rames said.
“Have a good day, Rames, and say hello to your wife,” Luke said.
“Maybe we could have a cookout sometime and have you all over,” Karly said.
“I would like that, let me know,” Detective Rames said.
“Okay, man, see you later,” Luke said. He left and Luke hugged Karly. They sat down and ate breakfast. Casey,
Ethan, and Kenny came in and ate breakfast.
“So, who was here?” Kenny asked.
“Detective Rames,” Karly said.
“What's the news?” Casey asked.
“No charges against anyone, self-defense is what they put down,” Karly said.
“Thank god,” Casey said.
“Yes, that's what happened, he got ahold of Sam's gun and fired at Rames, right?” Ethan said.
“Yep,” Luke said.
“I'm glad my brothers and sister aren't going to jail,” Kenny said.
“I'm glad that we can get things back to normal like me going back to work,” Karly said.
“Who is watching the boys while you are at the office?” Casey asked.
“My shadow will be with me and the boys at the office,” Karly said.
“Casey, I'll need you to go help James at the club,” Luke said.
“Got it,” Casey said.
“What about us?” Ethan asked.
“Yeah,” Kenny said.
“Don't you two have classes?” Karly asked.
“Oh right,” Kenny said.
“Yep,” Ethan said.
“Okay, let's all go watch movies,” Karly said. They went to the home theater room and flipped through the list
of movies and settled on one. After it was over, they watched another one. Karly has the guys sit in front of her with Luke
beside her so she could feed the boys without her brothers watching.
