Luke sat in the hospital room with Hayley, Eric, Austin, and Abby. They were all trying to convince her to fight the tumor.
“I don't want to lose my baby!” Hayley said.
“Honey, fight the tumor and we can have a surrogate or try when you beat it,” Eric said.
“The will?” Hayley asked.
“The baby part was for Karly only, her father did that to her,” Luke said.
“Um Luke?” Austin said.
“What,” Luke said. Karly appeared at the door in a wheelchair with Kevin pushing her.
“Karly, what the hell, you brought her here?” Luke said. Kevin held his hands up and looked at Karly.
“I had him bring me here, it's all me,” Karly said.
“Do you want this baby?” Luke asked.
“Of course I do, I am not walking, am I, I'm already at the hospital if anything happens,” Karly said.
“Karly, you didn't have to come, I would have understood why you couldn't be here,” Eric said.
“I wanted to be here because I had an idea,” Karly said.
“What idea is that?” Hayley asked.
“Find someone who will carry your baby for you,” Karly said.
“What,” Eric said.
“You mean take the baby from me and implant it into someone else?” Hayley asked.
“We can do that,” Dr. Reagan said.
“You can?” Hayley asked.
“Yes, but who will be able to, both your sister-in-law’s are pregnant,” Dr. Reagan said.
“I know,” Luke said. He sent a text out and twenty minutes later the door opened, and Ginger came in with Nicole behind her and Anna came in.
“One of them?” Hayley asked.
“Why not?” Luke asked.
“I thought about the models,” Hayley said.
“No, they can't be pregnant with all the photoshoots coming up and I know Henry is planning his show for his bridal collection,” Karly said.
“He texted me the date, January 23rd,” Kevin said.
“Okay, I'll be off bed rest and hopefully back to work,” Karly said.
“So, what's up guys,” Ginger said.
“Yeah,” Nicole said.
“Anything we can help with?” Anna asked.
“Ginger, Anna, Nicole, Hayley has a brain tumor but they can't do anything because she's pregnant and Karly came up with an idea of someone carrying the baby for her, taking the baby and implanting it into someone else to carry the baby to term so Hayley can do chemo,” Luke said.
“And you want one of us?” Ginger asked.
“What do we need to do?” Nicole asked.
“I will help any way I can,” Anna said.
“If you three will come with me, we will run some tests and see who the most compatible person is to carry the child,” Dr. Reagan said. They all left the room. Luke knelt down in front of Karly.
“I know I could have called but I wanted to be here for my brother and your sister, Hayley, Luke told me the things you said,” Karly said.
“I'm sorry, I overreacted,” Hayley said.
“I'm not going to destroy their marriage, Hayley, my relationship with Karly is friendship turn more into a brother/sister kind of one,” Kevin said.
“Even though you slept with her before,” Hayley said.
“It's the past, Luke is my present and future,” Karly said.
“Okay I'm sorry and I am sorry I couldn't do my job and all the paperwork,” Hayley said.
“I hate paperwork too, but it has to be done, I just can't do it by myself,” Karly said.
“I'm sorry I quit,” Hayley said.
“Come back when you are ready,” Kevin said.
“Kevin's in charge while I'm on bed rest and Luke talked to everyone to make sure they know it, he also gave them an out if they couldn't follow Kevin, no one walked out,” Karly said.
“I'm sorry to both of you, I just didn't want my brother getting hurt,” Hayley said.
“He won't, he is my guy,” Karly said.
“Um guys?” Austin said.
“What bro,” Eric said.
“I just got a text from Jack asking us to meet him at his office now,” Austin said.
“Who?” Eric asked.
“You, me, and Karly,” Austin said.
“Karly can't go, she is on bed rest and that's where she's going,” Luke said.
“Luke,” Karly said.
“He's right sis, can't risk anything happening to your baby,” Austin said.
“We will explain it to Jack,” Eric said.
“I'll go in her place,” Luke said.
“I'm going to be alone here,” Hayley said.
“No, I'll be here with you,” Abby said.
“Okay,” Hayley said. Luke stood up and came over to Karly and leaned down and kissed her softly and left with Austin and Eric. Kevin took Karly home and carried her upstairs to bed.

CHAPTER 116

“I hate this, I wonder why Jack wanted them to come to the office,” Karly said.
“It must be important,” Kevin said.
“I wonder if one of the girls will be able to carry Hayley's child,” Karly said.
“For your brother's sake, I hope one of them can,” Kevin said.
“You haven't seen anything related to me and my brothers when you were working at the firm, have you?” Karly asked.
“Nope, Jack kept anything related to you guys to himself, he said it would be a conflict of interest if I did anything related to you guys because of how close I am to you guys,” Kevin said.
“I just hope we can put all this crap with the will and any other surprises that my father had behind us and move on,” Karly said. Her phone beeped and she looked at it.
“K?” Kevin asked.
“It's Abby, Ginger is the only one able to carry Hayley's baby, the test showed she has the best chance and Greg supports her doing it, so they are doing the process now,” Karly said.
“That's good,” Kevin said.
“Yeah but what happens if Hayley goes through all the chemo and nothing changes with the tumor, she could die and not be there for her baby and leave Eric to raise the baby alone,” Karly said.
“Don't think that way yet, just think positive,” Kevin said.
“Okay I'll try, I should get some sleep,” Karly said. They heard the doorbell ring.
“Carry me to the couch,” Karly said. He carried her down to the couch and got her settled in and opened the door.
“Hello, can I help you?” Kevin asked. Karly heard a voice she never thought she would ever hear again.
“I'm looking for Luke Stone,” Darcy said.
“Who wants to know,” Kevin said.
“I'm Darcy, his new lover,” Darcy said.
“IN YOUR DREAMS BITCH!” Karly said.
“I'm sorry but you can't come in, he's not here and his wife clearly doesn't want you here,” Kevin said.
“Kevin, let her in but keep ahold of her,” Karly said. Kevin grabs her arm and pulls her in and closes the door and brings her into the living room and sits her down in a chair. Karly glares at her.
“So, you think you are my husband's lover, you must be dreaming because he would never touch you,” Karly said.
“He has when he was down in Miami for Dev's wedding,” Darcy said.
“OH MY GOD YOU ARE FUCKING INSANE!!” Karly yelled.
“K, calm down,” Kevin said. He grabbed Darcy's hair and yanked it back.
“Why don't you tell the truth and don't even think of moving,” Kevin said.
“Okay okay! It never happened! I came here trying to get with him because he would be happier with me, I thought,” Darcy said.
“He is happy with his wife, she is his everything, he would never touch you if you were the last woman on the planet, you flew all this way to try to get in his pants, never would have worked, you are such a slut, so desperate that you would try to steal another woman's husband,” Kevin said.
“Who are you?” Darcy asked.
“I'm her best friend and also her ex from college but we stayed best friends and I know the boundaries of marriage and that is a line I will never cross unlike you want to,” Kevin said. The front door opened and closed and Luke came in and saw what was going on.
“What the hell happened here,” Luke said.
“She showed up at the door saying she was your new lover and that you two hooked in Miami, but Kev got her to tell the truth,” Karly said.
“Thank you, Kev, now what to do with this witch who can't take the hint that I would never cheat on my wife,” Luke said.
“Please I'll go back to Miami and never bother you all again,” Darcy said.
“Yeah right but we can't trust your word,” Karly said.
“Baby, what should we do about this poor excuse of a woman,” Luke said.
“Let's see, what happened to the last woman who tried to hurt us,” Karly said.
“Okay, she's taking a little trip,” Luke said.
“Please I swear I will not bother you all again,” Darcy said.
“Nope,” Karly said.
“Can't trust her,” Kevin said.
“Baby you will be okay right,” Luke said.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Kev, call Drew and Sam and have them meet us at the main house,” Luke said. Luke and Kevin dragged her out the door.

CHAPTER 117

Karly sat there on the couch. The front door opened and close and Austin and Abby came in.
“Hey sis,” Austin said.
“Hey what happened at Jack's office?” Karly asked.
“Luke didn't tell you?” Austin asked.
“No, when he came home, had a visitor,” Karly said.
“Who was here?” Austin asked.
“Some waitress from Miami from one of the clubs that Luke is now part owner of, she said she could satisfy Luke better than I could, she was trying to seduce him with her eyes so I asked Luke to have Dev fire her, now she showed up here telling Kevin that she was Luke's new lover,” Karly said.
“What!” Austin said.
“Kevin got her to admit that she was lying,” Karly said.
“So where is she now?” Austin asked.
“Luke and Kevin took her to the main house,” Karly said.
“Is she going to suffer the same fate as Amber?” Austin asked.
“I may have implied it,” Karly said.
“Karly!” Austin said.
“Austin, this woman is a bitch, she can't be trusted,” Karly said.
“I just do not want to have to cover for anyone,” Austin said.
“Well you won't have to since I do not know what they are doing with her,” Karly said.
“Austin,” Abby said.
“What did Jack want?” Karly asked.
“A letter from Mom that got misplaced and it got out into someone else's files and they were sorting through all the files and found it and called us because it was to be opened at a certain date,” Austin said.
“What did it say?” Karly asked.
“Mom knew what Dad was planning in his will, about us getting married in order to get the money,” Austin said.
“What and she was okay with it,” Karly said.
“You knew how Dad was, she had no control over him,” Austin said.
“What did she say,” Karly said.
“She made it her wish that the guy you marry was to be Kevin, she knew Dad had a part of you two breaking up and wanted to make it right by making you find Kevin and reunite with him,” Austin said.
“Oh we reunited but not the way she thought we would, what did Luke say?” Karly asked.
“He didn't say anything, he just stared at the letter,” Austin said.
“So, I don't have to marry Kevin to get the money, right, it can stay as it is, me married to Luke?” Karly said.
“I asked Jack about that, since it is not in the will, it is not required for you to be married to Kevin,” Austin said.
“Okay,” Karly said.
“I would have hated if we couldn't choose our spouses,” Austin said.
“Me too,” Karly said. The door opened and closed and Luke and Kevin came in.
“So guys, what happened?” Karly asked. Luke and Kevin looked at each other.


CHAPTER 118

“Karly,” Luke said.
“Luke,” Karly said.
“Guys, what did you do with her?” Austin asked.
“You don't have anything to worry about,” Luke said.
“Kev?” Karly asked.
“We had to do it, K,” Kevin said.
“You killed her?” Abby asked.
“We had to, she threatened Karly, said she would come back when we least expected it and kill her, we couldn't let that happen,” Kevin said.
“Oh god,” Karly said.
“I had to do it, baby, I can't live without you,” Luke said. He sat down and took her in his arms.
“How did she go from swearing not to bother us again to threatening to kill me,” Karly said.
“It was like a switch was changed inside her, she was begging and then started laughing,” Luke said.
“It was like Jekyll and Hyde,” Kevin said.
“Drew and Sam are doing cleanup,” Luke said.
“Did you tell Dev?” Karly asked.
“I will when he comes back from his honeymoon,” Luke said.
“What do you think he will say about this,” Karly said.
“I don't know but he would be glad that he fired her,” Luke said.
“She probably figured out that we caused her termination and was coming for revenge,” Karly said.
“She won't get it now,” Luke said.
“I told Karly about the letter,” Austin said.
“Yeah got distracted,” Luke said.
“What did the letter say?” Kevin asked.
“It was from my mom, she knew about the will and that we had to get married to get the money, so her wish was her choice for my husband,” Karly said.
“She picked your husband?” Kevin asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Who?” Kevin asked.
“You, Kev,” Austin said.
“Me?” Kevin asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Oh god,” Kevin said.
“But since it is not in the will, it does not count towards it, so Karly can stay married to Luke and still get the money,” Austin said.
“Unless it is her choice,” Luke said.
“Luke?” Karly asked.
“Karly,” Luke said.
“What are you doing?” Karly asked.
“Luke,” Austin said.
“Are you wanting out of the marriage?” Abby asked.
“Luke man, she's having your baby,” Kevin said.
“I am so sorry baby, I just thought it being your mother's last wish, you would want to honor it,” Luke said. He knelt down in front of her on the couch.
“Maybe if I got the letter before we met, it might have happened but it didn't happen, I married you remember and I fell in love with you and my future is with you,” Karly said.
“I love you,” Luke said.
“I love you, no more doubts, you and me forever,” Karly said.
“Forever is not long enough baby,” Luke said.
“We are going to go home, someone needs rest,” Austin said.
“Her and Karly both,” Luke said. Austin and Abby hugged them and left. Kevin went to his room. Luke carried Karly up to their room and got her settled into bed and laid beside her and held her close as they went to sleep.

CHAPTER 119

Two months later, Karly was at the doctor for her appointment. Luke sat with her.
“Okay, Karly, how are you feeling?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“I want to get back to work, I am tired of being in bed not doing anything,” Karly said.
“Well let's see how your baby is doing shall we?” Dr. Reagan said. She got the ultrasound machine and put the gel on her stomach and they looked at the screen and saw the baby. Karly held Luke's hand as they stared at the screen.
“Doc?” Luke asked.
“Are we really seeing what we think it is?” Karly asked.
“Yes you are, congratulations you two, it's twins!” Dr. Reagan said. She printed them a picture of the babies. Luke stares at it and smiled and kissed her forehead.
“You want to hear their heartbeats,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Yes,” Karly said. They heard the sound come through the speakers and Karly looked at Luke.
“How are we having twins when we don't have any in our family?” Karly asked.
“Sometimes you don't have to have twins in the family to have them now, it could be fate that you would be the first one having them,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Okay so can I go back to work?” Karly asked.
“Yes but not all day, only half days please,” Dr. Reagan said.
“What about sex?” Karly asked.
“You can, just be gentle and not all the time,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Thanks doc,” Luke said. He helped Karly out of the room after making the next appointment and they went home. Kevin came out of the kitchen.
“How did it go?” Kevin asked.
“I can go back to work, just half day and she found something in the ultrasound,” Karly said.
“The baby okay?” Kevin asked.
“The babies are good,” Luke said.
“What? Twins?” Kevin said.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Congrats you two!” Kevin said.
“Thanks Kev,” Karly said.
“Thanks man, you can stay here still if you want to,” Luke said.
“I might have to, I went there this morning and found this on the door,” Kevin said. He handed them a letter and they read it.
“The building was sold and they are kicking everyone out to turn it into an office building!” Karly said.
“Yeah,” Kevin said.
“Okay, get your stuff, you are moving back in here,” Karly said.
“Only until I find another place,” Kevin said.
“No Kev, you can live here,” Luke said.
“Are you sure because I can look for my own place if it's too much,” Kevin said.
“Kevin, shut up and move in,” Karly said.
“Yes ma'am,” Kevin said.
“I'm going to lay down,” Karly said. Luke helped her upstairs and she laid down on the bed and fell asleep.

CHAPTER 120

The next day, Karly was back at work. Kevin and Luke kept an eye on her. Everyone was glad she was back, but she said it's only for a half day, so she does not get exhausted.
“How is Hayley doing?” Matt asked.
“She is doing chemo and they are going to do an x-ray after the one she has today,” Luke said.
“We are all praying for her,” Dana said.
“We will let her know,” Luke said.
“How is Eric holding up?” Matt asked.
“He's hanging in here, trying to be strong for her,” Karly said.
“And Ginger?” Matt asked.
“The pregnancy took so she is about two months along,” Karly said.
“And how is your little one?” Matt asked.
“You mean ones, I'm having twins,” Karly said.
“Twins? Congrats you two!” Dana said.
“Congrats!” Matt said.
“We have some news too, Matt and I are engaged!” Dana said.
“Congratulations!” Karly said.
“Congratulations you two!” Kevin said.
“Congrats!” Luke said. Austin came in with Eric.
“Hey guys,” Karly said.
“Jack found another letter,” Austin said.
“What now?” Karly asked. Matt and Dana left the room and Eric closed the door.
“It's from our father,” Eric said.
“Let me guess, it got misplaced in someone else's file,” Karly said.
“No, it was sent to him,” Austin said.
“What did it say?” Luke asked.
“We wanted to open it with Karly,” Austin said.
“Should Kev and I leave?” Luke asked.
“No, you don't have to,” Austin said.
“You guys will find out eventually,” Eric said.
“What is it?” Karly asked. Austin opened the letter and read it and looked at Eric.
“Oh god,” Eric said.
“What does it say?” Karly asked.
“Let me see it,” Luke said. Austin handed it to Luke and he read it.
“You have got to be kidding!” Luke said.
“Will someone please tell me?” Karly said.
“Guys?” Kevin asked.
“I guess we know why Dad hated you so much, sis,” Austin said.
“Why?” Karly asked.
“Baby, he said you are not his daughter, that he found out that your mom had an affair and you were the result and your mother lied and said you were his,” Luke said.
“Oh god!” Karly said.
“That doesn't explain why he put her in the will,” Austin said.
“It was probably why he was trying to take her out of it before he died,” Eric said.
“But how did the letter get mailed to Jack?” Kevin asked.
“He must have given it to someone he trusted to mail it at a certain date,” Austin said.
“So, if I'm not his daughter, then who is my father?” Karly asked.
“We might have to get a DNA test done,” Austin said.
“Maybe that's why I'm having twins,” Karly said.
“You're having twins!” Austin said.
“Wow, sis, two little ones for Uncle Eric to spoil,” Eric said.
“Oh god, what if Mom is not my mom either,” Karly said.
“DNA test on all of us,” Austin said.
“Let's go,” Karly said.
“Kev, you're in charge, we will see you at the house with news,” Luke said.
“Got it,” Kevin said. Austin, Luke, Eric, and Karly went to the hospital where they had a DNA test ran and Luke paid extra for fast results.
“How's Hayley?” Karly asked.
“She is home in bed, her mom is taking care of her while I came with Austin,” Eric said.
“Have you checked in with Ginger?” Karly asked.
“She and Greg have moved in for the duration of the pregnancy,” Eric said. Dr. Reagan came out with the results of the DNA tests. They all looked at her.

CHAPTER 121

“Doc?” Karly asked.
“What do they say?” Austin asked.
“All of you have the same mother,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Okay what about father?” Karly asked.
“Karly, looks like you have a different dad,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Oh god,” Karly said.
“Is there a way to tell who it is?” Luke asked.
“I used her blood type and ran it through the system, and it came up with a match,” Dr. Reagan said.
“So, who is it?” Luke asked. She handed him the envelope and she opened it and read it.
“Baby?” Luke asked.
“A guy named Rick Lawson,” Karly said.
“I have already contacted him, and he is on the way,” Dr. Reagan said.
“So, he is my father?” Karly asked.
“Once he gets here, we will run another test to be sure,” Dr. Reagan said. A guy came in and walked up to her.
“Dr. Reagan?” he asked.
“Rick Lawson?” Dr Reagan asked.
“Yes,” Rick said.
“Thank you for coming, the reason you are here is because of this young woman, Karly?” Dr. Reagan said. Karly stood up and walked over to them. He looked at her and froze.
“You look familiar,” Rick said.
“I used to be a model before taking over my mom's agency when she passed away from cancer,” Karly said.
“I'm sorry for your loss, what was your mom's name?” Rick asked.
“Amy Davis,” Karly said.
“You are Amy's daughter?” Rick asked.
“Yes,” Karly said.
“Mr. Lawson, there is a chance that she is your daughter as well, will you do a DNA test with her?” Dr. Reagan asked.
“Yes of course,” Rick said. They went to do the test and came back to wait, and Karly told him everything about her life. Rick shook his head.
“If I'm your father, you will be loved and cared for by me, I'll be the father you deserved growing up,” Rick said.
“I hope you are my father,” Karly said.
“Me too,” Rick said.
“This is my oldest brother, Austin and my older brother, Eric,” Karly said.
“Nice to meet you boys, and if I'm her father, I will be that father to you two as well,” Rick said.
“Really?” Austin asked.
“Thank you,” Eric said.
“So, are you married?” Karly asked.
“Yes, I married three years after things ending with your mom,” Rick said.
“So, she cheated on her husband,” Karly said.
“They were separated the whole time we were together, she ended it when he begged her to come back to him,” Rick said.
“I wish she stayed with you,” Karly said.
“I really loved her,” Rick said.
“Karly, Mr. Lawson, I have the results,” Dr. Reagan said.
“Doc?” Karly asked. She handed Karly the results and she looked at them and tears ran down her cheeks and looked at Rick.

CHAPTER 122

“Hi Dad,” Karly said. He smiled and hugged her close.
“My daughter,” Rick said.
“Rick,” Austin said.
“Yeah son,” Rick said.
“Should we start calling you dad?” Karly asked.
“I wouldn't have it any other way,” Rick said.
“Am I your only child?” Karly asked.
“No, I have two sons and a daughter,” Rick said.
“I have two more brothers and a sister,” Karly said.
“Yes, I'm going to head home to tell them the news,” Rick said.
“If they accept the news, come for dinner tonight,” Karly said.
“I would be delighted to,” Rick said.
“Luke?” Karly asked.
“I will tell Laura to cook plenty of food,” Luke said.
“I might not be there, I should be with my wife,” Eric said.
“Eric?” Rick asked.
“My wife, Hayley, she is Luke's sister and she has a brain tumor and she had her last chemo treatment for the time being and she is home resting,” Eric said.
“You should tell her and Mom and Dad too,” Karly said.
“I will, bye everyone,” Eric said. He left. Rick looked at her.
“Mom and Dad?” Rick asked.
“Luke's parents,” Karly said.
“Oh, so I will go home and tell my wife and kids about this and if they want to come to dinner tonight, we will see you then,” Rick said. Karly gave him the address and her number, and he hugged her and left. Karly looked at Luke.
“I have a father,” Karly said.
“You have a father who wants you,” Luke said.
“Let's get home,” Karly said. They left the hospital and went to the house. Austin went home to tell Abby. Eric went home to tell Hayley and her folks. Karly checked with Laura on food.
“How is everything going?” Karly asked.
“Everything is going well, Luke told me the news, you okay?” Laura asked.
“Overwhelmed,” Karly said.
“I have everything under control here, so you go rest dear,” Laura said.
“Okay, Laura, and thank you for cooking a bigger meal than normal,” Karly said.
“It's fine, dear, I have a big family, so I am used to it,” Laura said. Karly went up and laid down and took a nap.
